Is a super cool guy and a great teacher. Just make sure you show up every day, that's really the only thing he asks.

Super awesome teacher! He know so much I don't think I have learned more information I will use from any other professor and I am not a political science major.

He is a good teacher once you get passed the intial class. You learn what you pay attention to.

Lee is awesome! He's all talk the first day and will try to get you to drop. Hates freshman, so if you're one, don't take this class. Goes off on tangents but is still very clear. Assignments are well laid off and he swears like a sailor. Sexy man.

He is great....the funniest prof that i've ever had. Make sure you know it's from its and you'll be ok. If you can try and get him to talk about what he's good at. Makes for a fun day.

Fair guy. Respect him and he'll respect you. Papers are fairly easy, as long as you proofread for spelling and grammar. Watch a lot of movies, read books. All in all, a good course, and an easy B, put in a little effort for a B.

Definitely a very smart guy. He's also hilarious and says it like it is. If you don't like blunt people, don't take his class. I learned a lot, even beyond the material. Says "What's up dog?" to me now whenever I see him. Cool guy.

A very interesting character. Will try to get you to drop first time by scaring you, don't worry, he never follows up. Very bright, but thinks he knows more than anyone (he does know quite a bit) Doesn't care about you opinion of him. Nice guy tho.

A great, intelligent man who has a really good sense of humor. Classes and papers may seem easy, but if you dig in, they're beneficial. If you ever need a letter of recommendation, he's the man to see. Don't be a slacker in his class!

Great man. Talks about his personal life, but it applies. Grading is weird sometimes. Gave a blanket A once because he thought we were all bright people.

Awesome professor! He's definitely not too concerned with being politically correct, and he's absolutely hilarious. You'll learn a lot in his class, and he does expect you to write a paper a week, but he's a fair grader, and once you know what to expect, it's not hard to do well on his papers

Gotta love Lee! Yes, he is Fu*king awesome! He will swear at you and make you feel like you are never going to pass the class, but you will learn so much! He is an amazing professor who is so intelligent that it just astounds you. He knows how he wants things and won't accept anything else.

If you can make it through the first few classes, you will do fine. He seems a little scary at first, but he's just trying to weed out the slackers. You'll defiantely learn a lot in his classes. There's a paper due every week, but it's only a page usually. Lots of videos and class discussions.

Be ready for some abuse, especially the first few weeks. If you just want bubble tests, take another class. If you want to learn a lot stick around. This guy is smart. One page paper every week, no too bad just watch spelling and syntax. Overall I thought he was great.

Lee is awesome. He is honest to God a fair person. He is very blunt, and if you can't handle the truth don't take his class. He knows what he is talking about, and ask questions. You will learn a lot during his classes. Don't be intimidated by him, cause he honestly is a nice guy.

Paper everweek, likes to talk, and is very intelligent. He swears and will offend people, but if you can get past that, he's alot of fun to take. There are just three rules to remember. Life isn't fair, when your in his class, he is smarter than you, and if his vocabulary bothers you, tough luck.

You've got to be able to write!!!! I'm not kidding at all!! You will be writing many papers and they have to be perfect. He won't take crap work from anyone. If you're wondering if you should take him... well, in his words, "Do you feel lucky?"

if you pay attention in class, and voice your opinion, the class is not too hard. lots of papers, but all have to be under 30 words, the shorter they are the more he likes them. CHECK YOUR WORK. he will try to scare people away at first, but stick with the class, its not too hard.

Though I only had Lee as a joint Prof. in Orientation he seems AWESOME! Very easy to talk to and seems really interesting. I would love to have the chance to take a real class with him in the future.

Great professor. Professor Lee will forever be my favorite professor at WSU. He is by no means easy, so don't let others fool you into thinking he will let up on you. His classes are great because they make you feel like you have actually accomplished something academically worthy.

Hard headed

Great Class! love it! discussions are amazing, learned a ton in that class, and if anything bothers you, don't be afraid to ask him afterclass, really.

