This guy is the man! He is super funny and an amazing teacher. Even though the matterial is dry he will always get you to laugh somehow and learn alot along the way. He really wants you to get an A. He grades only on tests and one paper and he has practice test almost identicle to the real one. If you want econ you NEED kolb

A very good teacher, if you ask anyone who has taken his classes before, they'll tell you that he wants you to succeed. Also, it's a low-workload class (4 exams, 1 paper, no other homework outside of studying)

Very good and easy teacher. He also has a great sense of humor. One problem with his class is that he gives an A if you score over 95%, which is somewhat higher than the norm. If you don't make lots of stupid mistakes on the tests, its an easy, though worthwile, A or A-.

Kolb is funny, helpful, and wants to see you understanding things. Well organized notes and handouts, along with practice questions for exams. Quizzes are easy, not much reading, no homework. Personally, lectures do get a bit long because he explains so much.

Kolb was SUCH a nice guy, really cares about how you do in his class. I made the mistake of not studying much for the tests - but you neeeeed to do this to get a good grade. Other than that, no homework - just quizzes that are really easy. Study study study! Kolb is awesome - take him.

Prof Kolb is a sweet guy! He knows his stuff, he's got hilarious stories and they apply very well to the subject content. He gives a lot of quizzes so pay attention in class! Even if you only study a little bit, you will get an A.

I think econ is boring, but Fred is a good guy. If I have to take econ, I'm glad Fred is my professor because he makes it painless and has a good sense of humor. However, it still is econ, and I still find it boring. But again, Fred is a great guy.

Prof. Kolb is a great professor and his classes are easy. You will learn a lot without feeling inadequate. This class, as well as any other that he teaches, is worth taking. I strongly recommend him. He is one of the best in the department.

If you are required to take Econ 103, Fred Kolb is the way to go. He's fun and makes the material real. He uses practice exams that help a lot! Take him!!!

If you have to take an Econ class, you should take Fred's class. He explains everything in a way you can actually understand. He helps put things in relation to real-life situations. He gives out study guides and notes. He is a pretty funny and outgoing guy. He makes the class interesting, even at 8am!

Highly recommend. Dr. Kolb is so easy. He literally gave me an A on a test I skipped! He told me he knew I was a hard working student so he just averaged my other 2 test scores and gave me that grade on a test I wasn't there for. Instead of getting a C I deserved I got an A in the class!

EASY CLASS!!! and very interesting!!! kolb is hilarious too!! four tests..but you get the old exams and if you use those, easy A! a quiz almost every monday but first two wrong don't count against you. and you drop 2 lowest quiz scores..i love kolb :)

Dr Kolb is one of the kindest professors I have ever had. His main goal is to get you interested in Economics. He assigns very little homework. His lectures are a little bit boring but otherwise a really great professor who really cares about each individual student.

There was allot of work but all the work he assigned helped make the final exam really easy.

After econ in high school I wasn't interested in it at all, and the only reason I took this class was for a buisness major, but Professor Kolb really got me interested in it. Had him for Micro online this summer. One of the easiest classes I have ever taken. He was fun, kinda fits the cute-old-man thing even though he somehow used to coach hockey. Really nice guy!!However, it was a bit too easy: i feel like my intelligence was slightly insulted and I could have decided not to learn and still get an A. Still, recommended

Professor Kolb is a fantastic professor. He is enthusiastic and resourceful. If you take advantage of the resources he gives you (the videos, Aplia, practice tests, and note outlines) there is no way you won't ace the class. Kolb is great.

Tests are easy if you pay attention in class - I only used my book for the Aplia assignments (hint: don't wait til the last minute to do them all). Hilarious professor. Probably my favorite professor I have had. Really cares about his students. Always offers examples to make sure you understand. Gave 3/4 of the answers for the final to us. Lots of office hours available.

Fred is a very helpful professor! I took the class online in an 8 week period and it covered 15 chapters. It wasn't as bad as it sounds because he spaced out the assignments very well and was willing to help on any questions students had!! If you learn best by reading the text book, take this class online!!

Great teacher, although he has a lot of examples that sometimes croud his lectures. He is very funn and will keep you awake. Also, he makes everything very easy to understand and prepares you very well for the exams.

Fred is a great professor who will do everything he can to make sure his students understand the content. If you show up to class and do the review exams he offers there is no reason to get less than an A in the class. Most likely one of the easiest classes on campus, despite is you are interested in economics or not.

Fred is pretty eccentric but a good teacher. He wants his students to learn and uses real-world examples. Make sure you study for exams, but he gives fair warning of what will be on them and covers everything in class. He has lots of stories that are fairly amusing.

I took micro with Kolb as a fusion-online course, which translated to all the homework being online. The class was pretty easy as long as you do the assignments, which will prepare you well for the exam. Kolb makes economics about as fun as it can be, so if you have to take 103 or other econ that he teaches, I would strongly recommend.

Kolb was a great instructor. He was great at returning questions via email which is important when taking an online class. He made econ fun, and his videos for the online class really helped. You can tell he really loves econ and isn't just going through the motions. Excellent instructor!

His lectures were really easy to understand, and I didn't fall asleep. Microeconomics can be a hard thing to understand, but he really broke it down and helped me understand it.

Made Microeconomics very easy to understand. I took Macro before with another professor at UWM and it was awful. Kolb's lectures were also interesting, and didn't make me dread going to class. I would definitely recommend him to other students.

There were only 3 exams one quiz and some really easy homework, and it was all extremely easy. He gives a really big extra credit bonus for the final and I got 100% on the first two tests. I took this class online and it was the best decision ever! It's only half a semester and there's a weekly quiz with the reading and 2 straight-forward reflection papers. Fred always emailed me back within minutes and graded everything really fast. Really easy and well worth it!

Kolb is honestly one of the best professors I've had so far! He is so passionate about econ and he truly cares about how you do in class. Tests are so easy. He gives practice tests and lets you get three points off and STILL get 100%. One time I even got four wrong and still got 100%. Tests are all multiple choice (normally 28 questions). Easy A.

Fred is awesome! He is so enthusiastic and passionate about econ. He is always willing to help and truly cares about all of his students. He wants you to succeed. Textbook is not necessary because there is an online one available. Easy A, would take again in a heartbeat.

Some of the materials are pretty tough but he's usually always available to help. He'll also post up videos going over anything that was unclear in class.

Took this class online and it was very easy. One reflection each week and either a problem set or questions from the book he makes you read. Learned a lot about investing and it was and easy A so I would definitely recommend taking the class with Dr. Kolb.

Freddy Kolb is the man and is a really cool dude. His lectures aren't bad because he pretty much just talks about how much he loves folding laundry and his love for Switzerland. Tests are identical to the practice exams that he gives out on D2L. You don't even have to go to class just do the practice exams and aplia is easy.

This class is very simple, there is an online textbook that you must use for assignments but you get multiple attempts on those and on the quizzes. Kolb gives massive amounts of extra credit, you have to try to do badly.

Fred was my favorite professor my freshman year. Loved him so much that I am taking him again second semester for macro econ. Take the partly online course if possible. The Aplia is all you need to know for the class.

Greatest teacher I've ever taken at any level of schooling. He is the nicest guy in the world. There were 150 students in my class with him, and he cared for each individual.
