Worst teacher I ever had. You could email the guy a question you had and he would make you feel like the biggest idiot and that's only after he took 2 days to get back to you.

Why do schools allow teachers to carry 7 or eight classes? This guy had no time at all to try to teach or help. His material in the class was full of errors, and when pointed out, he would only chang your grade. I had to let the others in class know.

He takes for ever to get back with you, if you email. He answers students in an online class, all in caps. He never answers the question asked. You must keep waiting, for any help. I feel he is passive agressive, & it is time to retire. I am not a disgruntled student, I received an A.

This guy is an a** hole. He doesnt help you and takes forever to respong to your emails if he responds. He can careless if you pass the class. Most of the time I fell as though he wants you to fail so he can get more money. He needs to retire.I would not recommend anyone to take this class.

Ive had this Prof. for 3 accounting classes now, I got an A in all of them only because i taught myself. He doesnt help at all and if he does respond its in all CAPS, never helpful he just says look in the syllabus. Do yourself a favor skip his class, choses a different teacher. RUDE,RUDE,RUDE>

Unhelpful and rude. He will never respond to your questions with a valid answer, just to "REFER TO THE SYLLABUS". Duh! If the syllabus was clear in the first place, maybe people wouldn't be so confused. Types in all caps. I was afraid to speak up to him because I thought that he would change my grades! Do not take this guy for the life of you!

On-line classes are hard enough and Jex is evasive. Don't bother trying to reach him any other way but through the class board on-line. He won't return telephone calls.

Fred Jex is the worst professor i have ever had. I signed up for an in class accounting lab, i got him. on the first day of class he told us he was changing it to and online class. we can go to class still, but he only pops his head in for two minutes and tells us that he would probley bother us if he were to stay. I hate him more that anything.

He never helps out. He yells at students helping each other since he wont help us and labels them as cheaters. I too his federal tax online. Me nor any of the students in the class found him helpful. We had to us the book and talk to one another int he classroom off the macomb website since he would label you as cheaters or cheating.Don't take him.

I pay tuition to be taught, not to have to teach myself. Must be nice to take a salary for doing nothing. Goes out of his way to word exams as UNCLEAR as possible just so you waste the little time you have on thinking, and re-thinking the accuracy of your answers because you're confused. This is the worst professor I had at Macomb. I was a Dean's list student for 3 consecutive semesters until his class came along. It's unbelieveable how much work he assigns for an online class. He has hurt my gpa and kept me off the dean's list this semester. This teacher needs to be fired for his difficulty. Extremely hard. Do not take him.

The 8 week online class was just too difficult. I tried it the first week and dropped it. I was lucky to find another teacher other than him on campus. Never take this professor. You will regret it.

Yeah the class is really tough and when you ask a question be prepared for a study the syallbus paper. However, if you do all the work and turn it in early you do get extra points. I managed to get an A- and thought he was easier than joyce who I had for acc 1080

Worst prof. I've ever had. His class is equal to buying the book and reading it, because he adds nothing else to the learning other than that. He doesn't offer much assistance to questions. His grading is pretty easy though, so if you just want to earn the credit, take his class. If you want to learn anything about accounting, DO NOT take his class

This professor is terrible. Worst professor at Macomb. Does not teach anything. Only answer you receive is "read the syllabus" which hasn't been updated since 2007. Claims to have PHD from University in Hawaii which is UNACCREDITED!!! and doesn't even exist anymore!! This guy is a complete JOKE!!!!

This guy is the biggest moron. He has a Ph.D. from an unaccredited university and is part of a Freemason lodge, which makes him a complete ****. He adds no substance to the course, you are basically doing work straight out of the book and he only exists to **** and cry about discussion posts. He is a useless professor that paid for his Ph.D.

This guy is horrible. He is a old, grumpy man that tries to make your life as miserable as his is. Doesn't offer assistance for anything, always says "read the syllabus", and has no respect for human kind. He does have a purchased PHD from a unaccredited university in Hawaii. He wouldn't tell me how to get one though.

He made my life misreable. He is not fair when grading homework and assignments. He gave a lof of homerowk, which was ok with me. My problem was that he was not a fair grader. If you take a class of his, you will find out.

Horrible, he is a joke. I am in an excel for accounting class (1150) and the textbook is from 2003. The text will tell you to open certain things in excel but you cant.....Why you ask? BECAUSE THE BOOK IS FOR EXCEL 2003. He grade extremelu unfairly and expects you to understand all of the things the book DOES NOT tell you to do. Don't take him.

The class itself isn't too bad. Just like other online classes, there is a lot of homework and tests, and participation is mandatory. If you are thinking about taking this class, I wouldn't recommend taking it from Professor Jex. He is not very helpful when you have questions, just gives short and vague answers, then refers you to the syllabus.

