He is a very good professor...his classes aren't so difficult because of the way he teaches and the assignments he gives.
Uses all of the class time. Good teaching style. Quizzes, midterm, and the final are all fair. Grading system is also very well organized and explained thoroughly. The web page he offers is very helpful.
good afternoon. Lets do some labs around the lecture hall. Dont miss class he will fail you. Easy class if you attend
fritz is hilarious and one the nicest teachers. its an easy class to ace but attendence is mandatory. lecture can be boring so bring other homework to do.
Really funny guy. Attendance is mandatory and could have a possible quiz but just show up and dont have to pay attention. His notes are online but read them before the class. bring something else to read in class like a magazine and you will be fine.
very good
SUCH a funny guy, very nice, class is easy if you show up... he's a great guy. Arnold Schwarzenegger's twin, as well. ;)
Presents the material well, if you want to pay attention, which is optional. Attendence is not sadly. Read his online notes and you'll ace the class. Don't let the first two weeks scare you, hes a really funny guy.
Wenisch will get pissed if you don't wish him good morning. Invented his own textbook for the class online, but thats ok cause there couldn't possibly be a real one on the material. Thoroughly explains how weird Mormons are.
I took a class with Fritz my first semester. Blew it off, and got an F. (attendence is key) I took another class of his the next semester and he was really cool about it, happy that i was still trying, etc. hes all about effort and honesty. Go Fritz
Good afternoon. There is a chance of a quiz at the very beginning of every class. Do not be late!

Extremely nice man & a good teacher. Strict on attendance. But he's very helpful and understanding. Read notes and follow along in class and you'll do fine. It's interesting material.
Fritz is fair, but has a strict attendance policy. It's alright though because his classes are worth going to, he's hilarious.
FRITZ IS THE BEST TEACHER EVER. HES SO NICE AND HISTERICAL. LECTURES CAN GET A LITTLE BORING BUT I LOVED GOING TO THIS CLASS. I URGE YOU TO TAKE THIS CLASS.
Class is pretty boring and attendance is key, but he's a nice guy and the class is pretty easy and you don't have to but a text book.
He is a crazy teacher who you cant really understand a word he is saying, lectures are real boring and attendence is KEY. He is not helpful with questions but if he likes you youll be fine
Took class a couple years ago, extremely boring material and you have to go to every class, but he's nice and tries to be funny ("Goood Afternooon"). Random quizes based on dice rolls but the tests are easy and as long as you study for the tests and keep up with the material you should get at least a B+/A-
I totally forgot about the Good Afternoon until I read the other reviews! I had him a few years ago and it was a tough class, but he was a cool guy. Attendance if a must.
I attended EVERY class. I studied a decent amount. I'm not stupid, I got all As this semester, except I failed this class by 1 point because the grades are based only on the midterm and final. Tough material.

he is the craziest individual i have ever met! but if you get philosophy, this class isn't that hard. and he's freakin' histerical!
guys the man. this is the easiest class if u put in effort. i mean he shows u the questions for the exams and quizs before word for word
oh so easy and he's wicked funny...the exam questions are given to you but you have to attend almost every class or he'll know
Funniest Professor at URI! Great teacher and not hard as long as you prepare for the tests and go to class. I learned a ton in this class!
Worst teacher ever. You have to go to class but you don't learn anyhing at all. All of the notes are posted online which is great but in class he re-writes them on an overhead. If you take this class GO and bring your laptop and watch a movie with the subscripts, you won't miss anything and you can finish 1 movie per week usually!
Boring lectures, takes attendance, exams based on entirely memorization. yawn.
You will learn things from him, but only if you can stand boring lectures. He's lenient on classroom etiquette however; he doesn't even care if you sleep in his class, and allows students to put him off on amusing tangents. Basically all I had to do to get a good grade was: Get online notes, read them, show up, ace quiz, repeat.
very boring lecture, you can fall asleep and be fine. he posts his lectures on webct, if u memorize the answers you'll do fine. he is obsessive with attendance
This guy was AWESOME. He was absolutely crazy and has the greatest accent ever. He can be kinda boring but I learned a ton in this class. I get the feeling that the people who didn't take down notes did pretty poorly on his pop quizes hence the bad reviews.
Really funny and very nice. Lectures are really boring, but his attitude is great.
He takes attendance EVERYDAY and it counts so go to class!!! Class can be boring at times. Class is extremely easy though cuz he gives you the quiz/exam questions beforehand and the answers too. Dont really need to take the notes cuz he posts everything online.
