Very hard but a nice lady.
Do not take her. She may be a CPA, but she can't teach for anything. All she says is read the book and you'll understand the material. I would not recommend her to anyone.
this teacher is the worst she can not teach.all she does is sit on the chair and talk about her day with her son in the store for an hour her class was almos empty know i see why her class mid-term avergae was 43.3 the worst of all accounting classes.
firstly, this is a very difficult class by itself. secondly, she actually gives you real life examples-that's great if you plan on taking the cpa. you really need to do the work on your own, but if you do and she sees that you know your material in class she will boost your final grade. i do recommend her if you can read the material b4 the class.

Listen, if you want an easy A-, go take this course with her. She is very nice but she doesn't really teach that well. You need to to go to class because she takes that into account when it comes into the final grading, as well as speaking up in class. The quizes are on-line and are pretty fair and she always let us out early. The final is 100
As long as you do the quizzes online (and do well on them), do the hw's (and she knows you did them), show up and bring your book to class then you should have no problem getting an A

If you can take this class with another professor please do it. she just talks about her personal life and she does NOT teach at all. i passed her class but by doing the reading on my own. avoid this prof.

She demands a lot but is always too busy to do anything. Your time means nothing to her. It is essentially independent study, she doesn't teach anything useful. Nevertheless, attendance is mandatory. Only take her if you are willing to learn the material from the textbook, and the Gleims CPA Review on your own with no help. Nice but stay away.
She rambled on about her daughter for atleast half the class. Her method of teaching consisted of checking hw problems with little or no explanation. That would explain why numerous students failed her course. When confronted, she laughed in our faces. Seriously think twice before registering with this professor!
I don't know what all the fuss is about. she gives you 4 hours to do the quiz. If you read the book, you should have no problem doing well. second of all, she does teach, however, she had a problem with her leg, so it was difficult for her to stand up and write on the board. When students get challenged a little, suddenly they start to freak out.

One of the worse Accnt prof. at Brooklyn Collge. She does not teach at ALL, must teach youself. If you want to learn and get your money worth AVOID this prof.
She is one of the worse prof. in Accnt at Brooklyn Collge. If you want to learn anything do not take her, you will be force to learn on your own. If you want to learn info about her family, then take her.
If the final exam was about her life story, I would have gotten 100. You learn more about her life then accounting. However her quizzes are online and count for 70% of your grade. The quizzes are difficult but they are online so you should do well on them. The final exam is all CPA questions and is near impossible, but it is onlt 15% of your grade.
Avoid if you want to actually learn something in the subject of accounting. Take if you want to sleep and get a good grade. I flunked the final and it didnt seem to matter so whatever. Attendance sure counts.
She tends to take her time on telling her life stories. I can tell you about her conferences, how she gave birth, her allergies, etc. as far as acct, you don't learn much. you have to go to classes, although it felt like a waste of time. anyways, she grades pretty good. just remember, YOU DON'T LEARN MUCH OF ACCT!

I do hope when this professor goes for tenure, she does not get it. I do not know why she is still teaching I guess because she has her doctorate or let me guess, it is her religion the standards for brooklyn college is very low. She failed me. I got a B in accounting 1 and an A in accounting 2. Not my type of Professor although I take most of the blame for failing. Must read book for her class, very demanding as far as homeworks(make sure you do it, she'll call on you), quiz's and attendance goes. If you want to learn accounting, do not take her class. Wish I can type more

most of the time she bragged about how her marriage certificate was stolen, her husband who is an auditor for NYS of Labor, her son who lives with her and eats leftovers whenever they go out, and how she can get people in troube so you dont want to mess with her. You dont learn anything except for taichi and life stories of casino gamblers.
Don't take this class if you don't have a CPA license already. You are basically left to fend for yourself on this online class. "Teaches" text out of order, no help, emailed 6 times with no response to any questions and not even a midterm eval which is mandatory by the school. Don't bother to take this class with her.

