Execlent teacher! His tests are difficult but the class is worth it. Hes funny and he is very smart. He makes sure you know it, but he doesnt just hand the As over.

Very good teacher. Little bit fast, but clear and helpful. You can ask him questions even during the tests. The book is worthless, hard to understand. Fred or Mr.Beebe will explain it all in much easier way.

I took his class a couple of years back, and now in the Univ, taking an Econ course, I wish that he could be here to lecture. His lectures were great. easy to understand and fun. tests were hard but doable as long as you study. He is one of the best teachers I've ever had! Highly recommend! take him and u'll see how he'll make Econ a fun subject!

oh my god , don't take it during the summer, It was very hard, and if you have trouble with math forget it ,take it during regular semesters. great teacher, very smart and knows a lot . he is very funny too. keeps you awake, stay cool BROTHER

Attendance doesn't really matter, read the Chapters for the test, all questions are multiple choice and he tells you exactly what is going to be on the test. 2 current events are due that are very easy (one page). And he keeps it interesting so it never got boring. Take it, you'll get a good grade!

He's an overall great professor. There are four exams (including the final), two current events and one term paper. He uses lots of examples and repeats key ideas for emphasis which helps learning.

The "Beebester" is a great teacher!! Always makes sure that everyone understands the material before he introduces new things. You got to study for the tests and there is a 3 page paper that is due on the final. Chill guy and chill class. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I took Global Econ with him and Ray Sumner. I was relieved that the class was not boring at all. He makes it easy to relate to what you are learning. He is a great teacher and I would totally take another of his classes if he taught something other than econ.

Pretty tough class you will need to study. Professor was really cool and really knows the material. I would recommend taking this class with Fred Beebe!!!

BEST ECON TEACHER

Really good teacher. Really good lectures that aren't really boring at all. I hated econ with a passion until i had him as a teacher. He is a really funny and good guy. NO HOMEWORK just take good notes and show up for test and your guaranteed at least a C

tests are tricky as hell. you really have to know the material to get an "A" in the class. but then again, he also makes it fairly difficult to fail the course. he's funny, keeps class interesting, and extremely passionate about getting his students to learn the material. one of the best teachers i've ever had.

Amaaaaaazing!Attendance is not mandatory, but his lectures make everything so clear. He is so passionate about economics he makes it fun and his lectures are enjoyable.

This man is a GOD!(when it comes to Economics). I always look forward going to his class. When he lectures, it's like watching a Chuck Norris movie (Intense!). You can really tell that he's passionate about the class. He is always there to help if you need it. His class isn't that hard yet it's not really that easy either.

4 Exams (contains written work + multiple choice), 1 Essay (Start on it ASAP). Getting an "A" isn't easy whatsoever. Fred will make you work for it. Most students in my class received grades of "C" and high "B". The class was entertaining and never dull. Fred is also a extremely nice person overall. Hes the man.

Beebe is the best! He goes over EVERYTHING that is going to be on the exams. He offers extra crefit too! He is funny and enjoyable. He makes you want to go to class and did i mention he is funny? I got a B and i sooo could've gotten an A by studying period. Take him & you wont regret it! 4 exams, term paper and extra credit. Easy A.

Great professor. We had a couple of group projects which are not that bad and mid and final papers which require more work. You do have to know you're material though cause it's easy to make mistakes while writing your paper and then he knows you haven't read the book. Got an A

He is an awesome professor. If you don't understand Econ, you will after taking his class. He is actaully very funny and even the class groupwork is not interesting. Even though attendance is not mandatory, his tests are based mainly off of his in-class notes, so as long as you've got those, you'll do fine on the tests and final.

Great teacher however treats that class like an upper division class. Very difficult to just listen to someone talk for an hour and a half without using the book. Tests were very difficult. The most frustrating part not knowing how well you did on the term paper before taking the final. PROF BAILY IS WAY BETTER!!

Beebe is a great teacher but his class is hard. There are only 3 exams and a term paper. The exams are REALLY TRICKY!!! This class is NOT an EASY "A".

