This internet class was a breeze. You meet twice- midterm/final- and Feldon gives you "example questions" for both tests. You do have to turn in your homewk, but it gets peer graded when you meet... so credit either way. Easy class, cool teac

Very Fair and willing to take time with students.

Fred Feldon encourages his students and knows their names! This is an internet class, but he makes himself available to students in person as well as online. Great explanations, make things clear...and this is math!

As easy a calculus class as you'll get. He makes a lot of efforts to help you get through the material, but the lectures are really tedious. Gives VERY helpful test reviews that'll basically show what'll be on the test. If you can survive the lecture (4 hrs. long with a 30 min. break) take this!

Several people in my family have had this teacher. He is wonderful - he's invested and committed to doing whatever is needed to help the student succeed and doesn't mind any questions the student has. In fact, he encourages them! I really enjoyed his class.

The versatility and flexibility of his summer class were incredibly helpful. At first I was anxious to take the class, as I had to attend another school at the same time. Yet Mr Feldon made things easy and everything was a complete success.

Loved him. Somehow he makes everyone who takes his class love math, even if they hated it before. Its hard but if you study and do the homework...you'll do ok. He is really easy going and lets late work slide. He knows you have lives outside of school. Great man, great teacher, Lots of help!

He goes totally out of his way to help you pass the class. extra credit, bonus questions on every quiz, midterm, and final. he even goes over some of the problems that will be on the test right before the test! Professor Feldon is a VERY understanding teacher and is caring for his students. I would recommend his class to any struggling math students. He teaches math the way it should be taught! With a lot of patience and leeway for mistakes.

You must have a mental retardation of some sort if you get lower than an A. He GIVES you the questions for the midterm and final, which are all the quiz questions! He is very clear about the tests and reviews questions most frequently missed on the tests before the test! One page of notes, front and back for midterm and final!

Fred is the best math teacher you could ever ask for. I'm not a math guy, but this is probably the most interesting math you could take, since it relates to the real world, but it's not just the topic, Fred really wants you to succeed, and makes the class more bareable than he could have. Do the work, spend some time studying, you'll do well!

I?ve taken loads of online classes and have never had a professor go so above and beyond as Professor Feldon did. I am admittedly not the easiest student to have but he not only helped me with every single question I had for him but he also motivated me to put in the time and effort to pass the course. I was nervous to take it since I had only completed Math 30. Prof. Feldon made the material very understandable and math as enjoyable as possible. You'll laugh a lot in his class, can't speak for online students but I recommend the live teacher version. It's not an easy "A" but if you go to class and pay attention then you'll do fine.

I have never had a teacher who actually cared so much about his students. He's very understanding to students students persons problems. I'm sooo happy I have Feldon as my Calculus teacher. He is very nice and very intelligent and above all else truly cares about his students. Most teachers have turned me off to math but he has really turned that around. He has a very soothing voice very akin to Larry Mantle of NPR. Feldon is a pretty good teacher. Although he is easy to me, you cannot pass this class doing nothing. You still have to know your stuff kind of. His grading is: Midterm-29%,Final-29%,6 online quizzes-29%, Homework-8%, and Participation-5%. Homework and quizzes are due at the end of the semester. He gives a midterm&final review which helps a lot

Professor Feldon is good. He's a bit quirky in a really cool way. If you are really good at math, stick to the online, if you need more help take the actual class. He'll play music, and posts all notes for review. There's a midterm/final review, and if you can do the problems, you'll as the actual test.

all homework and quizzes are online. midterm and final in class and are directly from the review he gives you. He'll let you borrow a calculator. No need for textbooks because its on the website. Doesn't matter if your in class or online, you can attend either one. Very flexible on due dates.

Professor Feldon is an awesome instructor. However, if you struggle with Algebra, don't take this course online for 8-wks. Take Feldon in class if you struggle with Math. I want to take the time to thank you for being so flexible with students. I have yet to meet any other math teacher that held an online review, and made it available to students that could not attend the actual meeting. Also, lowering the expectation of a "C" to 65% is more than considerate.

