VERY good prefessor...a lil difficult but GREAT..helped a LOT when I sat for my PCAT exam

Tests were hard, but he's an excellent teacher. You can tell he really enjoys teaching his students and getting everyone involved in the class.

pain in the ass unless u pay complete attention and are there 100 percent of the time, tests are a pita but other than that great teacher.

Had for Lab and fully online class, very nice, explains, is concerned, diverisfied grading, not just standardized testing. Respect him and visa versa. I like his rules, sometimes we need those bounderies to learn :)

Brilliant teacher! Fun ways in learning, lots of notes given to you. if you pay attention you will pass the class.

His got some cool stories

All I can say is that If I became a professor someday I wish I would teach like him. Another incredible asset to BCC.

I took his online class, it was difficult granted that it was a Biology online, but as long as you read your notes and tried your hardest on the tests and made sure you did the wordshops for extra credit, you will be fine, i pretty much got all c's and d's on my tests and still passed with a B!

The guy should have gave me a d, but he gave me a C. All his test were online with his notes he is very forgiven and always willing to help. I could have got an a if i tried. He may come off as a prick but its all show.

He's the greatest professor in the whole world!!! (no im not a stocker!) he kow how to make the class more interesting and not make us sleepy. He makes Biology fun. I like his examples because he's always giving us examples relating to our daily life.

The easiest class someone can take. his test are on the internet, so u can organized yourself to know how u going to take it. very easy teacher and very, very, very smart. too bad is not teaching BSC1011. i recommend everybody to take him.

Excellent teacher. Knows his subject. The most interesting lectures I've ever received.

Very good teacher he knows his stuff. He always is willing to help and will gete back to you and keep you updated whene you need it. he does have a dark sense of humor. Make sure you print out his lectures from the web CT.

Hard at times

I took his webCt class and it was a lot of info b/c of the Lectures but the exams come from there. Good teacher knows his stuff and gives you a break in the end.

I took his webct class it was alot of notes but you dont really have class work.Butyou have to study a bit but the class is not hard at all because I am very lazy

I took online course DO NOT BUY BOOK! Tests from lecture notes & accompanying reviews.Answer all questions, AND YOU WILL ACE EXAMS. Final is tough, but organize all the chapters & you'll be fine.Extra credit is easy 10pts.EASY ONLINE CLASS-WATCH THE DEADLINES!

All I can say is this guy knows his stuff. If you're a science major, this is the class for you. He prepares you for the harsh reality of being a science major, he's very helpfull when you ask him the right questions. Brilliant lecturer. Bio isn't exactly exciting, but I can say I never slept in his class. Watch out for his dark sence of humor :)

PROFESSOR SEARCY REALLY KNOWS HIS STUFF! HE GIVES YOU ALL THE NOTES YOU NEED FOR THE CLASS AND THEY'RE WRITTEN BY HIM. YOU HAVE TO STUDY A LOT TO PASS BUT YOU CAN DO IT. DO THE STUDYGUIDES AND WORDSHOPS THEY REALLY HELP BOOST YOUR GRADE. TAKE HIM IF YOU WANT TO LEARN...

Great professor. Very organized, always prepared for class and made everything very clear. It was a difficult class but the things he teaches you are useful for other science classes. You have to study a lot and it's a lot of work, but in the end it pays off. DO HIS STUDY GUIDES!!! They were VERY helpful. Hard tests but if you study you'll be fine.

O.K CLASS TO TAKE

Good professor. Schedule was very simple to follow, grading was clearly understood. He made himself available by chat one night each week, and was always available by email. Just what you would ask for from an online professor. I got a B admittedly without a tremendous amount of effort.

Prof. Searcy is hard yes! but as a bio major im glad i took him. After I passed him NO science class is hard for me anymore. He is clear, he helps you out, make sure that when you ask him questions is because you already read the chapter. He does not use the book in class u must read the chapters before you go to class.he even tells u how to study

awesome teacher!! yes he tough but he makes the class fun and interesting to attend!!... test are right off notes and he make the notes veru clear!.. love his stories it helps me rememebr the material!! love this teacher

This guy knows his stuff but expects you to know just as much! Tests were too broad I would study for hours and hours and still fail! No study guides and he would test us on 4-5 chapters! Take this class if you are really studious..if not, seriously reconsider your options because you might not do well!

