he is the best math professor I have ever had.

He makes the course very easy and the exams are easy. He lets you have note cards for the exams. However he is a bit boring and tends to get off subject on the stupidest things.

Great guy and professor, sometimes to fast on important stuff and slow on the easy stuff, but as long as you are good at notes a A or B isnt hard to reach. Oh and he gave us cookies during the test :-)

My first prof ever, and he was definitely a good one to start out with! Taught the material well, tested fairly, and helped out when needed! Also offered some bonus and let's you use a notecard for tests. If you need to take Calc, you need to take him!

Awesome guy. Really wants his students to understand what he is doing. VERY flexible. If you are having a hard time following, he will stop where he is, so you can follow step by step. Understands that there is more to life than just his class! Highly recommended

great guy, always willing to help...go to every class because theres lots of notes. KEEP UP ON THE HOMEWORK, he doesnt really give due dates so its incredably easy to fall behind in homework. if you take him just do the homework or the class is much harder.

I hate Math and I failed 100 and 105. I took Dr. Adkins during this second summer session which is doubly as hard because everything goes so fast and I got a C, if I hadnt skipped half of the last week I would have gotten a B but I bombed the last test. TAKE HIM FOR MATH. He is the best Math prof I have ever had!

He is the BEST teacher ever! He is very helpful. I never had the proper math prior to taking this course and ended up with a B. If he sees you are trying, you will AT LEAST get a C. He's awesome. Take him if at all possible. It will save you a lot of hassle.

Great prof! He has a wonderful presence in the classroom and has a definite interest in his subject. Also incredibly intelligent (I lost track of how many masters and doctorate degrees he has).

The class moves very fast, and he is really smart so he does things that you dont know how to do a lot. He also makes many simple mathematical errors, but other than that he is a great prof. He will help you if you need it. He also understands that he moves quickly.

He is a great prof. Above and beyond to help. He can sometimes make a long story short when it comes to answering questions, but by far not scatterbrained. He tried to make things as easy as possible. Not really strict, fair with homework and gives extra time for tests- really helps! He's probably one of the most laid back profs I've met.

I took this class as an online class. After having Professor Early, this class was a breeze. If you are motivated enough to use all the online tools; video lectures, animated examples, online tutors, etc. then I would definitely recommend this class for online...if you are lazy & aren't willing to do the required work...don't bother.

He makes math fun which is amazing haha and he is very helpful and moves at a good pace. Funny man and he likes to swim. Reminds me of an eighties model.

He gives you credit for every effort he can find. I mean get the wrong answer but do some work right and you still get points. He looks at your thought process. Really fair. NICE GUYS. easy to talk to. SO the homework it will help you.Look at attendance.TAKE HIM!!!

Great professor! Every IUP professor could take lessons from this guy. I'm glad he teaches calc I and II so I actually learn something.

He's cool. Unlike other professors, he wil actually answer your questions. Do the work, and projects, and don't miss the quizes.

Great professor worth taking. He's very lax and you can get away with turning in homework real late. Explains things clearly. Grades are based on the homework, a few one question quizzes, and three night exams. Overall very nice guy that makes class interesting and EASY.

very smart guy. you can tell he knows what he is talking about. homework is worth alot unfortunately but you can turn it in late with no credit taken away. test can be chalenging but you know what will be on them. i def recommend him and would for sure take another one of his classes.

He was an excellent teacher who was extrememly willing to help. The class was relatively easy as long as you did all of your homework, which was also a large portion of your final grade.

Best math professor ever. You will learn alot but it won't cost you your grade. He allows a cheat sheet on the test and gives out extra credit oppertunities.

Took this class online, Didn't know any Calculus before, but know I have a good depth of knowledge about it. Online hw counts for 24% of grade, and quizzes count for 49%. Overall pretty easy class, and hes very helpful. I'd take another math class with him, preferably in the classroom!!

You have home work pretty much each class. The exams are hard study study study he does let you have a notecard

I LOVE HIM!!! He is the Best! I had him for calculus 1 and will be wait to take calc 2 until I can take it from him. He is extremely helpful and really cares for his students. He will do what ever he can to help them. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give him infinity!

I took his class online, which was extremely convenient because you could work at your own pace to meet set deadlines. I wasn't doing very well with the material and was having a hard time, and he gave me a MILLION free chances to improve my grade in any way that he could. Super cool guy, very helpful, prompt, and really wants you to succeed.

Dr. Adkins is one of the best math professors I've ever had. He's extremely fair with grading and very helpful when you have questions. As long as you talk to him when you're struggling he will understand and try to help you. He moves fast through the material so be prepared to do math every day. If you fall behind, make sure you ask him for help.

