Professor Garnica is AWESOME. I took him Spring 2009 on a freakin' Saturday. I was pretty apprehensive before taking this class but trust me, Garnica made the class fun, interesting, and totally worth going in on a Saturday for. He's so funny! You have to put in some effort but he'll meet you halfway. I surprised myself and got an A in this class!

Totally funny prof. Gives funny examples which makes the learning fun. Has taught for at least 15 yrs so knows what he is doing. Try to get his last class b/c that's when he makes up his mind about things. Law is hard so you need to study for it, totally possible for an A (got one). Chances for extra credit. This professor is fun - but for more mature students who need to seriously be introducted to law, take a more serious professor. His class is a lot about games, like I did in kindergarten. This is college so I was disappointed. I felt his teaching method was condescending to college students. He would be a great kindergarten teacher.

Professor Garnica is probably one of the best professors I've had in Baruch yet. I started out not having even the slightest interest in law, but he completely switched that around. He is tremendously funny, and also extremely fair. Though the class does require you to stay on top of your work, he is there to guide you along.

Totally worth the Saturday class. He is hilarious and easy. He is unorganized and there is some work (2 midterms, final, current event, 3 homeworks, and a group presentation), but it is not hard and tons of extra credit.

HE IS VERY EASY. JUST FOLLOW THE SYLLABUS AND YOU WILL BE FINE. I got an A in his class because of his extra credits points which add up tremendous for your final grade. Make sure to come to class. 2 midterms, current events, hws, presentation. JUST FOLLOW INSTRUCTION ON THE SYLLABUS OR HE WILL DEDUCE POINTS FROM YOUR HWS, CURRENT EVENTS.

If you complain about Garnica, then something is wrong with you. I just took him during the summer and got an A! Law is hard, but Garnica makes it easy. His tests are just like his review sheets. Has to be the funniest prof at Baruch. I hated his class though - I have no interest in Law. However, since it is a requirement, I recommend for everyone to take his class, he only teaches Sat classes. His bonus games will help your grade if you're team is the best. Don't get lazy people in your team. Your team is the same for the entire semester.

He is extremely funny and makes the class easy. I have no interest in law and I should torture myself to start reading the textbook. I had a feeling I failed both midterms but he was an easy grader. He actually told me a lot of people had a feeling they failed a test, but the results were generally good. Do homework! Try to get extra points.

This is one of the best professors I've met in Baruch College! I hated law before, but in his class everything was interesting! He is funny, he strike jokes every 3 minutes! He gave you a lot of extra credits to improve your grade (the least you get by doing nothing is 3, I think). Still, you need too study for your exams with him. But it's easier.

Great Professor, very stern. Course has a heavy workload. Always able to keep you interested. He expects you to do all of the work and does surprise checks. You have to study very hard for his tests which are very detailed and demand very detailed answers. Work hard on the team project. This class requires 110%.

Midterms and Finals are not easy. Make sure you know how to answer essays in his format... otherwise you will fail for sure.

This is nothing like if you know the materials and you will get a decent grade. Very picky on Midterms and FInal. Other then that, homework and assignments are vey easy going. Answer his essay questions in his style, and make sure you do not ever miss important words in your definition or you will get penalized dreadfully.

This professor, is very fair, charismatic and funny. Sometimes his jokes fall flat, but sometimes he'll really crack you up. Decent human being. As for the class, some people did extremely well, some did horribly, I was one of the people who did poorly. HW's and Ex.Cred. help you A LOT, I failed my first 2 tests and bot a B-. Take him, but STUDY.

His class has been the most enjoyable class i have ever taken. He understands his students very well. You have to work hard as this is not an easy subject. Really cool guy. Funny. Talks too much sometimes though. His extra credits and HW's help a LOT. trust me, i failed every single one of his exams, got a C on his final and still got a B-. You'd better come with your "A" game, this course is no joke. You must be serious about learning b/c Garnica not only prepares you to study law, but there are many day-to-day issues you will deal with and learning these terms will help you. It is a hard class but Prof. Garnica makes the content much easier to understand. The midterm was a bit killer but the quizzes and the group activities really do help for the final and your grade (lots of extra credit given).