Dear professor Kass, as a professor you should do some teaching in the classroom, and since it is an accounting class then please teach us some accounting, your mere presence in the classroom is not sufficient enough!
Please do not take this professor. She does not teach you anything and you will regret it when it comes to the CPA exam. you have to do everything on your own! Why doesn't she put up an Income statement and analyze it for us...instead, 'go read the book, do HW" and then expect to understand everything. NO!

This professor is worse at Brooklyn College.She doesn't know accounting but knows taishi. Talks entire class about her family about CPA exam in general but she is not preparing students for CPA . Good quality colleges need to get rid of such a prof. She is the whole of shame in Brooklyn College.
This is the WORST PROFESSOR EVER i had in BC.No teaching, tests are based on gleims books,and material is never covered.She's grading based on whether she likes you or not,profiling big time.The attendance is mandatory but useless.Very few people take her class(only b/c they're forced to).Not an easy A,and if you need your CPA,DO NOT TAKE HER!!!
Went to an Accnt'ing panel and one of the speakers thanked Kass for everything she taught him. I wonder what alternate universe he's from b/c the only things I learned from this lady is that her daughter is a doctor and her son is lazy. Stay away!
Hahaha I came here to say the exact same thing as the person below! This woman is unbelievable! I learned nothing in her class. I don't know why she would get upset when half the class left after every break. I guess she really wanted us to learn about her family because they're gonna add it as one of the sections on the CPA!
Please do not take this constructive criticism lightly. Everythin said below is definitely true. If you want to pass Acct. 5, DO NOT! Take this professor. She's lazy and barely does any work. The only instruction you receive is directly from the book.
Take her if you want to pass intermediate Accounting. Unlike most professors she lets you earn the grade instead just swapping you with CPA simulation. Give some respect, come to classes on time and show some attempt in HW. If you want your attitude adjusted go to Testa and be lucky to get 'incomplete'.
Take the previous reviews with a grain of salt. Go to class, do the homework, participate. If you have a question, ask. People who call her lazy are ridiculous. She's always available for one-on-one and she tells you exactly how to do well in the class. Accounting isn't easy--don't expect her class to be. If you put in the effort, so will she.
She talks waaay too much and unfortunately it's not about accounting. She has the potential of being a great professor though. She's very helpful and easy to talk to. Her exams are tough (old CPA ques.) but you can pass them if you study the old exams.
really nerve racking to wait for final grade, takes forever. shes nice but talks a lot about her own experiences as an accountant and accounting in general, its interesing but none of it is directly connected with what you are learning. memorize/study old cpa questions for test & do hw well since hw is worth more than exams
She is very nice. Easy grader. Just attend class do the home work and do good on her mid-terms. There are all online and she gives 4hrs to complete.

Lazy, unhelpful professor which talks about her personal life instead of the class subject. This is a regular class but she makes you do everything online through awful McGraw-Hill Connect system. This system is faulty with a lot of bugs which prevents you from obtaining correct results. You will not learn anything in this class. Just use Google ;)
Great Professor
the course consists of 70% homework and 30% final exam. the homeworks are tough but it is online, so you can get help from other sources. there is no time limit for any homework, you have time till the end of the semester. the final exam consists most of multipe choices. it is easy to get an A in this course.

About 8 hw's and a final (30% of grade). All online. She put assignments up very sporadically. Went like a month without any assignments then all of a sudden they are all there. Not too hard though.
Professor Shraibman does not teach nor provide guidance through the material. The entire class was spent staring at the projector trying to navigate and solve Connect Accting problems. No help or explanation of complicated accounting topics . She is DISengaging and only cares to talk about her personal life and experiences.

