Very easy going teacher. Grades lightly on labs, you only turn in the Capatones, and the final exam can be exchanged for a research paper or a presentation in front of the class.

If you are a non-science major, and especially if you're sick of all the freaking core classes and just want a simple freaking class, THIS is the class for you. It's simply impossible not to make an A in this guy's class. His tests are easy and he's fun to listen to. He is a good teacher. He teaches concepts instead of forgettable, unuseful information. He tries to get the students to engague but most of them are lacking in participation skills. Those are the ones who do not like him (as a teacher).

Very easy A. Didn't learn much at all. A VERY nice man but a poor lecturer. He cares about students, is VERY paternal just not a good prof if you want to learn. But an easy A if you can tolerate sitting through class and hearing about his children, life, wife and anything since everything is, it seems, is related to environmental science.

He is the best teacher!!! his class was very easy and I didn't even read all of the chapters all of the way through and i passed the tests easily. He doesn't make you do all of the labs. He just asks that you turn in the Capstones which there are only four and they only take 5 minutes. Very cool Too!!!

I absolutely resent KSU requiring 1101 AND 1102. Of all the courses useful to you after graduation 1101 and especially 1102 rank EXTREMELY low. Why not require a foreign language instead? Anyway, considering we must take 1102 I am extremely grateful to have taken Simpson. No stress, some learning, usually enjoyable and an easy A.

Simpson is very humorous, and he contributes not only to learning but also provides easy solutions to help the earth. Everyone says the tests were easy but I overanalyzed b/c I wasn't really sure where he was coming from.

Best teaher at Kennesaw State Cares about everyone When i was in class we had 3 test the whole semester and if you didn't want to take them the only thing you had to do was do a presentation on anything you wanted to and you could have up to 8 people in your group to do it and everyone got an A an even if you just took the test it was still easy

I was a little disappointed that we didn't actually do anything Earth Science-related after we finished the Geology sections. All tests & grades were from papers and/or easy little projects. Very nice guy, but you don't get much from the class. Don't bother buying the book.

Simpson is the best teacher Ive ever had at Kennesaw. The class is very easy and you don't have to show up. He didnt take attendance and gave 20 pts one day to anyone who was there, just for the hell of it. We watched alot of film and had a lot of discussion on interesting topics. Hardly used to book. COOL GUY! Such a hippie! You DO NOT need the book...just pay attention in class...his tests are over ALL the topics we discuss in class so pay attention...here's a tip...on his tests...CHOOSE all of the above if given...think like HE (the prof NOT Jesus) would and you'll get an A! Very easy guy!! So nice and he attempts humor, doesn't always work, but hey he's easy to listen to. Tests are SUPER easy. Attendance isn't a must. I went to the class mostly just on tests day and passed with flying colors. But, go and enjoy his fun.

A very helpful professor who makes a general education course at Kennesaw State University fun and exciting. The only complaint I would have is that the test do not reflect the content in the seventy five dollar text book we required to purchase.

PERFECT teacher for a lower level class! Understands that science 1102 is a required course and does not expect his students to be science majors! Mr. G is GREAT. I take him on Sat mornings and he gives you a reason to want to take a class on the WEEKEND. Coming to class is not mandatory, but if you want to pass he recommends that you be there. Don't even think about taking someone else. If he doesn't fit into your schedule, MAKE HIM FIT. Easiest A you will EVER... EVER earn in college. He's hysterical, caring, and fun. I took it at 8:00 on a Saturday. Yes, it's that necessary. Don't buy the book. Don't even study. Just show up and take the test and laugh at the funny choices.

Not your typical teacher! Lectures are extremely helpful and if he knows who you are, you are better off. LOTS of extra credit. However, if you don't think like he does the tests will be really hard. Mostly T/F questions that have to do with what he thinks is important, but you never really know what that is until you read the test. Easy labs too.

This class was a waste.The tests were pathetically dumbed down. I never took notes and didn't buy the textbook and made As on his tests. Hes funny, but if you dont like wasting your tuition money on a BS class, dont take it. Easy A, but frustratingly so. Also, he though the Disney monorails ran on cooking oil and didn't respond when corrected.

I had King for 1101 and when I had Simpson for 1102 I actually found fun and enjoyment in science. He is always jovial and he cares about every single student. Very funny. I find it funny when people say it's a waste of class. If you want a hard class goodness don't take him. He's really funny. Not some stiff that just lectures, he relates it to life with funny stories. If you pay attention you'll be fine, the book isn't necessary unless you LOVE taking notes on common sense.

This is a tough guy to review. He's nice. But, I don't know if he really takes his job that seriously. His lectures are all over the place, WHEN he does them. He'd be happy just letting students do their presentations all semester about things that are borderline science. The first page of the final had 10 questions about Disneyworld.

This was one of the most interesting classes i have take at Kennesaw. I took this class in the fall and failed the class, but when he taught it I got an A. His test questions may be ridiculous, but I learned more this time around than the first. Dont bash the guy cause he is borderline hippy.

Easy class. Prof. Simpson is a great guy! He may be a little corny at time but he is really genuine in his efforts. Those who think that is class is "useless" I completely disagree. Just because is class isn't another boring lecture doesn't mean its useless. He simply tries to teach about things that are relevant to life in a more relaxed way.

I don't care what these people say, I absolutely ADORE having had Prof Simpson for both 1101 and 1102 this semester. Is he sometimes ridiculously easy? YES, but we are college students and having a class that is more laid back and talks about real, pertinent natural science issues in the world today rather than facts, facts, facts has been great!

Despite what others have negatively said about this professor, i found him to be extremely enlightening and easy as long as you pay attention and go to class. I took his 1101 and 1102 classes and got A's in both ....take the class with a close friend so yall can share one book that is used in both 1101 and 1102

Considering I went to a private high school with a huge emphasis on the natural sciences, I did not learn much from this class. Prof Simpson reads right off the slides and most of his test questions are either from the slides, book, or presentations given in class. However, I thought there was too much emphasis put on Disney's environmental work

Professor Simpson was a HOOT! Learned a great deal about enivornment science and birds. You will need to attend class and the his test are abit tricky and commonsense, so take good notes and go to class and you will get an "A". He is funny and comes to class ready to teach you something new and fun. You will laugh our loud in this class often.

Both 1101 and 1102. 90% of the test ?'s are very easy is you go to class and take notes. If you do this, you really don't even need the book. He doesn't post his notes/slides online. He is very laid back and nice, but I can't say I learned much. Easy A.

I got an A in this class, but he seems easier than he actually is. He can be very confusing about what to expect on test. He doesn't actually look at the labs though, and if you ask him about test questions he gives pretty fair hints. Just don't walk up there too much. Make sure you pay attention to the powerpoints and you don't need the book.

I have mixed feelings on the course. He is kind of confusing, and a lot of people that went everyday did worse than people that never came. The tests had a lot of opinion questions where a few of the options could be right, but you had to figure out which one he was talking about. He is a nice guy though.
