very boring.. quizzes get old..but at least he has his looks!

Do the bonus in this class and you'll be fine. He has quizs every week but even if you fail them all like me you can still get an A.

Grammar nazi! Very critical. Doesn't smile much.

one of the better teachers i'vehad. he really made us think about the things we read and interpret them into our OWN thoughts and ideas, not what we THOUGHT he wanted to hear. semi- tough course but in the end am greatful to have had him as a teacher.

Don't let the first couple of classes scare you. This guy is an awesome teacher! He really makes you think! You do a lot of group work and he makes it fun as hell! :o)
Very good teacher! He is so funny. AS long as you read and take notes in class you'll do good. Make sure you check your word count on essays!
GOOD TEACHER EASY AAAAA

very strange. somewhat nice, got a B in the class with a limited amount of effort, but roommate tried much harder and got a C, so who knows.
If you like to write papers, this is your professor. These papers are confusing though.
1 of the best teachers ive ever had. he'll really make u think about things. very interesting and fun discussions. ull never take notes. limited amount of papers. hes not the easiest grader but an awesome teacher! very enjoyable!!
This professor wanted everything done over the computer. Classroom discussions were very fun and interesting but he gave me no feedback even when i asked for it. He took forever to grade my papers so I had no idea how I was doing in his class. Overall I thought he was a very poor professor.
Professor White is the best professor ever. He really makes you think and grades your papers pretty tough. The class discussions are great and he's a very easy going guy. Take this professor EASY A!!! Professor White is AWSOME!!

His attendence policy requires you to do an additional paper (on top of making up the assignments you missed), he stares at the good looking girls in the class, he grades extremely unfairly, and unless you have a reliable computer/internet connection, you will not be able to hand in any assignments.
I was just looking back at the stuff I wrote for his class...WOW...we wrote about things I don't think many english profs would dare to touch...homosexuality, for instance. He really makes you think but can be creepy at times. Still was an easy A and that makes all the difference in the world!!!
HE IS A GOOD TEACHER. REALLY MAKES U STOP AND THINK ABOUT THINGS. GRADES PAPERS TOUGH THOUGH. OVER ALL HE IS A HELPFUL PROFESSOR, NICE EASY GOING GUY, CARES IF U PASS OR NOT AND TRIES TO HELP AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TO ENSURE U DO PASS THE CLASS! ONE OF THE BEST PROFESSORS I HAD! REALLY ENJOYED THE CLASS!
Excellent all around professor. Lectures are group discussions- you watch plays and there are no tests to study for. Three easy quizzes worth 100+ points just reflect the discussions in class. Take good notes and don't miss class!
Pr. White is a really good teacher. He explains himself clearly. He's kinda funny and makes classwork fun to do sometimes. The class is mostly group discussions and essays. The topics are really interesting most of the time. He involves everyone in the class which makes the group discussions better. Overall I think he's a really good teacher.
I actually learned very little in this class. Assignments were unclear and changed at the last minute. He gave vague explanations of topics in linguistics. I would not recommend him for this class. Maybe ok for other clases. I was disappointed.
Excellent class and very good professor. Actually teaches and the course is very interesting. Be prepared to work hard because midterm, final and presentations are worth a lot. Also be ready to participate...lot of points. Definitely take this course with White because he teaches, unlike some professors.
He is nice, and tries to make the class interesting, and get the students involved. Read the assignments, go to class and you will have at least a C. Do more work and you'll have yourself a B or C.
Prof White is a very nice guy! his class was basically just reading and busy work. with every tuesday in the lab...i really enjoyed taking him and he def made me a better writer...he is always there to help you whenever you need him! he does grade kinda tough though, but if you give it your best you will get at least a B. he doesnt give A's on pape
This class was horrible. I hate speaking in front of people so I took it in the summer. I got a B but really had to work for it. I wish they would eliminate this class. The professor wasn't to bad the class just sucked.
interperating lit....way too easy!!! show up for class, answer the questions, participate in dicussions, and read the material and your good to go! he does not believe in giving tests which is awesome. sometimes he will have a 'quiz' but it is not graded, but rather goes toward the area of participation. he thinks outside the box!! which is cool!
hist. & dev. of english, dunno the #. dry sense of humor, people who don't get it think he's frigid. helpful and knows his stuff. if you want english as a career, you need grad school. if you're going that way, you can learn a great deal from him. if you're going to do something else, you can still do well. he just provides the opportunity.
he is a really easy man if u get on his good side!!!