I loved her class and I got an A. and believe me, She does teach! She goes over the problems in class and this is how I learned. she will help you whenever you ask for it. I did all my homeworks on time and they are 70% all online. The final is 30% of the grade. what else do you want???
This was an online class that consisted of group discussions on blackboard and 3 papers(two 4 page papers & 10 page term paper). No tests or real homework. But the professor gives no feedback on how your doing. She doesn't even tell you a grade on your papers. And I still have not received a grade for the class. Z grade. Horrible lazy professor!!!!

The Professor is so horrible, I am trying to submit her review for the third time. She messed up my grades, I took her online , elective class. I spent so much time and money for nothing. She didn't review our work at blackboard until the end of semester. The grade was delayed for a month. stay away from her. She receiving salary for nothing
Professor Kass is a pretty easy going professor. Assigns homeworks on connect and expects you to read the textbook and come to class having an idea of what she will go over. Read the the book, do the homeworks, and you should get an easy A.
She is strange. Gives a challenging homework, never goes over the questions students send her regarding accounting topics or homework. Horrible with putting assignments. Monday she posts a message about the final and week and a half later still not put on Connect.
Not entire sure how a professor can get away with being so irresponsible. Online class- and not a single comment from her all semester. Does not respond to emails. We had no final exam- and not sure if it was intentional or she dropped the ball. Grades were due yesterday, and still no grade. She should be ashamed of herself.

For the most part a pretty simple class. 8 chapter homework assignments (can be lengthy and you get 2-3 attempts at each one) and it's worth 70% of your grade! Not too bad in my opinion. 30% for 1 final which is majority of multiple choice about 30 questions.
The worse prof. in Brooklyn College. I didn't learn anything during the semester. She completely lost my interest in Accounting. She spends the whole class talking about non-related to class issues, in the last few minutes she starts doing some problems in connect with class. If you really wanna learn, don't take her class ever.
I liked this audit class. Professor Kass is intelligent and knowledgeable teacher. During the course, we used very useful program which could prepare us for CPA exam. Also there were 3 papers(because it's intensive writing course), 4 exams (online), and we prepared some interesting news for the classes. Professor gave good examples during the class
Professor Kaas encourages a student led approach. While you won't have to attend each class, the assignments will be posted. It is up to you to plan your time accordingly and to get your work done. There is a lot of work and it takes time. However, there is unlimited time to get it done if you plan accordingly. There is no midterm, only a final.
Prof. Kass is very knowledgeable and helpful. She helped us with homeworks when we asked. No midterm, only cumulative final. Would take again.
The worst professor ever. She explains nothing. Just be prepared to study on your own. Her lecture on a new material lasts 15 minutes and later she just gives you exercises to do. Like no examples before, no explaining, nothing. 5 group projects, lots of homework that will take you forever.

Class: ACCT2001. If you read the textbook 2-3 times, you will do well on the hw. There is a group project which is not easy and a final. She is not a good professor since she does not teach but at least she gives connect which is better than some other professors which only gives a midterm and final and like no hw. Take her if you must.

In Audit there was a project that I thought was challenging, but I learned a lot. There were exams and home works. I don't understand the negative reviews. I think she is excellent and smart. She brings real-world experiences and lessons to the classroom. You have to work and get connect like every other class. I personally think she is great!
Horrible professor who don't teach but you can learn a lot from her class if you are a self learner. She gives homework and additional practice problems and learn smart to help you better learn the material and to study for the final. By doing learn smart, it can help you get a better grade on the homework without spending as much time on it.
Im not sure what Professor Kass has bad reviews. Shes a wonderful lady, super caring and overall a gem. She genuinely wants you to pass and cares about your well-being. Id definitely say shes one of my favorite Professors and Im in my fourth year of college. Definitely take!
Term project worth 30% of the grade. Members will not contribute and you will need to complete the project by yourself or other members. Too much h.w. No lectures only life experiences. Terrible prof. considering this course is worth 4 credits. Stay away from this prof. She is a tough grader and she will not help.
Absolutely terrible professor. Had one lecture at the beginning of the winter semester and that is the last we heard from her. Good luck getting in touch with her because you won't. One good thing I can say is that the midterm was 10% and the final was 20%. The hw on connect was 70% but no lectures were provided so youre completely on your own here

