I took this class online...I think it is kinda easy....so far i got better scores on the test then I would with a regular class. If you get confused you have to ask people on the disscution bored. and you go to the Henderson Campus to take 2 test...Midterm and Final
if you do not want to take a course online, do not take this teacher... she uses the internet for all homework because she doesn't know how to grade papers herself.

Terrible teacher. We would get through a whole problem and someone would point out that it is wrong. We would all be confused. This happened every class. Her homework and quizzes were online when it wasn't and online class. Unfair!
I'm in Math 95 and it's easier to understand than Dr. Afiat's Math 93. She was not helpful with my requests and it seemed as if she had a hard time running an online class. I suggest Matovina.

She really didnt do a good job at claifying things. If we didnt understand something just asked us if we had taken the math prior to 96. If you can avoid her for 96 and study on your and test. You will save money and time.

Please pick a different teacher for any Math class. She is the worst teacher I've had at CCSN. She doesnt respond to your emails in a timely manner, and when she answers she talks down to you and makes you feel dumb and acts like you should already know the material. Hello, thats why Im taking the class to learn! The tutors & book is more helpful
There is a language barrier which makes it difficult to understand her. There is no sense of concern for her students which makes her appear selfish and inconsiderate. She doesn't use a textbook which you don't find out about until the first day (after you've already purchased the book). I would think twice before taking this professor.
Has you take Midterm and Final at testing center (online course) which is fine, but it is ONLY available at the Henderson campus?!? That's a 37 mile drive each way for me. Totally unacceptable!
I absolutly agree with what everyone else has said- this teacher is awful. I took math 93 online, and there was no textbook. All the material is online, if you want it for reference you have to print everything. Makes it extremely hard taking a timed online test. I was 8mo pregant she made me jump through hoops to be in the class and take tests.
This professor is very unhelpful, and very short tempered. She will reply in her own time to any questions from the students. I know it's an online class, but DON'T DO IT! No text book, only her "notes" to get you through the class, which wasn't helpful when I was taking my next Math class.
She is caring & Knows her materials. She is not an easy teacher but she expect you to learn the materials and she helps you to learn it. If you are a good student, then you should take her class.
I had her for the four week online summer course, and I think it was great. Although we did not use the book for this course (which I believe she helped edit) her notes were clear and helped with doing the actual problems. You do have to learn the material because tow tests are in person at the testing center. The drive is the only problem with it.
Summer four week session-I thought her class was very easy. no textbook, but I had no problem with her notes. The only problem was having to drive to Henderson for the two tests. Also, you must learn the material so you can take these tests. Which is a godd thing...
If you are looking for a good teacher, then you should take her class. She knows her materials and she is very caring.
She is helpful, explaines well, and very understanding. She uses MyMathLab for homework and quizzes and you realy learn math with this program. If you want to learn and willing to do the work, then take her class.

Her class was hard. At the beginning of the term she had said that because we have the math online we did not need our book, but then she always made a reference to the book in almost all of the classes.
I thought she was a decent teacher. She used an online math tutoring system that allowed you endless attempts to get a 90% or better on your homework, you had two chances to complete every quiz, and half of her tests were multiple choice. If you put in an effort to actually learn and do the homework, you'll be fine. I got a solid B in her class.

I took math 93 online during the summer. This proffessor is the worse. Please do not take this online class with her unless you a math genues and dont care of waisting money. This class is not easy. Her class rules are unfair, if you failled a chapter test you would not be able to continuo in her class. The worse.
Yes, the previous posting is right. This class and this teacher is a big scam. Just to get acces to her online class you have to buy a E-book wich is just an acces code. This cost about $90.00 and it is nonrefundable and you cannot resale it. Fardermore, after you get this this code, then you find out that if you fail an Exam you wolud get an F

This teacher is THE WORST teacher I've ever had. I had to drop her class after SHE made a mistake and did not post a link to a test. She gave us ONE DAY to go online and take this test and because I missed it, she told me I deserved to fail. Lets all send CSN Administration a message by no one inrolling in her classes. She never got back to me. I left messages and she never phoned me back. I missed one test and she wouldn't let me redo the test so I had to withdraw from the class because she was going to fail me. Horrible teacher.

I think she's a really good teacher and when you're not clear she tries to explain best she can. Her class is tough and time and commitment is necessary to succeed. HARD CLASS, but I think it was worth it.
She uses her own textbook she wrote (ebook)which is messed up. She teaches the basics only in the lessons then the quiz is more advanced, which isn't covered without doing all the practice problems.