I LOVED Prof. Beebe. I took him for both Econ1A and 1B. This is NOT an "easy" A class. You have to earn your A, but it IS possible! He is extremely passionate and VERY helpful. If you have questions, just ask! He is one of the best prof. ive ever had. Just READ your book,take lots of notes and go to his office hours and you'll do well.

I liked his classes a lot. Your entire grade was bassed on you test scores but he pretty much told you what was going to be on the test. If you put effort into the class you will do well.

He is a great teacher. He gave many example and when student asked him question he don't make them feel stupid at all.

beebe makes it easy to learn economics. he sticks to the basics of the textbooks in his lectures and on the tests. the class is very math-oriented. you can also download a torrent for the textbook.

Not only was his class entertaining, but I also learned real world survival skills. Take his class even if you are affraid that you wont understand economics. Fred is a fair teacher. He makes sure student understands. Before exam, he will tell you whats going to be on the exam. He explains the concepts well. But as an econ teacher, his lecture is too knowledge-based, more info. about reality issues and global issues are needed.I would not recommend this prof if you want to learn the actual thing of econ

Beebe is an excellent teacher. Read the book and pay attention in class and you will do fine. He paraphrases information and relates examples in ways that make it easier for students to understand. He also incorporates humor into his lectures which makes the class entertaining. I wish I would've taken him for Macro too.

Bebee is one of the best teachers I ever had in my life. Funny guy. Treats you like you're part of the family. However, the tests are very very hard. Don't be surprised to get a C on your exam despite studying your butt off.

Great teacher! Teaches the very dry subject of economics in an understandable way. Uses real-world examples to put concepts into perspective. Very straightforward when it comes to exams; he tells you what's covered in exams, so you study those topics and you're good to go! Reading the textbook is highly recommended.

Professor Beebe is passionate about economics.He takes a very dull subject and brings it to life with humor & real-world applications & insight. There are 3 main tests & a written in-class final. Beebe is very helpful & makes sure to explain what exactly his tests will assess. The textbook is rather confusing & redundant, though.

Mr. Beebe made Econ accessible to me. For someone who's not a math person, I was worried going into the class. Mr. Fred is an amazing professor. He always care about his students. He gives multiple examples. Moreover, he is funny. Mr Beebe is great. One of the best professor in the institution. He is passionate at what he does and demonstrate that passion in his lectures. This is a challenging class but his teachings are phenomenal.

He's a nice guy but I didn't find him that helpful. I ended up with a C in the class even when I thought I was understanding the material (+ I did extra credit!) The tests covered a lot and were hard and he's very strict about them. I guess Econ just isn't my thing.

Professor Beebe is hands down the best professor I have ever had. Not only is he very nice and understanding, but he's incredibly knowledgeable about economics. Grades are pretty easy to come by in his class. Honestly, you get to the point where you want to do well in the class just so you don't feel like you let him down. Awesome professor!

The subject is hard to grasp at first, but Bebe dose a great job of explaining. Test questions are a bit tricky but he lets you ask questions durring the test. Lectures where some of the best. If you come to class every day, take good notes, and READ, there is no reason not to get an A

Beebe is awesome! The class is a little hard, no homework is mandatory but he does assign workbook pages to do to help with learning the subject. I recommend you do the worksheets, it helps a lot. His teaching is fun, active, and tells funny stories. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER!

I had Fred Beebe for macroeconomics this past semester. He's a very nice teacher who cares about his students and wants them to learn something. He does his best to help you out with the homework and assigns a good deal of extra credit. Very good and helpful teacher altogether.

If you are willing to pass the class than you are able to pass the econ class with Beebe. He loves his job, is always on time, is not lazy, he sticks the schedule and is extremely professional about his job as an economics teacher. Its not a walk in the park, you should study a good amount of time. Beebe is the man.

Super cool guy but he only has 5 graded assignments (4 tests and a paper) so that doesn't give you a chance to bounce back if you mess something up. The book was a waste of 40 bucks.

