He's a great professor. He's very knowledgeable about Geography. There is three tests and the final and he is more than willing to help students understand the topics that are tested.
He is a very good teacher. If you don't show up to class, it'll bite you in the butt. But if you go to class, tests are easy. He's available, and he makes really dorky jokes. You can tell he's got a passion for GEO.
Easy A if you read the book, print off the lecture notes, take notes in class, and study for the tests.
Awesome professor, is willing to answer any questions you may have, and is very helpful and flexible. He really helped me out when I was struggling with this class, and I would recommend him to anyone.
This guy was freakin awesome. Absolutely loved going to class. His jokes are hilarious. The guy is really helpful when you ask and cares about the class / you learning. I went to class and took minimal notes, looked over them once, and got A's. Tests are the only real grade.
Dr. Judkins made it really interesting. He's funny and goes out of his way to help students. There are 4 tests including the final, couple exercises and videos. You get to print out the powerpoint notes before coming to class, and he answers emails promptly. Would take another class with him again but unfortunately geography isn't my major:(
Nice guy, pretty helpful. But the class was definitely not what I expected out of a online introductory summer course
All I can say is; this is a great teacher. He's knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches. He will meet with you if you're struggling. He's very helpful, and has good lectures. He's funny and he makes the class interesting!!!
Dr. Judkins is an EXCELLENT instructor. He will help you if you ask and the class is really easy - You just have to go. Tests are simple and he's also easy on the eyes :)
I took this class online. He is a good teacher. 5 Question chapter tests and 3 exams plus final. I enjoyed learning about physical geography.
While this class is not particulary my favorite and the tests are pretty difficult, this professor is a good teacher. He makes class somewhat interesting by throwing in his little jokes and is very helpful outside the classroom with improving your grade!
he is very helpful and responsible. H e would answer any question you ask. and lecture is fun too!
Great Professor! You learn a lot! Class is interesting and he is very helpful. He also uses great example. Possibly one of the best Geography Professors. His exams are somewhat difficult, but if you study and go seek help during his office hours you will definitely pass.
Very helpful teacher, so interesting! I learned a lot from his class, this is not my major but I still got a lot out of it. One of the best proffessors! I recommend going to his office hours if you need help, he is willing to get you an A, if you work hard! Would take him again!
Great professor who loves his job. Tests can sometimes be tricky but he gives you all the information you need to succeed.
Awesome instructor, very passionate about the subject. The powerpoints are posted online and there is a study guide with every exam. The course is easy if you attend class and follow along with his discussions. I used the book frequently for clarification of things I didn't understand, but you can probably get by with out it.
Great professor! He is really into what he teaches. He does lectures and you have to take notes but he puts them online. Have 3 exams and the final. They're easy if you study. He's funny too. Overall, great class.
Great prof. Very intelligent in geography. Best teacher I've had so far
Professor Judkins is amazing! He explains things well and if you still do not get it he has great office hours. My only advice is...go to class. It helps!
This guys is awesome. I took him online and in a classroom. The lab is really easy and you get to do them over until you get them right. You have to study for the tests in order to get a good grade, but he gives you a study guide for everyone. Funny guy, good class.
I definitely recommend Dr. Judkins. Having no homework is great! His lectures are to the point and he gives you hints on what's going to be on the test during his lectures. He gives really good analogies to remember the material. Before this class, I was dreading taking Geography but Dr. Judkins' class is great.
Very good teacher, no homework 4 tests through the semester, lectures take the whole hour and 30 minutes. All in all though a good class with a good teacher. no lab required either so that was easy
Easiest mid-semester course. 13 5 question quizzes, 3 exams, and a written final. Listen to his presentations and you will succeed, reading the book is not even necessary. Very easy, very helpful, and quick to email back which is a necessary quality for an online class.
Dr. Judkins was a great professor. I had little interest in the topic as I was required to take it. However, I finished the class learning a lot and appreciating our environment much more. He is very organized, clear with his expectations, and presents the material in an easy to understand format. I also recommend taking his lab.
