Dr. Sami is a nice teacher. He posses required knowledge to teach chemistry. I had six hours a day sessions with him. To be very frank, you have to study any way to pass his exams. He gives pools of questions and his exam is 100 % from that pool, but the pool itself is huge to cover. If you are a hard worker he will like you and will try to help!

I like this class.

He is too funny and very strict sometimes. CHM 111 requires tough reading. He ask his students to ask questions, unfortunately no one pays attention. He is easily available through email and he makes sure to reply within minutes.

If you don't put the time and work in you will most likely not do well in this class.

loved his labs, he was always willing to explain and takes pride in his students! he has a very friendly personality and get along with everyone, but do not skip class . Ask questions not ridiculous questions, that would irk anyone! Absolutely loved him and his passion towards education and his students.

Made a three hour chemistry lecture bearable. Very very helpful and responsive to email. Gave extra credit if you did the homework (very time consuming but crucial for test prep). Do well on the take home quizzes and you will be golden.

Dr. Sami is a nice professor. He holds all students to a high standard academically and will catch you if you attempt to cheat and/or copy work. While he may seem harsh at times he truly cares for his students and wants them all to succeed. Take him only if you have a real interest in chemistry and ready to do study thoroughly .

Dr. sami took this summer CHM101 marathon in the middle of the course due to sudden health issues with the professor in-charge. The job well done!. To all those looking for an easy way out, Dr. Sami should not be your choice, but if you really want to learn Chemistry do not go anywhere else. You have to put in time and efforts to get an A.

Dr. Sami is a very fair professor; very knowledgeable. He challenges you and cares that his students learn. Would definitely recommend him. Very helpful in lab. Chem 101 is a no-joke class; keep up and do the homework as well as practice doing additional questions to be proficient in preparation for the exams. If you work, you will do well.

Very very good course! Firstly, let me start by saying that I took the summer course but the professor is very good at teaching during class and helping during after class hours. Lastly, do the hwk, readings, ask questions, review labs before lab day, and go over hwk +book problems(possibly lab aswell) before test day and you'll have yourself an A.

Sami is a reasonable professor. He does not believe in spoon feeding. He invoke you to read and practice and reach out to the answer for your queries. It is a good course but definitely you have to work for it. Another important point is, initially he is very strict in his course but once the withdrawal is done, I found him very accommodating.

Wonderful class

He is strict at first but is more lenient as the semester progresses. He does give a lot of assignments and tests. It may seem bad at first but it helps boost your grade as you will have the chance to improve you grade and you grade will not be dependent on a few things. He does give extra credit points on the exam sometimes which boosts your grade

Dr. Sami is AWESOME but so so tough. He is the most strict I have ever taken for a professor. You better be good at taking notes for 3 hours straight, and comprehending some hard Chemistry. I took his CHM 111 his fall. I didn't realize I had to study so hard but once you study you will have at least a B. Just study!!!

Personally I didn't find the class too difficult, but I had some prior knowledge on the subject which helped. I felt the lectures gave good ground work for the knowledge and homework/reading expanded on it. Labs were pretty straightforward and helped demonstrate learned principles. Final grading was pretty lax.

Dr. Sami makes the long lectures pass with relative ease, just be ready to work, study, and read the textbook.

Pay attention

Professor Furqan. He's a tough one. But he is a very good professor! he knows chemistry well. Also, he is very feisty so don't come in late a lot and don't let him catch you fall asleep! Overall, he is a very good professor! He is the best once the withdrawals are completed!

His lectures are longer and not that easy to understand but his slides are straight to the test. Easy A if you study the slides and so the assignment. He seems strict but he is actually not that strict. His test are not that hard. Recommended

I took Sami for CHM101 and then for CHM111 and now CHM112 this spring! He is a nice instructor. From the day first our schedule for tests and quizzes was very well defined on our syllabus. All quizzes were take home, the easiest 100 points. You have to study to do good in CHM111. He is strict in the beginning but very lenient after withdrawals.

Dr. Sami is the most humble professor. Those posting awful must be the faliures. The syllabi was very clear from the day first with plenty of options to withdraw. You get extensions on assignments and huge extra cresdits! His classes are super easy. Just follow the instructions, maintain dicsipline and please read! Give respect get respect!

