Try as he may, the man can not teach.
AWESOME class. He definately knows what he's talking about!
Prof Bounds has a nice heart great guy to get along with. Just he only goes over slide show presentations and they are very boring & Not much help on tests. You have 3-4 tests a semester and they are ok.
He is a very nice guy he is strict on attend. until add/drop is over. He can not teach and he gets furstrated at his inability to convey his msg. The test are med. diff.
Very nice guy. Regardless of the other comments, if you actually read the book and study you will do fine. He is always willing to help if you need it.
This is one of the best professors at GPC. Complete the assignments read the text listen to the Lectures and make an A. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
He is a great bism teacher and lets you redo your mistakes for an easy A. In Econ he has a lot of homework and pop quizzes so if you dont like that dont take his ECON class. But BISM, ITS AN A!!
Learned practical stuff. Do homework and study for an easy A.
I had him a couple semesters ago and he is a great guy. He really helped me understand Economics. He is a great teacher!
He is a good man, but he doesn't know how to teach. He always try his best, but he still can't do it. The slides are ok, but he doesn't know how to explain them. Sometimes the students made questions and can not answered them.
Really nice guy, seemed to be genuinely interested in the material. Sometimes he had difficulty articulating what exactly he was trying to get across, but he knew that and made a point of staying on the material till everyone got it. Pretty funny as well, if that matters at all.
Very very nice guy! The Education system needs more guys like this man.I took him for macro and micro and got an A in both of these classes.
Very nice and easy going. Great guy. Although he isn't the most articulate, he tries very hard to make sure everyone understands what's going on. He really prepares you for the tests. There is extra credit, and he is funny too. I got an A in macro and micro.
Awesome guy! Very helpful in helping people do good. I wish I had taken him for ECON 2106 too. Actually cares about what he teaches. Show up, study, and do the work. Easy A.
the man is amazing. dont listen to the skeptics. does what he can to make sure you make a good grade. id say about 85% of the class made an a. just show up and you are golden. lowest quiz grade given, for those who take them, was a 60. easy class, easy teacher, easy A.
If you study the chapter vocab, you will ace the quizzes. If you do your homework (it doesn't have to be right) you will get 100's. Tests were easy. If you end up taking the final though, just study your old tests. Every question is from them. TAKE HIM! Fun and funny. Nice guy!
Nice, Nice guy! Tends to ramble and can be quite confusing, but you can't complain too much. He's a nice man who puts solid effort in his teaching. While lessons are mediocure. Tests are a BREEZE. Only downfall, you have to do the chapter work. Just silly busy work if you ask me!
very nice and friendly guy. Drops lowest test grade and quiz grades. If you do all your homework and get 80's on the tests your guarranteed an A. If your borderline bewteen grades he will help you find a way to raise your AVG. Without a doubt take Bounds.
Boring but ok. Quizzes are easy if you study.
A very cordial and funny teacher who puts his student's interest above his own. IF you can't do well in this class then you might have a real difficult time acquiring your Econ credit.
He is going to change his quizzes to essay questions and vocabulary. Do not take if you are bad at essays.
Very good Professor, explains well, funny. He said he is changing his format this summer, to seating charts, points for attendance, and more vocab/essay tests.
Very nice guy, but test format sucks!! The class argued about every test! Be prepaired to be treated like your in 2nd grade! Hard class!
if you read the book and listen, you will do fine.
Really lame, but really easy. Do the review for the quizzes and you can exempt the final with an A easy.
He is very easy. Gives a lot of E.C. Do well on all your tests and exampt the final. I took him for both econs and received an A. So if I can do it anyone can.
Best teacher ever!!! Not only is he nice, he is also very open minded and interested. He cares about his students. Very helpful. Can exempt th final with an A average on the last day of class. Just an awesome and hilarious guy, cracks me up with his jokes. I wish there would be more teachers like him!
Wonderful instructor. Gives a study guide for every test. Gives extra credit for perfect attendence. Generously grades quizzes and tests. Makes the material fun and easy to understand.