Hard reading. He gives very nice notes and 90% of his tests are based on his notes. Make sure that you are on time. No lateness is tolerated. Lots of extra credits. You have to get used to his ways, but after all he is great and does his best to help students, including selling your book after the class is over to his next students. Got an A.

He is THE BEST law professor ever! Not only are his exams pretty much based on his notes only, but he makes law ten times easier to understand. All my friends were struggling with this course when they had other professors. Even though I did have to study, getting that A in such a challenging course was definitely worth it! MUST take!

Grades us on attendance, online quiz/HW, a case study, 2 midterms, and 1 final. Makes law VERY easy to understand but law in general has way too many terms to memorize. Easy grading and also gives us crosswords/jeopardy to gain extra credits. He's pretty funny too.

If all the professors at Baruch could be like him, then I would love to go to school everyday. He always make the lecture so interesting, so you will really listen to him. I learned a lot in his class. However, this is not a easy class, you must study and read all the chapters in order to do well. You should do all your h.w. as well.

He is amazing! I used to think law is boring, now I want to take more law classes. There are three exams. The exam itself is not easy, you have to study for it but you will learn real stuff. The professor gives lots of extra credit, I believe I get over 10% toward the final grade. I did not do very well in the first two exams, but I get an A.

Prof. Gabriel Garnica is one of the best professors out there. I took LAW 1101 and got an 'A'. During the short semester, he did cover a lot. One of the many qualities is his way of making the topics interesting by examples. He has the extra credit system that helps to get an 'A' if you're attentive. Take him without hesitation. He is the BEST!

Do yourself a favor and take him. Class overall was not hard for me. Suggest you to make a flashcards since its the only way to learn all those terms. His examples are very helpful and if you will take very good notes, you will rarely use a book. Some extra credit assignments and time and you will get an A.

Unbelievable professor. Took in the Spring 2012 semester, and now on my way to law school, I see how invaluable this class was. Introduced me to terms I use in my law firm on a regular basis, and test formats prepare you for the bar exam. Considerate, funny, and makes law interesting. Lectures just breeze by. I took it during the summer session, which is easier than usual. Two mid-terms, one final, one group presentation, and one homework. He provided notes for review. He also reviewed before each exam. Before the final, he even gave hints for each, yes each, questions. Extra credits as well. All in all, easy A.

Good prof, a lot of terms to memorize. Which doesn't make sense coz u will forget them anyways. It might not be good for u if the class avrg is good. Without a doubt, the best professor at Baruch. Not because you will receive an easy A . But rather the professor is able to communicate a rather uninteresting topics in a funny and entertaining manner. Prof. G is the funniest professor I have ever met. Dude is extremely knowledgeable, gives great realistic examples and has a very clear grading criteria. One homework, two midterms, a final, and group project! Follow his guidelines and you'll do fine. He only teaches weekends though, but it definitely worth the commute.

Took him for summer course. Class is 3 exams and a final. Gives tons of extra credit both on homework, tests, and presentations. Very good reviews before every test. He says he is a lot more strict during regular semester. I believe him, he's big on following directions. If you can get him for summer or winter, take him.

He teaches Saturday classes and normally I'd hate the class because it's a Saturday but the prof makes it bearable. Only need text book for one hw, the rest of the notes are given in class. Great professor, somewhat funny. Only one homework through out the course. He teaches by powerpoint and goes somewhat fast, but it's still understandable if you do some independent study. There's lots of extra credit (near end of course, work as a group for extra credit) hence the fast powerpoints. Tests based on powerpoints.

If you can stand taking a weekend class TAKE HIS CLASS. He tells you exactly what you need to know for every exam. Only thing that he could do to make it easier is give you the exact question lol. Every class was like a comedy show, he is hilarious, not too painful to spend Saturday afternoon. The material is not easy to learn (law in general is not easy), but he explains it well. Know the terminology and you should be good to go. I would certainly take him again!

