This guy knows his stuff. Relates material to everyday real life. Try to convince him to teach micro too. I recommend him to everyone that needs to take macro econ.

This professor will have you feeling sorry he's not teaching Eco 1302. He is good but he is does give you a challenge. If you willing to give this professor a try you will not be disappointed about what you will get out of his class.

Newbury is the one of the best professors at Richland College. I really enjoyed his every day class.He sounds very serious when you hear about every day quize.It is helpful and make you ready the next class. I recommend him for every one who wants to get an A plus enough skill about Macro Ecomomics.

I love this guy! Econ. has never been my strong suit, & I passed it with an A! He is very clear, and extremely helpful! Just talk to him and be interested & he will help you out! I WISH HE TAUGHT MICRO TOO!!!

first let me say he is a wonderful teacher. i wasnt suppose to pass this class because i missed a test and a couple of quizzes due to personal problems,but he was there and helped me through and gave me other options and i did pass his class. i wish he was tecahing micro.

He's a great person BUT he can be confusing at times as a teacher. What he says in class may help you a lot in understand how the real life gets going (and that's the main point of going to college I guess)but it WON't help you as much as it should in your tests. My advice is to read the workbook, 75 % of the test questions are from there.

He is a really good teacher. He doesn't make the class hard. The workbook helps a lot with the tests. He is knowlegable about the subject, and is always willing to help.

Excellent teacher. Does not treat you like a baby, does not demean anyone, does not talk down to the class. He respects you and expects you to respect him. He is smart, funny, organized, and does what he says he will do. Sticks to his syllabus too!!! Very good experience.

his lectures are so boring. you'll have random quizes for attendance they don't count as anything. if you sign in for attendance also at the end of the semester you'll get 3 points added to your final grade. get his book review it'll help A LOT on the test. lectures are boring but pay attention

You come in and he would lecture. You had to take good notes and you need a workbook. He was kind of hard for me considering i didnt like the subject at all.

I liked him, all you need to do is come to class, and take the easy online quizzes. my attendance changed my grade from an 89 to 91 so thats a letter grade. the lectures can be kind of boring but DEFINATELY do the drill and practice ?s on the web. they will help you so much with his tests (which are 50 ? multiple choice) hes a nice guy

Took summer course. Enjoyed it. Knows what hes talking about. Puts everything into a student's perspective. Downfall- Can't rely solely on lectures. Quizzes come from studying on your own time- be prepared to read and study a lot if you plan on passing. Overall- I like him a lot

Good professor, course is pretty much online now. The book is now online, so you have alot of homework. 4 in class tests. I thought the course was very easy, mainly due to all the quizzes and test online, really padded your grade. Surprised me that there is no math in this course, not even addition. Good professor, easy material, would recommend.

This class super easy if you do the online quizes and the in class discussion. Also, the questions on the quiz are the same questions on the test. He's also a pretty funny guy.

Awesome teacher, interesting subject, and easy work. I am currently taking the Fast Track class and I am half way done in just 2 weeks. I am making an A right now. There is a lot of reading and quizzes, but they are easy and it is a good read. I LOVE the class! Plus, the final exam is optional and counts only as extra credit!

Easy prof. Attend class if you want to learn and get an A. He wrote his own small book so it's a short read. 4 MC tests (questions exactly from online quizzes, so study and drill!), 4 short in-class assignments during test, 12 online quizzes (practice questions are available to study from), and final is optional (extra credit). He does not curve.

His class was easy for me. Just read the text book, do the online assignments and you will get good grades on the tests. Very straight forward. He does have a liberal point of view and constantly bashes Fox News and Republicans, but ignore that and the class is rather easy. Ignore the naysayers.

I took the online class. I read the reviews prior to taking the class and they were accurate. If you follow instructions you will do great. The final was optional and I had accumulated enough point so that it was not needed. I took it anyways just for good measure. The professor was good at answering emails. I recommend this professor. I made an A.

I took his class online and it was pretty easy. Study well, be consistent, and focus and you should do fine. You can use your e-text during online test, so for the questions you don't know, all you have to do is look them up using Ctrl+F and most of the questions are in there somewhere. Discussion Boards are fairly easy, too

I went into this class not knowing anything about Economics. I came out feeling like I had learned quite a bit. All the chapter quizzes are online, as well as the book, but unit tests are in class. Class times are taken up mostly by him lecturing. He uses powerpoints to help illustrate what he is talking about. Apply yourself, and you will pass.