Terrible!! I had him his first year at SRU and he was horrible. I love writing but he made it a chore. I have never done poorly in an English class, and I struggled to get Bs on his papers. He NEVER gave an A to anyone, and gave me a C in the class even though I had good attendance and got B's on EVERY paper! He's unreasonable!
Probably the best english professor I ever had! I was never very good with anything like this. but he made everything easy to understand! He always took a different approach to everything which always made it interesting! Loved the class. I would DEF. recommend taking him:)
He is by FAR THE WORST teacher i have ever had, he gives you less then a day to write you papers and then he marks them sooooooo badly. His classes are so boring and he will NEVER help you. When you ask him for help he tells you that you should know the answer.PLEASE DO YOUSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS MANS CLASS if you want to pass CW1
Dr. White makes the class extremely interesting- he cracks a lot of jokes. You have to do a "response" every week on the poems, but it isn't much work at all. I highly recommend him, beings that I haven't heard too greatly of any other Lit. professors!
Professor White is very cool. His lectures can sometimes be a tad boring, or make no sense but you get it in the end. The reflections we have to do are stupid but thats about the only work you have to do until the end of the semester when you have to write a few poems. Oh, and If you don't know an answer, just say "I don't know", it works. Easy A.
Challenging, but intereting. If you're an English major he teaches things that come up in other classes.
If you like history you'll love this man. All we write about is history. He's not bad once you get to know him. Do what he tells you to do, ask him for advice and you will get an A
VERY EASY PROFESSOR awesome professor, makes classes easy, does not believe in tests for the majority of the classes he teaches. very easy going professor and has a passion for teaching and his english. if you want an easy class, take him
Prof white is the most easiest, awesomest professor ever!!! I had his lit class at 8am, and it was still awardly fun. All you have to do is go to class and do what he says and he will give you an A. He cancels class often, and sometimes he just lets you leave when he feels like it. And for the final you have to do a 5 min ppt. Easy as cake.
Terrible AVOID!
Only person i know that grades bonus work. not very good. the stuff he talks about is cool, but he makes it suck
Dr. White is extremely easy only have to write a few 2 page papers but he loves history all we write about is history
My favorite Dr. Father in the world
didnt like so much
nice guy. willing to help and funny. no text. he provides reading via blackboard. read mostly historical documents like gettysburg address and chief seattles speech. kinda hard topics. gotta bs your way thru. first week go over reading. second week write 1 1/2 paper. thrid week meeting with him no class. fourth revise to 4 pages.
You only have to write 2 page papers but he NEVER tells you what you have done wrong. When questioning him about losing 6 points he stated it was because I didn't have the . inside my (). 6POINTS for real buddy!! Not a bad class altogether.
If you are really into historical documents, then this is the course for you. All semester you examine different documents from the United States such as: Martin Luther King's Speech, The Gettysburg Address, The Declaration of Independence, etc. There are not a lot of actual writing skills taught. This is not an easy A because he grades hard.
Dr. White is the man! At first, he and his class were indimidating. After a few weeks, though, he was great! I learned a lot from his class and I urge you to take him. He also gives a take home final. :)
Dr White seems like he could be a nice guy but one would never know because he NEVER give you a clue as to where you stand in his class. His work load is fairly easy except his instructions a VAGUE to say the least. Can be frustrating. Will not take again
This man so so strange. He seems to always be starring at one student throughout the class. I kinda feel bad for her. He makes you feel ver uncomfortable. i would stay away from him. It is an easy class, if you want to put up with a creepy professor
you read 4 historical documents throughout the semester. you have class about twice every 2 weeks.the papers are hard but not impossible. he has one on one meetings with him to go over your paper, & he gives you feedback. he gets everyone to participate in class and read outloud. overall its not a bad class.