Professor Garnica is a really awesome guy! His course in general is real easy if you're looking for an easy A ! Depending what time of the school year, his class could be either really easy or decent. I think in the regular semester, he would go more in depth with all his terminology within LAW, but through the summer class, he's way easier!

To do well show up to every class, pay attention/take notes, study outside class. A lot of memorization. Garnica is hilarious though and also very nice.

Take Garnica if you want an enthusiastic professor who tries to make definitions easier to remember with humor & exaggerated examples -- this is why many like him, b/c it's law and it's a lot of memorization. I got an A by writing every definition on index cards and memorizing (helps with everything), although I didn't listen all the time.

Half of his lectures are funny side stories which are irrelevant to the lesson. You're gonna enjoy his law class tho. make sure to read the book in addition to his notes to better understand the concept. Be mindful of spelling. He is very strict about it which make sense coz it's law. Extra credit games helped a lot of students in our class

Probably one of the best teacher Ive had at Baruch. Took his Saturday class which is 3 hours long, but he always let us out early. His test are a bit hard, but always provided us with a review sheet. Definitely would recommend to take him if you dont mind going to school in Saturdays.

Uses analogies to make law fun and easy to understand. You can just show up to class and chill, study the notes and topics he says will be on the exam and you will get an A. No textbook required at all, save some $$. At the end of the semester, he has 3 classes of extra credit which really boosts your grade.

Must Take. By far the best professor I've taken at Baruch, cares about his students, makes everything clear. He's supper funny! Speaks very good Spanish too. At the end of the semester he made us play games for extra points on the final average, while you also prepare for the final, which is departmental for the Friday class, I got like 5 credits!

Professor Garnica is one of the funniest professor I've ever met, and he teaches the material very well. Best prof in law department, and gives out extra credits.

Gives a lot of extra credit. Gives practice questions before exams and gives you the all the notes in the beginning on the semester. Easy A, but you do have to pay attention in class and study the terms to understand the concepts.

Hands down one of my favorite professors I've had in college thus far. It's never easy to learn about law at 8am, but prof G made me look forward to coming to this class. All you have to do is listen to what he's telling you in class and DO NOT cheat. He encourages students so much to pass that you'd have to be a donkey to fail this class. 10/10.

To be honest, it was a challenging class for me but I learned so much from him, his lecture was really interesting, he does grade a little hard, but he is very generous and kind with extra credit. I wasn't satisfied with my midterm grades I got a 15/20 and 16/20. But, I tried my best, his lectures are great I share it with my parents.

I took Professor Garnica's LAW 1101 as a summer online course, and I loved his class. His lectures were really funny and covered exactly what I looked forward to learning. He also gives very clear guidelines as to what he expects from his students, and it's not hard to do well. Take the course, and you'll have a lot of fun and learn a lot.

I'll start by saying that he is a good person, he has good intentions, but he may come off as cocky sometimes, but he isn't really. He gave us extra credit as much as he COULD because I had the summer session so everything was condensed into a month. If you have to take law in the summer, he's your guy.

I got to admit that business law was extremely hard for me. I believe you can have the best shot with Garnica since he gaves so much extra credit. He explains the laws and legal questions the best as he can. There's literally no way you can get a C unless you got caught cheating or don't follow what he says. Only take this in winter or summer.

Participation is a big part of the grade and attendance is the easiest way to get that grade up. He doesn't give a lot of assignments, and they aren't hard if you follow instructions. He also give extra credit at the end of the semester. Finals was departmental this semester but it wasn't hard b/c his review gave you all the information you needed.

He expects you to do the work, including reading the slides. Read the syllabus! Participation is key to passing the class. The midterm is hard, but you can definitely study and review the terms to pass; he gives you the terms to study. You can't get a letter grade less than a B. Be accountable and do the work by the deadlines. Lots of extra credit!

I elected to take the four week summer course,I can confidently say that this professor is fair and also comical. His ability to make jokes throughout class helps me to stay involved with the subject at hand without trying. Prof G gives his students all the tools and resources to pass this challenging course. it's essential to read, understand the law, participate in lectures and get the generous extra credit. Take the online summer session. The law is difficult but Prof is extremely knowledgeable. Put in the work and read the slides, no textbook needed. 2 thumbs up!