One of the best proffesors I've. Seems like a jerk at first but lightens up over time. Speak up in class, get to know him and he'll like you. No tests, justs short papers.Be prepared for him to swear at you and make fun of your daddy. Class discussions are great, hes not afraid to be honest with you

This was one of the most amazing classes I've ever taken. He scared the hell out of me the first day, but after that he was amazing. He cared so much about each individual and was always eager and willing to help. His attentivenss to my needs will always save him a spot as one of the greatest prof I've ever had.

I was scared out of my mind on the first day of class, but stuck with it to try to go outside my comfort zone. Best choice I ever made. Great Prof, but a little nuts. I can see how some people wouldnt like him if you are easily offended. dont take this if you're uptight. recomend being opinionated. Good class I'd recomend to anyone who isn't shy.

Dr. Lee comes off really tough the first few weeks, but hes actually a really nice guy and if you do alright, A's and B's on his papers, you'll do fine. Most everything in the class is pass/fail, including the exams. Don't be fooled by him, hes a great guy, and although a little absent-minded, he is quite brilliant.

Beyond a doubt the best prof I ever had and will ever have. If you dont like him, you are a sissy who is afraid of criticism and intellectual thought (period).

Scary the first week but then he softens up. He REALLY challenges you and voices a lot of criticism but is that truly bad? He just wants to make you better and is actually quite friendly despite the demeanor he puts across. SMART man who will change you for the better. Overall a B+/A- because I would definitely take another class with him!

All you have to do is get past the first class. He puts up a mean front to get the weak people to drop the class, but it gets realy easy and he gets nice after that. A lot of good discusions in class. He makes it very interesting. There is a lot of papers to but they only have to be 25 lines. I recomend this class a lot!

Professor Lee is quite a character. He tries to get you to drop the first couple days/weeks... but then he settles down. Don't take him unless you can deal with curse words and inappropriate comments from him now & then. He definitely KNOWS his stuff... just make sure you're in the frame of mind that HE is better than the students, in his classes.

Best professor ever! I have never thoroughly enjoyed a class so much--he is well worth putting up with for the first few days. He can be a little scary, but the books, discussions, papers, and personality are just awesome. I could listen to him talk all day--he's hilarious and articulate (hard mix to find).

You either hate him or love him. I really liked him, but he didn't like me. I was afraid to put anything bad on his evaluation, because he would talk about it in another class. He accused me have having a learning dissability. And don't even think of missing class, not even if you are in the ER, but if you can take all this, He's pretty damn smart!

LOL THIS GUY IS HILARIOUS.. today was only the first day and i love him.. the man only knows how to swear.. swore over 50 times in a 3 hour class.. he makes fun about himself for not having a girlfriend.. sounds like a total hardass but probably because he says he doesn't like his students..

scary at first but thats only so he can scare people to drop his class since he doesnt like big classes, papers are challenging, i work hard and still only manage to get a B as my highest grade. dont take this class if you have low self esteem, he will rip you to shreds with how how he comments on your papers. very funny though teacher though!!

He is a great guy. Scares the crap out of you the first couple of weeks but lightens up once the "posers" drop the class. Swears up a storm, keeps it interesting.

So as you have read he does make the hard class to get it down to his comfort level. Unfortunetly when you class is huge to begin it doesn't work. So he was like that all year, but looking back it was more funny then depressing. Classy man. Olive's in the Martini this one..

Dr. Lee is my favorite professor on campus. Conversations are always stimulating and you can tell he loves what he does. A little intimidating at first, but has a fabulous sense of humor. Do the work, read the books, and participate. You will not do well if you slack, but the effort is 100% worth it.

Fred Lee is the man! The class is not hard, it just requires thought. Class consists of listening to him talk (hilarious and interesting), watching movies, and class dicussion. He comes off scary the first week to scare off the masses but stick around and you will be happy you did. Take the class with a friend and its all the better.

