such a super nice teacher. He teaches in the way that everybody can understand it. He gives a in-class questions (2 to 3 short Qs) to work on almost every class. This really help students to figure out what type of questions that we will get in exam. GOOD

His lectures are really clear. He covers everything in class so you don't even need the text, although the study guide is helpful for practicing for exams. He's cute too, like a schoolboy whose mom makes him dress properly.

He is a great teacher with nice simle and helpful. A lot of students like him. He is smart and handsome. Good materials which help me later on at university.

Fulton has the most patience I've ever seen. So many dumb questions from students who are failing because they don't study or pay attention, yet a very pleasant reply from the teacher! Takes the time to make sure everyone understands the material. Kinda hyper, which is great for the night classes.

He's quite easy to understand; except for the Supply-Demand section. A lot of In-class assignments in the beginning and very little in the end of the term. Some exam questions are challenging. He provides a lot of insight towards the New Economy of the world. I got a C+, but okay.

Fulton is great. I would take his class again. There are two mid terms. The first mid term you can get away with just reading the text book, but the second mid term is mainly from the notes taken in class, so try not to miss any classes later in the term. Good teaching style.

Very clear in what he wants for his exams. Has the patience to repeat things and is very fair. Marking is okay but assignments are pretty much given free marks. Straightforward in what he wants for assignments. Thanks

Exams are not easy, but he is a nice teacher. He is patient, and tries to assist his students as much as possible. He gives good notes, and class assignments helped me with my midterms and finals. (Midterms contains m/c and short answer questions, some of them are similar with in class assignments.)

lectures are realy clear, but then also STRAIGHT from textbook. not a easy class, exams are hard. PRACTICE everything he gives you and from study guide to get a avg-good mark. if you are good at reading textbook, then dont go to his lectures, and collect handouts from friends. realy nice, but sometimes he didn't explain to me the difficult things

His midterms are extremely hard. Nearly half the class dropped after the 2nd midterm. But, he is very helpful, patient and nice. Take him if u plan to spend a lot of time going thru the STUDY GUIDE and his lecture notes, if not don't take him!!

IF you ask him to clearify something for you during his office hours he explains them to you very throughly. He is very approachable. His notes are clear. For tests just need to study his notes. No text only a little**** book that wasnt very helpful. If you did bad on a midterm you can replace that midterm with a research paper. RECOMMANDED!

he's very careful and clear about everything he says. examples in class help a lot. he doesn't test theory memorization but rather applications so i like that. always has extra office hours before midterm and very helpful! exercises, practice quizzes, assignments are directly related to midterms and very helpful, i'll take his 2296 again

His midterms are a bit tricky but that's expected already. He's helpful, but he wont give answers away; instead, he gives you hints. BUT what I really like about him is his notes! His notes are very thorough and if you aren't as great of a listener, this be the right class for you~

Overall he's a good teacher but his tests are pretty tough. His notes are good, follows the text book very close but don't expect to see the same thing on the test. He makes you apply the concepts to situations which is sometimes tricky. If your gonna take his class your gonna have to put in work so make sure u DO the study guide questions.

This course is hard, no scaling of marks, but awesome professor. Responds to you quick if you send email. Midterms are extremely challenging, but don't drop the course because of that! Do the practice problems! Despite the fact it is his first time teaching, he is really knowledgeable. He even has review sessions. Made a dry course interesting.

He is really good @ teaching that his detailed notes are very clear and all you need to review for his midterms and final is to read over his notes and do his quizzes and homeworks. Very good teacher. I really learn a lot from his class..

TMI for everything! (but only to illustrate things in super detail...) Uses overhead projecter to go over notes which are posted online as well - never opened my textbook.

If you think Econ is hard, it is. However, he gives comprehensive lectures and notes AND hiss overhead notes are everything you need to know. He posts notes and class info very promptly and if you have any qs he's very helpful! He also is up to date on current events that help you apply econ to real life.

I took his 1120&1121 econ courses at the same time, and I have to say he is a excellent,patient, and kind teacher. I always came to his office, asked questions, maybe this is one of the reasons why I got A for both courses. I have to be honest, if you don't have time to do study guide, it's not big deal. Focus on assignments, quizes, notes.

Although I appreciate his patience and helpfulness, his class has some serious issues. He has nothing but simple overheads while he teaches, only text, nothing exciting. He also takes what he teaches you and examines you on ridiculously more complicated matters. It would have been much better to have covered everything in more detail before exams.