He sometimes gets himself confused, but overall a good teacher. Even if you don't fully understand the class, but you at least get descent grades on the tests then it won't be hard to get an A. Very generous
Great guy! Tries hard and loves what he does.He gives extra credit and works with your whole class on creating a curved grading scale. Just don't be late or leave class without letting him know why before hand.Study guides posted online for your convenience. Studying and work are still required for his class.Take him!
I love this guy. He is awesome! He made economics so easy to understand. I took him for Macro & Micro at the same time and got an A in both classes. He is so nice. He is willing to help whenever you needed him to. He give a lot of extra credicts that could bring your grade from 80 to 95 on a quiz.every questions is M/C only! He is also very funny
Mr.Bounds was the one of the vest professors in the school. He is very kind and helpful to anybody. I took all my business classes from him.
He is very helpful and nice teacher. His tests are not too dificcult, but still we learn a lot.I recomend him a lot.
He's hot, funny, helpful, sometimes makes you sleeping, but if you do everything and are prepared for class, you'll be cool with him. He is awsome, I enjoyed being in his class a lot and will miss him. Very nice guy and does not have favorites.
This is a good teacher to take. If you have ANY questions you can go to this office and he will take his time to explain any questions. TAKE THIS TEACHER ! ! !
Is he trying to give an A away or what?Profesor Bounds gives his students every opportunity in the world to get extra credit for a A in the class. Unfornuately, some people have mistaken his kindness for weakness, and therefore, the generosity ends after the fall semester. No more being exempt from final. However, still take him, he made suprise u.
Professor Bounds is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is very good at explaining difficult things and making them easy to understand. His tests are straight forward and to the point. He is very interested in what his students have to say whether about school or personal life. I wish I had taken my first econ class with him.
This guy is great. I enjoyed the class and his teaching methods so much that I am taking him again next semester. Do your homework, come to class, and study for the tests-You'll easily make an A or a B. Wants students to be involved in current events & understand what's going on around them.
BEST ECON TEACHER EVER!!! I WOULD TELL ANYONE TO TAKE HIM
teacher is alright. watch for infractions.
Worst teacher ever! Do not take!
He is a great teacher. Watch for infractions! He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. Is very fair when it comes to grading. He does want his students to do well and it shows. A lot of the class is lecture, but his notes are very helpful. Always gives study guiedes for the test that are pretty straigt foward.Just a great teacher overall!
Nice teacher, not borin at al.
He's so nice and fair, really cares about his students. You really need to study for the tests. There will be several quizes for every chapter, but it's easy matching stuffs. He likes asking questions about key terms and logical functions of ECON during his class period. Overall, great prof. but not for an easy A. I studied hard to get an A.
Great teacher! He offered extra credit for every test last semester. He loves his students and makes the class fun. GPC needs more teachers like him.
He was very unorganized. Most of the time he didnt start class until 15 min, because he was late. He does give extra credit, tests are sort of difficult. The final is consisted of the same if not exact questions from previous tests. You have to study hard to get an A
Bounds is professional, knowledgeable, and willing to go the extra mile when he sees that a student is trying. You get what you put into the class: read the text before class, pay attention, ask questions, and study hard, and you will get a great grade.
Bounds, I know you are reading this! haha,... no complaints!
very nice but gives homework every damn day comeon and he takes it up , very hard to make an A and calls on you to make sure you did the homework , and it's only Econ it shouldnt be this dang hard , take an easier teacher for this waste of time class.
He's a good guy, although it was hard for him to cover every chapter. You basically have to read up the textbook on your own, and he'll clarify anything in class. He gives extra credit for every test, so no big complains about that. Econ is hard, so try to keep your head up and your eyes open because you'll be asking to repeat questions a lot.
Really cool teacher. He is very helpful and actually cares about the students. If you have a problem, just talk to him; he will listen and do whatever he can to help you make it through the class. Overall, the class is not that hard and he makes it easier.
he is a good man, but he spends way too much time going over homework. i do believe that your grade depends heavily on how much effort you put in the class. tests are not impossible just study hard.