Ha ha seems like some students are taking revange from Sami. I was in his Fall 2016 class and found it super easy. Ofcourse you have to study to pass this course. I got A. He is strict in maintaining class discipline. His lectures are super easy. Most of the exam is based on homework, slides and quizzes. No problem at all. I'll highly recommend him

I thoroughly enjoyed and learned many aspects of basic Chemistry in Prof. Sammi's class. His exams are based on lectures and homework. Homework is available through sapling. He gives take home quizzes worth 80 points in total. Drops one lowest exam, 3 lowest labs and 2 lowest quizzes. At the end your grade shines with plenty of extra credits.

Follow the instructions, read what is mentioned on thw syllabus to pass it with A. His classes are not difficult at all. Just follow the lecture slides and homework to do good in exams.

Many of us found the course difficult in the begining. Later we all realized the parttern of study to do well in class. More than 50% class passed the course with A grade. To be true to all here, you have to study throughout the sememster. Some of the students may find it difficult though!

This Chemistry class is not difficult at all. Just go through the lecture slides, do home study as required and there should not be any problem. Homework is a bit challenge but all quizzes were take home. Exams are based on quizzes and homework. Easy 'A' if you study well and follow all the instructions.

Dr. Sami knows what he is teching. He is a PhD with a background in research. Some students mught not understand his caliber. Having said that, he offers lots of extra credits.

Lectures and labs go over concepts that you reinforce with other student work. Show up, pay attention, read, do the labs, and it's all gravy. It's the students job to learn!

Currently, I am in his 5 weeks summer session. We have been tested on two exams so far. Exams are exactly what he is teaching in class actually SAYING in class and a close match to the questions that you see in quizzes (TAKE HOME). Not difficult at all, just study and follow the instructions.

Professor Sami makes CHM111 easy! He's a hard worker and knows the subject matter very well. He goes very quickly and this isn't a class you're going to fall asleep in. Things even might go over your head (happened to me but I still did very well). That being said there's still many assignments to be done and many extra credit chances.

Professor Sami is a very knowledgeable and helpful teacher. He is very flexible when it comes to grading and always tries to help the students out. He is an excellent lab teacher as well. As long you put the work on top, an A/B should be manageable.

I'd highly recommend taking 111 with Dr. Sami. He cares about student's learning, and offer more chances if you genuinely need it. His evening sections are awesome, you wont feel sleepy because of the real world jokes he make in Chemistry. I enjoyed his class and secured a good B grade.

Show up, pay attention, and you'll be fine. He gave us 2 open-book test and the last one was the only hard one. the wants you to succeed so he gives out extra credit assignments, but he doesn't let anyone just skim through. He will work with you if you talk with him. Over all hes a good guy.

This review is for CHM 111. I have also registered for his CHM112 class. Prof. Sami is very knowledgeable and makes every effort to help his students succeed. He is a fair grader. Sami teaches the material clearly & with enthusiasm, but he covers a LOT so you must memorize all of it. Because of this, your grade really depends on how much you study. If you study efficiently & confidently know the key concepts he gives in his slides, you'll do fine. There's several onlinehomework & quizzes, but they're creative & not hard.

He is a knowledgable Professor. Plenty of chances were offered to re-study for grade improvement. At the end, this is us who did not study. You cannot prepare yourself for CHM112 if you rely on studyguides. Entire CHM111 is the foundational knowledge for CHM112.

I did not realize I'll even pass this class du to my family problems. He gave extenaions for online assignments and quizzes and a chance to take make-up exam. It turned out well at the end with a B. I think if yiu fall behind in your assignments and study it will be difficult to cover then..

Dr. Sami has done a reasonable job. All lectures were nicely delivered. Exams were based on questions very similar to what we have practiced in our online assignments and lecture slides. Extra credit was offered through extra assignments. There is no free food. I highly recommend Professor Sami.

I will not lie and tell you there is not a lot of work, but it is very clear on what is expected. Get to class, and do the work. It's a science class, so just pay attention and you will learn things you may not know already.

The class itself is really hard, but if you show up to lecture, pay attention, and write what he SAYS not just the powerpoint, you will do fine. He knows what he is talking about, and is so helpful one-on-one. To do well you have to go to class and pay attention bc he tells you what won't be on the test.

Sami really was an OK teacher. He gave decent lectures and would answer any questions students had. Also held a study session before tests to help students study. His tests were a little challenging, so you need to study thoroughly. However, he has a great grading policy to help students with their grades. An A is definitely possible if you study

I didn't really like chemistry in high school, but I really enjoyed "Chemical Thinking". Lectures were very engaging and interesting, he is very passionate about chemistry and has a sense of humor. Though the subject can be difficult at times, you just have to put in the work and end up learning a lot. Difficult tests, but there is extra credit.