If you don't want to be there he will know and doesn't care if you don't come but he has a lot to offer. Good Professor, good classes, just have to get past the first few weeks so he can weed people out.

He is a great teacher if you get on his good side. Offers great viewpoints but likes to hear himself talk a lot which can lead to him lengthening class and talking about random crap. but he is a great teacher and funny! recommend.

Lee is a good teacher, he just doesnt like lazy students. Hes sorta mean in the first week and then he is nice. He wants you to participate, not sit in the back and text. He can get boring because he does ramble on off topic a lot. He never ends class early or cancels class but will reward you with pizza or coffee sometimes. Take him.

The first two weeks of class you will want to drop. Don't, he wants to weed out the weakest links and he is very successful with that. You are going to learn so much from this man. He grades hard but is always perfectly clear on what he expects. Follow the rules and do the readings and you will be fine. You can't slack off in this class ever.

If you are looking for an easy grade, steer clear of Dr. Lee, he will eat you alive. If you don't mind actually learning something about our political system (and yourself), Lee is as good of a professor as you will find. He'll scare you out of the gate, but after he gets the slackers to drop, he is hilarious and fascinating to listen to.

Great prof and laid back. His teaching style is awesome. Sure there is a short 15 lined paper every week, but the rest of class is discussion. No notes, tests, and the final is a poem on anything you want to write about. Very enjoyable class and different compared to other classes.

Dr. Lee is one of the best professor's I've had. His class revolves around discussion, he never lectures. He listens to students and is interested in what you have to say. If you go to his office hours he will love you. Final grade is determined on what he thinks you deserve. He wants to give higher grades because he wants his students to excel.

Ugh Fred is the best, he is hilarious and honest. He is a very tough grader and will destroy your paper. 1 paper a week by only 15 lines long. He used to teach at Princeton and is very smart. Favorite class I have taken so far, it has made me a better student. He is blunt and will say stupid funny stuff with no filter at all. WOULD RECOMMEND!!!!!!!

There are no tests, but 15 papers. He is a tough grader, but i recommend the class because he is hilarious and you get to state your opinion on everything. He seems intimidating at first, but he is a great guy! never a dull moment in that class

You don't take Prof Lee because he is easy, you take him because he will challenge you. Participate, engage and you will learn.

Dr. Lee was a great teacher. The first day he is very intimidating, but otherwise the class was easy. Write a paper weekly on a question he gives you and he will discuss the question with you if you don't understand it. He really cares about learning his students names to get to that personal level.

He's a good funny guy, but a tough grader. At first he comes off as scary, but only to get rid of the people who won't compete for a good grade. No tests or QUIZES, just papers. The class is all discussions and videos, but he gets you to think critically. I would take him again

If you're looking for a class where you'll learn more about yourself than you will about curriculum, you've found your guy. Dr. Lee is tough and a little stuck in his ways of teaching but overall is interesting, respectable, and even kind of funny. I recommend you take at least one class with him. It's worth it.

One of the best professor's at WSU who cares about student's success. Yes he is very strict, but if you show up to class, do your work, participate in class, obey his class rules, you will learn that he cares more about your success than you.

I highly suggest taking a class with professor Lee before you graduate. He likes to scare students on the first day of class, but he is actually a really nice guy. He cares about his students getting good grades and he gives all students a chance to share their thoughts and opinions. He really teaches students how to think about the world.

Dr. Lee is someone who makes you think critically. His teaching style in the upper tier courses is based on the socratic method which makes you effectively defend your points. He seems tough and hard headed but he has an open mind to points he may disagree with and will quickly compliment you for your hard work.