Prof. Feldon's online class utilizes MyMathLab = BIG help b/c it offers the option to go over every question you have trouble understanding. Very engaged Professor. He is a fair grader and he is helpful. Reviews the midterm + final w/ class. Minimum book use to pass w/ a low-A. Read it if you want an A+. Recommended.

great Prof!!!!! I took his online 8 week course and although I am not the best at math I still manage to get an A! He responds really fast to emails and discussion questions. You have to take the midterm and final in person.....listen to everyone, he is great!

Mr.Feldon is AWESOME! I suck at math! I have never had a teacher that was more understanding than him. Many professors forget that they were once students too! and that we also have a life, work, and family. Do good on the 6 quizes, midterm, and final and forget about the homework (worth like 8% of the class) I did! Again, I'm an average student.

I am writing this simply because of the last rater. He is a great teacher. He is always checking and responding to everyones questions in the forums, and encourages people to participate so you can learn by helping others. He allows one page of notes for the tests, and gives you a study guide that almost mirrors the actual test. Two thumbs up!!

I took his math c100 online class for spring 2012 and enjoyed it.You have 8 quizes with unlimited time and 3 tries for each one online, 2 test which consist of 20 question fill in the blank which are in person,&hw which is all online and easy, and a video project. if you need help, he will help you. Best teacher ive taken at ccc. Highly recommend.

Extremely helpful and kind teacher! He replies to all questions pretty quickly on the question board. He's always willing to help. Obviously you need to work for that A, and calc isn't easy, especially if you do nothing. Enthusiastic guy and shows that he loves teaching math, hard to find that now a days.

His non-threatening approach and ability to stay in touch with emails and the discussion board for a number of different classes is impressive and almost as If he is not working alone. Not to mention his taste in music that he is enthusiastic about sharing with his classes and explaining why it is even good for us to listen to it and do math!

Everything everyone else has said about him is absolutely correct. His enthusiasm, care, and sincerity towards his students can be felt even through his web bulletins and e-mails. Rapid responses to questions and he's tech savvy so e-mail responses are just as good as an in-person response when you need his help on math problems. Take his class!

I have struggled with math my entire life. I almost flunked out of high school because of it, and was contemplating dropping out of college because I never thought I'd be able to get over the hump. This review is long overdue as I took Prof Feldon's Liberal Arts Math class back in Spring of 2010, to fulfill the CSU math requirement. I am so glad I took his class! Mr. Feldon was an outstanding teacher. I was very anxious about taking college algebra online and even though he was thousands of miles away, he was better help than most brick-and-mortar teachers i have had. Very quick to respond and very understanding of technical difficulties.

Took his accelerated math class and I am so bad at math, but his class is like a cheating loophole to an A. Everything is on My Mathlab and you get a lot of tries to get everything right. I took the 8 week course. Yes it was fast-paced, but it was doable if you try and put a lot of time into the class. Some students couldn't keep up, but I believe that if you read the textbook and understand it then you should be fine! I got an A. He's an amazing teacher! I HATED math until I took Fred's class. He made me feel safe and comfortable in his room, and that meant the WORLD to me! I gave him the chile pepper because his heart and soul are HOT!I also think his boyish charm and friendly demeanor make him kinda cute as well. Syllabus was complete and thorough. The quizzes and tests were appropriate for the material covered. Professor communicated with class often, via the blog/forum and email, and was timely. He is funny, professional, encouraging and helpful. Math is difficult for me; however, he made it palatable. I would recommend the professor to others!

I would HIGHLY recommend Fred Feldon for anyone who has difficulty understanding math. I took him for Business Calculus and he will go out of his way to help you as long as you put effort into the class and participate. Ive had a lot of different math professors from CCC, OCC, and GWC and I would recommend Fred first.