One of the main reasons I continued to pursue Econ after transferring to a 4 year. Goes over the examples and makes the examples very relatable. 3 exams and a written final (when I took it). Very nice. Show up to class and you'll be fine. One of the chillest guys at LBCC. Should be working at a 4 year.

Professor Beebe is great, your whole grade for econ 1 is based purely on the tests. No quizzes, no projects , and no papers. The test questions are 100% from the homework, so you should do the homework even though you don't receive any credit for it. He will also go over the homework so everyone has their answers correct and be crystal clear.

Great teacher. If anyone says this class is hard they are CRAZY! He goes over everything on the tests. Haven't scored anything lower than 1 point away from a perfect score. He tells you exactly what is on the test word for word in your HW. Pay attention and look at your hw and you will get an A.

I loved this class- it's a good introduction to Econ and gives you a good understanding of it. He is very engaging and hilarious, so you won't even notice the time going by in his class. The tests are practically a rearranged version of the homeworks- do the homework (they are very, very easy), show up and pay attention, and you will get an A.

Great guy. His lectures are not off topic, they're good examples if you can focus on the big picture. The textbook is not the easiest to read, but he makes it easier to understand. Other reviews say it all.

Mr. Fred Beebe is the most hilarious and inspiring professor I've had. If you're not sure about a topic in economics, he will clarify and give examples until you get it. He doesn't mind repeating subjects and concepts, and he makes his lectures fun. For me, the most important things about this class are the formulas and graphs. GO MR. BEEBE!

Amazing professor. He was the very first college professor I ever had and he is on of the 5 best professors i've ever had. It really seems like the guy cares if each student understands the material. If you need extra help he is eager to take time during class breaks or take time after class to help you understand. Keeps class fun as well. A+

The way he described the subject rocked my world. He pointed out things I'd never have thought of. Take this class and you'll never be fooled by a politician about the economy again.

Hands-down my favorite professor including university level as well. He is a STEAL at CC pricing. Lectures are phenomenal and engaging with plenty of real-world relevance. He uses a friggen CHALK BOARD (at least the session I had him) and owns that thing like no one's business. Bottom line: if you don't like Beebe, you are a bad person.

Professor Beebe was so helpful. He was always so warm and inviting when I came into his office hours with questions on the material. He's thorough and is a very positive teacher. Big on positive reinforcement. Class is out of 100 points (4 tests worth 30 points each but he drops the lowest and a 10 point quiz).

Brothers and Sisters take this professor for any class he offers. He is extremely helpful, cares about his students and has a good sense of humor. I was struggling on pretty much every exam, he worked with me till the end. I am not an econ major so I was relieved that I received a passing grade in his class. If possible go to SI tutoring.

The best teacher I've ever had, he is so excited to teach and makes sure that you understand the current subject before you move on. One of the most entertaining professor I have taken. Its not an easy A but a good grade is attainable with some effort. Do all your homework since ALL of his exams come directly from it and be involved in his lectures. Econ is not an easy subject but he does an excellent job on making everyone grasp the material! Will be taking again for ECON 2.

Class is out of 100 points. 3 test worth 25 points/ lowest score dropped, 10 points from homework, 10 points from a 10 question quiz and a Final worth 30 points. One of the best professors I have had. Lectures are simple and to the point. If you have a question ask. He'll helpfuly clarify your question. Three tests and a final that is not cumulative. Do the homework its the same concepts that will be on the test.

Beebe is a great professor. His lectures are hilarious. Try making it to the lectures to know what's on the test. The tests are multiple choice with a written part. Multiple choice was tricky and found myself rereading the question multiple times. Drops lowest test score.

Brothers and sisters take this class his homework packets are like the exams when he repeats the same thing that's in the exam. He even tell you on the written part of the exam where the question is coming from homework. Don't mess with him on retaking a exam or coming to late to class. I'm taking right now for Econ 2 see how it goes

This is the first class that ive ever taken for winter & I was a bit nervous in the beginning especially to take in consideration it is a business course but in the short run (no pun intended) within our 5 wks together Prof Beebe made sure we learned everything we need to know. He is very passionate about econ & cares about his students! 10/10

Teaches like at university level. He makes the subject look easy. There is a lot of note taking in this class, but worth it for the exams. If he repeats it 3 times, its on exam. It's recommended to attend class to make your life easier. 4 exams, drops lowest exam of the first three exams. 10 points on HW.

