Professor Lawson is such a great instructor! The class is super easy, all I did was study off of my lecture notes and I recieved an A. I didn't even buy the textbook. I would definetly take his class again in the future.

Professor Lawson is very helpful and let's you know what material he is going to test you on before a test, so you will know exactly what to focus on. He keeps the class interesting and gives extra credit . Recommended!

Going into this i was afraid due to the Statistic background, But Prof Lawson made it an enjoyable process. Having the book is great and being in class to hear lecture is as well. As long as you complete the research paper and do fairly well on the test you should do well in the class. He is very entertaining and is understandable to your needs!

This was a CR/NCR class. It was fairly easy book was not extremely necessary but a great resource to have due to its nature. If you missed a class you will get points deducted which you can receive a NCR. As long as you show up to the short 45min class and do the papers that are assigned you should do fine and receive the CR

This professor was hands down, one of the better professors I've had at this school. Not heavy on homework, lectures were clear and had no problem helping where lessons got a little tougher. His study guides were on point, and you can tell he wants his students to succeed. Awesome class

This is the second time I've taken this class. The first time, the teacher was attrocious. Gabriel made his classes completely enjoyable. He would break up the monotony of statistics with real life stories that involved comedy and real life lessons that I felt I could actually use. He's a great person, and he made it much easier to understand.

This was the second class I have taken with Professor Lawson. He's a great professor, funny, explains the course material well, and has great reviews before the exams.

Had the hardest test of the semester and the final as open book, open note. Had for most of the semester multiple test days (ie. take it on Tuesday, don't have to come in on Wednesday). Super flexible and a overall nice guy who even asked to be rated.

He really cares about your success and appreciates effort. He also tells you exactly what is going to be on the exam and there are no surprises.

Mr. Lawson is very knowledgeable about the material he covers. I did not get the book. He covered all the material that was covered on exams. He constantly related the material to his life and many classes started by discussing social issues to lighten the atmosphere. Yes, he is very attractive too so that was a major plus;)

Easiest. Class. Ever. The syllabus says attendance is part of your grade but he never takes attendance and actually said he doesn't care if students show up. No tests or anything, just 4 super short, easy papers.

He teaches using humor a lot of the time, which is both helpful and fun! There are lots of exams, but he makes sure the class is prepared and knows exactly what to study.

I took Professor Lawson for Psych 215/Behavioral Statistics, the class was amazing. He does a great job of explaining concepts and clarifying any questions, there is plenty of time for one on one help from him if you need it! The tests are very fair and straight from the text. ABSOLUTELY CHOOSE HIM AS YOUR PROFESSOR.

Professor Lawson is an awesome teacher. It was a pass/no pass class that was the easiest ive taken so far. He has all sorts of amazing career related advice to give us, especially those like me who is just getting started in the "real world'. His hilarious lectures seem like they can go on a tangent, yet it still sticks to the topic at hand.

Professor Lawson is by far one of my favorite teachers at Grossmont. Even though this was a one unit class, he really made the most out of it and each class was very entertaining. You write papers that are actually fun to write because he makes interesting prompts. I would recommend him to anyone! Great guy and very easy to talk to.

He is clear in his lectures, answers questions well, and cares about his students. The way he analyzes people is interesting and funny. I hated statistics but I was able to get through his class. He's pretty clear about what to expect. As long as you keep the lines of communication open with him, he will get you through the semester in one piece.

Overall just a great, positive guy. I've taken 3 classes with him. He's very accommodating and approachable. He responds to e-mails quickly, takes the time to clarify the material and make sure you will do well on each exam. Lectures are fun because the class is engaged and he uses anecdotes and other real-life examples to teach the material. 5/5!

I took Prof. Lawson for PSY 215, and what a great decision I made. Definitely read the text because the midterm questions comes straight from the text. Overall, Prof. Lawson is pretty hilarious. He tells stories while lecturing, and uses real life examples to understand the concepts. I definitely recommend him for PSY 215.

I think I went to class maybe 5 times in the whole semester and still passed. Yu only had to write 3 papers to pass. He's a super chill guy but talks about himself the entire time, which i guess means he's trying to connect the material.

This guy is a G. He knows his stuff, he is easy, and his class ar all tests (5 total and an optional final). Study and youll get an easy A. Also I wrote the WORST RESEARCH PAPER EVER and still got an A on it. However when studying use the book because his lectures may be entertaining (bring popcorn) but I found them lacking come test days. Enjoy!

Professor Lawson was very straightforward on what was going to be on exams, with a detailed study guide. Most of the exams were open book/ open notes. He makes class enjoyable and relatable. You really do need to read the book and do the hw to grasp the concepts, memorize the vocabulary and take detailed notes. Drops lowest exam and 50+ hw points.

I was initially nervous about having to take a Statistics class as Math has never been my strength, though Professor Lawson made the class so enjoyable and interesting. Hes very relatable, down to earth and is really funny! He makes learning Statistics as fun and doable as possible. I would highly recommend taking his class!