He's really hard to understand. You have to go to class. The tests are sort of hard, but he posts all of his notes and questions online. Daily quizzes are determined by rolling dice at the beginning of class. Kind of boring, but you can do other things in class as long as you're there.
easy A. everything is posted online, but attendance is a must. lecture can be boring, but a great time to do other homework, good teacher over all and you do learn a lot.
this class is an A if you put some effort into it. be prepared for possible daily quizzes. notes and questions to the exams are posted online. write and memorize the answers...youll get a gpa boost. go to class and bring something to do...it gets boring
Attendance is a must.Checks it everyday. No book,no homework.Quizzes somedays, only 3 exams.Great letters class.Really funny old guy from austria or somewhere.Puts all notes online after class.Exams are from study questions, reallly easy!Take this
Really cool and funny guy. He really tries to make the class fun with his personality. His course is pretty easy as long as you study the questions he gives you. all you have to do and you'll get an A. It's not very personable so just do the studying.
Great professor. Passionate about religion. Extremely soft-spoken (with accent) so sit up front. Obssessed with attendance. Do the studying -easy A.
Amazing!
Who doesn't love this man? Classes do get boring after a while tho. It's like babysitting your grandfather, you love to see him, but after he babbles on for an hour or so your ready to go home. Look around the room and see if you can find somebody listening to him after 5 mins of class has gone by. But he is a really nice guy and an easy A.
Cutest man alive. Crazy about attendance. Everything is online so you really don't have to do anything at all in class, just show up. He makes all 200+ kids sign the attendance sheet. hahaha definitely a funny little man. Loves cardigans.
Tricky Fritz is an awesome, awesome professor. He presents the material really well and is very objective with his policies. Just show up to class -- with something to keep you busy -- and study the questions he puts on line and there's no reason why you shouldn't get an A. Fritz is an awesome professor!
Fritz is a great teacher who trys to keep you awake with his corney jokes. Wicked cute accent, and will make you sign the attendence sheet. Midterm is easy,8?'s and they are from the list he posts online. Non****final, also 8?'s from the online list!! Highly recommended for an A for a Letters/diversity credit!
This is the worst class ever. It is INSANELY boring and every class is mandatory! He is crazy! He is irritating! However, it's an easy A...if you can make it.
He means well. Everything you need to know is online. Class is mandatory but extremely!! boring. Bring something to entertain yourself and you;ll survive. Easy A
This professor is nice and is entertaining at times. However, his class is extremely boring because the textbook is online and there really is no need to pay attention. The only thing is attendance is checked always so you have to come to class.
2 years later and I still miss that little man. Hilarious, projects all of the notes, tests are straight forward and if you pay attention to his fantastic accent you might learn something (make sure you go to the class, tricky fritz is known to take attendance at the end of class, too)
Tricky Fritz is a good guy. Yeah his class may be boring a lot of the time but it's pretty hard to make religion exciting to students at a public college, he tries. Has pop quizzes a lot so you have to be prepared all the time which was the worst part but definitely manageable, pretty good GPA booster
I loved Tricky Fritz- He is boring yes but hilarious! He should be a Kindergarten teacher, with his very corny jokes. Just read the study questions online, and you will do fine with him!
Even though I find him entertaining, the class drags and I lost interest pretty quickly. Bring other work to do. If attendance wasn't mandatory, I would have never been there. Everything is online, the notes and the questions you need to know for the exams. Just type up the answers to the questions after every class and you'll be golden.
He is a really good prof. So funny and super helpful if you need it.
GREAT for GPA You can get an A in this class. ALL memorization, make up the questions and answers that are online into flashcards. It takes some time but if you do them like homework you only have to study for the exam. OR Bring flashcards into the class and do them. Definitely bring other work :) Memorize what he puts online and you will be golden
Fritz is the greatest teacher ever! When he tells you that his nickname is "Tricky Fritz" he isn't lying. To do well all you have to do is go to class and study a little before tests. This class is an easy A.
An easy A. Reads out of the book, and there is absolutely no reason to attend class for any reason but the attendance check. Since class is mandatory, bring other work to do. Tests and quizzes are composed of the study questions he gives you. No book is needed(only $6 anyway), everything is found online.
It's an easy class...until you become distracted. If you don't pay attention, like myself, follow the notes, keep up with the posted questions online and you should do fine. He can be funny sometimes, but not always. Be prepared to have something else to do.
Three words: USE THE WEBSITE! Everything he covers in class is on the website. If it weren't for his sign-in sheet, most people would never go to class. Just be sure to do the study questions and you should do fine.
okay so this class is the easiest A ever but it is so incredibly boring... i honestly dont know how i made it through the semester. The material is somewhat interesting but the class is so painfully boring.