Definitely the best professor I've had so far. His class consists only four tests and no homework. His lectures are extremely helpful and provides great examples. He provides the powerpoint from class online & even gives a study guide for the test. You actually learn in that class and it isn't too hard to get an A. More class should be like his.
This is a great online alternative to the core science w/a lab requirement. Judkins is very knowledgeable about the subject and quickly answers students' questions regarding lab exercises. His prompts videos make it very clear how to successfully complete the lab with at least a B or higher.
His class is interesting and easy. If you have any questions, you can just make an appointment with him, and he will answer them.
This was my first online course and it was set up very easy to follow for the semester. Just make sure you dedicate a few hours each week to the lab and review the notes before you take the quizzes. Him and his TAs reply really fast with answers. Discussion boards are really helpful so check there every week. Final 6 short essays. No final for lab
This class was really easy online. How to do the lab was explained in a video which you only need to watch when you're doing the certain question for the lab. He gets back to your emails fast. Lab takes about 2-3 hours a week to finish, but they're easy. Lab ends about 2-3 weeks before the semester ends. No final.
It was my first online course and was amazing. Make sure you watch his online lectures and print out his notes. There are quizzes that are multiple choice 5 questions. Then three exams 50 questions multiple choice. The final is 6 short essay questions. Its really easy his online lectures are key to getting a good grade. reading the text could help
My first online class and I really enjoyed it. The lectures are all online and they're super easy to follow along with. I even became quite interested in the class. Great class and an easy A if you follow along and stay on track.
The instructor is helpful. All things are very clear.
I took this class during the summer. Each week covers about 4(+-) chapters, each containing 2-4 videos of about 22 minutes each, with an exam at the end of each week. You have to take notes--these are essential. The final is essay which is cool. It's 'easyish', but the work load is not.
Very in depth class. I like that he delves more into the higher level class material if asked. Very open to talking about things, but HATES polar bears. Don't bring them up. Or do. Fun, interesting, and relevant 100-level science class.
Best Professor ever! :) Awesome class!! Have fun!! :D
Took the class online last year, easy a. Took the lab now. Lab was a little difficult. If you want direct help ask 1 or 2 days after the lab is posted he will have a TA help you. Graded easily on last assignment to bring grades up. As long as you read and turn everything in (no late assignments) you will get an a.
Judkins is one of the more favored of my professors I have taken, he is extremely funny and entertaining. Has random participation days in which he takes attendance. He is straight forward with what to expect on the exams, so show up to class, pay attention and do the study outline for exams and you are good to go.
Took his online GEOG 103 mid semester and it was a very easy A. Would take him online again if I needed more science courses, but I don't!
Video tips and hints for every lab were very helpful. Professor and TA response to questions was quick. Wasn't really interested in the subject but learned a lot and actually enjoyed it.
Easy online lab, watch the videos at the beginning of the labs they really help. And the assignments are simple just a little tedious.
10 page research paper. 3 tests that are all short answer. He is a very funny guy, but this class was no joke. No pre req for the class but if you don't know much about Geology this is not the class for you. I am not great at science I had the worst time in this class. ONLY TAKE IF YOU ARE GOOD WITH GEOLOGY.
I took this class online over the summer. It was a lot of reading. The quizzes were semi hard but you have to read or watch the videos.
This class was easy if you put the time to read and take notes for all the labs. Labs were average but if you needed help you posted on the group discussion.
I'm not a fan of subject, but he makes it work. He tries to relate every day things to the material. The test is everything learned in class and the readings he puts up on WebCampus so study study study. Overall, he's a pretty funny guy and he's kind of cute ;)
I'm not a fan of subject, but he makes it work. He tries to relate every day things to the material. The test is everything learned in class and the readings he puts up on WebCampus so study study study. Overall, he's a pretty funny guy and he's kind of cute ;). Try to pay attention to when he says "you'll need this for the test". not on powerpoint
Professor Judkins is an awesome professor! He does a good job making the class interesting and he's clear about what to expect on the test. If you review the study outline, the tests are pretty straightforward. I have learned a lot in this class so far and enjoy learning about geography more than I thought I would.