This class was quite enjoyable. The stories he shares are often related to whatever material we happen to be going over which makes learning the material entertaining. Anyone's input or shared thoughts were always acknowledged and somehow tied back to the lecture which was pretty neat too. Even the prompts were intriguing & helpful to write about.

Lawson was one of the best college professors Ive had! Math was never my strongest suit but he made it relatable. The exams are fair but not too crazy. You will never be bored. Makes lectures enjoyable with the material, energized, funny but gets the material through to the students. On students behalf make sure you read and consistently stay up to date, and dont fall behind. Ask questions when confused its easily fixable with the professors help.

Prof. Lawson was such a great teacher. I had him for behavioral statistics. Hes very engaged with his students during his labs and lectures! He doesnt really assign homework and if he does its pretty straight forward. Very friendly, understanding, and easy to talk to. The transition of in class to online class was a breeze with him due to covid!

this class was being taken in-person at the start of the semester but later moved online because of COVID. This class was very informative with the lectures, the only homework we got was a few essays that were rather spread apart, and he was pretty funny, so this is a great choice for other students.

No busy work is a big plus! You can not force feed information and I feel Mr. Lawson understands that if you do it often hinders instead of helps. He also does a great job at making the material relateable which is great for understanding the subject in depth. All in all my favorite this about him is he ability to connect on a human to human level.

Class is online so it's probably easier for most students. However, don't just rely on Google for everything, because some of the work is only found in the book. I took Lawson for Career Psychology. In this course he provides a better aspect in the break down from an Associated degree to a Doctorate; than a councilor has. I will be taking his statistics class in the spring, and he teaches many other subjects in psychology in many other campuses and is a very communicative teacher with quick responses.

I love the way he taught the class. We didn't have to meet through zoom or anything. If you need a teacher that just gives you the information and then you do the quizzes, he is the perf prof for you. All you do is read the slides and take the quizzes.

This semester was very stressful to me but prof. Lawson made it so much better. Out of all of my classes this one was the easiest. I had one assignment that I didnt due on the due date and he allowed me to submit it with full credit ! Hes a very helpful teacher 10/10 would recommend.

Professor Lawson is a very fair grader and the class was super easy. you basically just read the book chapter every week and then turned in the two page essays. there were only five assignments (one discussion, four essays) all semester long.

I had missed a quiz in week 12 and, during finals week, he let me make it up for full credit! Professor Lawson really wants you to succeed in his class.

Professor Lawson generally cares for his students. He is understanding as well as supportive! He is well respected and makes his self available whenever needed. Read the book, be thorough on essay's, and watch all of videos/power points. This class is not hard, as long as you apply yourself! He grades fairly and makes time to give valuable feedback

He is a great online teacher. You learn a lot but he gives very clear criteria and it allows you to really read and absorb the information, and he reinforces that in the assignments. You will read 1-2 Chapters Weekly, Watch small videos, discussion, quiz, and sometimes a second quiz but it is all doable if you read the chapters thoroughly. Great!

Take this professor if you have the chance to! Clear grading and assignments. If you read and watch the material weekly, you will pass this class and do great. Best psy professor I have had yet. I have never been that good at math classes so taking statistics did scare me. However, the Professor made it enjoyable to learn. He posts lectures and slides, and you do use a textbook so you get the information in different ways. You learn a lot, but it is not difficult as long as you read the textbook and his lectures or slides. 10/10 Professor

Whether or not you are good at math as long as you follow the textbook and especially his dedicated lectures to each chapter you will definitely be able to pass the class and even get an A if you review a decent bit. The math won't make you feel lost with the way it is explained by the the teacher. All in all a great class!

I took his summer course for psychology 120. He is amazing and really wants his students to succeed. I enjoyed his class so much that I just registered for his psychology 215 course that i need and I am not nervous at all especially because I am no good at math. Take him! You will not regret it at all!

Professor Lawson is an all-around great professor. I took his STATS online course. As someone who hates math, this class was easy to understand. You are given multiple opportunities s to excel on heavy-weighted assignments by memorizing vocabulary. Read the modules for vocab & watch the short yet insightful videos and you'll do great!

TAKE TAKE TAKE!! there's only 4 essays you have to do and they're all 2-3 pages long. but they're not hard whatsoever and if you just meet the prompt he'll give you full points. Definitely take! The course is very straightforward and helpful for psych majors. There's only 4 or 5 papers throughout the semester and they are quite simple, kind of like writing in a diary.

A decent amount of work for an intersession class, and great structure. Assignments were due on the same days of the week, which was a nice rhythm. The modules were also easy to follow along with, and there were always little jokes sprinkled here and there. If you're between psy215 and math160, I'd go for 215 with Lawson.

I initially started the class as a Psychology major, but walked out of it wanting to pursue Social Work due to how thorough the breakdowns of all the careers in Psychology are. I recall the class being very personal instead of "here's a textbook, relate whatever to this" essays.