Awesome professor. With his heavy German accent he could be a good James Bond villian. read the book and keep up with the study questions he posts online and you should be fine
This class probably one of the most boring classes I have ever taken. Take notes/read the book and answer the questions on is website before quizzes and you'll be good. You have quizzes a lot. He rolls a dice at the beginning and if its 7 or 11 there's a quiz. I basically just sat in class, took notes, and played on my phone all semester.
He is so funny! Easy A.
This man is a legend. Best professor of all time. Love the antics, love the guy. THE BEST
Easy A class if you're looking for an elective. Atendance is mandatory and class can be very boring, but that's the price you pay. He can be quite funny at times, but you quickly grow tired of him. Bring work for other classes- the material he covers is very easy and he covers it at a slow pace. Questions come directly from his study questions.
This class is perfect for an easy letters course requirement. He is so nice and can be funny at times too! The material may be boring but the class requires barely any work besides reading to study for his quizzes.
i just love Prof. Weisch. He is so kind, dedicated, genuine and most of all interesting and intelligent. RLS 126 has made a difference in my life all because of prof." Fritz"!!! I wish URI had more dedicated professors like prof. Wenisch.
Professor Wenisch is an excellent professor. He gives students every opportunity to get a good grade. He is extremely helpful and fair.I learned a lot in his class. I highly recommend him. He is a very interesting and kind man who truely knows his stuff !!!
I love taking his RLS111 with professor Wenisch. Great professor with a very kind heart, also very intelligent
You have to study to pass this class. Dont bother buying the book as long as you attend class. He's a pretty cool guy, but if you dont memorize word for word each answer for the quiz youll probably get it wrong. The quizzes are often unfair. One half of the class will get a much easier question than the other half. Dont go into the test unprepared!
Class is average. Many quizzes through semester and a midterm and final. Attendance is mandatory and he's strict about electronics in class. Must study in order to pass. He expects every word mentioned in class to be on your paper for the quiz. No multiple choice either. His accent is also really strong so its hard to get used to.
Reasonable class with reasonable amount of work and studying. He gives study guide questions which are almost exactly like his quiz and exam questions. You would have 6 quizzes and 2 exams. The final is worth 50%! So don't screw up on it! Study the study guide questions and be careful because exams only have 6-8 questions.
Attendance is mandatory. Very old fashioned and hates technology. Material is fairly easy. Can find all study questions on quizlet. Multiple quizzes and two tests worth majority of your grade. Must study to pass as he expects his exact words as a response on the test.
He is a wonderful teacher, really helped me to enhance my learning. He was the cutest man I have met because he was funny in his own way, no one gives him enough credit.
Prf. Fritz is one of the best professors I have ever had, very animated and entertaining to watch and listen to. his classes consist of stories rather then lectures which are much easier to remember and very helpful. there is only one paper, he gives you all the exam questions prier, and you have a possibility of 10 extra points added to your grade
He's really nice and cute, but this class is hard. I got 100's on all 4 quizzes and a 98 on the first exam and I just saw on Ecampus that I got a C in the class. Unsure of final exam grade but the final is worth 50% of the overall grade. The final exam covered 150pgs of material and there were only 8 questions (2 mult. choice) which is ridiculous
This class is AWFUL. His grading system makes it incredibly hard to get an A, even if you get 100s on all the quizzes as I did. I got one multiple choice wrong on the midterm and got an 80. I am a straight A student and had perfect attendance and got a B in the course. If you do take this class do not buy the book, just use quizlet.
So. Boring. Attendance is absolutely mandatory but we usually used his class to get other homework done. He's very nice but he mumbles and rambles and everything you really need to know is online. Would not take another class with him.
Fritz is the best! This was the best class I have taken so far at URI, and I'm a sophomore. He is so sweet. Attendance is mandatory but its not bad. He gives you all the test and quiz questions, you just have to memorize. Even above and below just didn't put effort in that why they rated him poor. He is very knowledgable and all around a great guy!
He has mandatory attendance, and sitting through his class is one of the most painful experiences. He expects you memorize over 100 terms and he will pick 8 of them for the exam. There are two exams, the midterm is 30% the final is 50% and 4 quizzes that are one question each worth20%. I recommend you don't take this course for a gen ed.