A decent amount of online hw and 7 online quizzes. 1 midterm and 1 final that count for a good chunk of your final grade. I would highly recommend him because he goes out of his way to make sure you understand the material. What you get on the final exam can count as your final grade in the class if you choose to not do hw or quizzes like I did.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Mr. Feldon. He is very helpful, and clear. His work lead is reasonable and is you follow his schedule you'll do just fine. I took an online class during summer. Homework is reasonable if you put in the effort. Don't be lazy! I love using my math lab because it's flexible! You can finish the hw & quizzes anytime as long as it is done before the semester ends. Love it! Don't need the book, just learn from the examples from my math lab.

Professor Feldon built this course to help those who want to learn Calculus at their own pace. Quizzes and Exams are weighted heavily so make them a priority (Study Review Material). If you have a busy life and need FLEXIBILITY take this class. Professor Feldon provides a plethora of resources and responds promptly to discussions and e-mails.

It has been the most flexible and student friendly class I have ever taken, not just in math but in general. Math can be overwhelming but he definitely gives every student the tools to succeed as well as unconditional support. I am horrible at math. I communicated with Mr. Feldon about my weakness in math. He pushed me to keep trying. He never made me feel bad about my lack of knowledge when it came to the course. I think, if you received a bad grade in professor Feldon's class, then you weren't putting in any amount of effort. He responded to emails and forum discussions within hours, even on weekends. I took the online Math 100 class and it was a good class! I am NOT a math person, but I was able to do the work, and when I had questions or even fell behind, Mr. Feldon was really great and worked with me. I took College Algebra online over the summer 2015 with Professor Feldon. It was a lot of homework but it was also an 8 week class. There were a few tests, a Mid-Term & Final. I did o.k. on the Mid-Term but bombed the final because I wasn't prepared. He is very personable & will calculate your grade in 3-different ways to give you the best score.

This professor was great. He was extremely interactive with everyone during the intense 4 week online math 30 class. If you had a question he would answer in a fast manner. He wanted to make sure everyone passed.

He really cares about everyones grade and will do his best to give you the best grade possible. Feldon is really nice and caring, and will give you plenty of freedom to do assignments in your own time throughout the semester.3 assignments a week. 8 quizzes, 2 tests, 1 project total. But procrastinate like I did and u will probably die of stress lol

Retook professor Feldon for Business Calculus and passed with a breeze. He's extremely caring and quickly answers your questions on the discussion board. The midterm & final were similar to the study guide that he provided. He also offers extra credit opportunity on the online discussion board as well. Wished I took him sooner. He's amazing!

Took Prof. Feldon after a string of bad professors in Business Calc. He made passing possible for me and truly wants everyone to pass. The class is by no means easy as expected,but just do what he says and you will be successful. Get 100% on all the homework (unlimited tries) and taking your time on the online quiz is a must.

I have tried to pass math so many times I actually gave up for a while. I took Mr. Feldons class because of his rating here, and it was the BEST decision. He is caring, smart, and makes the material SO understandable. He wants you to pass and gives you every opportunity to make it happen. He also has an in class tutor. Take his class!!

Feldon is everything you want in a prof. The 100 class is online, and he lets you take it entirely at your leisure with NO LATE PENALTIES ALL SEMESTER. You can take the midterm or final (in person only) before or after its actual date, if needed. Hes SO helpful, funny, and gracious. Need extra credit? Ask. He CARES about students!! No one better!!

Math is hard for me. But, Mr. Feldon was so helpful and supportive. He made the discussion board a place where students could help and encourage each other, and he was online several times a day, answering our questions and giving us helpful tips to make sure we were able to learn. Now I'm interested in math and hope to take another of his classes.

One of community college's best professors. He truly cares. 030 is Intermediate Algebra. I took it during winter intercession and there is A LOT of homework. This kind of math is easy for me. If you want an A and want to finish all your homework(not absolutely necessary) you need to put in 40-60 hours a week for winter intercession.

Flexible, didnt have a due date for every assignment. He gives you multiple attempts on quizzes, and for the midterm and final 1 page of notes. Very helpful and Flexible. Always there to help you!

Clearly the best professor at Coastline. This class moves fast as hell but he makes it fair and gives you every chance possible to make sure we all pass. Overall whole hearted guy and loved being in this class for Spring 2018.