Professor Garnica's BUSLAW1101 class was a great experience. He makes the lectures engaging and provides all the tools to succeed, like extra credit opportunities. While challenging, the course is manageable with diligent studying - unstuckstudy ai was a helpful supplement alongside the class materials.

One of the best professors I've ever taken. He really cares about the students passing his class. He tells you everything you need to study and how to do it. He recaps lectures so often that you can't help but understand more every time. He goes off topic sometimes, but only to teach everyone how be more sociable and successful in life.

One of the best proffesor's I ever had so far. Not a tough grader, not a lot of homework. His lectures mixed with a lot of jokes(I filled like every friday I had stand up in class :) ), always 2-3 brakes for 10 minutes. Attendance really matters, but if you're not missing more than 3 class, taking notes and participate and you for sure gonna get A.

Professor Gabriel Garnica was a great professor. I was able to get an A in his class. His lectures are very heavy, and he often goes off track. The plus side is that he does give 2-3 breaks, 10-15 mins each. Nonetheless, I was able to get a good grade by following the outline I created as per his instructions. Be sure to take notes off the slides!!

Made the class engaging and I felt like I learned a lot from him. He uses a lot of funny examples and gives students many chances for extra credit. He emphasizes understanding the concepts and not just memorizing the terms. As long as you attend class and study the lectures, it's impossible to fail. I would retake him.

He's an amazing professor online, he likes things to be easy and simple. What ever he teaches on the slides is what you will be tested on. Nothing more. Professor Garnica's lectures are online but he explains everything clearly and is easy to follow if you're paying attention. If you don't stay focused though you might get lost. There's not much homework but the midterm and final are writing-intensive. If you have questions he's happy to help, just be as clear and specific as possible when asking.

I took Professor Garnicas Business Law class in the fall semester of 2024, and I can honestly say it was one of my favorite classes I have taken EVER. The way he can use analogies to explain concepts while mixing in humor to make the class more engaging. If you are choosing between professors for this class, definitely go with Professor Garnica.

Good professor, you have group assignments every 2-3 weeks, online midterm, and in-person final with a cheat sheet. He keeps the content pretty simple with easy to follow examples and slides and you only need 2-3 sentences for each exam/assignment answer. He could get irritated and yap about attendance and random stuff but other then that he's cool

Best law professor in Baruch. Everyone else took departmental final while we didn't. Online midterm. No homework. All assignments are group work. Don't let the 3 hours on a Saturday scare you, he lets you leave early everyday and gives breaks. Funny guy and very experienced. Made the class enjoyable and funny.

This guy is amazing, he only teaches what he plans to test you on for midterm and final. He does group work often to encourage us to work with each other and does a lot of extra credit. The lectures were extremely entertaining and engaging. The content is delivered very concisely and he provides plenty of practice so that you can get used to the type of questions on exams. He also gives a lot of extra credit so as long as you put in the effort you'll do well.

The easiest A of your life. I feel like it's physically impossible to fail this man's class -- I wasn't really paying attention during most of his lectures, but his slideshows/material are so simple, and he offers a ton (and I mean a TON, just ludicrous amounts. I'm talking like six full points) of extra credit. Physically impossible to fail this.

Balancing full-time work while taking this class was no small task, but this professor made the experience not only manageable. His lectures held my attention completely. I hold the deepest respect for his gift as an educator. He teaches with purpose. We actually had a fun class!!!

He's pretty funny and uses a lot of examples/stories to engage students during online lectures. Also lenient on grading and provides a lot of EC. He specifically tells you what you need to study for final/midterms which is huge in law. Would recommend him.

He's a good professor definitely experienced makes class fun and clearly lines out what he expects and gives tons of extra credit. He expects you to work hard. However sometimes does shift blame towards the class over things he should control. He teaches exactly how it will be on his tests. All and all a good professor. Highly recommend taking him.