Mr. Sami is the best guy for chemistry 111. His class is somewhat challenging but if you do the homework and listen in class an A is definitely attainable!

You know when you're doing terrible in a course, and it's the almost the end of the semester, this professor will look at you're overall participation i.e you actually show up to class, take notes, do the HW whether you did well or not, he will allow you to pass. I was failing almost all the exams, but I tried to do all the assignments and got a B!

Awesome! I took my chm111 last year with Sami and now chm112. I got straight A's in both. Follow his instructions and yes, study guides and extra credit is all you need to completely understand to do well in each exam.

I just finished his CHM11 class with an A and now registered to his 6 weeks summer session for CHM112. I followed the instrutions. I did bad in one of my in class exams and got an option to take another exam towards the end. Overy all, a productive class. Took him for for CHM 111 and 112. He's very clear about the requirements to succeed in his class (all outlined in the syllabus and explained on the first day). As long as you do the required reading and homework outside of class, you will do well. Dr. Sami cares most about work ethic and improvement over time. He's very nice and supportive!

Taking his 1st six weeks summer chm111. He seems fine to me. He is caring and nice person. Lectures not difficult except when he solves practice problems. He skips simple steps, assuming everyone knows already. Other than that no compaints. I am erolled for his 2nd six weeks chm112 already!

Hey, I would say just keep doing your best in your exams, and BE REGULAR! Homework and quizzes are online. Clear grading criterion. Labs are easy and lab reports are take home assignments. Keep doing hard till the end of the course. Sami won't make it easy for you but at the end you will not be disappointed for sure. It happened to me :)

Professor Sami is one of my favourite professor I've had in college so far. The workload in this class is not a lot, but you must complete all the sapling assignments and labs if you wish to succeed. I forgot to do to quite a few saplings but I reached out to him and he let me redo them. I finished with an 89.6 which he rounded up to a A.

I was all set to drop, but I do not know why I just continued. I had a D earlier and I ended up with a B in his class. Not to disappoint ,but he will be straight clear to you if he thinks you should drop the course. I tried to improve and succeed. He is clear with all assignments and grading. You have to do your part. Just complete all assignments.

Beginning to the mid of semester, it was a lot of pressure with homework, quizzes and exams. Labs and pre-lab quizzes are also there. Towards the end of the semester, I felt less pressure and he was also relaxed and gave us many opportunities to improve our grades. He has decent teaching experience. Meet all deadlines or you will be lost!!!

Prof Sami lays out his expectations of the students on the first day of class. Attending lectures is very important, as he explains and simplifies complicated concepts. Prof Sami is passionate about his subject and encourages questions. CHM111 is a challenging course and reading the material before the lectures definitely makes it easier to grasp.

Dr. Sami is very clear in expressing the grading criteria of his class. Your grade is based on your exams, online quizzes/hw, and lab papers. Exams are based on his lecture material; he drops the lowest score and gives an optional final exam. Lab's discussed every start of class and he lets you out when you finish early. He's humorous & witty.

Thank you Dr. Sami. Your teaching methods were very helpful. you were way more than expectations. My suggestion to all those interested in taking his class is to be regular and meet deadlines. If you fall behind, you will be lost.

I took both CHM11 Fall18 and CHM112 Spring19 with Sami. 3 exams each based on 3 chapters. Optional final to make up the lowest grade out of 3. Final is retesting on the same questions from 3 exams! He changes his teaching methods and grading criteria every semester. I enjoyed learning Chemistry in his classes. I wish he teach Organic too.

I took both CHM111 and CHM112 with Sami. Grading policy is crystal clear from day 1. He is very specific in his requirements and in order to do good in his class follow the instructions carefully! Lectures, I'd say are super important because he give hints about exam questions during his lecture. I passed both classes with As. Rock on!!

CHM112 is difficult in a sense that it requires a lot of fundamental knowledge from CHM111 and Math. Syllabus clearly mentions that strong hold on Math skills and CHM11 concpets is required to do well in CHM112. I won't recommend taking 112 in just 6 wks. Grading criterion is clear from day 1. I learned so much from Sami. Thank you!