He is dynamite. Going to class is imperative, but he'll make you laugh. He lectures according to the test, but the questions will really make you think; you have to understand what youre doing to get the questions correct. I took him for both Econ 1 & 2 and have no regrets. If you go to his office hours he'll go over homework, so ur guaranteed 100%

He treats the class like family; very caring. He lectures the entire class time and does not write notes on the board, so pay attention and write EVERYTHING down. Don't skip this class; you get points for showing up. He will gladly repeat anything you don't understand! Homework gets confusing, so don't be afraid to ask for help.

Professor Beebe is Fantastic. I had him for Econ1 and now 2. He is funny, teaches with substance to his phrase and terminology and genuinely wants the student to succeed! But be aware, there is homework (which you will get points for, not very much though), and there are tests. Really study your stuff and it will go smoothly!

Fred Beebe definitely lives up to the hype. If you have to take Econ, take him. You have to work to get a good grade but he's always happy to answer your questions in class and especially during office hours. Whole class is out of 100 points so it's very test heavy, so pay careful attention to what he emphasizes in class, and READ THE BOOK!

Beebe is by far the best professor I've had so far! His class is pretty lecture heavy but his energy and encouragement of participation really help keep you engaged and interested. He is pretty upfront about what information is going to be on the test.. He's super patient and you can tell he really cares about his students!

He definitely cares, but beware of the point system. There is absolutely no margin for error. 100 points total, study or fail. Do your homework or suffer the results, it makes up around 15%. Overall, he's a mensch.

Come to class every meeting prepared to participate. Read the material and ask questions if you don't understand. He explains everything very well and is more than happy to answer questions if you don't understand. Homework is straightforward and included with the textbook

Beebe is great! Beebe is a great teacher and explains concepts very well and puts it simply, and is always willing to repeat himself and answer questions. The textbook used is very interactive and crucial to understand the content. He keeps his lectures light and engaging with his jokes in class and real life connections.

Fred is a really good at what he does I took him for both econ 1 and 2 and learned a lot. It's not the end of the world if you miss a class but I wouldn't make it a habit. To get an A all you have to do is show up, take notes, and do the 10-15 minutes of HW he assigns. A super laid back class and he makes econ pretty easy.

TAKE HIS CLASS!!! I was extremely terrified at first bc he literally just talks while you write notes but he only talks about what'll be on the test! He drops your lowest test score but beware the class is out of 100 points so every question you get wrong is a 1% down in your grade!! As long as you attend class & pay attention, you will pass!!

One of the best prof's at the school. BEWARE, only 100 points in the class so every point matters, do all the homework. It is short. Pay attention during lectures and write down what he says. He wants you to do well and answers all questions. I didn't know anything about econ before his class but I got an A in ECON 1 and B in ECON 2

This class can be difficult if your not into Econ. I recieved an A but had to work my butt off for it. Really helps if you do the reading and homework with the class so if you have questions about any concepts they can be cleared away before the test. As a professor he is a great guy! Very caring and genuine about what he teaches and cares for us!

The homework is easy as long as you understand the material & if not seek the in class tutor & gives full credit as long as you try. He drops your lowest exam There are 4 quizzes with 2 written problems & 20 multiple choice. Absolutely no phones allowed in class. He wants all his students to succeed & will go the extra mile to help. Record lectures

He is a super fun guy that makes the material easy to understand and stick but you have to work for your grade. Nothing difficult but he lays down what is expected very clearly and grades off a few tests and participation. If you show up and listen you will not only pass but really come to enjoy the class.

I took Beebe for a summer school class. I had to work really hard. Ex. read the book, did the homework, didn't miss class, and studied. But Beebe is a good teacher and kind man.