He is very nice, very helpful.If u have some economics background, u must take this class,but he would teach some urban issues(like urban sprawl, (all memorization)).Maybe due to olympic break, he didn't have enough time to go through the last a few chapters. he used 4 lessons to teach nearly 50 pages of notes. Then u'll have exam soon after..

Study hard and ,u really need to spend time on hw, caz those questions may appear on exams,,pretty similar in paragragh question, but multiple choice is extremely difficult for me,i miss half my muiltiple choice marks, the average for the first mid term is 55%,i got 70=..=

He's a great teacher. He is very helpful but his exam is difficult. The first mid average is 56% or 57%, I forgot.What I think he is nice is that he is trying to higher the average in the second mid.The second mid is easier, with the average 65% or 66%. His notes are very great, his lectures are very interesting, he explains everything very well.

Fulton is an inspiring econ prof. He actually made me like econ more and he's definitely the go-to-guy if you want to take econ seriously and not just because. If professors were paid based on how well they taught... haha :)!

The first exam was fair. The second was nice. I don't know what I did to deserve the final lol. It was punishing. You have to study properly if you want to do well. He's very clear and happy to help, and I would totally take him again. Do his chapter exercises if he provides them, they help.

I don't understand why ppl wrote bad comments on him. he is indeed an excellent professor in economics. his exams were hard, impossible? I don't think so. it's like there is no way you can get an A+ on any other courses without spending time to study, precal maybe, but most aren't. you didnt study, and you failed the exams, whose fault is that?

I don't get WHY people would rate him hot. But he is a good teacher but a hard marker. He has patience for people who take the time to ask him questions. He uses many ways to keep his students interested and uses many MyEconLab and in-class assignments to keep students in the class room and to keep up with his class. Had a good semester.

I think Fulton is the only best instrustor at Langara, no exception. His lecture is very clear and you don't need a textbook. Even though there are lots of work to do in his course, do all of them and clearly understand everything and you can get at least A-. Trust me!Best instructor!

As long as you review the note that he gave it to you, do the exercises&homework, and understand what he says during class, you will be fine with his exams totally. Not that hard actually! :)

all asians must have rated him as a VERY GOOD PROF. He is def helpful, but extremely hard. He is very intelligent in regards to economics and expects students to be as intelligent. I took macro the semester prior and it was easy. I got a c- on his first midterm and FAILED the second ..ive never failed a midterm EVER. So that says something.

He's an ok teacher. He explains with clarity and enthusiasm. However, he's a HARD MARKER. If you want to get a higher GPA don't take his class. But if you're willing to learn, you need to exert more effort in order to pass his exams. He also gives a lot of MyEcon assignments. So goodluck to those of you who are/will be taking his class.

Micro is an easy course but that is not true for his class. Our mark is quite low compare to another class. But If you want to major in ECON, he is the best choice, he is very detail and will help you build up a fundamental knowledge for future studies.

Fulton is one of the best Economics professor in Langara. He is harder compare to most Econ profs in Langara, but you will learn 10 times more from Fulton. He prepares students very well with his difficult assignments and myeconlabs, so students can learn from their mistakes before the midterms. Overall, his class is not that hard

I want to major in Economics and so lucky I take ECON 1220 with him. He is super nice and patient. If he teaches ECON 2210 or 2296, I will take him again, for sure.

Also, I want to have a second major in Economic just because of him.if you study all his materials and ask him questions, you still can get a high grade

If you have a good work ethic Fulton's class is the right one for you! Go to class, listen carefully to his explanations, do ALL the assignments, and you will get a B or higher! Really enjoyed having him. Final exam was just the final 3 chapters :)

The teacher here is not one to blame, as it's totally my fault - I thought that I could manage somehow to work and study at the same time, but no luck lol He is a great teacher, by the way, but exams will be really hard if you are not going to practise everything and read study guide. Very willing to answer questions in person or through email. VERY HARD MARKER! The subject matter isn't easy to follow, and the assignments can be hard. He does give opportunities to increase your mark. Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, but still, he knows its a hard course and doesn't do much to make it easier. Use the study guide!

If you want to major in econ, then take Fulton. He will make you work for it but in the end you'll really learn a lot from him. You really have to study and his exams can be tricky. During exams, take deep breaths and read the questions carefully!

Fulton is great and awesome teacher. He has his personal teaching method, especially in a huge class. And I suppose it is also very useful for international students. There are pretty much assignments in this class, but absolutele they help you get a good mark. Two midterms and a final,you have to think carefully and manage the time well in exams.

