SHE JUST CAN'T TEACH...she's all over the place with her teaching skills that every class we seem to over the same thing. If I had known anything at all about her I would have taken another professor. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!! (can't make it any more clearer)
RUN!!!!! RUN FOR UR LIFE. SHE IS NOT FIT TO TEACH DOGS!
I agree, not the best and not the clearest Prof. Does not seems to care too much. Her notes are mostly the outlines of the book, but her questions are most likely ENCLEX type-be ready!
Ahhhh! How did this woman become a teacher?? And how did she get hired at Molloy. I regret not dropping this course, like the half of the class that knew better did
She is no as bad as everyone says. She expects you to do your work. This is college!!! She is approachable as long as you are respectful if you don't understand she will be happy to explain. overall she is an excellent Professor
Not as a bad as I expected but she certainly was a challenge...She wasn't very clear on how to do the research paper and her tests only had 20 questions that were very difficult. If you have her dont expect to get an A, if you kill yourself trying you'll get a B.
She is one of the most condescending people I have ever met. She is very vague on assignments and the project. And to top it all off, she doesn't seem interested in helping her students. I don't understand how she ever was a nurse.
She is horrible. Do not take her. She doesn't know what she wants from her students. IF you buy the textbook and study hard for the tests you should do ok. Not very approachable unless you suck up to her and she is very condescending and sarcastic with students.
I literally have no words for this women. She is the worst teacher I'v ever had. She has no idea what she is talking about half the time and she doesn't even know how to explain her own assignments. Very confusing class. i highly recommend to take another teacher. She is terrible.
If you have this women get out of that class now !!!! Worst professor I ever had
If you have her withdraw from her class now. She is the worst professor I have ever had ! Save yourselves
Professor doesn't make her own tests. Takes questions from test bank. She is incompetent test maker. We had 7 questions deleted from our 40 question final today. that is almost 1/4 of the test. Ridiculous and horrible.
Do not take her save yourself now. I am an A student and there is no way to get an A in her class. She does not make her own test she uses the books authors questions. She gives no notes the only way to study is to read the chapters over and over again until you memorize them. I have never had a professor I disliked at Molloy and she takes the cake
She refused to post or send out the PP slides then said the exams didn't come from the info from the PP, but the info in the PP is from the text. She didn't give time for us to take notes and got mad when we asked her to slow down. She contradicts herself and she's rude. Save yourself now and don't take her class
Excellent Professor
I found Dr. Pemberton to be very professional and presented the material well. You are expected to be prepared for class.
I guess if your not interested in doing any work, this is not the professor for you. The professor's teaching style forces you to use critical thinking skills and requires you to function as an adult learner, She is very approachable and wants her students to do well.
The professor's teaching style forces you to use critical thinking skills and requires you to function as an adult learner. She is very approachable and wants her students to do well. Class expectations are very clear. If you do your work there's no problem.
The BEST class I had this semester.
The Professor Provided a wealth of information-I enjoyed the class.
Wonderful Professor-made the class fun and interesting.
This was an excellent class. The professor is very thorough and takes time to work with you outside of class if you need help. I truly learned a great deal in this class.
Dr. Pemberton is truly an expert in Nursing Informatics and Nursing in general. She has implemented creative teaching strategies to move the students in the direction of being innovators and effective critical thinkers. I enjoyed the class and feel prepared to evolve in the specialty of Nursing Informatics. Thanks Dr. Pemberton
The professor was very knowledgdeable about the subject matter and presented the material well.
Dr. Pemberton is an awesome teacher who cares about her students and unfortunately has to deal with some rude students in the class. I applaud her composure and ever present smile as she makes learning fun-up and down the isles.
This course was presented in a manner that facilitated critical thinking and discussion. The professor was very interactive and incorporated the class. She brought the content to life with shared application stories. She was never distracted by rude students who I hope never to have as a nurse. Dr.Pemberton's class was interesting and exciting.
Dr. Pemberton is a dedicated teacher who actually teaches using different approaches to help the learner understand. Most important is that she takes time to meet with students to discuss content and go over exams. The PPT slides and reading assignments were clear and if one had difficulty, they must not have read the textbook. I enjoyed the class!
