Excellent teacher all the way around. I highly reccomend him to anyone interested in taking A&P. He's the best
EXCELLENT!
Hard course. Awesome instructor.I would highly recommend him.I have taken over 30 college classes. He is one of the best.
pretty good class, but the labs are extremely boring and useless with no actual relation to the lectures or test. tests can be tough, but just because of the class!
Tough material great teacher. Seems to clearly understand the complexity of learning this material and teaches accordingly. As long as you keep improving, he will take all the time in the world with you.
Frank is a very funny instructor--like to use dried humor, but he knows what he is doing. Keep up with the material, you will get good grade.
if you want to have a life and take this class at the same time, dont take it with Frank. he is a great guy and he knows his stuff, but you have to study your a$$ off to get a good grade. great guy, class was terrible.
Awesome instructor. You really do have to study you bum off to get an A, but most any one can get an A in this class. His notes are awesome…. never looked in the textbook but twice. He doesn’t give test reviews….FYI
The best teacher I have ever had for A&P. He grades hard but I am glad I took his class because I know my stuff know. He is very easy to work with, just ask him if you have a question and he will help you. Study his notes, that is the way to go. Do not miss class, if you want to succeed.
This is the best teacher I have had for any subject. He will give you all the help you need if you are having trouble. Know his notes front to back and you will get an A. Don't worry about reading the book. He makes class fun, and funny. I actually look forward to going. Makes a tough class fun
Frank is an awesome teacher, he is my favorite teacher here at SPSCC, although the class was hard and I got two A-, I know so much about the stuff because of him. He is hilarious, helpful and way cool.
This man is so smart and that in itself is a turn on.
Frank is unbelievably intelligent and teaches A/P very very well. The class is very tuff, but I'd recommend him for any A/P or science requirement. He also has a good sense of humor, somewhat lame, but still funny.
Focused and to the point.
EXCELLENT teacher. He's easy to ask for help, and is always available for questions. Very interested in the subject matter. I wish he taught more Biology classes!
Veselovsky obviously knew something about medicine at one time, but that time was the late 1970's and he hasn't picked up a book since. A decent teacher and fairly demanding, but gives away medical advice that hasn't been correct for at least 20 years.
I really found these classes dry and boring, with the whole grade focused on the tests. If you are bad at taking tests you are out of luck with him. I heard that he is the best A&P teacher at SPSCC and that is really a shame that they can't get more exciting and challenging teachers for this important subject.
I think Frank is a great professor, the best i have in a long time. Looking forward to anatomy 2 with him!!! The class is hard, expect to put lots of time into this class.
great teacher.just read the survival kit.i didnt read the book at all,but got A.Again, just read the survival kit!
dry and boring but great overall. i WOULD recommend him to anyone
Everyone warned me not to take his class because he is too hard-they were wrong!!! Frank makes this subject even more interesting and understandable. He makes himself available for extra help. My new favorite teacher at SPSCC! His jokes are funny. He really cares about the student's success.
Difficult class, be prepared to study a bunch-you should already know that going into A&P. Study the survival kit, and KNOW IT. That is what you will be tested on. I think I opened the text maybe twice all term. Fun teacher, great teaching style, and supportive of students. Would recommend.
I really like Frank as a teacher - he tells you what to study and that is exactly what he tests on. KNOW THE SURVIVAL KIT. I hardly used my textbook. Took A&P 1, 2, and am in A&P 3 now because I enjoy learning from him. Highly recommend!
HOT!!!
Frank is a great teacher but be prepared for very hard material! LEARN HIS SURVIVAL KIT! I have not once opened the book.
Frank is challenging and will push you to know the material well in order to pass his exams. He is also available for meeting with students.
Look distinguish, very helpful and one of the best professor that I had so far....
Frank is very helpful and available. You have to study and KNOW his survival kit. If it's in the survival kit it is on the exam. This class has no homework. Your grade is based on 6 of 7 100point exams and one take-home test worth 50 points. You MUST be able to manage your time and STUDY if you are going to pull off an A in this class.
BANG for ur BUCK!It might ruin your 4.0, but well worth it! Great entertainment and worth 6mo. and $1000. Extremely difficult exams (study survival kit). I even tried to pay $500 to a student to get their spot in his class! Spscc is lucky he still works there. I'm taking his 3rd course for fun in spring!!
Frank is the best! He is hard! Tests are hard, but know his survival kit. Wished all teachers were like him.