I have never taken the time to comment on this site before but Jex was so awful that I had to say something. I still passed this class with a good grade but when I had to e-mail him for clarification or with a question he would always give very unhelpful vague answers that seemed aggressive, as if he was bothers by having to help a student.

Will write you up for not participating the full requirements on an online even if its the first week of class. Provides no real assistance. I do not recommend.

Very unhelpful. Never answers your questions, just refers you to the syllabus, literally. If accounting is not your strong suit, do not take this professor. Online class had 2 required posts 5x a week. Weekly quiz, test, and a lesson-learned post. No extra credit offered, I wish the teacher was more involved.

I love the fact the students have been saying the same thing about Fred Jex on here for 14 years and I'm sure more people than I have complained to administration about him. Yet, he is STILL teaching here. Why? Yes, you will pass his class if you do all the work and posts. But will you learn anything? No. And he seriously, couldn't care less.

He is not respectful at all. When you ask questions, he copies and past from the syllables. You will have to post 7 discussion board 7 days a week and answer 2 students in each discussion. There is a stupid life lesson that he will mark you down if you don't write something that he likes. The final exam on campus is hard and no study guide.

I just dropped his acct 2270 because he was disrespectful and never answered my emails. The work was overwhelming the exams are T/F but the final is hard. Dont take him.

Not very helpful if you have questions. I asked several questions and his replies were always extremely short (like, only-a-few-words short)and not helpful at all. Be ready to teach yourself. Doesn't seem to really care.

I get that it is an online class, but you have to teach yourself EVERYTHING. He is not good at responding to questions or emails. He has been around for so long that he thinks he knows everything. His final is cumulative and there is no study guide.

Horrible teacher that does not care about his students! Dont bother asking questions because you will get a rude response. Discussions are unlocked daily and are required to respond to the forum 5 out of 7 days per week. No matter your grade, if you fail the final, you will automatically receive a non-transferable grade. Easy class despite all the discussions responses you are required to make 5 days a week. I had a B in the class but ended with a C- due to failing the final exam that there is no review for at all. Every accounting exam I have ever taken has been relatively math based, there was maybe 2 questions involving math. Also insulted me for having a CPL.

Professor Jax required us to reply to discussions twice a day every day and then reply to others. This was on top of his material which he never gave instruction to he would only give the homework and nothing on the material needed to learn before. This whole class was just trying to play catch up with the discussions and the material self taught.

The WORST professor I have ever had, ever. DO NOT take this class if you ever expect to need the prof for anything ever, if you do you will get a response that's incomprehensible and VERY rude. The exam is pass/fail, and unless you fail, the exam does not affect your grade. It all makes no sense (and yes I passed, no thanks to him) AVOID THIS PROF!

Worst of the worst! I have been in Macomb for 3 years and never had a bad professor as much as him. Don't ever expect a help from him, he is very rude and disrespectful and does not care about his students at all. Took an online class with this professor and I found this class to be run in a highly unprofessional manner. Extremely demanding work load with no guidance from the professor at all. Even when asking questions he does not provide any help. It is a 100% do it yourself class; be prepared.

Been taking classes for almost 3 years now, and Professor Jex has been the worst Professor so far. He expects you to do the discussion questions and reply to peers 2 times per day. All while being really unhelpful when you ask him about something. The workload would be manageable if he did not have such unreasonable expectations for discussions.

Second time with this professor. I had average homework score of 90 & test score of 80, yet I got a D. I messaged Professor Jex multiple times asking if I was on track and all he did was copy and pasted paragraphs from the syllabus. He doesn't care about your success and rates participation heavier than homework and tests. Absurd. Don't take him.

Absolutely horrible. AVOID taking him at all costs. I took Accounting 1080 with Chirco and got a B in the class b/c he is an amazing teacher who actually cares about his students and TEACHES. This man is not only rude if youre lucky enough to get a response, but his online course was all self taught. HIS FINAL EXAM RULE MAKES NO SENSE EITHER.

Horrible Professor. I took him because he was the last option available, and I withdrew from the class a week later. Emailed him with a question. This is the worst professor I've had at MCC. I was working 55 hours a week and taking two classes, so I didn't use my Macomb student email regularly. If I was supposed to use it, he should have informed the students. He never communicated what the weekly assignments were, nor were there any instructions available on the Macomb student portal.

He makes this simple course hard by trying to be demanding and difficult with the demands. He responds like a first generation robot and it's awful! It's unfortunate he is the only professor for these accounting courses and it's a shame Macomb has NOT let him go at this point with years of complaints and feedback!

This professor is terrible and it says a lot because I never use rate my professor. The work is a lot but easy if you focus. His responses are literally like a robot and he will never help nor accommodate you in any way.

The morgue called, Fred Jex is missing. Is the man alive? I don't think so. Mr. Fred is an absolute waste of space, matter, energy, and life. The man needs to retire and stop scamming students. "Read the text" isn't an appropriate response when a student is asking for feedback. Fred's laughing his way to the bank at all of you, take it in person.