Guy, in terms of best science class for your General requirements, take this class! Fair grader and is more than fair when grading assignments. Take this professor!
One of the worst professors I have ever taken. The lab contained information that was often irrelevant to what the questions asked for. Whenever someone would ask him to clarify on instructions, he would simply reply with "read the instructions." He is one of the most unhelpful professors I have ever encountered.
He's a really nice guy and he gives a study guide for each exam which makes studying much easier. For environmental he required a paper that was due at the end of the semester which you have to do with a partner if you're a geoscience major. The paper really wasn't bad. He also didn't have a comprehensive final exam.
Dr. Judkins made each class interesting. Sense of humor makes class more interesting. Tests are based off of his PowerPoints (which are available online). He gives a study guide before each test, if you fill it out using the online notes, you will definitely ace the test.
Gabriel is a great teacher. He makes everything as simple as it could possibly be and is always there to help you. His lectures are funny and not too boring. There's never any class work or projects, just some tests. As long as you study for an hour or so you'll pass the tests. Final is super easy, he gives you half of the questions before.
Be prepared for the group project at Geosymposium and be prepared for long nights doing the labs. They can take up to 5 hours. The class was great, and I learned a lot, but there was a lot of technical information, and felt more like a computer programming class. Be prepared to spend a fair amount of time on the class and pay attention to the lists
It was a very easy lab class just time consuming... be ready to spend 5 hours for 1 lab.
Dr. Judkins is a great professor who understands that not everyone is interested in this subject. He gives great analogies and is very clear about what will be on the test. Study hard and you'll do just fine.
Took him for my lab credit. Labs were really boring and time consuming. The only good thing about this class was that the concepts were simple and the lab ended over 3 weeks before the semester ended. No final, just this one page essay at the end you need to write, but it was super easy. Take him - don't think you'll find someone easier! :)
He is not helpful at all. When I emailed him about the learning modules, he "answered" in a rude and snippy way. The course is pure busy work. Try to avoid him. One of the worst online classes I ever took. Has an odd grading system and most quiz answers are right-ins, or drawing based, so your grade will be decided by the grader, not correctness.
Im not even done with this class for the semester and I can already rate him as terrible. I have asked many questions and gotten a "read the directions" as my answer. If you have a problem with Webcampus don't expect him to help. I asked him if he could see my submission and he told me to talk to web maintenance. very rude, and not helpful at all.
No textbook, weekly labs. Labs were fairly easy, some questions I didn't understand but with the Hints videos and google it is easy. I spent maybe 2 hours every week to complete the labs, so great for tight schedules
Probably my favorite professor. He only wants his students to succeed and he gives you study guides for each test which are 100% helpful. If you actually study this class should be easy. Make sure you go to every lecture because he tells you specific things that will be on the tests. You don't really need the book, all lectures posted. + he's cute
great professor, and makes geology worth it. This class was very interesting throughout the semester. Assignments were manageable and do not procrastinate on them. He is there to help. show the will and you will get the grade you want. Will take again
Study guides should ensure an A on tests. However, if your strong point is not definitions/essay questions, maybe skip this class. There is also a 10 page paper that must be done with a partner. He gives great lectures and encourages class discussions. Overall, it's an easy class and the professor gives you everything needed to succeed.
Dr. Judkins is an alright professor. Tells you to write something even if its is wrong and you will get some points on exams, but never really witnessed this. Class was in-depth and well prepared. Would have liked to see more on water in the material.
Professor Judkins is passionate about geography and it shows through his lectures. Lectures can get boring at times but 8/10 the content is intriguing. There are 4 exams, 50 questions each, the last 1 has a few cumulative short essay questions. There is a lot of material, pay attention and take good notes. He also gives points for participation.
GEO100 is an easy class. Although class isn't mandatory, it is really important that you go because Professor Judkins gives ample opportunities for extra credit. If you don't go however, he posts every lecture and detailed study guide online. Easy class if you do the study guides.
Super easy class. 3 tests throughout the semester with a final at the end. Releases study guides before the tests so just study before. Really easy and the lab was pretty easy too.