Fred Beebe wouldn't be my first choice but is definitely a solid professor to go with for econ. The tests are mostly the same as the hw so make sure to study that. However if you're more of a visual learner like myself and appreciate pics and exs. over someone talking about something for 1 and a half hours, maybe this isn't the class for you.

Mr. Beebe is the man!! He works very hard to make sure every student understands the material. He tells you EXACTLY what is on the test. Every time he assigns homework, the next class he spends 20-30 minutes going over any questions. The homework is almost identical to the test, so this is extremely helpful .

Fred B, is the best econ teacher I have ever had. His class fills up quick. There are 3 regular tests he drops your lowest one, plus the final. If you do the work it is an easy A. Homework is literally a duplicate of the test and he will always tell you this. Pay attention when he says, "Fred Beebee Guarantee"

He is an awesome professor, teaches Econ with passion! I loved his class and style of teaching, however, I had a HARD time with his tests. I always felt prepared, but when trying to answer the questions, they would just throw me off, big time! Two out of the four options would always sound so alike. Other students felt the same way from Econ 1 & 2.

Prof. Beebe empowers his class with trust and gives you the power to succeed. He encourages students to get together into an organized study group. I am not the best when it comes to Econ, but Mr. Beebe made it so simple for me. He would answer any question, be attentive to everyone, and reexplain something if at least one person was confused. I also recommend attending the SI sessions that are available to you, which probably helped a bit more than Beebe's class. Definitely recommend

Professor Beebe is my favorite professor of all time. I took him for micro and macro economics and I would take him for every class if I could. I highly recommend taking one of his courses. He is so smart, hilarious, amazing, and caring.

Fred Beebe is the epitome of caring. He is supportive of you, understands if you have needs, and is an awesome guy all around. Super chill and widely respected for a reason. His class is mediocre, nothing too crazy, and gives a healthy amount of workload per week. Cannot recommend this guy enough.

He is an amazing professor and likes to clarify questions when necessary. Unfortunately, he does not offer extra credit but his class was good.

If you want to take economics take his class but you will not regret it he makes the class united and interact with students. Even though the quizzes were timed the answers were in the book. The exams are easy if you understand the written homework. The teacher will respond to you within two days if you need any help or questions.

One of my favorite classes I've taken despite not liking economics. Beebe is super funny, making it easier to pay attention to lectures. Lectures are easy to follow and it's clear that he cares about his students success in the class. He goes over exactly what will be on tests and he even drops your lowest test score at the end of the semester.

Fred Beebe is a phenomenal professor that truly cares about the well being of his students. He has an excellent way of keeping his lectures interesting, always throwing in a funny anecdote and real world examples. The exams are not made to trick you, he thoughtfully prepares you, and the majority of the class performs well because of his care.

He is a caring and accommodating teacher, and is willing to reexplain a topic as many times as necessary to make sure it is understood before moving on. FAVORITE PROFESSOR EVER!!! I took him for econ 1 and 2, he was great and so was his lectures. He really cares about all his students and is very understanding. He will work with you to make sure you understand the material. He is an easy grader and not a lot of work is given outside of class. Attendance does matter and is crucial for passing!

On the first day, he's kind of intimidating, but that is to just weed out the people who don't care about his class. After that he is such a sweet guy and he will tell you that he knows that no one there is an ECON major, and all he wants is for you to pass the class and hopfully learn something along the way. Professor Beebe was a great teacher. He gave interesting lectures and the tests are fairly easy because he has good reviews prior to test days which really set you up for success. The homework isn't too time consuming and is pretty easy. Professor Beebe will give you everything you need to succeed and I would 100% recommend him.

He is a caring professor. He tries his best to teach us and have some class regulations to focus on the lectures. He cares too much about students. I can feel how efforts he want to inspire to his students. I really respect him. I appreciate it. Thank you Professor.

A chill professor that kept me accountable. He teaches well in my opinion, though I didn't put much effort in. He'd sometimes throw free points around on your tests, and was just honest with his feedback. If you want to learn and be engaged, take it with him. If you wanna be lazy, take it with him. Either way, he made econ make a lil bit of sense.