Honestly, she is one of my favorite professors at molloy. She is so nice and funny. We had so much fun in her class and yea we did a lot of work but as long as you work hard you will do well. She really loves what she is teaching and her students. I always looked forward to her class. Make sure you take her! She is the best!
Dr. Pemberton is very well learned and extremely knowledgeable. She encourages students to strive for excellence and gives her time tutoring beyond work hours. She comes to class with a smile and creates gaming activities to enhance students' participation. I found her class to be very informative and learned the principles of research.
powerpoints were a drag, you're better off reading the textbook. Genogram project was fun and easy. GOTTA read the textbook to pass the tests. She's very knowledgable
Prof. Pemberton is an awesome lady. She's definitely emulates an excellent professor. Her exams are structured like potential NCLEX questions and there are many options available for revision with her, in case you are not comfortable with your performance. She offers extra credit during classes, therefore its VERY IMPORTANT to participate and read
Absolutely LOVED this professor!! I would take her again for anything because she is my favorite professor in the nursing department by far! Her daughter was a teacher in my high school they are a great family. She is so helpful! She likes to meet with all students to review exams. Hope to have her again!
Prof Pemberton is what you could expect for a nursing professor. The class is long and often boring, but thats mostly because of that subject matter. She means well and is a nice lady. Extra credit is offered each time you just raise your hand and participate so that's always a plus. Tests are as difficult as can be expected.
I truly enjoyed this class. The professor is awesome and uses every teaching method to get students to understand the content: PPT, videos, gaming etc... She meets with students in her office to further explain the content and go over exams-teaching students how to apply their knowledge when answering questions. My score went from 72 to all 90s.
Dr. Pemberton brings excitement to the classroom in the way that she engages the entire class. She used varied methods of teaching to get students to understand the content including; unique PPT, Videos, & Gaming activities. She meets with students in her office to go over exams and further their understanding . I enjoyed her class.
She is the worse! Her tests have nothing to do with lectures. Very condescending and doesn't explain anything when you ask a question. Don't take her!
Dr. Pemberton is the best! Dr. Pemberton is an awesome professor. She is extremely knowledgeable and creative in her presentations. She spends time reviewing exams in small groups to enhance student understanding. She is a delight to have as a professor and anyone with a different view need to look at themselves. Especially the rude students.
Dr. Pemberton is an excellent professor. It is amazing how she smiles through some rude student behaviors. I love the way she makes students think with questions raised. I have a clear understanding of research and look forward to the opportunity to develop a study. Dr. Pemberton you are the best and your commitment to student learning is real.
Dr. Pemberton is an excellent professor. It is amazing how she smiles through some rude student behaviors. Dr. Pemberton you are the best and your commitment to student learning is real.
Even though lecture was long, Dr. Pemberton is a caring professor and I would take her again. Her exams were based off her notes and also the textbook so be sure to study from that. There was one group project which I didn't like but it was doable.
Dr. Pemberton is a great professor. She may be tough, but how can you expect to learn anything if you're looking for an easy A. I worked hard and got an A - so for those of you saying thats not possible in her class, you are wrong. Buy the textbook, pay attention in class, and you won't regret it. I would take her again if I could.
She is a beneficial asset for students. Very approachable, test prepare you for NC-Lex, gives a lot of useful unforgettable information. Benevolent Doctor with a great experience behind her. Caring , fair grader. Gives you feedback on your performance. She is brilliant and always keeps enjoyable atmosphere in class. God bless her!!!!!! Adore her!!
She is definitely a sweet lady, but this class is absolutely disorganized. She gives four exams, each about 20-25 questions based on the textbook and her notes, but her notes make absolutely no sense. I am an A student, and I did not understand what she was talking about the majority of the time. Use the textbook, the group project is an easy A.