He confused me at times, but he was very helpful. It took work, do the extra credit and the homework. Don't be afraid to ask questions and you'll get an A

Had Dr A for online Calculus in 2011. Math is not my best subject. Spent 120 hours total online. Had issues with assignments and internet connections & he allowed me to retake a chapter quiz. Do the extra HW for xtra credit! it was the difference between an A and a B for me. More than fair and helpful. Dr A rocks!

Dr. Adkins really was helpful throughout the entire class. Im not the best at math and he really made sure I understood everything. Do the homework and ask questions and he will give you all the help you need. I wish I could take him agian, by far the best math teacher I every had. He is way better then any of the other teachers at IUP.

Dr. Adkins is the bomb. He is a fantastic teacher and very helpful. Yeah its hard but its calculus and Dr. Adkins can make it easier. Also gives alot of extra credit. Take this class!!!!!!!!

I had him for calc I and calc II, he's a nice guy and really knows his stuff. Decent teacher, will help if you ask. Sometimes tries to make math jokes..

I have had many other calc professors in the mathematics department here at IUP and they were all awful. Go read the reviews you will see. Dr Adkins really knows how to explain calc and he understands what it is like to be an undergrad student still. Other professors forget they have been teaching the same thing for years and explain things poorly

He is a very good math professor. This is my second time taking Calculus II and it is a hundred times better this semester. He is very clear and his evening exams give you a lot of time to get through the tests. Taking him for Calculus III next semester!

Best professor i have ever taken at IUP. He moves quick but does his best to make sure every student understands. If you need help he will do everything in his power to help you. Office hours are extremely helpful. Links the math you learn to real applications so you understand why he is teaching it.

Moves quickly in lectures, but the material is so much more confusing if you don't attend. Every time I skipped class I regretted it. Don't buy the book; the online code gives you everything you need. Gives lots of partial credit on exams and gives opportunity to do problems for extra credit, take advantage of these!

His examples are very dry, so I had to take notes in order to pay attention. Writes very quickly and all over the board.

Lectures could not be better. Exams are amazing. Yes, they are hard but he takes time to grad each and individual question and explains how to fix the problem. Homework is online and frequent but it does help. Everything he does is extremely fair. Could not ask for a better calculus professor.

I know Dr. Adkins is a math professor, but he also is a pretty good computer science professor. His exams are a little on the difficult side, he expects you to memorize all the definitions from all the chapters you cover for the first exam. The HWK he assigns is great practice for the exams. I would take him again for a computer science class.

The nicest professor ever! You have to purposely try to fail. Do your online homework, you get multiple tries-very easy to get 100s on all the homework's. You are allowed notecards on every exam, and he usually gives bonus which is also review questions for exams.

His online math 115 class is can be tough. Especially the quiz's. I'm very nervous about the final that is worth a large chunk of the final grade. Hopefully he lets us use our notes. I couldn't imagine too many average students being able to remember 9 chapters worth of calculus in their heads. If we cant use notes, most of the class will fail. :(

Since I've always struggled in math, I was very nervous to take MATH 121 online as a winter course. I shouldn't have been! Dr. A was very caring, attentive, and encouraging to the students throughout the course. Any time I had a question or problem with grading, he assisted me enthusiastically and in a timely manner. Take him, you won't regret it!

Probably one of the best math professors in the department, super caring and patient with the material he is teaching. Math is a hard subject, so definitely ask questions and show him your trying on the homework. He pushes back homework dates and is cool with talking about homework and questions you have in class. Just try and you'll pass.

He's a very good professor and is willing to help students when they need help. He also is flexible with deadlines as long as he knows students are genuinely trying to learn the material. Highly recommend him to anyone.

We set up an AWS account, with webpages that used SQL, and PHP to add identity through user accounts. We have accomplished a lot more in an intro course than I expected, and I feel like I have genuinely learned useful knowledge that is very applicable to the COSC industry, which is not something I can say of most courses. Unorganized, his d2l grad page was useless; it had a bunch of old semester assignments. He spent a lot of class time doing things only loosely related to databases. The final was all essay questions but not hard whatsoever. He does not give deadlines right away. He always goes over the scheduled time. but overall its a great, easy and fair class.

Just do the work in the course and you will get an A. Laid-back professor, very chill, understanding if you need to miss. He has a zoom set up every class so you can hop on if you have to be elsewhere. He knows alot and sometimes i think he forgets we're just learning so he rushes through stuff sometimes. but just do the work and youll be fine.

Dr. Adkins genuinely cares about his students, he goes above and beyond as an educator to provide skills and practical experience to the students who to learn in his classes. He is able to cater to your interests and is one of the few teachers that are able to give practical skills or applications.

If you aren't understanding some of the material, his office hours are helpful. Gives extra credit review exercises before exams. Overall, best professor i've had at IUP.
