Good instructor, explains the material well. Exams are true / false and multiple choice. if you study and do the assigned homework, which he checks at the beggining of the class, you will pass.

Prof. Ruiz is very specific, so if you do not like anatomy I do not recommend.There were only 4 exams, and he defiantly kept all of guessing what would be on the exam! I learned alot, I enjoyed the class and came out with an A, not an easy one.

This class is no walk in the park, 4 exams, no extra assignments nor quizzes given. He did curve one of the exams, much needed by the class. You must read and reread every chapter given, because everything in the chapter is, "fair game" .I did end up with a good grade, so I did gain confidence. I can understand where the bad ratings come from. He does not tell you exactly what is on the test and does not have extra credit but as a person he is nice. I got all As in this class because I read the book. You are in college, you have to READ! If you read the book then you are going to pass. READ YOUR BOOK!!

I thought he was a good teacher. He did fair curves on most of the tests, and is willing to talk to you if you need help. Reading the book is really important if you take him, but he outlines the important points. I got an A.

If you are lazy, do not take him. But, if you want to understand and not only to pass classes; He is a great professor to take. You are in college anyway. I like him very much. He is a no non sense professor. He will help you with his curves. He is fair.

I reluctantly took this class based on these rates but I'm glad i did.This is no kindergtn class. You have to READ and UNDERSTAND the material.If you're about easy grades,he's not 4 you. But he will answer any ?'s you have and clearly at that. He's very smart and worth takin if u really want to learn the material.Good curves too!

It all depends on the value you put on your education. It want to be challenged to think critically and truly learn. TAKE HIM. If you don't like reading(this college READING is a MUST) don't take notes, skip class with no REAL excuse, DON'T. As far as teaching he is an AWESOME teacher. Yes he has an accent, but he speaks superb English. U CHOOSE!;)

Definitely not an easy class but he knows what he's talking about. You HAVE to read the book and study for the tests. His tests are not easy.. make sure to pay attention to details. He's super intelligent and pretty funny. Interesting class. DON'T be late or miss the clas.. it's in your best interest to not. Just really study if you take his class.

My question is: What science class is easy? What teacher actually teaches you what is going to be on the board test? None. This guy is awesome, extremely intelligent, knows what he is talking about. And like any other class, if you dont study, you dont pass.I learned so much with.

Dr. Ruiz is EXACTLY what I like about an anatomy professor. He's HARD ... I had to be on point like I've never had to be in my life. Because of that, I know the material better than the other students in my nursing classes. This is about saving lives, not making friends. I only wish the other professors at MDC were like him. A++

If you care about your GPA please DO NOT take this professor. The problem is not that his class is hard. The problem is that his tests are made for students who have experience in medical field. I love my major (nursing), and during the course I studied every day because I knew he was hard , but my final grade was a devastating "B".DO NOT TAKE HIM.

This professor is great. He really knows what he is talking about. He knows EVERYTHING about the body. If you don't understand something all you have to do is ask. He is not there to baby you. His test come from the author's book collection. Just study. If your going to be in the medical field you need to know the whole body anyway. I passed.

Took his AP2 lab for 6 weeks summer term. One of the best professors I have ever had in MDC. I wish I took his lecture class as well. Tests are not easy, but this is the way to find out what knowledge you got so far. Highly recommend if you really want to know the class.

Dr.Ruiz does not play around and is very knowledgeable about the medical field.I would recommend him only if you're not lazy and are disciplined because you have to spend a lot of time studying. If you're expecting someone to hand you over an easy A without doing your part and actually learning then don't bother pursuing a career in medicine.

Dr. Ruiz doesn't deserves a negative comment. His class is hard but if science is the core to your major you must take AP class with him. He teaches at medical campus and so HE KNOWS WHAT THE MEDICAL CAMPUS faculties are looking for in regards to knowledge. Took Dr.Ruiz's Microbiology course.If you are interested in a career in the medical field you can't expect this course to be easy.He has high expectations, very knowledgeable and clearly transmits his concepts.Tests are challenging(critical thinking based),he is willing to help your improve grades if necessary. This professor clearly knows his stuff. This is an anatomy and physiology class. If you are not prepared to work, maybe you are not cut out for a career in health. There is a lot of reading and volumes of information to retain, with that, you come out of the end with actual knowledge... This is called learning. I feel professor Ruiz is outstanding.