Great class to take if youre looking for an easy non-lab science credit. Lectures are very interesting and easy to understand. Theres only 3 tests and a cumulative final, so make sure to study beforehand. As long as you go to class, take notes, and follow his reviews for the tests, it should be an easy A. Gives some opportunities for extra credit
Dr. Judkins is a pretty easy-going guy. He does give long lectures (that sometimes are boring), but as long as you attend class you should do fine. Sometimes, he goes to fast during lectures, but he does post his slides online. He also gives out extra credit. Do the study guides and you will be fine.
I had Dr. Judkins for my online Geography 103 class, and I couldn've been more pleased. This was the first online course I'd ever taken; I was a bit anxious and unsure of what to expect, but I was thoroughly impressed by Dr. Judkins' wonderful organizational skills and attentiveness. The web-based lectures are sensational, and I learned a lot!
This online class is harder than any other I have taken. Make sure to carefully read the chapters and watch the video lectures. Quizzes are easy 5 questions each/30min 13 in total. There are 4 exams 60 questions each/2h limit. They have some questions from the quizzes but are overall hard and really in depth. No extra credit. Easy homework.
Online class is made up of quizzes, exams, and exercises. Given PLENTY of time to complete work and can work ahead. Be aware now, you WILL have to watch the lectures and read the textbook. This is not a class where all the answers are on quizlet. It's tough unless you really put in the effort. Great info tho and lectures are fun!
Attending the lectures is something you have to do. There is an ample amount of participation points, exam questions, and extra credit given during this time. It is textbook heavy where you have to read the book in order to understand most of the lecture spoken about. Sometimes the lectures can be boring, but he throws in a couple of jokes/stories.
I took this online mid-semester class and it was very straight forward; read the chapter, watch the video lectures, and you'll pass.
Professor Judkins very nice and knows what hes talking about. It is lecture heavy with powerpoints and study guide posted online. There is a textbook, but he encourages studying off his lectures than the textbook. Its just there for more information. There is a lot of material covered in this class in a short amount of time, making it challenging
This class is easy if you put the work into it, I had to study a lot just because geography isn't something I find interesting. I used a lot of flash cards so that helps. Also, it is important to mention that all of the tests consists of definitions, short answers, and essay questions. There is no final, just a group paper. Awesome professor!
He is a great professor! I hated the topic of the class at the start of the semester but he made it applicable and interesting. He gives a study guide for the exam. You also have to write a 10 pg. paper and if you do well on the first draft you don't have to turn in a final draft. Make flashcards, it will help with the exams. A real gem at UNLV!
Dr. Judkins is an amazing professor, I usually think geography is boring but I really enjoy coming to his class. He gives me very chill dad vibes (plus dad jokes!!) and he has a relaxing voice lol. Test wise, he'll tell you during class most of the questions that will be on the exams so as long as you're paying attention it's not too difficult.
This class was extremely boring, Professor is chill but the content of the lectures put me to sleep. Wish he would throw in more jokes while lecturing
Dr. Judkins was an awesome professor. His powerpoints are face value are a bore, however the way he lectures truly makes you understand the information. He is lively and interacts with the class with jokes, anecdotes. He would also give extra credit on each test. if you dont understand Judkins is open for you to talk to him and inviting.
Judkins clearly loves what he teaches. His lectures are tough to get through, but he really does explain the topics in good detail. Yeah, you might be able to skip lecture, but being in lecture really allows you to understand what the heck is going on. Show up to class(!), read, and you'll be alright for his tests - the only thing in the gradebook.
Dr. Judkins is a good professor who really knows what he is teaching. He posts the slides and study guides on his canvas, but he does also grade on participation on certain days. He does three tests and five homework assignments. As long as you go to the lectures, pay attention, study the study guide, and do the 5 simple assignments, you will pass.
This is the only prof I had this semester that easily transitioned to online classes. His lectures are straightforward and provides all the detail needed for his tests. He's very nice and willing to meet during office hours to further explain anything you missed or just want to discuss further. Very professional and knowledgeable.
Attendance isn't mandatory and he posts the power points on canvas but his lectures are the main source for his tests. There is no other assignments for the class, it is just the scores from the unit tests. He is very caring for his students so if you are ever struggling, meeting with him helps a lot.