This class was pretty cool. You write about 4 papers and you hardly have to go in to class. There are conferences for every paper due that you have to read out loud to him. I liked the class. He's a good teacher and he makes you re-read and prof read your paper constantly. I recommend him!
He is a decent professor. There are 4 documents that you read and have to write reports on. Overall not a difficult class as long as you go over the different documents of the things he doesn't want in the paper.
i absolutely love prof white! hes a great teacher & he makes you think. there is reflections every week and a presentation at the end of the semester. the class is fairly easy, the exams & reflections are opinionated so its hard to do bad in this class.
Dr. White is a great teacher. I had him for college writing, if you do everything that is expected from you, you will get an A. He is my favorite professor thus far. I also took him for interpreting literature. The class is the same. Take him, you will love him and the class.
Dr. White is the best English prof I've had at SRU! As long as you go to class and turn everything in on time you should get a good grade.
Dr. White is a great professor. :) He makes Native American Literature actually interesting, and gets the group involved. Be prepared for him to go around the room answering a question though. Haha. There are two 400 word reader responses every week, but not bad at all, because that's basically all the homework. Second time taking him, and loving this class. RECOMMEND!
Very interesting class until the last 2 weeks when he just talks about his book. He loves to hear what the class has to say and I felt very comfortable participating. He says, "Hmmm, interesting" about 46 times a class; he's funny and entertaining as well. His tests were difficult, but nothing impossible. Go to class and you'll enjoy it.
Avoid him for linguistics. Confusing and vague in his assignments and lectures. Assignments are worth a lot. But he doesn't explain what he wants you to do for them, then docks you a lot of points for minimal mistakes. Makes class more difficult than it needs to be. I like linguistics, but he ruined this class for me. Loathed every minute of it.
I love Dr White! I'm only a freshman but he's my favorite teacher so far. I had him for college writing and I plan on taking him for int. lit. He was a little intimidating at first but eventually he became really hilarious and he really makes you think about other perspective's other than the predominantly white thought we have today. Recommended:)
My favorite professor I've had so far, and this is my third year here. I can't believe his ratings are so low. Yeah his class isn't easy but he challenges you, which is why you're at college anyways. He has funny stories and I feel comfortable going to his office and talking to him about anything. Would DEFINITELY take him again.
Dr. White is very approachable and cares about his students. It's definitely not an easy course to take but it's worth it. You have to write two 400 word essays per week along with several other papers. Great guy.
Easy class, and Dr. White is a character and makes everything interesting and fun. All you do is two 400 word papers a week, and three/four big papers the year and they're easy.
Dr. White is a very interesting professor. He has a very dry sense of humor which if you appreciate like I do you'll find him pretty hilarious. For Interpreting Lit he'll make the class read the work and then give a lecture about the subject but he keeps it pretty interesting so you won't get bored. There's a reflection and a response due each week
Great professor but assigns excessive amounts of writing assignments. Probably only took one exam in this class the entire semester. Be prepared to read. Helpful if needed. NO TEXTBOOK
I absolutely loved my Interpreting Literature class with Dr. White. There are NO TEST. A response and a reflection 400 words every week, and only a few projects. It is a very easy and enjoyable class. Make sure you keep up with your work which shouldn't be hard and turn everything in. Book: need it but you can print off the reading.. take it!!!
I am currently a junior and had Dr. White my freshman year, but there is still no professor I enjoy like him. Even though it has been a while since I had him in a class, he is still willing to help me in other classes. I go to him if I need my BIO paper proof read or ideas for my Philosophy paper. He is so willing to help you succeed in everything
I loved his Critical Reading class! I was always intrigued by his lectures and never bored! We have writing assignments usually every week but they don't take long and they're easy! Tough grader but a lot of chances to make up missed points. I got a lot from this class and HIGHLY recommend it.