He is a great teacher! Thanks for all your help, I definitely recommend this teacher to other students!
He knows his stuff but he ikes to go off on tangents a lot.
Great Class. Read the chpters and make sure you understand what you are reading, do homework (some of the answers are in text book's web site), take advantage of extra credit. Guarantee A if you do what I said. Gotta read though
Professor Bounds is an excellent professor; he really knows economics; he is willing to help you if you need help after class. You can earn a lots of extra points by doing your homework; it requires prior reading of the chapters. He is also very FUNNY!!!!!!!
Hey Gang!! (It's what he says coming in to class everyday.) Professor Bounds is a great teacher. He really cares about your grade and success in his class. He gives a good bit of extra credit so it is hard not to get an A if you do the work. His tests are not bad either because he gives you the essay questions that are going to be on them
He is good techer and explain his lecture very well. however if u get on his bad side he can make ur semester harder that it should, make sure u are there 5 min before class start or he can end up taking point out of ur grade. Test are stupid easy and as well as final. Group assigment sucks if u are stuck with some lame people and he wont care.
Mr. Bounds is a really good teacher, he gets off track sometimes but he offers tons of extra credit and tons of extra help. I made a B with very little effort.
Funny, considerate to students, and willing to answer any question.
He is kinda hard to understand at some points, but he gives easy tests if u just read the book and study. I took him for ECON 2105 and 2106 because I liked him so much!
Good teacher but sometimes confuses even himself but his tests are very easy as long as you study the study guide and skim the chapters. Definitely take him.
he's a nice guy, but he confuses himself which makes the material hard to grasp. i was a summer transient student from uga and found his class to be boring and harder than other gpc classes i had taken. if you're looking for an easy a then this isn't your class.
Fred is the man! I loved having him for a teacher, he may confuse himself a bit, but he is awesome. Just study and participate and you will do fine. If you do neither, then it will be hard, but just crack open the book and raise your hand and you'll get an A
OMG! He's a best teacher ever. I don't say his test is super easy (you should study), nor he explains very well all the time. But he really like all of his students. It was very amazing. He will help you when you ask. He is very nice. I got A- in his class, then you will get 100.
Not very organized & structured. He gets off topic alot & confuses himself a lot, too. I did not learn anything from him by going to class. I had to learn eveything for my self before a test. He is a nice guy but wouldn't reccomend him. You can also excempt the final if you have an A, but only 3 people had an A by the time finals came around.
i took his SURB 1105 class online and it was alot of reading. i read basically the whole book. overall the class was a good bit of work but he was a good teacher. he really cares about where the future of his online classes are going. the tests are kind of hard and there is a paper at the end of it. overall would recommend.
He is a little scatterbrained, but he's a great teacher. He really cares about his students, and he's funny. The online hw helps a lot w/understanding the material. Read the book and *participate* in class; he likes that. This class is not an easy A, but if you study you'll be fine.
He's a very funny and nice teacher. However, the material is not easy. You must read the textbook and participate in class in order to get a good grade. But overall, I really liked Professor Bounds :)
I actually wanted to go class just because he is such a great teacher and funny guy. He is the best teacher I have take at GPC. Take him you won't regret it. Hurry!...his classes fill up quickly.
Little Funny, must teach yourself the subject, his lectures are not very interesting and he skims thru the powerpoint quickly and sometimes goes off topic, easy A if you put the effort.
Ok... Enjoyed his class but that is because i like ECON!! He can be fustrating at times but i cant complain... I would hang out with him and drink a few beers but would not take his class agian..
You will need to study the textbook on your own and do all the online homework/practice tests to do well. Don't rely on this professor to teach. He is unorganized and almost never prepared for class, but he is nice and sometimes funny.
I liked Prof. Bounds' class. He enjoys the subject matter and is helpful to those who ask. He does have the audacity to expect you to read the book, and ask questions in class if you don't understand something. He's a pretty cool guy. His class is easy going. he does not hand out many assignments, so you'd better make them count.