He lectures every class for the entire time and it is a lot of information to grasp. You don't necessarily need to go to class or read the book because he posts all the power points online, but during lectures he often says specific questions that will be on the exam, which helps. This class was much easier when we switched to online than in person
Professor Judkins is a great teacher. He is very clear on what he expects from you. Do not skip class, he will point out what parts of the lecture you should or should not worry about for exams. There is a 10-page paper you will have to work on with a partner, so take this class with someone you can trust.
You'll hear lots of complaining from students who are unable to actually read the course modules. When you actually manage to set aside an hour or so to do homework that you are assigned and read the provided course content, which has ALL the answers to the quizzes, the class is a very easy A and does not take up more than an hour of your week.
14 chapters, 3 exercises, 14 quizzes, 4 exams (4 chapters in 1 exam, AKA no cumulative midterm or final). Write notes from the video lectures or ppt slides and you should pass you can buy the textbook if you want but 98% of the notes are in his lectures and slides. Everything is due by Sunday 11:59 p
Dr. Judkins has created a very efficient and easy course for GEOL 100. Every Sunday, there is a quiz about those week's lectures that you must go through on your own. There are 4 exams throughout the semester (which ask questions from all versions of the quiz) and 3 exercises that help you practice what you learned.
this class is pretty easy, split into 4 sections with an exam for each section, there are 3 exercise activities, and weekly 5 question quizzes. I didn't use the textbook at all. Easy grader and grades pretty fast.
He is super caring about his students and genuinely wants them to succeed. If you have questions or concerns he is good at providing help & addressing them The exams are not very difficult if you take the time to get to class. His study guides are detailed and will provide you with important details to study. Overall the class was super fun
The online lab is like skimming over the material for 103. It's not hard but you can get burnt out on material, spread the work out over the week. He does care about his students and gives help to those that ask, but the notes are pretty straightforward and the quizzes aren't hard. Not the worst choice.
Professor Judkins was prepared for the transition into the remote environment. He assigns weekly lectures and quizzes. Everything you need to know is in his lectures and in the book. If you take good notes you should be good on his tests!
Awesome professor. Took him for Geog 103 as well. Well prepared. Smart guy. Updates the class often. Caring. Available during office hours. Will be taking him for Geog 335 lets go
Prof. Judkins has great lectures even though they can be very long sometimes. This class is definitely an easy A as there are weekly quizzes that are just 5 questions. Tests are not too hard and there are only 3 of them and then a final which includes essay questions. Overall, good teacher and class.
This class was supposed to be in person but it got switched to online. All lectures were through prerecorded videos and was super organized. 3 exams + 1 final essay exam. Other than that, the only assignments were quizzes. Definitely an easy and straightforward class but dont slack off. He provides transcripts for all his lectures!! Use them!!
I took Professor Judkins class during covid so everything was online. Lecture heavy and make sure to take notes. I took them word for word from his posted lectures. There's 3 exams and 5 exercises. If you do the lectures and take notes it's easy. Takes a little thought and outside research but besides that easy. No discussions btw. Didn't use book
Easy class just go through the power points. It's asynchronous so you can work at your own pace! Take the class if you need the credit it should be an easy A if you do the work.
watch the lectures. they r kinda long but he posted notes to help follow along. assignments were very straightforward. open book/notes for tests/quizzes. book isnt necessarily mandatory but i highly recommend it. good class! easy A if you put in some effort.
This wasn't an easy lab class. However, he did a great job organizing the material and making it easy to comprehend. The hints video was really helpful and the labs actually help you to learn the material. Class works really well when taken with the lecture class. Graded on about 9 labs with various online activities and one policy letter.
youtube lectures, open note quizzes and tests via canvas, 3 exams, final essay questions. standard class not too hard during covid-19 at least
Easy online lab. A lot of work but get a head start at the start of the week and youll be fine!
Prof. Judkins was amazing. Long lectures, but he is really passionate about what he is teaching. He is very personable and accessible. The class is actually really interesting, he tries to use different forms to get the information across other than just lectures (youtube videos, demonstrations, etc.). Didn't use textbook at all. Would recommend.