He is a great professor ! He explains the topics clearly and then puts them in a practical setting or medical setting. You have to devote time to studying because it is a hard subject. He provides you with slot of resources to be able to do well in the exams such as PowerPoints, videos, homework. Use all the resources and attend his lectures!

Sooooo much work on Connect but it is fairly easy and it is a large portion of your grade.. Tbere is so much physiology to know that I needed to read and reread the book. There is no other way. Lectures are very good and he relates clinical experiences to help you understand. Do the work, read and read again. 5 tests . No quizzes

One of the things I most enjoyed about this professor is he incorporates career knowledge into his lectures. As a nursing student is helpful. He is a little soft spoken, but if you listen carefully he is quite funny. It helped during an evening class after work.

I took Professor Ruiz for both Microbiology and Anatomy 2, these are not easy courses. Its not fair to think that a professor will just pass you just because, theyre job is to teach and this professor does just that . He gives plenty of opportunities to pass the course and hes very knowledgeable. Put in the effort and the rest will come easy.

Mr. Ruiz enjoys teaching his students, and he really wants his students to succeed. He gives you the opportunity to learn the material during his lectures homeworks and online practice activities. The homeworks give you extra credit. He is very organized and caring. I definately recomend him!

Ive taken Dr. Ruiz for both MCB lecture and lab. The lab tend to have quizzes. But he tells you exactly what to study. The unknown test he gives additional resources to help you. He gives opportunities to bring your grade up if for some reason you didnt do well on a particular test. Overall amazing professor pretty sure I have As in both classes

The class subject itself is supposed to be challenging and difficult, but he helps you a lot throughout the whole semester. Professor Ruiz was amazing. The test are very easy if you do the online assignments, because the questions are very similar. There is no way to fail his class lectures and power points go over everything on the tests!! He also gives extra credit for attending health fairs. If your going into any medical field take him!!!

You will need a actual book, the online version wont really work as you will need it in class. All tests and the 1 PowerPoint are done in groups of 2 for his lab, make sure you pair up with someone thats not lazy and wants to pass. Hes very caring and will help you if your uncertain of something in the lab. Great teacher, so happy I took him.

EASY A! All you have to do is pay attention to the lectures cause we will test you on that. Do the connect activities and you'll be fine even if you don't pass the tests. CONNECT IS THE KEY! I definitely recommend him.

I took Dr. Ruiz last Fall at MDC North Campus, up to this day i have never had a better professor than him. He was taught us all the essential information for PA and RN school. 50% of his grade is online doing HW and quizzes. in his test he is a fair grader. Overall he is an amazing person and will guide you when asked for any career advice.

Honestly one of my favorite professors Ive taken. He explains lectures very clearly and allows for you to record him (do it, itll help). I took him for BSC2085 for summer B. Theres 5 tests & online homework. He grades fair but just do the work/Study. You wont fail as long as you study the lectures, he tells you exactly what will be on the test.

This professor is AMAZING!!!! You literally cannot fail unless if you're LAZY. He makes it entirely too hard to fail. He makes everything work for the students. Tells you when there is a test and what to study. He's very direct and specific. Such an amazing teacher I'd definitely take his class for anything science related.

This is an EASY class to pass. Just do your homework, take your quizzes and you'll be able to pass. He doesn't give midterm or finals. You take 5 quizzes 50 questions each every 2 weeks. There is no such thing as F in that class. He does have a little accent. Only problem Ive had in the class was his powerpoints were too Broad. Overall great pro.

Professor Ruiz is a great teacher. I have taken A&P 1 & 2 and MCB-2010 with him and if you follow his tips and everything he said you will get a good grade. 50% of the class is from the online assignments which also prepares you for the exams.

Dr. Ruiz brings a great physician-mindset to this course. He finds ways to make relevant connections between the course material and the medical field, which I felt helped me grasp deeper concepts. He is also hilarious, so expect to laugh. I really appreciated his flexibility when I was unsure I would be able to complete one of his online tests.