Hardest class I've ever taken. Tests were super hard and he is really tough in the beginning but it gets better towards the end. Just stick it out and it gets better. Do not skip class.
Dr. White is a fantastic professor. I was worried because of the reviews here, but he is not bad at all. He is strict with things but awesome at what he does.
He was a good professor. BUT he is very picky. He assigns a 400 word reflection at the beginning of each week, and a 600 word wrap up every Friday. No tests or final which is nice. Attendance is MANDATORY. Each class is really involved, but it can get really old really fast. Overall, this class was fairly easy, but a little irritating.
Dr. White was okay. He assigns 2 papers a week and doesn't like college level writing. His lectures are cool at first, but get really old. He very seldomly gives 100 on things. He also has a little attitude, so don't email him. Put in effort, get an A.
Dr. White is my favorite English professor of the ones I've had. Values each student's opinion and gets everyone to participate. There's a lot of writing to do each week but as long as you put the work in you shouldn't have a problem passing.
Let's be real. It's an English class. If you don't expect to read or write papers, then you shouldn't be taking an English class. His grading is not harsh. As long as you put thought into the papers and assignments, your grade will be fine. Take this class and his lessons to heart. Every lesson he teaches can impact your life in one way or another.
White is one of the worst English teachers I have ever had, it may seem like a lot of work to non english majors but it's a normal amount. However, his grading is so harsh. I work very hard and have never gotten a good grade on his assignments, and I am an A/B student. He also made me write a long essay for missing one class with a doctors excuse.
Dr. White was by far one of my favorite professors here at SRU! His grading can be tough here and there, but by going to talk to him it's very helpful and he truly cares about his students. It's a college English class, so of course he is going to treat is such way. I recommend him.
Tough Grader.
Dr. White was by far one of my favorite professors I have ever had! It was a very intersting class and I never thought I would enjoy it, but to my pleasant suprise, it was a super fun class. A ton of great discussions and it really makes you think. Fantastic professor.
The BEST prof at Slippery Rock University. I encourage everyone to take any class possible with this amazing man. Truly passionate about his subject and his students. Work is hard, but so interesting. PARTICIPATE IN CLASS! He really blossoms and becomes a new person when a bold student is in the class; don't be intimidated by him. Loved this class.
Spring 2016 for critical reading. Strictest attendance policy of any professor I've had, solemn demeanor, tough grader, and yet one of my favorite professors at SRU. Three stories to read and at least two papers of 500 words per week, not including three larger essays throughout the semester. No tests, no final, at least when I took him.
Fall 2016 for native american literature. Strictest attendance policy I've seen, dry humor, and one of my favorites at SRU. Read three stories with two personal reflection papers per week, not including the essay and 10 minute presentation combo project with a partner. This was one of my favorite classes at SRU, despite my non English major.
Critical Reading. Cant say Ive had a class that Ive liked more. This class changed my life. Dr. White cares so much about you. The class Itself is an illusion. He moves you to think deeply. Through it, I worked out some of problems and thoughts and opinions through reading, writing and discussion. His grading is honest. He looks to improve you.
I was thrown by his whole persona. That is, he didn't seem to be a very kind person. Also, he course aimed for us to think about stuff, but his biases clearly showed through which seemed a bit unprofessional. Not sure about this professor.
Dr. W is one of the worst professors that I have come across thus far. Unfortunately, he loves hierarchies and thus looks at students as persons of much lesser value than himself. Also, he doesn't like to be challenged in his courses and cares nothing for logical reflection; its his way or nothing. He is the exemplar of dogmatism at its finest.
If possible, avoid this professor.
Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
Taking him for a basic requirement? Don't. Critical Reading with Dr. White is so much harder than any other critical reading class on campus.
His class is very chill and fun to attend. His lectures relate to things you care about. He gives multiple chances to fix your paper and the topics are very interesting. There are 4 main papers each have a reflection and a wrap-up but they are only 400 words and the papers are about 3 pages. I HATE writing but he made it enjoyable.