Dr. Judkins is a great professor. His grading is fair. If you follow the provided lectures he provides, then you have no reason to fail any of his quizzes. The course was straight to the point which made it easier to learn a lot of useful information. A few of his assignments require a typed response for an answer, but he is very understanding.
Judkins was a very decent teacher. Pretty much just big exams every few weeks and then a very nice final. After each test, talking to him would be very useful to get tips and more to prep for the next exam and help on the last exam.
Professor Judkins course is structured very well, and it is quite clear what you need to do for a good grade. His lectures cover everything you need to know and they are straightforward. The quizzes are pretty easy, as are the tests with a little preparation. The final is written and can be worked on throughout the year. Its not bad at all.
Professor Judkins is a great lecturer and can explain the reading material very well in class -- may not have to purchase the textbook if you attend the lectures. He also cares about how well his students are doing, especially during the end of the semester when the exams get harder. Can always talk to him after class!
His lectures are interesting even though I don't like geography. The course assignments are consistent with lectures and module quizzes weekly. If you ever message/email him he will respond promptly. You can buy the textbook but to be honest it wasn't needed. His lectures and the occasional google search will get you through the semester just fine!
This class is pretty easy, although the lectures and PowerPoint notes are really long. Aside from that, the exams and homework quizzes reflect what's in the lectures and notes. Also, Professor Judkins reminds you to turn in the assignments and finish the exams before the deadline (all hw for a unit and the corresponding exam are due the same day).
The class was easy, however the tests were needlessly difficult, many questions were phrased weirdly that would make you miss them. The weekly homework did not take more than 30 minutes. I took the online version so I had no actual interaction with Judkins, so I cant speak to his personality. However his online lecutres sometimes drug on.
Very straightforward online and organized class. Pay attention to the lectures more for the weekly quizzes and test. Textbook chapter summaries are more helpful than reading the entire chapter. Overall, this class is easy to succeed in if you know how to work smarter and not harder tbh
The overall class wasn't too hard but it's important to go to the lectures and actually study outside of class or it could get really difficult to follow. The slides he makes are very helpful and all the information is included so you could really go the whole class without the book. He also gives attendance points that help your grade.
Overall, his class was not bad, but all grading relied on exams and participation points(being in class). Paying attention to lectures and studying out of class is essential in order to pass with a decent grade. Funny guy, and tries to make the lectures entertaining when he can, overall a good professor.
The best geography professor. Dr. Judkins is funny, caring and very helpful. His exams are all multiple choice and he also gives extra credit. I enjoyed every lecture!
He be toying with my future
Dr. Judkins is a super easygoing and funny professor. He's aware of his monotone lectures and tries his best to keep us engaged with jokes and participation opportunities. Attendance is mandatory and it's part of your grade. If you go during office hours he will help you immensely for upcoming exams (hint hint).
Prof. Judkins is clear with what he wants and the outline of this course: skim, watch (long) lectures, take quiz, next module. Though lectures are long, they are SUPER important as the exam will cover them down to a T. Watch the lecture, take the notes, and you will pass with flying colors. Easy course, just put in the work. Just take the course!
Dr. Judkins provides a massive amount of course, project, and career support. As a capstone class for the EES degree and overall involved course given the required GIS group research project, this class could have been a lot more challenging and difficult to navigate with a less involved professor. He'll make sure you succeed if you apply yourself.
Overall Prof Judkins is great, he knows his material. Yes it is a lot of lectures and lots of material to cover, but his tests are fair, and at least for this UD class his tests are written (not multiple choice). I have no concerns taking this professor again.
It's generally an easy class with some big projects. The lectures are pretty long and uninteresting and he himself is pretty monotone as well. Also, for the final group project, NO part of it is graded individually. If your group partners are slacking, then you'll get the grade they got. Tried arguing it and he did not care. Sad. ;(((
Professor Judkins is good but be prepared for a lot of lectures. Although attendance isn't mandatory it is helpful as he says certain things that will be on the exam. There are not many assignments and he does participation points on random class days so it is important to be there. It is a very test heavy course.