Dr. Sami do not return exams but all exams were available for our review. I myself reviewd all my exams. He mentioned that students did not asked him to review their exams. I am currently taking his 14 week class. First exam was exactly what he told us during the lectures. He is more helpful when you talk to him and ask questions. My experience with him is excellent so far!

He made it easier for us otherwise 112 is not easy. I see how students do that in 6 wks class, I wonder! I feel it is not easy at both ends. Think about poor professor to finish material in just 6 wks? Yes, he ask students to give him answers but that is for us to push ourselves to use our calculators to did right there. Justified!

Truly, he helped me pass this class in many ways! Talk to him, if you really need help absorb the content. Relying on self study wont help. Talk to him about the concepts and exams as much as you can. It helped me pass this class with a C.

Took his 6 wk 112 last year. 10 points extra-credit for each exam and that too is a homework, what else you desire for? Lots of opportunities to improve. Follow the instructions and keep meeting all deadline, you'll do good. End the course do not get stressed in the middle. Very strict at the beginning , very lenient towards the end of the course.

He is a reasonable professor. Do interact with him both in class and out of class. He helps if you really ask for. I was happy with the feedback from his side. He tries to engage his students in class. Yes, during worked problems he guides you to get to the answer. Extra practices with answer keys are always available.

I tell you, Sami is fantastic in accommodating genuine issues. Spring 2020 class is now remote but it is so good through zoom meeting like we are sitting in class. He's been so helpful. I was never comfortable with online classes. He has made it learning and fun at the same time! Thank you Sami.

Sami is knowledgable with a professor's attitude. Very helpful but you need to go to him and ask for help. He use smart phone apps to have a 24/7 text tutoring available for his students. He always responded to my questions in a minute or so. Follow his instructions to do well.

Not shy about articulating his high expectations and doesn't drop everything mid-lecture to explain topics from the previous semester. Lets us know differences between work we're doing and expectations at 4-yr schools. But he's kind and accessible when you ask for help and will work with you 'til you understand.

I started 112 Spring 2020 in-person class with him. Due to COVID-19 the class changed into remote learning. He managed it well changing everything to remote learning in the middle of the course would be challenging for sure. Sami is a good choice at Alexandria campus. He makes sure students are learning and works with them to succeed in his class.

I am taking this class right now. Exams are online via zoom. It is an easy A for the exam only if we are prepared for the exam :) Seems like I'll pass it with a B+. Not bad. He is not very demanding. Labs are straight 20/20. He offered extensions as well. He is nice!

He is nice. He worked beyond the scheduled hours. He definitely worked beyond he is paid for. He is caring and gave us all extensions on assignments. Extended Exam 3 on our class request. Sami is OK. The course is 50% self learning through the material (videos and notes) provided on Canvas. Achieve is used for online homework. Labs are very easy. Exams are a little challenging but there is 10 points extra credit for each exam and he scales up with the student getting maximum in the class. Unfortunately we had some who got 100/100.

Hey, the key is to keep passing hi exams with at least a D to end up on a C. He is very helpful now (towards the end). We got extensions and Final Exam that was being used to replace one lowest exam is now going to be used to make up two lowest exams. Clearly helping! Sad for those who dropped already. May be they did not pass any of his exams!

It is a miracle towards the end that my scores got better. Sami helps but you must pass the exams with a C to end up on a B... I am getting it. Making up two lowest exam grades with final instead of only one as it was the rule earlier. Definitely more lenient towards the end of the course.

Sami is very helpful. At your end, you must do a few things: 1. You MUST pass exams (a D is fine too) 2. Meet deadlines. 3. Talk to him if you need help to understand material. 4. I have taken professor Sami for CHM11 and now CHM112 and he is great! Do not hesitate to ask for help because he will definitely help you succeed in class. Very patient as long as you don't do dummy stuff in the labs! Do all of your work and you can easily get an A

You know the expectations from day one. I have nothing to complain about Sami. He was helpful but at the same time strict to make sure that the course enhances your knowledge in Chemistry at the same time.

I like the fact that his class is not like an old way of straight lecture for 2 hours. Instead he provides recorded lectures and all material available in advance. So we can watch these anytime we want to. He uses class time to interact and to clarify anything that does not make sense to any of us. He was always available for the lecture time.

I took both Gen courses with Sami. Extremely helpful. General Chemistry requires lots of study. His lecture sessions are once a week 2.5 hrs usually 7:00 to 9:30. I never had energy to attend his full lecture, but the lectures are recorded and available shortly. Labs are in-person but not every week. Self-study and deadlines. Allways available!