He has a very clear grading policy and only grades really hard on the final. Read the chapters, do the worksheets, and come to the lectures for participation points and you're set for his class. He can also work 1 on 1 with you during his office hours if you're struggling. Overall he just wants to see succeed in his class.

Really cool teacher who wants his students to pass. You have to make sure to read the textbook outside of class to really get what he teaches in class and attendance is mandatory most of the time but he forgets to check sometimes but he will tell you when a class is worth credit. Great teacher and checks on students often.

The best prof to help you ease into economics, he'll explain anything you want, no wrong questions. Very kind and his lectures are actually very engaging. DO NOT SKIP ON THE READING. If you can read a little bit of the textbook before the class starts do it. You have to study a lot before the exams if you want to get an A but its not hard to pass

Beebe was a hilarious Professor, he has a clear grading criteria and is very test heavy, however it is really a whole lot of work as long as you really study the material and pass his exams you should do fine. Make sure to attend almost every meeting because the subject can get really confusing.

never has a lecture gone by as fast as it does in beebe's class. super engaging, super thorough, super sweet, super respectful. do the reading and the homework and you've got a solid A. my only actual complaint are the seats in the lecture hall lol thank u Beebe!

Great professor! Understands the in and outs of Econ very well. Very good with examples and explanations. He wants you to pass his class and makes it very possible. Not too much homework, no papers, drops the lowest of your first 3 exams.

TAKE BEEBE'S CLASS!!! He is a great, loving guy and he just wants the best for his students! He breaks concepts down to be easily digestible and understands many people are in college for the first time. 3 tests + 1 final. Out of the first 3, he drops your lowest score. There are also 2 weekly assignments which can be finished in 10 minutes total.

Beebe is a great professor who really cares about his students' success. His lectures are engaging, and he explains concepts clearly. The workload is manageable - just do the readings, assignments, and study for the exams. Unstuck study was a helpful tool for my class prep.

Prof. Beebe is an amazing professor. I highly recommend you take all of your Economic classes with him. Beebe does a fantastic job explaining pretty complicated lessons into easy to understand lessons. Take my word for it, do not take his class in the "F" building. Take his class in the "T" building. "F" building seats/desks are super tiny.

My only complaint is that the seats in the T building are incredibly tiny. This man is an amazing professor and an amazing person. Respect the class rules and guidelines, and you should be good. His lectures are amazing, and the homework is easy yet helpful. You'll walk out of this class knowing something new every day. Take him.

LOVE BEEBE! Lectures are amazing and gives an easy understanding of what's on the exams. Requires reading for HW & quizzes on canvas that are easy points. Total of 3 exams, with 1 makeup exam. If u miss an exam u cannot make it up. Has a SI instructor in class that helps students with concepts they don't understand and what's on the exams.

Beebe was one of my favorite professors at LBCC. His class is simple, with three exams (lowest score dropped) and a final. Just attend, take notes, do weekly HW and engage he's interactive and encourages questions. As a lefty, me and my brother didn't like the lecture room. Since he plans to retire soon I recommend taking his class

Beebe does a great job with his lectures and using the textbook to get his students involved during each class session. He helps you prepare for each exam and even tells you what to study. I would definitely take Beebe again!

By far one of my favorite professors. He is very funny and keeps the lectures interesting. Being in class is a part of your grade due to the in class work. If you study for the exams you will do just fine. He only requires 2 pieces of homework a week, the quiz and fill in the blank. This is my second class with him and I am so glad I took his class

After having him for ECON 1, I took him for ECON 2. He is a great person who truly loves teaching. Homework is super easy, and classwork resembles exactly how the tests look. Very grateful to have taken him just before he retires. His lectures are amazing, engaging, and hilarious at times. I will miss this class, but I wish him the best!

Professor Beebe is a tremendous teacher. His class was my first ever impression of Long Beach City College, and it's safe to say my expectations were exceeded. He's a charismatic and respectful guy—as well, he makes economics easy to understand and fun. He clearly cares about his students, and inspired even those who initially showed little effort.