Upon reading previous reviews of this professor, I feel even worse than I did before. There were hw quizzes mentioned which he completely got rid of for this semester. The class is graded on 4 big exams with weird study outlines that leave out information. Don't understand how he expects students to succeed with no practice.
I loved this class and this teacher, super interesting content. I will say this was the most difficult class I took this semester. not just because of material but also the fact that the classes are just lectures with very little assignments. Very easy to zone out, and not many assignments to cushion the fall of a poor test grade.
The professor is very nice and caring. I just wish the course was less test heavy and had homework assignments to balance the grade scale a little more. Professor Judkins is a good teacher though, I always found his lectures to be interesting and insightful.
He genuinely cares for his students' success. Four exams and only a few assignments, so it's hard to bring up grades. I failed most of the exams, but it was because I didn't study or pay attention enough. Just pay attention to lectures and you will be fine. DO NOT buy the textbook. It is so useless.
Professor Judkins really cares about his student's success. Gave us many opportunities to improve our grades for the exams including test corrections. He truly wants us to understand the material and is very caring. I find some of his jokes quite funny too. The lecture may be long at times but definitely read ahead to make the class much easier.
Great proffessor. Very passionate and caring. Exams are difficult and lectures are heavy.
Overall great professor! Clear and organized lectures that explained concepts clearly. Lectures and exams were very content heavy. Overall required a lot of studying and the exams were difficult. During the lectures he would clearly state what was on the exams. Lectures not mandatory but very reccomended. Kind and wanted his students to succeed.
He is passionate about the material, and it really shows in his engaging lectures. The semester is graded solely on tests and extra credit, which keeps things simple. His tests are challenging but fair—well-aligned with the material he covers. He does a great job making complex content interesting and easy to understand. Overall, a great professor!
Very knowledgeable and passionate about his discipline. I would not recommend this class to those who struggle sitting through lectures. Not many opportunities outside of the 4 exams to improve your grade, so it is imperative that you read and study the textbook accordingly - ESPECIALLY if you intend on skipping lectures.
Dr. Judkins was a great professor tbh. His lectures are really heavy and require a lot of studying/reading. Quizlet won't work, so don't waste your time. trust me... i learned the hard way. i've always been an average student so this class really had me on my computer 24/7. But I enjoyed his class overall, he's a chill guy.
Judkins' class can be challenging, but his lecture slides and Unstuckstudy make studying a breeze. Attend classes, use the textbook, and you'll do well.
only 4 exams and like 3 assignments, so it's hard to bring up your grade. but just pay attention in the lectures cuz the exams come WORD FOR WORD from those. i bombed the exams cuz i did not pay attention all the time. but. the exams are super fair. and he's cool!!
I would say you don't need to use his textbook because it was just extra info, which doesn't help when you need to take the four exams. There are assignments here and there, but exams are worth a lot. I would go to lectures just to take notes with the study guide. Also, he says more things that aren't needed for the exam. But overall easy subject.
Good professor. Funny and makes the course interesting. Grades depend on four tests that are based on lecture (not really the textbook). He gave bullet points onto what you were going to be tested on and pointed out important facts remember during lecture. You get some extra credit if you are there on the random days he gives attendance points.
Cared a lot about what he was teaching and made a harder course easier to understand
I absolutely love this professor, but it is a tough class. You have to come to the lectures, take good notes, and study if you want a good grade. He does make the lectures entertaining and he is very passionate about his subject. The grade is based on four exams so if you're not a great test taker I wouldn't recommend.
Be prepared to take notes, Dr. Judkins lectures the entire class time. He provides exam outlines, the outlines include what is in each chapter that will be in the exams (USE IT!), listen to the lectures and follow the info in the slideshows. All you need is there. He gives lots of extra points through attendance and other assignments.
4 exams + extra points by attending class +few extra credit assignments. Always take notes! His exams are based off his slides rather than the textbook and provides very good study guides! He's also funny and it is noticeable that he is passionate of what he does and he wants YOU to succeed too! I would def take his class again (study ur notes!)