Overall Prof. Feldon is a caring and supportive math professor. If you are someone who can learn math online and have a busy schedule then this class is for you. Everything you will learn within the course is on PearsonMyLab&Mastering and he allows you to submit assignments at your own pace. There is 1 essay, 2 exams (in person), and 4 quizzes.

What a sweetheart. Professor Feldon is flexible and extremely kind. He equips you with whatever you need, he posts study guides, videos, offers extra credit, and wants you to succeed. Online class was 3 lessons a week, or one quiz a week. I'm bad at math so it was very challenging for me, took me anywhere from 3-10 hours a week to keep up.

Professor Feldon really cares about his students. I struggle with math my whole life. I doubted myself when taking his class, but he taught it so well that I passed at the end. He's given me hope for my other math courses I need. Such a wonderful teacher. I will definitely recommend him.

I took it in intersession with him and I learned WAY more in 4 weeks than I did in 16 week classes with other profs. He cares so much and wants you to pass. Took math 30 as an intersession class, 4 weeks! I learned far more in this class than any other math class. He doesn't try to stump you or make it overly difficult, he cares a lot and makes the material palpable. Lets you use a page of notes and always responds to your emails, discussion board etc. I wish I would have taken him sooner!!!

I took this class during intersession so the level of difficulty for me was INSANE. 16 weeks worth of work in only 4 but Professor Feldon is hands down the most phenomenal professor I've ever had. He's so caring and passionate about what he does. He's easy going, flexible and especially accommodating with due dates. A great person, and professor.

Professor Feldon is The Best Math Professor I have ever had without a doubt. I took "Intermediate Algebra C030" during the winter intersession and it was intense, with a lot of homework. Clear examples, active discussion board & help, clear grading. He lets you bring notes for proctored exams (2), improve quiz & hmwk to get grade you need!

Professor Feldon is easily one of the best I've ever had. Calculus is difficult, but he is right there when the going gets tough. He arranges the class so the students help each other get through tough lessons. His main asset is that he clearly cares about each student. This is the perfect class for people who have taken calculus before. You mainly have to teach yourself by reading the book, but he is always accessible to answer questions, and does so in a very timely manner. Very nice prof that does everything in his power to help you pass. The review sheets are VERY similar to the exams. Be smart. Take him!!!!

Took his online class for business calc. Best calc professor hands down. Made things extremely easy. Gives you every opportunity to get the A. No good reason for you not to pass. Exams are literally the study guide. Same exact prob or same prob with different numbers. Study guides are your life. Do them over and over and over. Guarantee you'll pass

I adore this professor. He actually wants you to pass his class. I am horrible at math and I live 336 miles away from the school so I needed a proctor for my midterm and final. I passed the midterm I am going to take the final soon but I am confident that I will pass. Also the homework is very helpful. He also lets you use a cheat sheet.

For 21 years I avoided math and graduation due to my fear of the subject. I tried and failed 4 times but decided to give it one more try. Not only did I pass, I got an A. Professor Feldon makes the class very flexible. The midterm and Final have firm due dates however the homework and quizzes can be done anytime and you can go back and improve them for credit towards your grade. There is a class discussion board to ask questions that either he or other students will answer for you.

I was dreading taking math. This class and specifically Prof. Feldon completely changed my attitude towards math and math classes. He is the best professor and genuinely cares about his classes and each person as an individual. He made the class very straight forward and easy to understand. Before taking this class, I was very nervous and had a limited understanding of basic mathematics but thus far, I have an A grade. Hard work and a time commitment are required to pass the class but it is well worth it. Professor Feldon is the best possible Professor.

This instructor should be an ambassador for defining a framework for what online learning should look like. He is 100% flexible on time and pacing of coursework completion. Quarterly zoom meetings to make sure students understand the material. Homework and quizzes are not timed. No late assignments, so you can go at your own pace. Professor Feldon is the most supportive math teacher I've ever had, all my life I've had a fear of math and never had the support I needed until his Liberal Arts Math. HIGHLY recommend.

Everything is written clearly for you to understand what he expects, there's plenty of extra credit and he does his best to be availble for you.