I had this professor for anatomy 1 and I can say what a great teacher. This was my second time taking this anatomy because i failed with the sorry teacher i had before. I passed all my test with this professor because this time i could better understand anatomy with him. If you want to get done and learn something, he is the professor you want.

This professor should be your be all end all for anatomy class. He made all concepts simple to understand despite being heavy subjects. Show up to class, take notes LISTEN to everything he says, do your online connect homeworks, and study the resources he provides. Should be at LEAST a B in this class but the A is absolutely attainable!

I am majoring in Tv, for me class was extremely difficult. Another challenge was not to fall asleep during the lecture, which was heavy on information. But prof. Ruiz is excellent educator, behaves professionally. Gives a lot of online prep. tests. If you do them, you are ready for in-class tests, and the grade goes up one point.

Amazing professor! He makes microbiology easy to understand and explains the material clearly. You will pass if you complete your MyPearsons assignments, quizzes, and the tests. He does his lectures by powerpoint and is extremely informative. You don't need the book because all of the information is in the PowerPoints. I highly recommend his class.

I love Fredy!!! Your grade is based on modules, so long as you do all the work and make decent grades on them you'll do fine. He tests are difficult and he doesn't give enough time. The syllabus is all out of whack. Don't expect to use it as a guide. He drove me crazy, but i'll def take him again.

Honestly he's not too bad. He offers a lot of work to keep your grade up so if you don't do well on a test it won't completely drop your grade. As long as you get the work done and you're prepared you will do well. Tests and quizzes are proctored on connect. All work is in the textbook and on connect. Downside is that he doesn't respond to emails.

Once you do your homework and go to each class you will pass , you can ask any question he answer respectfully .he one of the best MDC has , easy A . I would take him a million time , he a doc so he don't answer email right away but you can always ask in class I wish I could take him for hsc003. class was fun he know his stuff and you learn .

Dr. Ruiz is truly great, the textbook is online so you can have it on your phone. He makes sure to throughly explain everything & is very interactive & funny with his lectures. Pretty good at responding to your questions outside of class hours/dates too. He made functional anatomy such an enjoyable experience I would take his class again & again!

Professor Ruiz was great. A lot of students complained about him but i dont understand why.. he is very clear. The homeworks are very long but you have 2 weeks to do them. He offers a short quiz after every class that are easy A's and the chapter test every 2 weeks when the hw are due. Hes great, would take him again

a lot of students didnt like him because hes rude and does not respond after class. but u can cheat on all his quizes hw test and final exams nothing is procter and camera is not even required nor u saying im here for attendance is required. you can socratic everything and your fine, get him easy grade just do everything thats assigned & ur fine.

Dr. Ruiz is SO kind! In my class, students complained for no reason. If you're responsible & have time management, his class is easy. HWs are long, but he allows you 2-3 weeks to complete them. There's a short quiz after every lecture, which are easy A's. There're chapter tests 1 week after the HW is due, but he allows them to be open book. 100/10!

Microbiology is a hard class. It's packed with a lot of work and new diseases to learn. I'm happy I read and kept up with all the chapters by taking notes. Get ready to work.

This is my second time taking Dr.Ruiz as my anatomy & physiology and he's honestly a good teacher. Many people has complained that he's not good but if you keep up with the work I don't see how you can fail his class. There is a lot of HW but he gives you 2-3 weeks prior to complete. Good Luck!

Fredy Ruiz's ANATOMY class is challenging but rewarding. The workload is heavy, but attending lectures and using resources like the textbook and unstuckstudy can help you succeed. He's knowledgeable, though not always the most responsive. Overall, a worthwhile course.

First of all, HW IS HEAVY, you will have longggg about 5 hours hw to do, but everything on the hw is what u will find on the test, he doesn't do midterm or finals instead he does exams every 2 weeks, an A is a 95% or above , if u got a 94 just know u got a B😭 just make sure you manage your time do His hw and u should be good.

Taking him again for Anatomy Lab 2; He is a great professor; talks alot. He gives 200+ questions for homework and a test every class, but he is an easy A! Just turn in homework on time and tests are non-proctored and youll be fine. most of the learning comes from homework
