Awesome teacher. He has a great attitude and keeps one thinking. There are several essays, but he will go out of his way to help you pass. I would only take English with D'Astoli.

His class gets filled up very fast. He will say he won't add anyone, but if you stay around enough he will add everyone. Very nice, helpful, and will go out of his way to help you. He is what a college professor should be like.

Mr. D is a really cool guy. Anyone that has anything against him is completely wrong. He is always available for help with your work. And I guarantee he will always bring a smile to your face. Very funny teacher, great guy, so take him!

He is the best teacher at coc. He really knows his stuff. No other english teacher will explain things better. There is a bunch of work at times but he worth taking. I won't take anybody else.

Mr. D is a good teach. The only problem is that he gives too much homework and it's very difficult to pass his class.

Fred D'Astoli is far and away the most accomplished English teacher. A couple of lessons with him and you will have learned the whole concept of free verse, and the literary spirit of the age. Also v kind, goes out of his way to help. Plays great piano!

Great teacher who is in tune with college students. He has a sense of humor which can make class more enjoyable. I actually learned more about literature in his class than in any other because the class was bearable. Doesn't overload with work like most

He is the best teacher I've ever had. He is very funny and will randomly run into a wall. I will never forget his class. I was able to remember everything he taught because he made it so interesting.

Yup,this man is the best! Though if it weren't for all the dumb idiots in the back of the room who don't care about learning, he could teach us so much more. Instead he has to spend half of the time getting the kindergarteners in the back to shut up!He handles it well though and he makes me laugh all the time. Go Mr. D!!!

One of the best teachers I've ever had!

I enjoyed this class. It is a fairly easy class, but you do learn a lot and he makes it very clear of what is expected of you to get an A. He is so funny too! It is like having Steve Martin for an English teacher. I will definetly take his classes again. Some of his jokes can be somwhat offensive though, but you can tell he doesn't mean it.

Mr. D'Astoli was a good teacher, and I did enjoy his class. I took 103, which was a broad subject, making the class really simple no matter how hard you worked. 4 papers, quizzes, in-class midterm and final. There is no reason why you shouldn't do well in this class. Nice professor, and worth taking.

Nearly everything I know about literature I learnt from this man. He is absolutely the best, and he wants his students to be the best. I can't say enough good things about him, and he wouldn't believe it anyway!

I took this class in winter session and the pace was really fast, but Prof. D'Astoli did a great job at keeping the work load possible. He is open to suggestions and deeply cares for his students. Prof. D'Astoli is great...you should take him for as many English classes as you can. He makes learning fun and enjoyable. Time flies in his class. :

Mr. D is the coolest, but maybe a little too cool. He's got a huge fanbase, which means his classes get more than their fair share of bozos because he's so popular. If you can't sit still in class and listen, then maybe you're not ready for college yet, Mr. D. seemed to say in each class session as he referred to us as the COC Middle School. Bozos.

He's the biggest kid in the room. Is one of my favorite teachers at this college! You can really learn a lot from him if you go to class and do the reading.

I wish there are more professors like him. Getting an 'A' is like given. A little bit of work on your side, participation, and the rest is a breeze. Cool and very kind (that's why a lot of kids take advantage of him)

Awesome teacher and a great man! I got an "A" on every single paper in that class and had a fun time being in it. You do have to work to get an "A" on your papers though, but it's not as impossible to get one like it is with some teachers.

Take him for whatever class he is teaching! I took him for 102 and loved him so much, and now I'm taking him for 261. Great teacher, the only problem is he is not the greatest planner. There is no class schedule at the beginning and he just updates it as the class goes on, but other than that he's great.

This Teacher is my heart. He is like a dead poet society Robin Williams, so brilliant, so funny so encouraging and helpful. I would take him for what ever he is teaching. He will be one of those teachers who you never forget.

Greatest professor i have even taken.His class is fun, and he is very entertaining. He does require to be on time with assignments, and is very good on grading. I cant wait to take him for 101. Prof. D was quiet and boring, but not in a bad way. I was very sick while attending his class. He was very understanding with my physical well-being. It was an easy A with hard effort into the 4 essays during the semester. DO the essays, They are your grade!! Follow the readings for the class and it will be cake. NO HOMEWORK! but book is required!

Love this professor. He is hilarious and always lets class out early. He would have these "drafting" days where you basically just got to leave class. I really enjoyed the class and did manage to learn a lot despite the laid back mode of class. Make sure to do classwork, and your essays!

Mr. D. is just great. id say you have to have a sense of humor to take his class because hes always doing random stuff and making random sounds to try and get everyone to laugh. His essays are pretty simple as long as you pay attention in class. same goes for quizzes as long as you study a little bit the night before your set. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

He is a really funny guy, looks and sounds like Leslie Nielson. The workload is low and simple, although sometimes he doesn't clarify things, but usually does better if you ask.

Absolutely wonderful professor!! Helpful, passionate, kind, funny (quirky:)), caring, professional, intelligent... I learned quite a lot from him. I would say that the biggest challenge is the many rude, disrespectful students in his class. He gets frustrated with them and that's completely justified. Before taking his class I was dreading taking the class. He is one of the best professors I have ever taken. He is very funny, fair and most of all helpful. Mr. DÁstoli was the best teacher I have had at College of the Canyons. I began to respect english classes more after I took his course. He who would give a lot of feedback on your papers. If you got low grade he allowed you to redo the paper within a certain time frame. Don't take advantage of his sweet personality, he deserves more than that.