Never laughed so hard in a class. My section was a 3 hour night class with a paper due every week. He's an awesome professor and is genuinely interested in what you have to say. Make sure you do the readings because discussions are a large part of the class time.

not like any professor i've taken he is very knowledgeable and voices his opinion. He is not afraid to curse in class. Only papers no tests quizzes or finals. Context of the papers were difficult to understand and first but once you got the hang of it it was not bad. I highly recommend his class, its very eye opening

Dr. Lee is a really great professor who connects with his classes and helps broaden the horizons of his students- POLS 177 is almost entirely group discussions- which I personally really liked, and it was almost always engaging. The only thing about Professor Lee that stopped me from giving him 5 stars is his old-school methodology.

Professor Lee is a GREAT professor. When coming to class, be ready to discuss the readings assigned for class, explain and voice your opinion on subjects, and to laugh... a lot. Dr. Lee is one of the most amazing professors I've had here at Winona State. He can be tuff on grading papers but he makes sure everyone's paper is anonymous to avoid being biased. In the beginning he acts like a typical mean teacher but once he warms up to your class he loves to tell his stories.

I really enjoyed taking this class. The professor can be intimidating at first but after a few classes, he is very fun to talk to. You write short papers almost every week and you have to participate in class discussions. I think this is a great class to take if you want to challenge yourself a little. I really enjoyed Dr. Lee and his class. He definitely offers his own perspectives and opinions, but I never ever thought he was wrong. As long as you try, you will succeed. He wants to hear his student's thoughts and is super passionate. As the course goes on, you really get the hang of the style. Challenge yourself and what you think you know!

He's not necessarily bad, but interesting. His criteria is very specific and if you don't have the same opinions as him he will grade you harsher. This class is really interesting and I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure I would take any of his classes again as he said on the first day of class "I assign homework on the first day so you'll drop my class"

He tries to scare you at first, but I really enjoyed the class after the first few weeks. Lots of papers, but if you are honest and thoughtful, you will succeed. Go to the writing center!

I really enjoyed POLS 177. I like that Professor Lee didn't have people raise their hand in class, but would call on us so every student got an equal amount of sharing time. I wish more of my professors would do this. Professor Lee is an easy professor to talk to outside of class which is very appreciated.

Dr Lee is that one professor that you'll remember and glad you took his class...I've taken 3. He is tough and scares you the first week. He wants all the slackers to drop, why should he waste his time and knowledge? He is smart, engaging, and you will be that much richer that you have taken his class. Dr. Lee has done it all teaching at universities all over the nation, and France. I feel very lucky to have had a class with him in Winona Minnesota. In this course we wrote weekly papers and used these papers for extended discussion in class. This was informative and also fun, at least it was for an older student interested in American politics.

Professor Lee is maybe the most unique professor I've had and it's a good thing. Attendance was mandatory for an A and every week we were assigned a concise paper based on a given topic. So long as you come to class prepared, you will do well. He is very smart and cares about the content. He has cool personal experiences that enrich the material.

Dr. Lee is one of my favorites of my college career, He is retiring soon so take him while you can! 177 was a interesting class. He gives students time to speak and makes sure everyone is heard. He's harsh with his grading but enjoys the discussion, He has opinions and will easily get off topic debating students. He makes an effort to learn names

This is definitely my favorite professor this year. He is brutally honest and hilarious. When having a one-on-one conversation, Dr. Lee is very kind. He teaches well and makes sure everyone understands. No tests just effort in the class and you will pass.

No textbook is needed. He will try to scare you the first week of class but after that he is very relaxed and nice. Only assignments you will do are essays and they aren't that bad. Dr. Lee is excellent! He speaks his mind and will let you know if he disagrees, but he never wants you to change your opinion because it matters. You will have a lot of papers to write, but they are relatively straightforward concepts; he grades on his terms and is thorough. Also, he is hilarious! 10/10 best chalkboard eraser ever!

Take a class with Dr. Lee if you want to laugh and be sure to have tough skin. His opinion is always going to be voiced and if he disagrees with yours, he will call you an idiot. or worse. I learned a ton from him and he has a lot of really neat life experiences that he shares in class.