Very nice person, just a tough grader. He is clear with how he wants your essays done, only part I didn't like is you have to present your essays in front of the class. But other than that he is very nice and understanding. As long as you do your stuff on time and meet the criteria you will pass and he will tell you everything you did wrong.
Literally the worst possible critical reading professor I could've gotten. Under no circumstances should you take this man. It's always a hit or miss with no direction or reasoning within grading. If you take him, be prepared to write 16000+ words from beginning to end. I only got an A because I wrote 8 pages worth of extra credit.
Okay, so Dr. White seems very intimidating at first, you just have to crack him. He LOVES students that participate. He is very down to Earth and really cares about his students. If you get to know him he is a very sweet man. As long as you speak out and show interest in the class you will be fine. Sitting quiet in the corner will get you no where.
Overall Dr. White really cares about what he does. You have to put in the effort to get a good grade but he offered a lot of room to make up your mistakes. Pay attention in class and participate. The weekly assignments are not as hard as they seem as long as you keep up with the readings.
The professor is very dogmatic in his beliefs which makes me question his ability to provide fair grading. For example, most of the grades are based on how he feels about our writing, and much less about the logical validity of that writing. I am not even sure if he knows what 'logical validity' means? This is troubling.
Avoid if possible.
A friend said Dr. White is the best. I went in genuinely looking forward to his class. While the work load is average, I felt undermined by his grading. Hes a very harsh grader and his feedback is not at all helpful and left me feeling really bad about my writing ability. Hes a nice guy but he made me feel very inadequate.
I was looking forward to this class, but as soon as things picked up, I regretted my decision to take this class. He grades harshly and gives very little feedback. There is a slim chance you will ever receive 100% on anything. I enjoyed some of the reading choices and liked making personal connections, but did not learn a thing.
Absolutely terrible. I enjoy English as a subject, my dad is an English professor and throughout the semester he would get angry over this professor along with me. He attacks you, he destroys your sense of confidence, and he asks for your opinion to tell you that you are wrong! His feedback is useless. I was about to report him then COVID hit.
Passive aggressive. Super rude at times. Shows no mercy for any mistakes. Other teachers have sympathy, but not him. Counts every word and isnt very helpful when youre confused or make a mistake.
Dr. White was a great professor when taking his class via zoom. He likes to involve every student and make sure that everyone has a clear understanding of what is going on in class. He assigns a lot of writing assignments (usually 2 a week) but they aren't hard as long as you read the assigned reading which usually is fairly short.
Uses textbooks that are 20+ years old, very curt and cold in email replies, only "teaches" for 30 minutes of our 3 hours of scheduled course time, expects you to know what he's thinking, doesn't teach the lesson so much as ask what the students thought about the chapters after they teach themselves. Unprofessional, outdated, needs to retire.
Rude, condescending, and dismissive. He could care less about how you do in his class. He made a snide remark in front of class about my career path. No rubrics for any projects. Dont bother asking him for help he will just tell you to try harder and offers general feedback. He also did not teach a single lesson. I relied on my peers to learn
He is a condescending jerk and forgets that he is an educator and that every person learns differently. Yes, some may be okay in his class, but youre screwed if you dont fit in his mold of students. He is a horrible zoom teacher and I wonder how such a bad professor maintains a position.
Condescending, never had a professor that I dreaded asking questions to more than him. In creative writing assignments forbids you to write about anything negative. What's negative? The obvious violence and profanity, but also luck (?), lgbt topics, the supernatural, and many many more. But pretend to be a conservative like I didand you'll get an A
Dr. White is one of my favorite profs! The textbook is a valuable resource that I appreciate having and will use outside of class which is a first for me! Dr. White is a super interesting and kind person. He has lots of cool stories and examples of real-life applications of the concepts learned in Linguistics. Totally recommend!
Makes everyone participate, the students basically read the power points, and the weekly wrap up responses suck. Also, sucks at responding back to emails and takes forever to grade assignments.