Like said before he knows his stuff very well, he does teach at a brisk pace and this course will require studying but I can say I have never learned biology so easily. When he explains he tries to relate things that students can relate to and makes jokes so they stick.

I thoroughly enjoyed his class,but be prepared for a challenge.If you think you are going to study "cute furry animals" and are taking it to satisfy your science req.and/or for fun,you may be disappointed. The class is hard,it is an UPPER level science so be prepeared to delve into some complicated issues. Excellent teacher and truly knows his fiel

Professor Searcy's tests are from his notes,4 tests, drops one: 1st is MultipleChoice, then 2 essays, last is take home. Don't miss his class, his notes are valuable. His class is NOT EASY AT ALL, but this guy really knows his stuff. You will have to study, but you should anyways because all of this reappears and you will need to know it for 1011

He's a really nice guy and great teacher. BUT do not take his class unless you can handle his test (all essays)and if you don't study a lot. I personally couldn't handle it because I took another science (+labs) and an advanced math. His test do require lots of studying. So if you can handle that go for it! I wish you luck if you take his class

STUDY LIKE A MANIAC!!! EXAMS ALL ESSAY EXCEPT 1, DROPS LOWEST GRADE, GIVES SOME SURPRISE QUIZZES DURING SEMESTER. HE IS INTIMIDATING, HE EXPECTS STUDENTS TO KNOW AS MUCH AS HE DOES ABOUT BIOLOGY. A LOT OF INFORMATION.

The class is hard, you have to study a lot, not an easy A. Prof. Searcy has great teaching skills and will make class interesting. Test are from his notes, make sure you dont miss any class, take good notes and study a lot. Some of the tests were essay type not easy at all but will surely learn a lot.

hilarious prof. makes jikoes and relates them to science. But he is hard he should be teahing at a really good university. I studied for a week and still failed his test. He is ridiculously difficult.

Taking this class proved to me that anything is possible (like passing this class) YOU MUST STUDY AND ASK QUESTIONS!!! Class participation isn't graded, but it helps a lot. I still cant believe that I got a B in this class. Overall, an excellent professor.

Great Teacher! Had him for 1005 and 1010. Got a B in both classes. HE IS HARD! Make no mistake, lecture from his notes, and he allowed us to do review packets for extra credit(BONUS!)THis is not the norm. Pay attention don't be late, and never sleep on his class, you will be asked to leave. when you're done with his class you know your material!

Sweet, passionate old man but don't be fooled-- this is the TOUGHEST class I've EVER taken! Lot's of material & little grades. You *NEED TO STUDY* & know everything by heart. There were only 8 or so students left after the drop date! Ask questions & takes notes. You'll find yourself thinking about jellyfish & hookworms by the time class is over!

He is a GREAT professor; knows his material and notes are to the point. He is not an easy prof but if you study how you're supposed to, you will pass. His exams come right out his notes plus he has online quizzes help out too being that you can go back & review them even after being submitted. His class is worth taking if you really want to learn!

Extremely difficult class, very detailed, lots of memorization, and much to do. Weekly quizzes as long as 100 questions, and challenging tests. Got a B in the class though I learned it all so well. Now in higher level biology classes, his teachings helped me. Worth the hard work. This class is for serious Bio, Chem, Med, Environmental students.

Great professor, he is not easy best of all his notes are excellent and do not require to buy the book, do the online quizes and tests are similar. I recomend him if your are not a slacker and wants to learn Biology.

REALLY KNOWS HIS BIOLOGY. KNOWS IT SO WELL, THAT HE DOESN'T REFER TO THE TEXT. MANY QUESTIONS ON QUIZZES WERE NOT FROM THE TEXT, BUT HE WILL GIVE IT TO YOU IF YOU PROVE IT. HE GETS GRUMPY BUT, HE WILL TRY TO BE FAIR.