HARD class! Almost gave me gray hairs trying to get an A, but I got an A!! He is my fave teacher so far, tests harder than ever. No notes, must just flat out know it, so studying is what you will be doing everyday if you want an A. Fun, easygoing teacher, very smart and comfortable to be around.
Frank is amusing and smart. He follows his survival kit. He is open to student input when given at the appropriate time. He does not discriminate against **** students.
What a great teacher! Frank loves making Anatomy/Physiology enjoyable for his students, and therefore is not only a fun teacher, but he makes it easy to learn such a difficult subject. Labs are not required to go to, but are still interesting and worth while. Everyone interested in medical should take a class with Frank.
Frank is a great instructor and very helpful. Make sure to attend all lectures and if you have questions, use his office hours! Make sure to study are you go along, a cram session the night before will result in a fail.
Frank is an incredible teacher! His class is very challenging but he is very clear in what he wants and the only homework is to study for tests. Frank has written his own set of notes that he asks you to study. These notes are a LIFESAVER! You only have to study his notes and diagrams. Attend his lectures! They are very important and helpful.
Frank is a great instructor! He grades and corrects homework fairly, and in a timely manner. He's funny, helpful, and has a lot of knowledge to share. His classes were very hard for me, but I learned a lot.
Frank is a great teacher. He explains things using real life examples. If you have questions he will try his best to answer them, even outside of class you can meet with him for help. He's also very helpful in the lab, helping teach you what you want to learn. I will for sure be taking him for A&P 2 next quarter!
Frank is a great teacher. He provides you with a Survival Guide with WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW! Read it study it, you'll do good if you apply yourself. At least 4 hours a day of studying. Ask questions, he will answer. He is challenging but I have learned so much already. He's also fun in lab! He really enjoys to teach! He's also FUNNY!
Frank is the best Biology teacher we have here. He is very CLEAR with his expectations, and clear with the material you need to know in order to pass the tests. You have to study hard for this class, but at least you needn't worry you're studying the wrong stuff/stuff that isn't important. He's also funny (or tries to be in an endearing way).
Frank is a great instructor! One of the best I have ever had. If you need to take a Bio class def try to take it from him. He is clear on his expectations and is very realistic. Even though the subject matter is quite hard, Frank is good at lightening the mood on test day. Extremely knowledgeable. Overall a great professor.
Excellent Teacher, the Survival Guide he wrote is free and provided to his students.
Best teacher ever! I couldn't imagine pressing through this difficult material with a different instructor.
Best instructor at SPSCC! Knows his stuff, uses great examples to make the lectures clear, answers questions until you understand, and makes lecture entertaining with a fun sense of humor: deserves a raise for sure! The system needs more like him.
Frank knows his stuff. A&P is difficult, but taking it with Frank makes it easier and interesting. You need to take this class seriously and study each night. DONT miss class/labs, eventhough he says they aren't mandatory to go to. You need to go. Take Frank and you will do great. My grade: A
He is a hard teacher but at the same time gives you all the tools and opportunity to learn the material and ask questions to clarify. He provides a "survival guide" that is better than the book for studying for his tests. Study hard, study often, and attend class and you will do well in the class.
A&P is hard, but Frank teaches it well. He explains things well and has great office hours and is always willing to give one-on-one time to his students. He really enjoys teaching and knows the subject well. Go to class, study several hours a day, and use the Survival Guide. I would highly recommend taking class from Frank.
In all schooling anywhere/ever Frank is, by far, the best instructor I've had. He's a nice guy, he's fair, he knows his subject and delivers the class in a clear, organized fashion. Study, ask questions, take concepts from microscopic to macroscopic and back again and you will do great. His Survival Kit should be published.
Frank cares about his students in and outside of class. He is always willing to clear something up if there is confusion and he is the most organized teacher I've ever had. The survival kit he wrote is phenomenal. Tests are tricky, but if you show up for lecture everyday and study, you will do fine. I strongly recommend Frank.
He is very knowledgeable about the material. Only the smartest student are doing very good on his class. the student who are not the top of the class are going to suffer in their grades and their leaning. He told the students not to drop the class yet until it is too late. Big size class, Lab class was useless. Only tests were being graded.
Frank stresses the need to STUDY & it's true. Students who take the time to study (prior to the night before) are successful. *Re: prev. review: Grades & drop dates are student responsibility, not the teacher! Overall, he makes the class interesting & gives additional information so that you can see how the information relates to the real world.