Sami is always available! 100 % asynchronous class with regular online help sessions via zoom. Only 2 lab meetings to complete 8 labs at the Alexandria Campus. Sami is fantastic. This course is self-paced. His recorded online lectures are fine and sample exams are extremely important to do good in exams. I recommend his class, I felt zero pressure!

Dr. Sami is extremely helpful. He is always available to answer questions via email, during class, through Remind app and in-person. In any online course we must read the instructions provided on Canvas. My experience is amazing. He always encourages us to ask questions. In labs, he makes sure that we are fairly helped. Highly recommended.

The best part is the zoom lectures are not mandatory to attend live. Recordings are available right away! Course is easy as long as you follow Dr. Sami's instructions. Plenty of time to complete assignments thus no extensions unless you have a documentable genuine reason for missing a wide time window to complete assignments.

Keep the pace and remain on top of deadlines! He is strict in extensions but because the exams are online, take each exam anywhere in a 10-day window. Also, because online homework is open nearly for 20 to 25 days. I forgot to complete assignments and had hard time requesting extensions. Dr's note will work! Sami is a nice person otherwise..

I am happy that I took Gen Chem II with Sami. Course is well set on Canvas with deadlines to meet. Lectures are optional via zoom. Pre-recorded lectures are available if you do not attend live lectures. He is very accessible via email and/or remind app. If things do not make sense, do not hesitate to ask.

Taking his 6 wk summer course. The expectstions and grading policies are very very clear. He is extremely helpful and accessable 24/7 via Remind App.

He is available over zoom to help during help sessions. 2 Lab meetings on a Saturday and Sunday at Alexandria Campus. If you are not familiar with NOL classes, do not take this class. 24/7 help over Remind app!

There was not a single time I asked for help, and he did not help me! He is awesome, you just need to study and if he knows that you are on it, he will be even more helpful. 4 exams are online through respnodus browser. You are being recorded and he goes through your recording before he grades exams. Be careful.

Sami is helpful. His NOL Class is self-paced, but you must meet deadlines. You must do sample exams and extra credits to do well in Exam. Securing an A is not difficult if you keep the pace.

112 is hard but Sami made it easier for us. Exam questions were the closest match to extra credits and sample exams. cover his recorded lectures and show up during help sessions is a must, though attendance is optional for help sessions. We had two in-person lab meetings on a Saturday and Sunday. Ask for help, he will be there for you.

I'd highly recommend attending all zoom sessions. Lectures are clear. Do sample exams and extra credits to prepare for the exam. Sami is helpful but you are responsible for your studies and your grades. He is strict about meeting deadlines. I have had a wonderful experience with him. He was always available to help. Lab meetings are in-person.

Sami is an excellent instructor. Course is well set on Canvas. Deadlines are set well at the beginning. Expectations are delivered during first class. CHM111 is challenging concepts and work problems. I have no complaint against Sami so far. He is doing a good job.

Taking my CHM 111 with Dr. Sami this fall and already know that my chm 112 will be with him as well. Very caring and strict about the course policies at the same time. Besides chemistry you learn a lot like meeting deadlines, critical thinking and much more. Not many professors are such caring these days. Get ready for some serious studies.

CHM112 is not easy but Dr. Sami was extremely helpful in understanding material, extensions and other life issues if we timely reach out. This NOL course has only 3 lab meeting on Sundays 1pm - 5pm to perform 3 labs in each meeting. Some students do not do their prelab study and are lost, He pushes everyone to be done on time. I recommend Sami!!!

His teaching tools are smart, breaking down complicated concepts into simple bits, plenty of materials so you can find what is easy to you, Despite not taking science for over a decade and being a literature major, thanks to him chemistry became my favorite subject.EASY to get high grades, to enjoy and learn a lot about chemistry!

Dr. Sami was a super down to earth and easy to get along with. Very lenient with grading lab reports and short answer questions. Recorded lectures are tough to follow because of accent and content, be prepared to do a lot of looking things up on youtube/online. Extra credit for each exam, drops lowest lab grade and exam. Sami is an outstanding professor. The key is to be on top of your assignments. Once in a while he offers extensions, but he becomes really upset if you ask for so many favors. I like his teaching style that he just does not go over the slides which many professors do. Easy A if you follow instructions and timely finish your tasks!