Assigns long readings and tough quizzes to follow. Tough grader on prompts and weekly wrapups. Use the book a lot 1st half the semester. Have to come to class, very strict on attendance. Expects lots of class discussion but can be rude if you say something he disagrees with. Although personable and makes an effort to know students' names, I'd avoid
No matter how hard you try on your essays you will most likely receive a C at best. He does not help you write better essays during class, all we do is read our essays to the class and go home. He gives feedback that doesn't even make sense and there is an avoids list that has like a million things you can't write in the essays.
I had his class my first semester on campus and I do not recommend. I cannot tell you how many times I ended up going to class sick because he didn't even take notes from the health center as an excuse and if you missed your grade dropped a percentage. We wrote two papers a week which wasn't too bad, but he was the toughest grader ever.
Dr. White is the best professor ive had so far. He is very caring and respectful. I was sick a lot this semester and he was completely fine with it. He gave me loads of advice for my next 4 years, even what vitamins to take to feel better. Easy to get along with, easy to pass, befriend your professors and the course gets so much easier.
His attendance policy is ridiculous. He is an anti-masker, and while battling with the department he suggested we could have class outside since they can't accommodate his "disability". He doesn't have a phone which he alluded to reasoning so the government won't be able to track him. He is alright to talk to individually, but overall a lunatic.
The worst professor Ive ever had. You cannot get greater than a 78% on a paper, even when other professors review the same essay. Just get a different professor, its easier!
Let me be real. My GPA is 3.9. I have never missed a college class, ever. With that being said, I did horrible in this class. I worked as hard as I could and still could not succeed. As an English major, it made me want to switch departments. You cannot receive anything above a 80 no matter how hard you try. I do not recommend
Dr. White can seem intimidating to students at first, but that is just his personality. His linguistics class was hard to get the hang of, and I admittedly slacked. His testing method was stressful; I remember having to set up an appointment for a 1on1 test. He was lenient when he didn't have to be. He has an interesting background. Recommend him.
I'm a straight A student, but I struggled in this class for absolutely no reason. His course load was significantly larger than any summer class I've taken. He's a tough grader but doesn't give good feedback on how to improve your work. Ended the course with an 89.92%, and he wouldn't round it up to an A. I would never take a class from him again.
Dr White is probably one of the worst teachers I've had. gives limited information on topics he expects us to write about and doesn't give enough time to even write an essay. I went from writing A+ papers in high school to barely making Ds if I'm lucky Cs on his papers, and he will never tell you what's wrong.
It is a difficult class but it's nice challenging yourself. Dr. White is a nice person but is a tough grader. Don't get discouraged but just expect to actually apply yourself to the class. The essays are difficult but he gives meetings to tell you what to correct. Quizzes are online and attendance is mandatory.
Dr. White is very intimidating at first but lightens up once he gets to know you. Native American Lit was one of my favorite classes but he is a very harsh grader. Probably would not take another one of his courses but he isn't awful.
Dr. White is an amazing professor and a tough grader, but he wants to see you succeed. If you are shocked to receive low grades in this class because you were an A plus student in high school, new flash! You are in college now and it's tough. You need to apply yourself and do the research. If you need assistance, he is willing to meet with you.
Dr. White is the most genuine professor I have ever met. He helped me in my life in so many ways & he is incredibly intelligent. I noticed people wining over grading and amount of work, it seems they have forgotten they are in a COLLEGE level course; He treats it as such. If you need help he is MORE than happy to assist, just speak up & participate
He seems intimidating at first but he really does care about your grade. He is highly intelligent and challenges his students to be better. He offers opportunities to fix your papers for extra credit. He also has quite a few other extra credit opportunities. He does grade hard but if you participate in class and engage I it will be better.
He makes you take quizzes before he teaches you thew lesson and then gives you 8 minutes for the quiz. it is impossible to take the quiz when you don't know anything about the book and then expects you to get it done in 8 minutes.