Very good teacher
The material isn't too hard but the online book she uses (and wrote) is not very easy to use and there are HUNDREDS of problems to do per chapter and then a quiz. I spent several hours per day doing easy problems. Such a waste of time.I would avoid her at all costs.She is very difficult to understand and will do nothing to help you when you need it
I took her online class and I failed. I did well at the start because the problems were easy. She gives you tooo many problems and then when you take the test it's like tottally different problems. She sends too many emails and changes her mind about the syallabus. All together I was very upset I failed her class.
This is a decent class if you already have a good grasp of Mathematics. If you are looking for someone to teach it to you,this is not the class for you. This is for people who can figure it out by themselves with no assistance from your instructor.
Do not take this class!!! This person should NOT be teaching. The answers in her book are wrong, correct answers on the quiz and tests are marked wrong because HER answers are wrong. It amazes me that someone who does not speak English wrote the textbook. STAY AWAY!!
Very Unclear, Kept changing her mind about the syllabus, and the online book, that she wrote was unclear and did not cover everything and did not explain everything that were on the quizzes and tests. Had to buy a "access code" to use her book that cost money and we could not resale or reuse which is BS. Try not to get this professor.
wow she was very rude, not helpful, and i think it was a waste of money, the book which is over priced was wrong, and the class since you couldnt even get help from her, all she would says is "look at the syllabus" which didnt help eihter. I would stay away from her class, I will never take any of her class again!!
I have taken online classes for 3 semesters and this one by far was the worst.The Prof is extremely RUDE,NOT WILLING TO HELP,and lets not take about the book that has more errors than a preschooler doing geometry.This class will not help anyone who doesn't already have a great view on math, and if you do by the end of the class you will be confused
I just want to say that I got a lot from this . This was my first online math class and I feel like it was very helpful and the directions were straight and to the point. Every time I had a problem or a question she would respond quickly Every time.
This class was very good, I haven't taken a math class in quite some time. I do find it interesting that those that are complaining couldn't follow simple instructions on how to use an email bombarding many of us with pointless whining, or they simply did not want to follow the intructions out of defiance, again showing the maturity level of those
You know what. Most of the people complaining about her online math class just flat out didn't read the class guidelines. She say checking mail was important... How do you students expect to take the midterm when you didnt even do 2 of the chapter tests? Then getting mad at her because she didnt give out handouts to people who dropped the ball. SMH
The whole class was horrible, the teacher is really rude. The book was written by her, and filled with so many mistakes that our inbox was full nearly the entire class. Its esp hard when the professor threatens to kick you out if you even question an answer in the book, and the tests are filled with mistakes. Someone should do something about her!!
This was the worse online class I have taken. She got mad because I corrected her on one of the answers she had wrong on the book.There was a lot of mistakes in the book! She was rude.I didn't learn anything from the lessons I had to get a tutor.
She doesn't explain everything clearly. I took this class online and she had 2 seperate folders that tested on the same thing and 1 was hidden from my acct. when I advised her of this she wasnt willing to help at all after I had been doing all the work and completed half the class. I switched from credit to audit

Worst teacher ever!! Used an online "book" she chose, not the book the bookstore sold me. The book and the teacher were a joke! Poor grammar, cannot spell and will not help if you email her for more information. Not helpful, by FAR the worst professor I have EVER had!

I have had this professor for several different courses. The only thing that I can say I really dislike is the fact that what is on her tests(worth most of your grade) are always more difficult than what she went over in class or for homework. She does try to help you, but there are times when you can sense that she is getting frustrated.

Class is easy if you can follow directions. Only came across 1 problem that was truly wrong. I emailed her and was given credit. English is not her first language so her grammar is a bit off. If you ask a silly question, she will remind you to look in the syllabus. Like I said, if you can read directions and focus, this class is sooo easy.
She is very prompt with answering your emails. Always send reminder to stay with the course. The book is really helpful and course is designed in a way that following it is very easy. If you know how to follow direction, you won't have any problem learning and passing this course.

Honestly, I did not learn as much as I should have. This person even made us take a midterm online while she went out on a vacation. And worst of all I did not appreciate her overzealousness, on how math is easy in her country.

I hate math and do not understand it at all. This professor explained Math better than it has ever been explained to me. I actually "got" math for the first time in my life. I would take her again and wished she taught the rest of the math courses I need.
Don't bother, this professor is a real B! If you ask her for help she responds very negatively and nasty. Not a fan at all and I did better than most of the students with an A. Many complained that they weren't getting help, I can totally see that. If you are just refreshing, this class will be fine but don't count on any help from the professor!
Professor didn't really help with understanding work, but I took the class simply as a refresher. I relied on google to help understand the work rather than the teacher.

I liked her online class. Her syllabus is straight forward and she reminded us through email of upcoming due dates. The home work and tests are completely online and make up 63% of your grade and the final is proctored for 37%. Not easy for me but I learned a lot.
HORRIBLE teacher. The book does not explain anything with enough clarity to understand it fully. A DOCTOR should NOT be teaching a remedial math class!!! She has no understanding of how people learn at this level and expects you to know things that to her are common knowledge but are NOT to the rest of the world. AVOID THIS TEACHER AT ALL COSTS!!!!
Regardless of the previous posts, I think Afiat math 93 class was an easy class. As long as you do your assigned homework and keep up with the due dates you'll do fine. I got a B in the class, If i tried harder i wouldve recieved an A, but I was too lazy to study.

This teacher is incredibly rude and unhelpful. The level she teaches is quite easy, but if you need help she is useless and if you have a situation that requires an extension or rescheduling of a test is completely unforgiving. Don't take her class.