AVOID HIM IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE!!! He is the laziest teacher so far I've had in GPC! You need to read the textbook, do online tests and quizes on your own. The reason is because he is too lazy to prepare for class. 50% of your final grade comes from your midterm and final which will be held in class. If you do well in online classes, then take him!
worst teacher I have had in GPC, he doesn't explain anything and doesn't even know what he is talking about, avoid him... is like taking an online course..
Mr. Bounds is a sweet man, but he should NOT be a teacher. He's good to take for a high grade if you can handle reading the book and letting that teach you the material. Don't even try asking him questions; when it comes to clear explanation about specific economic concepts, he's an idiot. He's also way too lazy to prepare in advance for lectures!
What proffesor doesn't want you to read and learn on your own. Bounds give you plenty of opportunity to make the grade you desire. For those that complan, they have no self motivation, and want to be fed with a silver spoon.
He is d best prof.He just wants u to read. He like when u give ans in class. I enjoyed his class. ya u have to read all things by urself but he is flexible, give u alot of oppotunity to get gud grades. Follow his study guide just read those. u wl be fine. Ask him que n take his help. if one dont like to read DONT TAKE HIM. otherwise HIGHLY RECOMMDE
Easy teacher! You basically read & learn on your own at first & take online quizzes but he goes over them. Plus, he gives you several chances to ask questions in class. If the class is having trouble with something..speak up && he'll delay a quiz or test and extend the time limit. Easier than taking Econ in high school.
Prof Bounds is nice and funny to listen to, but lectures are nowhere near worth attending. The only reason to go to class is the pop quizzes. All work is almost entirely textbook based.
This class isn't hard at all and if I made an effort and went to class I bet I'd get a good grade. However, I'm lazy and don't go to class often, don't study, and do the homework (all online) on time. So far, I have a B-. If you made any sort of effort, you'd do great in this class. Also, Mr. Bounds is funny.
An "A" is possible, but it does require doing the work. I think what really bothers me here is that it seems like he has just given up being engaged with the material or the students and is just doing time to retirement. He can be both sarcastic and obtuse, which is not encouraging.
He is one of the best teachers I have had. Its an easy A. All you need to do is read the textbook. He gave my class one extra credit assignment and it was around 300 points, so its worth doing. And he goes over study guides before tests and offers help when you need it. Extends test dates when you need it. Online quizzes and drops some at the end.
Hey is a nice teacher. I think he is one of the teachers who cares about the students. You ask him a question and he will answer it for you. He sets his office hours for students convenience. You have to do alot of my econ lab and honestly it is a good tool to learn. Also if you struggle with speaking english, he is caring and willing to help.
Prof. Bounds truly cares about his students and wants to see them succeed. Study hard, come to class, follow his instructions, and you will get an A! p.s. He has a sarcastic sense of humor... which is great! :)
Mr. Bounds is easy and gives extra credit opportunities. Highly recommended.
SUPER prof!!!!
Very helpful and caring, although his lectures are pretty boring in class. He's one of the nicest professors and he'll go out of his way to help you if you need it. There are homework assignments online that you have to do which are very helpful for preparing for the tests. Take him!
He is very friendly and helpful professor. Tests are not easy, but you will be fine if you work on Myeconlab(purchase required). You will be given extra credits.
Decent teacher. He tends to ramble a little bit when he lectures (which is every class), but he is very nice. His tests are pretty hard, but if you do the Myeconlab homework, you should be fine. He goes over the material a lot so you need to pay attention.
boring. can't teach. he only reads off the powerpoint in which he downloads from the book publisher's site (u can do it at home yourself). contradict himself alot & loves to ramble off. doesn't give a clear definite answer. but at least he could care less what you doing in class.
I don't suggest that anyone take professors Bounds' class. I am typing this while I'm in class because his class progresses very slowly. Today's class started at 11:00 and he didn't finish reviewing yesterday's test until 12:00. I do though like that he calls on people to answer questions as opposed to expecting his students to participate.