Dr. Pemberton is an Awesome, Extremely Knowledgeable, and Caring Professor. She is creative in her teaching stye and encourages her students to apply critical thinking. She is extremely organized and flexible. For anyone who thinks otherwise, you may need a teacher who reads the textbook to you. Dr. Pemberton, I love your class.
she speeds through notes because 'you can read them later on your own' but they are not posted online... not that they make sense anyways. if you go to see her to talk about a previous test, she'll just tell you the right answers but she doesn't want to hear you explain your wrong answers or any of your opinions. quite rude but passable class
She's horrible and rude. You're lucky if she answers your email, and it took 2 months to get a meeting. Doesn't post grades. Speeds through her powerpoints and skips slides saying "you can read this later", but doesn't post powerpoints. Her test vary in question numbers, (had a 30 question test and then an 80 question test). No blueprint for test.
Really dislike Professor. Pemberton. Her tests are insane, they are not factual at all. Its mainly opinion based questions (which is NCLEX questions... which is fine... but tell us youre using NCLEX questions!!) doesnt help her students at all and mainly doesnt care if you pass or fail. If i could give her a negative score i would.
Horrible. Just horrible. Doesnt do anything to help you succeed. All over her syllabus it says "it is your responsibility to meet with me for your grades" yet she barely answers emails. She made me hate nursing.
All of her test questions have 2 answers and everyone will get different answers based on their views. She gives her 1st test 2 weeks into the semester when nobody is ready. She offers extra credit when you answer a question correctly in class, but 90% of the time she doesn't ask questions or asks questions nobody knows the answer to. DO NOT TAKE
Really despised this class. Pemberton is the reason why I hate nursing. She is not a good teacher whatsoever and I just dont understand how shes a teacher in general. She doesnt care about any of her students and probably likes when you fail. Good luck if you take her cause youre gonna need it. Do yourself a favor and dont take her
The worst professor I've ever taken in my career. She is disrespectful to her students and extremely rude. She is not accessible outside the classroom even though she tells you to meet with her to go over individual issues. She reads off the slides and doesn't post them. Waste of time, doesn't follow syllabus or grading policy. Not an "easy A"
I'm not surprised at the negative people's comment-the number matches the students who were blatantly cheating during exams. They were asked to keep their eyes on their own papers to no avail. Dr. Pemberton should have taken their papers and given them zero. If you are a student who attends college to learn Dr. Pemberton is excellent!! Enjoyed!
I enjoyed the class and the varied teaching methods used to convey the information. I loved her videos that informed us about the content with a touch of humor. Thank you, Dr. Pemberton
horrible experience please do not take this professor she does not give review sheets for exams does not give power points and goes through power points quickly during class, no specifics on what she is grading us on the exam so be prepared to read every single chapter and teach yourself. Participation is a MUST!
She rushes through lectures and is rude. She has an attitude and she contradicts the information on her slides. The questions on the tests arent based on the lectures.
Do yourself a favor and do NOT TAKE HER. She is a really horrible person and does not care about her students. Does not use canvas so you are not aware of your grades at all. She does not teach and her powerpoints (That are not given out) do not correlate to the tests. AVOID
If you want an easy A, take her. Uses test bank word for word on every exam, even the final! Don't even need to take any notes, or get the textbook. Will need guidance from that for group research paper. Gives extra credit points. Doesn't use canvas. Class is a joke, and you should get on her good side- she will like you then. Show effort!!!
Great professor, cares about you and how your doing in class. Doesn't post power points though, be prepared to write!
Nice lady but for your own sake do not take her. The first exam is within 3 weeks of starting the semester and no one is prepared for it. The test questions are SUPER OPINION-based.
Dr. Pemberton is an excellent professor who is dedicated to helping students achieve their goals and aspirations. It is a shame that there are students in the class who just want a grade and have no interest in learning. I want to thank Dr. Pemberton for the excellent experience of being a student in her class where quality education is key.
Research is a little boring but Professor Pemberton does try to make it fun & interesting. Just pay attention in class, do some reading & participate because she does give points for that. I don't regret taking her at all. She is truly worth taking. Thank you so much Dr. Pemberton I will never forget you!!!
Dr. Pemberton is an amazing human being. Sweetest person youll ever meet, always smiling. I enjoyed being in her class. Participate and youll get extra points. I would highly recommend talking her, makes research so much more interesting.
