Yes, he is a very hard professor to have a class with. He expects you to learn the information very well, and the tests are difficult (to say it lightly). If you actually work at it though, you will do well in the class. He is almost always in his office, available for help, and is very willing to go over problems or theory with you.

This class was pretty difficult but I did well in it so it's not impossible. His lectures go pretty fast and you get assignments for lab and lecture every week. If you didn't take chemistry in high school don't take it with him because he expects you to know basic chemistry already. I think he usually teachers upper level chemistry and not chem 100

King is among the worst professors I've ever had. His exams are impossible and the course gives few real opportunities to raise your grade outside of exams. He moved so quickly and briefly brushed over MAJOR TOPICS. Prior extensive knowledge of basic chemistry is necessary in this class for success. Avoid taking Chem 103 with King at all cost!!!!!!

Dr. King is a very bright man, but he can't simplify his knowledge down to a 100 level chemistry course. He moves very fast in lectures, and doesn't always explain things clearly. He's very intimidating and can come off as condescending when you ask him questions.

Dr. King is what you call a gem in the rough (the rough is the entire chemistry department). Gotta pay attention, but he IS the funniest guy you'll ever meet. If you want to be on that curve line exactly, that will take work too! Go to SI- live in his office.- you will be fine (can't imagine you will but by the power of AND, I bless you!)

King is really intelligent and he expects you to be the same, even if you're not. His lectures are hard to follow, and often times his assignments don't relate to the lecture at all. The tests are difficult and you feel drained and discouraged after lectures.

Dr. King is an extremely intelligent man, and obviously knows a whole lot about chemistry, but he is terrible at explaining what he is trying to say to students. He is definitely an upper level chemistry professor, and anyone taking Chem 103 or 104 should go to the Chem SI sessions. They are much more helpful than lectures.

Avoid King if possible. I didn't learn an actual thing from lectures until we got to the O-chem unit in the last two weeks (which ended up being a total of 4 questions on the final). SI sessions saved me in this class, so go to them if you want to do well. Very good at explaining things but sets it up as a very independent class.

Dr. King doesnt really teach at all through lectures. He will show you how to do something but goes so fast through the slides you dont even understand whats going on half of the time especially since he uses a more complex vocabulary. The class average for mine was a 50%

King is an incredibly smart guy, but an absolutely TERRIBLE professor. If you don't remember chemistry from high school, do NOT take his class. He goes through everything so fast without explanations and his tests are extremely difficult. He's very sweet, though, but if you want a decent grade- I recommend not taking his class.

This class really wasn't that bad. His tests are extremely similar to the practice exams. You do need a lot of prior knowledge in Chemistry. He does give a good amount of homework (2 fairly long assignments per week) but they are doable. I don't think his rating reflects the class.

King is an extremely smart professor and a pretty nice guy. His lectures are not too bad, but attendance is crucial. The problem with his class simply has to do with the rate at which he teaches new content- which is unreasonably fast. If you take this class be prepared to put in the effort and for the love of god do the practice exams he gives out

While Dr. King's class is not an easy A, if you put in the effort you will be fine. He was always willing to help out students when asked. Pay attention to the lecture power points and always do the test reviews.
