I hate biology but I loved his class. It was funny and informative at the same time. His tests are long but opened book, if you read the material it is impossible to get a C in this class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

He is a great teacher he makes good use of class time. His exams are not hard but they are really long. If you go to class take good notes and of course have the notes cd that he burns for you you will pass with an A+

Dr. Te is awesome, if you love Biology you want to be in his class, even if you don't I guarantee after you've taken his class you will change your mind. He uses everyday experiences as examples, take good notes what he covers in class is what's on his tests NO SURPRISES he makes it easy to understand.

This is the greatest class to take! Its very easy, yet you learn more than in any other class. Very hands on down and dirty type of class. If you like the beach, this is the class.

He loves bio, his lab is better than his class but you will learn in both. His class has open book questions, but not what your thinking. You really need to know the subject and you also need to write good notes, loves to give examples... You should be fine just go to class and take good notes in both class and lab..............

He loves biology, and transmit that to his students. Write down all the real life examples he gives, do not take his take home tests, vote no on those, very long and the questions are not easy to find on the web. Great Prof. He knows what he is doing. His experince in the biology field is broad and he incorporates this in his course.He teaches the course in a manner that you can apply biology to your everyday life, he doesn't intend for you to learn the book, but for you to understand the concept.Listen to all examples for the test.

Class was easy and fun.Tests are open book and essay type. You get credit for whatever you write as long as it is related to the question and not exact copy of book material. Shows pics and videos in class and really makes you think. He is very impartial and respectful and works very hard to keep students interested in the topic.

Te is pretty straight forward. If you are unwilling to read or learn then take another class. His tests are open book so if you flunk them thats your bad! I really enjoy his insight and honesty. Take him!

How all Profs should be! Loves what he does and makes you want to learn. Encourages discussion and debate. Very down to earth and wants your input and opinion. He is not one of the easier teachers though, you have to study. Test are open book but not directly from the book so it's helpful but not an easy A. Overall A++

Great lecture but if you want an A you need to attend all classes. He takes roll every class and uses his examples on tests. Tests are not hard but you need his examples used in class. Gives some extra credit and will answer questions to help. I enjoyed his down to earth style.

Professor Te is awesome! He makes class interesting. He has a wonderful personality and it is clear he loves what he does. You will learn alot. His testing style is different. In order to do well you need to go to class to use the examples he gives in class on the tests. As long as you take good notes you will be fine. I wish I had more professor

I love him! you leanr so much in his class and he keeps you entertained as he teaches. He is far from boring! His test are a bit challenging but he only gives 3 test and the third one was a surprisingly mulpiple choice test because the first two were had writtten. So keep that in mind. I would DEFINAtely take him for Biology all over again!

I took him for both lab and lecture. He makes the class fun, crystal clear and interactive. If your major is biology you'll love him. If not you'll love him regardless. Great professor, great person. Unique style of teaching, it is just amazing.

He is a good teacher I got an F on his first test but that was because I didn't study. Afterwards for his 2nd exam i went to him for help and he was more than happy to help me he encourages students to go to him if they are having difficulties. There are only 3 exams and the last one is multiple choice i passed the class with a B.

Overall he makes the class interesting and fun. Only three exams one of them being the final. Study hard and reviews notes or esle you WILL fail.

Mr. Te is really nice and funny. You need to really pay attention in class though.Come everyday and take good notes. You really dont use the book. MOst of the stuff he talks about in class and goes over is what comes out in the tests. You only need to take three exams which includes your final, but they are pretty simple if you pay attention. :)

his classes seem no to be difficult, but he tends to generalize everything in class and then the test comes with specific material that you don't know where to study them from. Not easy at all, i don't recommend him if your major is not biology or related to that. hard hard hard!!!! he is funny and make class interesting but hard exams!!!

this professor is Cuckoo. he doesn't like to explain test review ? or lab ? if u can research for it yourself & yeah that seems easy enough but his ? are unique thus hard to find the answer on a textbook or even the internet. Nonetheless, I like him he shows tremendous passion. I barely studied and got an A plus he gave extra credit at the end.

He keeps the course interesting. His reviews are very similar to the tests(3 of them). The last test is a piece of cake. Just do your part and STUDY the reviews and you'll pass the class.

first, he gives you all the Power points, second he gaves you review sheets for the test, third he gave extra credit in case you dont do good. and for the class is really interesting as he shows you the WOW part of science and not only the theory. best and easiest class ever. just listen to the guy.

He really makes the class interesting and fun to attend. Be aware though that all his tests are short responds answers and if you don't study REALLY well, you will not pass, he doesn't give any types of extra credits so you gotta study hard.

He is awesome. I didn't think I would make his early classes, but I managed to get up twice a week to get there. He brings the subject onto your level, makes it easy to understand. You can study from the power points, but I used the book. He's not easy though, the tests are challenging, but all you need to do is keep up.

His test are really hard i won't recommend you take him unless you have time to really go over his work and record his class study that way. 5 questions and within each there are about 2 to 5 more question only 3 test extra credit are pointless because you have to go to places if you work and go to school like i do no time :( makes learning fun

Excellent teacher, a lot of stuff is lectured and covered during class, be on time!He is very helpful and loves what he teaches. Dont be afraid to ask questions. The tests are hard so you must be prepared. If youre looking for an easy A do not take this class. Half of my class withdrew one month in. Overall, I learned a lot and it was a great class

EXCELLENT TEACHER! He truly knows his stuff and makes it extremely interesting. He gives extra credit pop quizzes and a field trip, doesnt use book, and gives test review sheet (80% of actual test is on it.) If you fail this class it is because you did not study. Great professor. HE will go out of his way to teach you. He wants you to know the material not just for the test but so that it stays with you. He was a great teacher. He was fun and used really interesting/helpful guides for us to learn the material. His tests were thorough; he isn't an "easy teacher". You have to pay attention to class, but you can easily study from the powerpoint slides and the articles he gives you.

he is by far one of the best teachers i have ever had at MDC. although he has also been the most challenging, I have not learned so many useful things in any other class. his tests are not easy, and they are mostly based on what he lectures in class, so attendance is really important. but if you want to truly learn, take him.