Didnt like him at first, but realized how fair he was after a while. The exams are in a good, clear format and he gives you part marks for a lot of things if you explain your answers, even the multiple choice! 6 assignments, 6 online assignments, 2 midterms and a final. Also attendance counts so show up and take notes, as class is the most helpful.

Must cover all your bases to succeed. Fulton is straight-forward and clear involving how you will succeed or fail. All material is relevant and there is a LOT of it. Assignments not worth much, but a must do to succeed. Do the assignments, read the text, do the practice questions, quit your job. Yes, the last one, too.

I took his micro before too. I don't understand how some people complain that his class is not cleardifficult. You must understand what he covers in the class and practice questions-- that means, if you do prepare what he has covered, you can get good marks easily! There is no unexpected questions on the exam.

Fulton is the unicorn of econ instructors. His lectures are crystal clear and his notes are super organized and helpful. His tests are actually quite fair if you take the time to study the assignment questions and lecture notes. Definitely go with him if you plan on taking more econ courses in the future. You won't regret it!

Fulton's lectures are very clear and easy to understand. Does not mind spending time repeatedly explaining the same thing (albeit I do) so don't hesitate to ask questions. Assignments and exams are very straight forward. Just do your homework, study and you shall be rewarded.

My grades aren't in but I know for a fact I did bad in his class. However, I feel like I got the grade I deserve. His outlines are very clear on what he expects from you. He uploads checklists, practice exercises for every chapter, and practice tests . You get the grade you deserve with this guy. Lectures are kinda dry though. Pearson mandatory.

Fulton is pretty hilarious. Very nice guy. If you don't know what you're doing though, he is unafraid to call you out on it. Midterm and final are easy if you study for them, lots of kids fail because they don't study. He gives you straightforward guides though so just care about passing and you will.

Fulton really makes you work for your grade. His tests are very difficult. If you do all of his homework (Yes, the self tests and optional stuff too...) you will have no issue excelling in his class. His notes are the best I have ever received from any class I've ever taken. Don't take Fulton if you're not prepared to put in the effort to do well.

This course single-handedly brought me up to speed on modern world issues (employment, trade, business, etc.). Fulton is not strict or tough- just academically principled. His materials and lectures give you everything you need to succeed if you put in the work. Visit him during office hours and he will give thorough answers to all your questions.

Tom is a kind person, but his final exam is definitely tough. You need to catch the chance to get as higher as possible from first two midterm exams.

Fulton is a great teacher to learn from. He is informative, supportive, thorough and fair. Just as a note, if you do his optional presentation project, get ready to work. You can skip a mid-term of your choice if you do, but you still have to thoroughly learn midterm contents to complete assignments, ON TOP of the information for the presentation.

He gives very quality material to learn from. The slides, videos, lectures, assignments, all of them are super thorough. His tests are NOT an easy A whatsoever. You have to know the material inside out to get a good grade.

He is a distinguished professor who has done everything in his ability to teach his students an understanding of the economy. He gave you a lot of selective assignments to let you know the concept of the course. Even after class, he can answer your questions by email.

Fulton Tom is an incredible economics teacher. His lectures are clear, focused, and clearly demonstrates his expertise in the field. Be warned that his class is not easy, and the homework assignments, while technically optional, are crucial to understanding the material, and similar questions will certainly be on the midterms and the final.

Fulton is a caring teacher, who truly enjoys teaching the material. But be warned that to get a good grade you will need to put in a lot of work. We had a total of 22 assignments, which took about 2-3 hours to complete. Although not all the assignments are for marks, if you want to do well, do ALL the assignments. Test averages were about 50-55%.

It is clear Fulton loves teaching economics, though the lectures get dry and I find it difficult to pay attention for the full 2 hour lecture... it is non stop talking. His tests are very difficult but allows you to have a "cheat" sheet which helps if you know what to put on it. He utilizes d2l quizzes & discussions and socrative for course marks.

I didn't like Mr. Tom at first but he grew on me. He is an amazing teacher and knows his stuff and is also very genuine. You need to put in the work and he is willing to help if you ask him. I didn't not do the best in his class, but I would still take his classes again!

He's such a sweet professor - this course shouldn't be too difficult if you keep on top of things. That being said, you must watch lectures before the class, do quizzes and learn from them, and show up to class every time. If you don't understand something, he's happy to help. If you work hard, you'll learn a lot and get a well deserved A grade!

Definitely one of the best educators in the game. Pros: Transitioned extremely well to online Great Q&A system and very responsive (he has always gotten back to me within 15 mins, even close to midnight) Lectures and work are very relevant to tests/exams/real life applications Cons: Workload is heavy for an elective (half a math course)