Really great professor! He holds review sessions before tests and his study guides pinpoint what is on his tests. Plus if you go to lecture, he tells you what will be on it. He grades Lab easily as his given extra credit for this course. I took him both Uni. ECONOMIS 2301 & 02and made As on both. TAKE HIM FOR BETTER KNOWLEDGE.

He uses class time well and covers everything you need to know. The homework can be time consuming but usually has video examples that walk you through the problem. There are 3 tests and they are very similar to the review problems. You need a 92% to get an A, but it's very doable. Overall, a consistent teacher and a relatively easy class.

This was a great class. This teacher gave partial credit for problems on test and he has a great personality. I would highly recommend this professor to anyone in my opinion. The class I took with this professor was between a lab and a lecture class and you would have to make at least a B or higher to finish all the homework and tests by the way.

He's a fairly easy teacher and though his lectures were quite dull at times, you can still make easy As in the tests. 4 in-class unit exams but the final exam was online which was awesome. YOU NEED THE BOOK.

Took Fred back in 2003. Just talking about him today and appreciating him in a new unit of time. Great instructor...gave his lectures like a prepared speech...very interesting. He made economics fun for me. Always attend class, listen carefully, take notes. I even recorded the lectures and would review them to study.

Well, he makes this class so simple. Everything is nice and clear. the quizzes and the test are easy and sometimes stupid. the questions from the quizzes reappear in the test. He provides you with many types of resources that are really helpful. I started loving economics after taking his class.

Took Professor Newbury for Macroeconomics Online Flex Term. Great class, very simple set up. Wish he had Microeconomics as well to take him again.

Took economics online with him. Had 12 ch quizzes, 5 tests including final exam, and 2 discussion boards. Quizzes and tests were easy and straight from the textbook. Discussion boards are harder. Tough grader and expects very thorough discussion posts. Replies to emails quickly if you have questions. Easy course, would definitely take again!

I took his class flex term, online. It was pretty easy, I'm glad I took his class.

Newbury is a solid choice for ECON. His lectures are OK but get you through the online quizzes and the test with flying colors. You only have 4 tests, 12 online exams, and the rest of the points are points from attendance. Sometimes he studders and forgets what he is saying but otherwise a solid choice. Isn't a hard class, just take notes & read.

I took ECON 2301 Online with professor Newbury and it was great. It was my first time taking an online course and he made it so easy to access. Book is required which is published by him so not expense and shows that he is knowledgeable in this subject. Take this professor you will not be disappointed.

I was so nervous to take ECON. Everyone I knew said they took it 2x and barely passed. This was an easy class as long as you do the work. Its all test, quiz, and discussions are easy. The book is pricey, but it was worth the A.

Not bad, you have to read if u want to understand but it is easy. There's ppt and textbook (i think u have to purchase i forgot) and video. Good content designed to help. Took in 8 weeks, if u do the work u should get an A.

Class is easy but you need to read the book. I didn't try and got a B+. He is a co-author of the textbook. He responds to emails in a timely manner. Read the syllabus and you'll do fine. All assignments have specific due dates but they are spread apart and a reasonable amount.

You will have discussions, online quizzes, and in class exams. The exams are like the quizzes, and the quizzes are really easy. Over all not too hard of a course, you can easily get an A. Just make sure you study quizlet before exams!

05/15/2020 Spring classes just ended and I only got a B I'll tell you why I am terrible at anything to do with math; Although there is more reading and memorization (ITS MY FAULT I HAVE MATH PHOBIA) So forget about my "C" if you want to pass ECON this is the professor to you need YOU WILL PASS THIS CLASS HE GRADES ON A CURVE; PROMPT EMAILS RETURNS

I took the fast-paced class and I was stressed at the beginning because I thought it was too much work but I was wrong. his class was really smooth and he answers emails directly and he is always there to help. I would definitely recommend his class.

Great Professor. The syllabus is clear and there aren't that many assignments. As long as you study you should be just fine. His grading is very generous as well.

If you're in the class that gets to get BFF certified, listen to the videos and take notes. Trust me. Other than that though, the grading and textbook are pretty straightforward. Use the textbook's activities, videos, and flashcards!! They are helpful.