I loved this class! Had him for lab and lecture. My favorite class of being in college. Read the book make sure you understand everything and make sure you know the lab info not only lecture. I got As on all test. The test are on level I do not think that they were hard they were what they should be.

Really Good professor. He gives Review sheet that are similar to the test. His tests are never multiple choice. His tests are based on class notes so attendance is mandatory. You also need the book to understand the class. He gives up to 10 points extra credit, which are his quizzes. Only 3 test no midterm no final. He also has a field trip.

Best professor anyone could ask for. Make class fun by relating it to his own personal life...which is not boring at all! He very much wants you to learn to be a better person to the environment and understand how everything around us works.

Dr. Te was a wonderful professor. He encourages discourse, gives you many opportunities to earn points, and genuinely cares about his students and how they are doing. He is extremely fair and patient. If you are able to take a course with him, you're in for a treat.

He made a simple non-bio major class overly complicated. His tests were inconsistent and did not test actual knowledge. The only decent part was his lecturing which even then was filled with factual inaccuracies that anyone with a brain should be able to point out, even though no one did. If you don't care about bio do no take him.

He is a great teacher. He knows a lot about his subject and field, lots of interest in inspiring students and future scientists. His class is not a joke, it may be intro but you have to put effort in to get a decent grade. He gave us a great amount of extra credit, about 20/300 is possible plus 5/100 extra credit per test (3 tests). Take him 100%

Prof Te is a great professor you know how to teach and gives really good advices. make sure you read his power points before the class or test. I failed the first test but I aced the next 2 and I have an A-. So it's possible . TAKE HIM

I wouldn't get bored in his lectures. He gives interesting articles.He is very good and gives a lot of extra credit. He takes a while to grade exams,which can be annoying. Three major exams. Study for the exams and pay attention to him in lecture and you will be fine . I recommend. Exams are not multiple choice

He's very clear, extra credit pop quizzes designated only to help you (if you do poorly, they do not count against you), 3 exams no final, everything is essay questions but exactly like the review he gives prior to the exam. He's a cool teacher, my only problem is that he denies global warming.

Passionate professor

By far the best professor I have ever taken, he cares about his students passing. As long as you master the study guide that he gives before exams you will pass with an A. unfortunately I got a C because I failed my first exam and scored low on my second but once I got the study guides down packed and did my extra credit he looked out. Take him!!!

In this class you only have three test all long response (but dont be scared not hard just give a lot of details and know what your talking about) but the reviews he gives you are EXACTLY whats on the test. I was shocked at how interested I was during Te's lectures. He is a great professor and presents the subject matter interestingly. He likes students to be engaged, I wasn't because I'm not that talkative but I did listen intently. 3 tests, 5 short answer questions and one bonus. impossible to fail if you do the study guide

Best professor I have taken at MDC. He gives the most interesting lectures and is an expert in his field. 3 exams answer questions only not multiple choice, and bonus question. Memorize the study guide and you cant fail. Go to the extra credit field trip which adds 10 points to your grade. Overall great professor. Take him you wont regret it.

I've taken him for marine science and intro to bio. I personally love him and love the way he lectures. he gives you a study guide, and as long as you study it and know it you will pass his class. fill in the blank tests, no abc answers so expect to know what you're talking about. i would take him again.

Professor Tan-Te's tests are essay format, so you MUST study. He gives a study guide a few days before the test, but 90%of the questions on the study guide are the same on the test, the textbook is supplementary. His lectures are VERY engaging and you'll definitely walk away with something new in your head. If you miss a lecture you miss a lot.

Professor Te is the best professor at MDC by far. His class was great. He's very enthusiastic and loves what he does. He gives study guides and his tests have the exact same questions, so there's no reason not to get an A. He's amazing, definitely recommend!

he got his phd studying zoology so when you need this upper division course for the bachelor program, be happy that it is with this guy! very clear with the direction of the course and as long as you study hard, you will get an A. looking forward to taking evolution with this guy as I hear he's really good for that upper division course as well

Tests aren't too hard, either too easy. professor is very clear when doing his lecture, and he's is very passionate about his job. He'll give you a lot of interest facts and handouts important for the test.. read them!!

I changed my major to Biology because of this man. Unfortunately this was my last semester to take him, but between fall up until now, I have never been more confident and happy to be majoring in biology. His tests are difficult if you don't care about the class or the material. One things for sure, he is by far the most difficult grader e v e r.

Professor Te really does make the class interesting by adding articles and stories. He does only give 3 exams, no homework. But he does give 2 extra credit quizzes which DEFINITELY boost up your grade. His exams are short answers no multiple choice but he does give a study guide which almost identical to the exam. One of the best professors ever! Truly caring and understanding of students problems. The quality of education is so poor in South Florida as it is but Professor Te defies that rule. Professor Te is one of the more serious professors at Miami Dade. The Biggest takeaways from this class were 1) Learn, don't memorize 2) Everything I learned in High School was bullsh*t 3) CELL PHONES CAUSE CANCER. If you do the study guides then passing should be no problem. Definitely not an easy A though.