Doesn't answer emails Is not specific in what she wants for a project Does not post the slides we learn about in class Test questions have nothing to do with notes we take in class
Nice lady, fair class. Impossible to access outside of class. Assignments are not difficult but she doesn't explain them at all so you learn from past students what she expects. Edelman textbook is helpful because her lectures don't do much. She doesn't give power points out so expect your hand to fall off after class. Doesn't use canvas either.
Dr. Pemberton is a very rude professor and does not care about her students at all. She specifically told my class not to email her (as if that's not part of being a professor). Her lectures have nothing to do with test questions so there's no point taking notes. For your sake, DO NOT take this class.
I like this professor because she will give extra points towards the test if you answer her questions during lecture. But she uses the whole time to lecture and doesn't post the powerpoint slides on Canvas. Her tests are very easy if you look at TestBank. She had 1 individual project and 1 group project which were easy.
Oh boy, if this isnt the worst prof ive ever had, then I dont know is Absolutely a mess. A MESS! The entire class has been confused since day 1. I had no idea what my grade was going into the final since she decided to never post them or explain her way of "grading" them Yeah, really easy tests, but everything else is a hot mess DO NOT TAKE!
Professor Pemberton is completely unclear in her grading and in what she expects for assignments. Her tests are not difficult, but she is rude and does not make herself available to students. You will likely do well in her class, but it will cause you a lot of aggravation. I would recommend a different professor if possible.
I don't know why people dislike her so much. Professor Pemberton uses test bank on every exam. There was one group project and one reflection in the end of the class and she gave most people 100's on both. If you want an easy class during a nursing heavy semester, I would take Prof. Pemberton.
She is THE WORST professor I've had during college. She is so unorganized and rude. I've never had a professor that has been flat out rude and disrespectful before and I DO NOT recommend her. She might be easy but she is a horrible horrible teacher. She doesn't care about her students. STAY AWAY!
Honestly, She feels she is never wrong, but she's not bad. People want a mom & not a Prof. Show up do ur work, you will pass. She gives points towards your lowest test grade for participating in class. Exams are test bank & she knows students use it for exams but she just cares about students taking in the information which is on the ATI & nclex.
Dr. Pemberton does not care about any of her students. For this class, she assigns a group project and tells you not to email her. She is so rude to her students as well. She makes you feel dumb for asking questions. She also has favorites in the class. She does not respond to emails. Wouldn't take her again.
I dont know why people are complaining this class was the least stressful for me this semester. Pemberton is not going to baby you but she is fair and you will pass. Shes passionate about research and it shows. She gives extra credit for every test. Research is not easy, do yourself a favor and take her.
The class is easy but I've never met a worse teacher than her at Molloy College. She is very rude and disorganized. She does not care for her students and will not answer back to emails or will answer in a rude way. Everyone was confused on every single assignment that was given. If you participate in class you will get extra points which is good.
Dr. Pemberton is an awesome professor who used varied approaches to teach the principles of research. I loved the jeopardy game and questions raised for extra points. The videos were very helpful to make the point along with her powerpoints. She meets with students after class and separately arranged requested appointments on zoom. The BEST!
Dr. Pemberton masterfully made a complex subject easy and fun to learn. She stressed the importance of research illustrating studies as that on the vaccine for covid19 along with many others. This class prepared me to conduct a study. I enjoyed the class and Dr. Pemberton, an awesome teacher!
Dr. Pemberton, I enjoyed your class and learn through the interesting stories, videos, powerpoint slides and questions for extra points. I appreciated your presentation on cultural diversity and the sharing that took place. It is a shame you had some rude students in the class.
She's truly a horrible professor. Rude, talks over you and never answers emails. She sent 1 email out to the class the last week of class. The class itself isn't terrible and if you read the chapters its fine. No clear instructions for assignments as well. Entire class seemed confused on assignments, due dates and rubrics.
I am convinced Dr Pemberton writes her own reviews on here. Students only take her class because she is an easy A. However, if you're ready to be humiliated and ridiculed in front of the entire class, take her; if not, take someone else. I chose her bc the other research professors were taken.