I learned a lot from his class.I trust him about not dropping the class and i was so glad that i didn't. I'm so proud of myself that i got b. The lecture class was really interesting. Nothing much on lab that because of the college. This is the completed comment of 11/15/13 ( hit wrong button first time using touch screen)
Fortunately, i didn't drop his class. I kept working so hard to get b and i learn a lot from his class. this is the completed comment from 11/15/13. It was really challenging.
Frank is a wonderful professor. If you study the number of hours you are supposed to be dedicating to college anyway, you are going to do great and learn a lot. He is very friendly, not intimidating, and extremely helpful. I suggest this class.
worst bio teacher i've ever had. I've looked at the other teachers reviews and I'll be transferring to Pierce to take this course. HORRIBLE teachers at SPSCC. I would not take this class from Frank again, nor would i take any of the other professors here. Lectures are monotone. You are better off not going to class and reading material yourself.
Frank is GREAT! I was scared to death of this class and although the material is incredibly difficult, he does a great job teaching it! His lectures are interesting, he is personable and really easy to talk to. I would HIGHLY recommend taking his class. Best teacher at SPS by far.
Sad to be saying farewell to Frank after A&P2. I would like to take A&P3 but won't be able to. He is a fair grader and straightforward in his policies. The only complaint I have is that grades are entirely based on tests, so if you don't test well, you may have problems. He does drop a test grade though and everything you need is in the kit.
Frank is very monotone during lectures. He basically created his own guide called 'survival kit to A&P'.He bases his tests on his survival kit.And that is the only credit you get for the class, is just the tests.Do poorly on the tests & you're in trouble!! No other assignments for points. And lab is a waste, its basically only lecture, not real lab.
I just LOVE Frank! What a great teacher he's been! He doesn't kill you with powerpoint presentations and he's got his own guide to the class called "The A&P Survival Kit". I love that he lets his students decide how long they're involved with labs and you can tell he doesn't like lab time much! I'm sad to not being taking A&P2 with him this summer!
Frank is an awesome teacher. If you apply yourself you will get the grade you want. Must study a lot!!!!! If you need help outside of class however he is always willing to help. He is a teacher that wants his students to pass so you put the effort in so will he. Highly recommend Frank
Frank is tough but pay attention. Go to class AND LAB. He's there if you need him. Great guy, who's been doing this a long time.
One of the best Bio teachers at SPSCC
Frank is great! Yeah he might have a monotoned voice, but he teaches Anatomy and Physiology well. Read and study his study guide book and you will pass the class easy! Make sure to ask questions or if you need help! He's very helpful and informative.
I love Frank as a professor but this is one of the hardest classes I have ever taken. There are only 600 points possible, and its all tests. If you don't show up to lecture and study, you will not pass. He has a dark sense of humor and an odd demeanor but I wont take this series with anyone else. Labs aren't graded and survival kit is your bible.
This class is based mostly on test. We had one homework assignment. I did not do well on any of my test no matter how hard I studied. I know I was not the only one because we studied as a group. I felt like I was in a far more advanced class. Some students repeated his class 3 times, this is a problem with the instructor not the students. Beware
If you put your effort, you'll likely pass this class with B. Highly recommend this professor :)
Frank is legit. He provides a "Survival Kit" and it is bar-none your most prized resource and he only tests from the material in the Kit and a few anatomical diagrams. The textbook is secondary but is somewhat required and I would recommend having it. His lectures are always informative and he always answers questions. Simply awesome! Team Frank!
Frank is great! I passed his class with 100% You have to work for your A , study lots of hours and make this class your life. He is funny and lectures help. He has his own survival guide and I did not even buy the book for his class. Im currently taking him for A and P 2 and doing great as well.
Really hard to understand anything he is saying in A&P2 if you didn't take A&P1 with him because every point builds on the first class.
The thing about Frank is that he has you print out a Survival Guide, and in the beginning of each unit he has objectives. THESE ARE WHAT THE TEST IS OFF. Use this instead of your textbook. When studying, focus on these and diagrams, make flashcards and focus on understanding, not memorizing or you won't pass. Ask questions if you don't understand.
Don't get me wrong Frank is a great teacher, he knows what he is talking about and his survival kit is gold. However my learning styles just didn't clash well with him. He doesn't seem to have much faith in his students which is discouraging. A teacher shouldn't take pride in saying "no one ever gets A's in my class".
He has a survival guide that actually narrows down what you need to study and learn. Ye is very knowledgeable. If you do the readings and come to lectures you will pass.