Sami's online class was perfect for me. All study materials were provided on canvas. He offered help sessions once a week & more if needed. Students rarely showed up for the help sessions. If you desire to secure an A in this class, you must study, attend lectures/help sessions and timely reachout Sami. This is Gen 2, not a piece of cake!!

I had difficult time in this class, but I take full responsibility of my shortcomings. After missing my third exam, Sami reached out to me at his own asking if all is well. Never had a professor coming back to me. He is very caring but to pass the course we have to study & follow his instructions. He is strict at times but to maintain discipline.

Mine was 100% online with self-reading/videos. Very helpful but only when you ask. Offers once a week help/discussion session. Mostly, he tailors the discussion on your questions. His old lectures on the same topics are already available. He expects that students cover lectures before joining the help session but rarely happened in my class :)

4 must take online exams through lockdown browser. Each exam covers 2 chapters. 3 points per chapter extra credit when you timely turn in the worksheets (mostly a night before exam is due). final exam is optional and replaces the lowest grade out of 4-chapter exams. 3 must attend lab meetings on 3 Saturdays. It was not difficult for me!

Mine is a 15-week online class. He used to do lecture sessions on Monday evenings. Provided lecture recordings and plenty of instructional videos embedded in each module for the exams. Sample exams and Extra credits are a must to do well in exam. Self-learning due to being 100% online. self-paced but deadlines to meet. Dr. Sami is very helpful.

Sami is fantastic. Online exams were not too hard. Be regular in studies. You have to study yourself a lot, I'd say 70% because this is an online class with only 3 in-person lab meetings. Labs are easy too. Be regular and meet deadlines. Sami is too strict in giving extensions but plenty of time is provided to complete assignments. Easy A!

Prof.Sami was a great professor, the work itself are easy and on your own time. Best part was that final exam is just extra credit. The lab instructions are clear and exams are mainly based off the homework.

Professor Sami is an admirable instructor. He graded all assignments with diligence and provided ample opportunities to grow as a student. It happens all too often where instructors lack patience for questions asked, however, Professor Sami was the opposite; he encouraged the most critical thing a student should have, excitement to learn.

The professor excels at online teaching, offering clear, structured instruction and mandatory interactive labs. He effectively uses Zoom for real-time student support, enhancing the learning experience.

He goes by the policies, explained at the begining. No grade curving but plenty of extra credits. He is very strict about meeting deadlines. Do not fall behind is the key to do well in this course. To get extensions you have to bring genuine documentation. Sami is caring and helpful and has mastry in concepts.

The course is perfectly set at the beginning with extremely strict deadlines just to benefit students. All you need to make sure that you are meeting deadlines. Sami is available anytime you want him specially in advance. Reaching out to him at last minute is useless! Easy class if you can follow instructions and policies exactly.

Professor Sami is an exceptional online instructor. His clear, structured lessons and interactive labs make the course engaging. With unstuck study and the free textbook, I aced this class with minimal effort. Definitely recommend for an easy A!

Dr. Sami ask his students to interact with him during a 3-hour live online zoom class. It is otherwise impossible for both instructor and students to make it interesting. His recorded lectures on each chapter are available on Canvas. He wants us to go through the material and be ready for the discussion in class. He never asks us to self-study!!

His recorded lectures are helpful, but many other videos are also embedded in each module. Help sessions: requesting students to join to get help. Two Sundays to complete all the labs from 10 am - 6 pm (ends earlier). Exams are the closest match to the extra credit worksheets. Sami is a reasonable part-time professor at NOVA.

Great class! There multiple ways to learn the material (from slides to the textbook, to the zoom lectures) as well as practice the questions in advanced of the test. There were also a lot of opportunities to ask and go over questions.

Some might have problems with Sami for not giving them so many extensions. He is very picky about meeting deadlines. He is nice but if you disrespect, he becomes really angry. This happened in our class this semester. Plenty of time is provided to submit assignments also with late penalty. Just no extensions.

Must complete extra credit work problems. Sami is a nice professor. Virtual/online classes are to provide resources to study instead of having regular class time. He offers help sessions. He clarifies course structure at the begining. Plenty of resources to study!! He is availaable during online zoom sessions and responds to emails efficiently.

I think at first, I was not a fan of the flipped classroom that Prof. Sami uses, as class is just for discussion and help. But I came to understand the strengths, as I ended up learning better on my own, and asking tough questions constantly in the class discussion. This class style isn't for everyone, but it definitely made me a stronger student.