This class gave me a lot of anxiety. Argument occurred b/n professor and students and professor always believed she was right. You could be a non-problematic student & find youll still get shade thrown at you. Groups were cut off from their presentations & treated harshly. It wasnt an enjoyable or informative class. People presented 20min b/4 final
rudest professor i have ever come across in my life. talks over students, does not try to help students, cuts us off, is on the phone while in class and speaks publicly about private issues, never clear about exams or papers, purposefully spites students. I have never in my life been more lost in a class. do not take her
This was the most problematic class I ever had last semester. Professor was rude to students and dean sides with her. Misled us on an exam saying chapters werent going to be on the exam (and the chapters stayed) Whole class tried to resolve this and she absolutely refused to give us the credit back to us for the chapters kept on there. felt misled
I was lost all semester long, the project was stressful because the outline and whats needed was not straightforward. Felt belittled when asking certain questions about material. Asks us 'do you have any questions' but it seems annoyed when we do have questions. What was going to be tested on was not straightforward. Textbook is absolutely useless.
I know all the reviews say to not take her but honestly I'd advise you to take her. It is an easy A. And if you don't participate then she won't humiliate you, simple. I stayed silent the entire class. She is very unorganized and you will be confused with everything. But again, I'd rather take an A than a few moments of confusion
Grades well, projects are automatic 100 as long as you speak while presenting. She gets frustrated easily when we all were confused about the projects. Test bank
Dr. Pemberton seems like a nice person, but I couldn't stand her as a professor. Absolutely zero review on tests and the questions are tricky. The class was fairly easy but she made things more complicated than they needed to be by not providing clear instructions. Lots of group projects. The one plus is she offers a lot of extra credit.
She's a nice approachable professor very sweet, but be prepared to read from textbook and participate in class for extra credit points towards your next exam. We had a couple group projects that we needed to complete and present to the class but overall pretty good professor.
Didn't buy the book and never had any idea what was happening during lecture cause she bounces all over the place, but it is an easy A. She doesn't really care what you do during class as long as you participate. One of the most boring and stupid classes I ever had to take, but I would recommend taking her since it is a graduation requirement.
AVOID!!! Rude, impatient, nasty, judgmental and gives incorrect information. She can't hear and doesn't try to get "difficult" names. For someone who teaches about cultural competence, "cultural" names are always butchered, from the first day of class, to the last. No care for the students. Tests are 25% what she teaches in class 75% self teaching.
Professor is rude whenever you ask a question. Group projects get 100 as long as you do it. Don't bother taking notes. Tests are copy and pasted from test bank. The projects were very confusing and she got mad whenever you asked a question about it but they are group projects so at least you aren't suffering alone.
If you want to lose all sanity take her. Extremely rude and unhelpful. 3 exams, 1 final, and several group projects. If you do all group projects with effort it's an easy 100 for 20% of ur grade. For exams just go on quizlet and practice those questions each chapter. Questions are from a bank. She makes you stress. DONT TAKE NOTES ITS POINTLESS
A truly awful experience and poor reflection of the school. Unbelievably confusing and inconsistent in terms of project instructions and due dates. Rude to all students, cuts you off, sees all questions as argumentative. Spend more time trying to figure out project guidelines and due dates than on the projects themselves. AVOID.
Professor can be frustrating, but the class is an easy A if you just participate. The projects are confusing, but get 100s if you present. unstuckstudy helped me stay on top of the material when I felt lost.
This Professor is outstanding and will apply varied interactive teaching modalities until everyone gets it.
The best in the field. I enjoyed her classes and gained the knowledge to be innovative in the field of Health Informatics.
Students must read and be prepared for discussions on the principles of research and applications in a critique of research studies.
The worst professor you could possibly have. She must be writing her own reviews because I cant imagine a single person that would think she knows what shes doing. Incorrect syllabus, constantly changing class dates to when she is available. Gives no notice on assignments or exams. Has no clue how to use a computer. AVOID
Dr. Pemberton is the most unprofessional professor I have ever encounter. She does not answer emails, and when she does is not helpful, and rude. Her class doesn't match the syllabus and her canvas is a mess. I have a feeling she only have a job because she has been in Molloy for a while. please try to avoid taking her class I truly wish I did.