This class is pretty hard for a rock studies class. You take weekly quizzes and do weekly wrap-ups that are very hard to get good grades on. You have to really listen to what he says/ ask him what you are doing wrong and that will improve your grade slightly. He will make you meet with him every time you miss and doesn't accept any absence excuses.
Homework included timed quizzes, discussion posts, and short papers. All which have no rubrics and limited feedback. All lessons were taught by the students, so you rely on your peers to give you the correct information. He doesn't except absences for ANY reason what so ever, if you miss class you have to write an essay.
He is an amazing professor the best one SRU has to offer.
Dr. White is one of the best professors I have come across. He really does care about his students and their education. SRU is lucky to have him. One of the nicest profs once you get to know him. Helped me feel more responsible for my own education, which I didn't expect. Oh and he's got an extremely interesting backstory. Happy to have known him!
I LOVE Dr. White!!!!! He is tough when it comes to grading, but it only pushes you to be better. He teaches his students how to think critically and for themselves by going around in a circle and having everyone participate. Once you get past the anxiety of participating, it is extremely fun and his lectures are always very interesting and useful!
Very strict absence policy. This is to the point where he refuses to respect excused absences by the school. I had a friend who was told to quarantine with COVID, but it still counted toward their overall absences. Your fifth absence is an automatic F, so they were on the verge of failing for a long time because they were required to miss class.
He was a horrible professor. If you miss class, you basically fail. Avoid him at all costs.
Dr. White really cared about his students and how much they improved throughout the year. He definitely grades very hard on essays if you are used to a high school level grading criteria.
His class is so much fun and he is hilarious. Very interactive with his students and gets to know everyone.
Dr. White is awesome, his pink email at the beginning of the semester was fascinating and it seemed like it was going to be TERRIBLE. I was thankfully wrong because his interactions and the way he teaches are so smart and to the point. He is funny, knowledgeable, and great with many interesting thoughts and ideas. Would HIGHLY recommend!
Disrespectful please do not take this man confused how he has a job.
Dr. White's class is challenging but rewarding. He pushes students to think critically, with engaging lectures and mandatory participation. The textbook and Unstuckstudy were helpful for exam prep.
Dr. White is incredibly thought-provoking, challenging students with unique and unconventional perspectives on the meaning of life. His classes demand effort, but the reward is a transformative shift in understanding. For those who are ready to think deeply and question their assumptions, his courses are truly unforgettable.
Be prepared to get B's on every assignment. If you miss one question on a quiz, you get a B because there are 10 questions, worth only 8 points. Also, be sure to check your attendance. I was only absent 2 classes, and he marked me absent 5. One day, he marked me absent when I gave a presentation in class.
This dude is the worst professors I've ever had in my life. Absolutely no feel.
This professor is by far the worst professor I have ever had. Is not understanding whatsoever when you can't be in class. Oh and when you miss class it's another essay! This dude is torture to sit with in class and listen to, get a different professor. He takes the class way too seriously for a pre req lay off pal.
This professor is not forgiving at all if you miss a class, Sorry, I had a family member in the hospital on death's door, so I missed one class. If you miss, you need to write another essay on a topic he gives you, and it's due by the next class period. Get ready to read an entire book during the weekend and write a 600-word paper every week.
I am currently taking this class as an online course, but i have never written so much for a class before in my life. You have to complete a 600-800 word reflection at the end of each week based on the readings that were assigned for the week. Never gives out 100%s, will always find something to dock you points on. Would not recommend him.
If I'm going to honest, this class is very rigorous, however you can get through. It is one of those classes that you just need to accept that it is going to be challenging and unfair. Dr. White is not a very approachable professor, the lack of emotion of which he speaks makes walking into lecture unbearable (especially at 8:00 a.m.). Don't take!
He's not even that bad. He's an honest man who may seem harsh, but he's pretty chill and has some good takes. He does grade kind of harshly on the papers, but that can be a good thing if you're going into a professional field that requires good writing skills. Compared to other critical writing teachers i've seen, he's not bad at all with workload.