I did not like this class at all. I learned nothing about auditing. Online class and we met on zoom once a week. Prof. takes forever to answer emails. There's a group project divided into 5 parts; excel file, ppt, and 3 papers, on top of weekly hw and midterm and final (MC). start the assignments ASAP bc they are VERY time consuming
I didn't walk out with what i expected to learn but I did learn life skills.
Totally incompetent. You can tell from the way she misspells every announcement. Even her bio on LinkedIn has grammatical errors. Which is really funny, but not so much when your grade depends on a person like this. For instance, it takes her about two months to grade an assignment. By the time you get feedback you've already submitted everything.

She is the most incompetent person I've ever seen. Her lectures are of 30 mins trying to get the projector to work, 30 minutes talking about Trump and/or her life, and maybe 15 minutes of real accounting problems. She also lacks a concept of time because she goes overtime by ten minutes every session. Not to mention disrespecting her students.
Horrendous professor, literally a teacher who doesn't teach, bad at communication with her students, bad at technology, loves wasting time in class, loves talking about Trump but has never ever given a lecture. Avoid her, save yourself.
The worst of the worst. 80% of the semester was about Trump. 10% was about our lives and the other 10% is asking us if we had any recent transactions and if we know what a debit or credit is. I have never felt the need to review a professor before, but she is in a different category. It comes down to the fact she does not want to put forth the effort to teach, especially the complicated concepts. She would get questions wrong, waste half of the lecture times with news and other nonsense. Every bad rating on here is correct. Sad.
Tough class with an unforgiving professor. Group projects and excessive homework make it a major time commitment. But unstuck AI helped me stay on top of things.
Because of the chokehold she has on the accounting department, how many accounting classes she does for the 150 program, and how bad she is. I had to switch majors because I'd rather not pursue accounting further than have to take another class with this woman. For those who absolutely need to, Ephesians 6:10-12.
Honestly, the worst professor I've ever had.
The course was SPS BUS 306. Overall, the instructor was very disappointing. 1. was no grading provided until the middle of the semester. 2. don't give feedback at all. Deadlines in the Brightspace did not match those outlined in the curriculum. The grading criteria were unclear, and there was no review after quizzes.
Get ready to teach yourself, because she doesn't teach AT ALL, she doesn't make a proper lesson to teach during class, no PowerPoint, no nothing. Half of the time talks about something related to the material and does problems and the other half she talks about how she dislikes Trump. You're basically expected to read the chapters on your own time.
Avoid her. This class is all connected. I thought it would be easier, but unlike other professors, she only gave me one chance to "check my work", which made the course harder. glad I paid $1500 for a summer class for her not to teach a single thing. Whole class is connect homework. She didn't even know the class started on 5/27 and sent the wrong registration for homework. Glad she's getting paid to not even teach. Biggest waste of money.
Spends whole class talking about non class material and how much she hates trump. First day of class, told all the new students about how terrible the school was and how she wants to get out. All the work is online and she doesn't teach anything.
She'd ask about a transaction we did, turning it into a long journal entry that took half the class. She'd rant about hating Trump, only using cash, and put students on the spot if we didn't get the material. Her handwriting's awful, tech skills worse, and for the group project—find partners fast, you're on your own. Please don't take her!!
I am currently taking her class and it's a mess. All the reviews here are correct. Talks about trump for 45 minutes and doesn't do much after. Almost every student failed the midterm and the same complaint was the mock was nothing like the midterm at all even though she said it would be similar. You have to teach yourself 100%. Do not recommend.
The mock practice midterms never matched the midterms. Everyday for half of class she would go off topic on thats things that vaguely relate to accounting. 9 students went to complain after the first midterm and nothing changed. She never values anything the students say that criticize her. Please don't waste your time drop her class.