Detailed recorded lectures for each chapter are available on a well organized course page on Canvas. Lecture is 3 hours once a week to cover material per exam needs. Not required though but much better to watch recorded lectures before you show-up to zoom sessions. Sami tries to make it interactive but class was barely responsive to him.

Dr. Sami was helpful to the best of his capacities. Always available. I would say do not take a 100% online course easy. There is a lot of study before you see the professor with specific questions. Read, watch lecture videos and write questions and make proper use of time interacting with Dr. Sami.

Professor Sami was very clear in his expectations from the begining of his course. It was a virtual class. He pushed students to cover provided material before coming to the lecture. He ask questions during his lecture and if there is no reaponse from students he gets upset that students are not prepared to make it an interactive classroom.

Anyone can succeed in this class just by studying all the materials provided, doing the extra credit, and just showing up for lab on time. There is enough practice for you to and extra credit that passing the class with flying colors will be relatively easy. However, you are expected to do a lot of studying due to the flipped nature of the class.

You have to study before coming to the virtual lecture. You have to interact with professor. One day he asked all of us to turn on our cams and remain involved in discussion. Unlike other professors, he pushed us to study. He expected us to study exactly as students put in efforts in a four year college. I liked his class, you may disagree though.

He said he is going to change it to 50% in-person 50% online exams format in Spring 2025. solve extra credits to do well in Exams. Be on time for the labs, you may be late once or twice telling him in advance, after he will be pissed!!

I took NOVA Online with Sami. He was available to interact with students once weekly. That is what is expected in an online course. Recorded lectures are available on CANVAS. His course is perfectly set on CANVAS and deadlines from day 1. First day of class you know all the expectations.

Do not get late or tardy for his labs (in-person) more than once! That is all the grace he has for ill-timed students. Even for the first time if you are running late, do send him an email well before class starts. He is really annoyed by habitual late commers, and he is direct about it! That is all I have bad to say about him.

professor is fine and teaches well. Studies are required seriously for the exams. This semester he changed exam from online to in class over zoom. Going ok so far.

no complaints, except over the zoom exams were hard, though he helped with exams across the board by giving 100/100 in one of the exams.

Dr. Sami is a very experienced Chemistry professor. We were challenged at many levels. You have to study and book reading was enforced as the professor uses textbook for his lecture instead of PPTs. The course on Canvas and a very clear criterion and expectations. I did secure an A grade in his class, but I had to study, it is not an easy A.

He is a very strict professor. Very punctual and expects the same from students. I reached out to him several times and I always got his reply with in 6-8 hours sometimes sooner. Well-structured course on Canvas. Professor enforces students to read textbook!! Good extra credit and the 5th exam was a comprehensive makeup exam!

Amazing professor who supports you when it matters most! His teaching style helps you find how you learn best and succeed in all your future courses. Also his letter of recommendation got me into my top-choice school. He'll inspire you to love chemistry and dream bigger than you thought possible. Don't hesitate to take his class if he's available!!

The bad grades are just the people who expect an A to be given to them. This professor gives you a grade based on how much you care about the class. If you care and try, you'll do good. He is a great professor and good feedback

100% online but in-person labs. Expectations clear. 5 exams: worst gets dropped, 5th non-cumulative. Like all online classes, expect reading and self study. Objectives and study guide for each exam. Extra credit opportunities. Labs easy if you read beforehand. He genuinely wants you to succeed beyond just this class and pushes you to do so!

Dr. Sami is my goat he's a great teacher if you can understand him (sometimes is hard as he as an accent). Labs were so easy, and he gave 20/20 on each one even though I definitely got some stuff wrong for the post lab questions. He doesn't take attendance for lectures, but I would go anyway they are useful.

Dr. Sami is a strict professor, which is expected to control a class. We met once a week for lecture, 3 hours of Zoom. He ask students to be engaged during discussion to keep class interesting. It is not possible if you have not gone through the materials already provided on Canvas. recording is provided right away. Labs, easy! Follow rules!

Dr. Sami is a great professor. I really enjoyed learning from him. His labs were fun and he grades pretty easy. Exams were good and I studied using the powerpoint and practice exam. He responds to emails pretty quick and has office hours. He is a great professor and encourages us to ask questions and he explains it multiple times. Thanks Dr. Sami!