He is a nice teacher, rambles & reads off power points, the book does a better job teaching. The Research Project is 20% of the grade & u will Not Find 50% of the info that he specifies you to have in the report! Yes so u will fail the project. Both online quizzes and in class tests. If u want to transfer with good GPA DO NOT take Him he's Overrated
Like all great things in life, you have to work to earn a good grade in his class. In fact, if you don't have to work hard to earn a good grade, you are likely being shortchanged on your eduation. I recommend this professor. You will be entertained by his lectures.
he's very nice. willing to help. gives study guides for all the tests. you'll have 3 tests plus a final. lots of extra credit opportunities. fairly grader. you have to work to get an A. homework is very easy.
He's a really great guy, and will go out of his way to help you and make sure you understand if you ask. However, he's very spacey and scatterbrained. We didn't get to all of the topics we were supposed to cover. He gives a lot of extra credit, and intro econ classes are never hard anyways.
The run down, econ is a hard subject, but he doesn't make it any easier. 4 test including final. many quizzes usually 2-3 between tests and drops 1. no curve or drops on test. Homework on econ is easy. READ before class is a must. Recommend a tutor if you take his class.
He's really random so he rarely stays on topic when teaching. Doesn't have study guides. Tests are hard and even he gets confused when reviewing them. He's a nice guy and will help everyone pass but I felt like I didn't learn anything.
Great professor and very helpful. Interesting lectures. Study the study guide and do the homework, and you will do well in his class. Took him for 2105 and 2106.
In a nutshell: Professor Bounds is a real nice (hilarious) guy. Can sometimes get confused on the material at hand and has weekly quizzes. But with all of the resources online with MyEcon Lab, I found it very hard to not do well in this class. Bounds has extra credit assignments, so as long as you don't doze off during lectures (guilty), You good!
HE DOESNT TEACH.. his class is all in "my Econ lab" on online lab where he post quizes and even 2 of the 4 test.. class is required but pointless cause you learn nothing.. he's funny and nice but I wouldn't recommend him as a teacher
He tries his best. But he's terrible. He doesn't know how to teach Econ. His only experience in Econ is his own bussiness that he runs. He either lectures and get off topic or fails his own quizzes in front of class. Going to class is "required" (kinda sorta) but completely pointless. Cool guys, terrible teacher.
Goes off topic every single class. He goes over quizzes in class & gets confused & gets the wrong solutions. He has even said that he would fail his own class. Gives up to 4-5 points of extra credit. Quizzes & lots of homework every week. 4 tests. If you get an A, you can be exempt from the final. Not an easy class for a non-business major.
He really cares about your grade. He offers a lot of chances to improve your grade. And he gives lots of quizzes and homework so you will have a higher average.
I usually don't write negative reviews but in this case I'm going to make an exception because I wish someone had warned me. Hands down the worst professor I've ever had. He simply doesn't teach. Be prepared to get a tutor or teach yourself. Do yourself a favor and take this class with any other professor. Extra credit offered but no other help.
Worst professor I've ever had! He spent more time talking about his trips to China than anything related to economics. Very frustrating to sit for an hour and fifteen minutes without being taught anything useful for exams, homework quizzes, etc. If that weren't bad enough, he doesn't seem to care about his students. Find another professor.
He's an OKAY professor. The class was very boring. He's a nice guy but not the best teacher. His tests aren't bad either, just study the material! Offers so many extra credit opportunities. TAKE THEM! I did not. I could have had an A but I ended up with a B+ because I didn't take extra credit.
Absolutely horrible! At the end of the class, I had an 89.9 and he wouldn't round up to an A. I wouldn't wish him on my worst enemy. He has absolutely no sympathy for his students. He will not help you or do anything to accommodate you even if you have a death in the family or are dealing with a serious illness. I saw this first hand.
Worst professor I've ever had. He doesn't use lesson time to teach instead he talks about his personal interests. Doesn't care about his students. Has no interest in helping students even under extreme circumstances. Do yourself a favor, take this class anyone else.