His lecture can drag on, but he tries to make it funny and engaging (not usually the case). His quizzes are one question and exams are worth a majority of the grade. His final is a 8 questions (4 multiple choice, 4 short answer) and worth 50% of your grade. If you take the class, copy his slides word for word and study that and you'll do fine.
Dr. Fritz. He comes off strong first lecture its all an act to shake loose those who aren't serious! He focused not only on each philosophers ideas but who they actually were as people. I took every class he taught and before I graduated I thanked him for his classes and guess what? He bowed to me and thanked me for my kind words..a class act!
Miss 8 classes and you'll fail, hard to understand. Final is worth 50%, first and only test is worth 30%, quizzes are worth 20%. 2 points deducted from final grade for each absence. Buy the textbook even though he is the author. Teach directly from textbook so no need for notes just highlight what he puts on the board in the textbook.
This class is not easy at all. Not many quizzes but still have to read a lot and the final will kill you for sure.
A little hard to understand due to his accent, there is a lot of reading for this course & he gives a list of questions to answer to help prepare yourself for the quizzes and exams. If you answer the questions but don't exactly follow along in class you can still pass with a good grade. He drops the lowest grade for quizzes only if don't miss class
He is an amazing professor and if you actually listen you will learn lots from him! His classes can get boring, but just show up, listen to his lectures and look at the study questions he gives you. If you know those you pass this class with flying colors. There is no homework and just 4 quizzes which are 1-2 questions and a midterm and final exam
This class was so boring and difficult!!! there's 4 quizzes, 1 midterm and a final. the final is worth 50% of your grade, if you fail the final, you fail the class, and the midterm is worth 30%. His accent is difficult to understand and there is so much reading to do. i regret taking this class and would never take any of his classes again.
IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN EASY GEN ED THIS 100% NOT THE CLASS TO TAKE! i AM WARNING YOU AND I HOPE YOU TAKE THIS MESSAGE INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN CHOOSING A CLASS. THERE IS SO MUCH READING AND THE FINAL IS SO HARD BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO STUDY THE ANSWERS TO OVER 150 QUESTIONS. HE DOESN'T CARE IF YOU HAVE OTHER FINALS TO STUDY FOR. NEVER TAKING AGAIN.
In-class notes are copy and pasted straight from the text book (that HE wrote), don't think you'll get away with not reviewing- trust me. Attendance is mandatory, for every unexcused absence 2 points is deducted from your final grade.
Overall grade was 94% and never missed a class. UNTIL the final which was 40% of grade and unfortunately I got a 62% - which I still don't understand. The prof doesn't communicate via Sakai system - no grades posted throughout semester. His accent is very thick and use of language is tough. Great topic but SHOT my GPA down 30 basis points
I had a 87 going into final and failed it to get a C- in the class. Class was easy however very boring and time consuming to only get a C-. If asked to take a class with him again id have to pass.
Really nice guy. All the quizzes and test questions are from his study guide online. If you do those questions you can sit on your phone every class and still get an A. Each quiz only contains one question and the exam contains 7-8, so make sure you understand each one Do not miss class without an excuse; you lose two points off your final grade.
He is the cutest man ever. He is really excited about what he is talking about. He gives you all the answers ahead of time- but only gives one question of about 20 that you study for on quizzes. The final is worth 45% of your grade, the midterm is worth about 25% and the one question quizzes are the rest. Takes attendance daily. Easy if you try!
If you are looking for an easy Gen Ed to take, especially people who have taken religion classes before, do NOT take this class. His quizzes are one question long, and exams are six to eight questions long. This would not be an issue if he did not give you 40 questions that could possibly be on the exam. Do not take this class, you'll thank me.
The actual worst prof I have experienced. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Painfully boring to sit through. Material could be interesting. If you can sit through this class without having a nervous breakdown out of pure boredom, you deserve a prize. Grades extremely unreasonably.
The lectures are crazzyyy boring but it's a perfect time to do other homework. If you study the questions he gives you then you're completely fine. It's nice how you know the questions on the quizzes and final in advance. As long as you try, you will get an A
Professor W is an inspiration! His enthusiasm for his topic is infectious and his rigorous outlines with clear situational guidance help to unravel the at times complicated and lengthy ethical quandaries. I would take any of his classes! He genuinely cares about his educative obligations and also the students well-being. Such a charming man. A+++
Awesome sooo easy he gives you the questions that will be on exams!
Took this class a few years ago. Really enjoyed the class, learned a lot, but also put a lot of work into in. It is not an easy A, but if you do all the work and are prepared an A is achievable. He gives you a list of possible questions for all his exams. Make sure you know the answers. Create study groups. Would definitely take him again.