Frank is a phenomenal teacher! You do have to get past his sense of humor though as some may not be able to understand it, like me. He cares about his students and wants them to pass because if ya'll actually go in for his office hours and ask him all the questions of what youre confused about he will actually take the time to talk and explain!
He is a highly respected professor with a large class size. His lectures tend to draw out but he throws a few jokes out every now and again. He had about 6 tests that you completed on a scantron. Lots of effort needed for this class. Definitely determines if the medical field is right for you.
Frank is a great guy. He is sooo knowledgeable on his subjects and, in my opinion, explains them very well. You have 5 tests and he drops your lowest score. Like 1 homework assignment per two weeks. His lectures did get boring sometimes but he tells you everything you need to know. His study guides help immensely, they have everything on the tests.
Don't take his A&P course if you can avoid it. I ended up in his class because I couldn't fit the others in my schedule. You will only get an A if you study the material A LOT. Textbook and lab manual aren't super necessary - he'll give a survival guide that will cover the entire section. USE THIS GUIDE TO STUDY. Super hard class.
Show up even though class is not mandetory, do 1.5-2 hours of working for her class each night and you should do fine. Lots of material but this professor is really willing to help
You dont need the textbook he has a survival guide and all the study material is in that. You also dont need the lab manual I think we did one lab all quarter. I loved him! He was a great lecturer and you always knew what would be on the test. Studying is super important so start early.
I love Frank hes well respected professor. Smartest guy Ive ever met, but his teaching and grading didnt work for me. Your grade is based off just the test he gives.
Hands down, best instructor I've ever had in my life. If it were possible, I'd take every college course ever from Frank. He is SO clear when he explains things, everything was covered really well, and his study guide is a life-saver. I would 100% recommend taking his courses, ALL of his courses. Don't even bother with anybody else, Frank is A+.
Horrible! Lectures make no sense and only grades off exams.
He grades his students only on EXAMS. Lectures aren't clear; he does not lay out what he will talk about in class. He is not organized with his lectures because he goes out of order when talking about the units. He expects you to know everything on his survival guide and often times, does not cover everything on it in class. Expect to study A LOT.
Frank was an amazing teacher. I understood everything he taught in lecture but when it came to tests I was stumped. The only downside of taking his class is the hard tests, besides that he was an amazing teacher.
Frank was an excellent Professor. I took A&P 1 and 2 concurrently from him. Anyone who knows what those classes are knows how difficult that was. His teaching style and the course materials he prepared allowed me not only to learn the material, but also to remember it throughout my graduate school program. Not an easy A, but a great Teacher.
P. Frank's class was one of the hardest I have ever taken. Your grade depended solely on the 6 exams and the lowest grade was dropped. You have to print his 200+ page Survival Guide and use that to study. His lectures were also not that helpful in studying for the tests. He is very knowledgeable but he really makes you work for your grade!
P. Frank's A&P II class was one of the hardest classes I have ever taken. His lectures weren't really helpful, the most important thing is his 200+ pg Survival Guide. Your grade relies solely on your 6 exam grades (5 since he drops your lowest). He is definitely knowledgeable but be prepared to work hard and learn this subject mostly on your own .
I ended up dropping my a and p class because of how frustrating it was for me. His lectures are almost pointless and if your learning style clashes with his, as around 10 people in my class that I spoke to did, you will not pass. I could not understand a thing and worked extremely hard to try and teach myself. Not good for visual learners.
I had an alright time in Veselovsky's class. His study guides are real gems. As long as you know the material in them, you will pass the class. Lectures are essential moments of clarification, as you are expected to fully learn the material outside of class. Attendance is mandatory if you want to pass the class.
Frank is kind of a legend. This was the hardest class I've ever taken. But Frank gives you his "tool kit" which is basically the text book condensed into crucial notes. He gives exams based on those notes. So it you study hard and focus on those objectives, you will pass. Frank is NO BS. He knows his stuff, but this class is hard. Good luck.
I took A+P 1 and 2 with Frank in 2019. Tbh I don't agree with many of the low scoring reviews. Frank does an excellent job breaking difficult concepts down into easily digestible information both in class and in his survival guide. Engage with him, make eye contact, ask questions, attend every class, and he will make sure you pass.
This guy is awesome. I took A&P back in 2002 with Frank. Had no idea he was still teaching. I found his separate packet is absolutely essential. My daughter is now a sophomore in high school studying A&P. I instantly thought of Frank's packet as a study guide for her. Going to have to make a trip and see if the packet is still available.