Do NOT take this class if you want to talk to your professor at all, she will not reply to your emails. Your entire course will be done through another website and often the examples give you the wrong answer. The Professor is absolutely useless in the online course so you will need to be able to answer your own questions.

Most confusing online course I have ever taken. On the first day she had us trying to log on to another site in order to take the course. She had to resend the invites because 50 of her 120 students were confused on how to logon. Very rude and insists that you do not email her for something that is in the syllabus. Even if you just want to clarify.
Very confusing class. Material was on a different website with lots of technical difficulties. Online final was 1/3 grade with no way to review answers after the test.
A lot of bad reviews of her, but if you just do the work and avoid speaking to her, her course is not that bad. Do not message her for help, she will not help you, use google instead. Her class was extremely easy. My only problem with her is that she does not make up any work, even if the system was down and it wasn't anyone's fault.
This teacher it HORRIBLE. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. The program you are required to use was never working properly when I had the time to do homework. The assignments are all over the place. The teacher obviously has no idea how to work the program she requires you to use. I ended up failing because every time I went to do work the program was down.
The website changed compatible operating systems 2 days before a test date. The prof denied an extension. When I asked for help understanding problems she said, "Do you watch the videos?" Then ignored my question to tell me how to solve binomials. The website was showing a instead of a plus sign and a gap instead of negatives.
So, if you are not a math person, like myself, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. No matter how much you believe you can do it, it is pretty tough. I spent about 10 hours straight doing homework. and the worse is that you are not allowed to improve your score after the deadline. She does respond to emails, but does not grasp your point. Take another teacher.
The tests count for a majority of your grade, there's a 80% rule for all assignments leading to the final and the final is worth 30% of your grade. As for the teacher, online teachers normally respond to your emails within a day. There's at least one hw assignment per day and the textbook, video lectures and grading takes place on mymathlab

She is a very caring teacher, she helps her students any way that she can. She is intelligent and filled with a lovely spirit. I strongly recommend her as your professor :) She is extremely knowledgeable in mathematics.
Do not take this class! She messed up the final dates in her syllabus and let us know a week before the final. Never reminds of due dates via e-mails with exception of 3 tests. I received more email communication from my regular/ in person -class teachers than from her! And online classes do require email support. Got A, but on my own!
If you like having someone make you feel stupid for asking a question that you do not understand, then this "teacher" is for you! I learned after the first day to not ask her a single question, because she does not answer it and just makes you feel dumb for asking. I did enjoy the ALEKS site that we do the math on, did not have any trouble with it.
She used Aleks for our online class and it was ridiculous. The homework is time consuming and even more so if you get answers wrong. Unnecessary knowledge checks that aren't for credit so it wastes that much more of your time and if you get those questions wrong it goes onto your next assignment. At least that's what it did to me. 1/2
Can't use any notes at all for exams or finbal
This was the worst class I have ever taken at CSN. I have been here for 3 years, am an A-B student who received an F. The professor provides literally zero teaching and leaves it all up to aleks. No notes, no powerpoints, no help at all. The final is 45% of your grade. I am taking professor Pandey now & he has powerpoints for everything.
This teacher is AWFUL! I don't believe she should even be called a teacher. No notes, powerpoints, or help. I asked for help via email and she responded with "no". I missed my final because there was technical difficulty the day we were suppose to take it. She never email the class stating it had been resolved so I end up missing it and failed.

All work was done on Aleks. Professor had no involvement in teaching, only put in the request for my out of state exam. !!!For out of staters- she sends mass emails telling everyone to set up appointments at CSN for testing, needs reminders that you don't do this. Don't expect to be taught or helped with math. She relies solely on Aleks.
PLEASE DON'T TAKE HER! IF there is no other class being offered then wait until one become available. A lot of work assigned, the aleks program always crashed, she never respond to emails. Very tuff!!! I felt she did not care at all
Don't take her! I wish I would have seen this before I signed up for the class. She doesn't do anything; she only sends you to the aleks website, which is awful. It doesn't teach you what you need to know to move forward and the website is glitchy. I'm going to be pissed if I don't get an A in math 95....
Alekis was used the entirety of this online course and she rarely ever addressed any of her students or even teached us. The only time she addressed us as a class was a very distasteful email about students just asking for a day more to complete the mountain of Alekis homework that is assigned each week are terrible people and should be ashamed.
Ive gotten straight As my entire time at CSN, until this class! I put in hours and hours and hours of work just to get a C. This class is taught exclusively through the ALEKS program. It was the norm to be assigned 60-70 objectives per week, and they can be very time consuming since you are basically teaching yourself. Dont do it!!!
So much homework. Every week you would have several chapters worth of homework due, and they would each take at least two hours.
I am normally a straight-A student until I took this class. She is very hard to get ahold of. I felt like I was all alone in this class. The material for her class isn't hard but she gives a lot of it. If you are thinking about taking her classes, expect no flexibility as her tests are only open for 24 hours and she doesn't give makeups to ANYONE.
Extremely unprofessional. The tone in her emails is often heavily condescending and unjustifiably rude. She also takes forever to respond to emails regarding questions on coursework with very strict deadlines. This professor does not even follow her own course syllabus, while she refers you to the syllabus when you ask questions about the course.
