real unique professor doing well in the exam is based on how well you study

He is very cute, His jokes he tell us were funny. He is an easy teacher. If you do all his test you will at least get a "C"

Took him for intro, good, taking him for stats. We will see...from what I read form all the postings he isn't much help...now scared

he's cute. funny, entertaining. and you learn alot. All you need to do is pay attention to the lectures and you will pass. but if you want to get an "A" (like i did) do the studying. He gives some answers away before the test. I can't say enough! Definately recommended!

He makes it an easy course because of his every-day examples. Plus, watching him speak is dreamy. He knows his stuff. And he'll really cater to your needs if you show an interest in the curriculum.

Great professor! Teaches well and makes the class fun to learn, especially w/ the jokes and side stories. Trust me, you'll never be bored! Attendance is not mandatory, but at the beginning of each class he tells you exactly whats going to be on the exam. As long as you write it down, you don't really need the book and it'll be the easiest A ever!

I never rate my professor but this guy is worth it. Very down to earth and cool guy overall very understanding and he is very good at teaching he is one of those teachers that teaches because he wants to teach and not to receive a paycheck i did not buy the book but if i did i would have had A. He uses the book as support for his lectures. A+!

He connected personal examples to give a better understanding of certain terms and help us understand what we are learning. He's also hilarious, and that's always a plus!

Pros: Very clear with his lectures,not confusing - uses a day to day example that every one can relate. Makes every lecture entertaining and keeps you motivated -Helps you when ever you have a question or even your note taking or study techniques. He assign 2 extra credit essays(2 pg.) Tells you whats gnna be on the test. Take his Psyc class!

Honestly my best teacher all semester, when I needed help he would definitely stay after class and clear things up for me. He gives you opportunities to get your grade up., really funny teacher as well he reminds me of one of the cops from Superbad! Definitely recommend taking this professor for psychology!

The best class I have taken at this campus really helpful and explains everything with examples of everyday situations. Real clear to the point. I liked all the topics it really helped me understand the subject.

Professor Lawson has been fantastic and absolutely professional! This class was a HUGE pleasure to take!

Prof. Lawson is very charismatic and this extends onto his lectures. He is not too bothered by students arriving late to class, leaving early, or missing altogether. An alarm went off during class and he was extremely nice about it. It's definitely a nice change. Everything is based off the book and goes quickly so be sure to have it in advance.

Prof. Lawson is a good teacher. He explains lessons well and gives personal examplesexperiences to further explain lessonsmaterials; this helps a lot because you're able to relate a lot more to the teaching and it makes more sense. His test are tough, but he gives a good study guide for each test and extra credit assignments.

I took this class during the summer session, and it was well worth it! Your grade consists of 4 open book open note test, two 2-page papers, and a final ( which you may not have to take depending on your grades on all four tests). Professor Lawson is very lenient, many safety nets. I definitely recommend taking this course it's an easy A.

He reminds me of Lenard from The Big Bang Theory! I highly recommend Lawson, he's really chill, explains everything well. 5 tests & a final. If you have a good grade on the class & test u dont have to do the final. Minimal HW but doesnt check. Easy to pass the class, get the textbook if you want to learn from outside of class as well

Great Professor! The only way you will fail his class would be because you are not trying. He does great lectures with a great sense of humor. He's very caring and willing to help you out. I highly recommend him to all.

Great professor !!! He is really a cool teacher I mean some of the information giving to you is difficult but if you ask him for help he will be more than happy to help you out . Some of the test are open notes as well so make sure you buy the text book an copy his power point slides . Probably the best teacher to take for this subject !

I was scared that this class was going to be difficult because there are many concepts to learn, but professor Lawson made everything so easy to understand and was always clear on what was expected of us. He let us use notes and our textbook on the test there's no reason you wouldn't get anything but an A in this class.

Lawson is one of the best professors, he's super chill and funny and he makes lectures fun. Took him for Psych 101 and took him again for Psych/Stats 270. Our grade was mostly based on the exams which he would sometimes let us use notes and textbook, other than that, textbook would be optional, he'd go through lectures using power points.

I have had great professors in the past, but professor Lawson is undoubtedly the best professor I have had at southwestern college. He incorporates his own personal stories into lecture which made the class engaged and there was never a dull moment in his class. He is also very caring, and stays after class if students have more questions.

He's super chill and down to earth and keeps the class intrigued with his personal stories and lectures. Professor Lawson provides the most relaxed class environment for learning. The fact that he incorporates real life scenarios to be used as examples, makes it easier for the student to remember the topic of study. This class is a must have, but definitely you gotta read your chapters. After this class I found psychology one of my favorite subjects.

the online class was a very straight forward class. every week you get a quiz, discussion board and another quiz. professor Lawson makes the assignments straightforward and none complicated. the class was a fast track class so it does go by fast, but as long as you read and do the work you will be fine.

He truly wants you to succeed and is very accessible. If you do the assignments on time there is no excuse to get lower than an A. He wants you to understand the important concepts, and has his class organized in a way that is clear and easy. I wish all of my professors had classes like his.

Easy and straight forward class. Just keep up and turn in all the assignments on time and you'll do great. Each week their is a quiz, a discussion board, and a second quiz. Although it was a fast passed class it was not too overwhelming.

He is a great teacher. Had PSY101 and an online course with him. In PSY 101 class: he is hilarious, he never goes of topic always sticks to what he is teaching. He uses a lot of his past experiences when he is teaching and it is very helpful makes you fully understand the concept of each module. His class is so much fun ... give him 100/100 :)

I really loved this class. His modules were straight up so you wouldn't really get lost in what you need to do. Everything you read you really get to apply on discussions so you have an understanding of what you read. It's a really easy class just make sure you don't miss a homework or a test. I missed two because the time difference.

I see most of the people in my class all got an A+, if not for the time difference I know I would get an A. I just get mixed up with the date it's due that's why I missed two tests, but overall it's still a good class.

Professor Lawson focused on learning the material rather than memorization. Discussion boards related key terms to real life experiences. If you stick to class schedule it is easy to get a good grade.

I think he provided just the right touch to make me feel like I am capable of passing this course. He didn't make assignments and quizzes complicated. He let you know ahead of time what is expected to help one prepare and study. It was an overall joy to be a part of this class via online.

I took Professor Lawson's fast track class it was super understandable. His quizzes are answered by the modules and he is very easy to understand and he gives great feedback. I would recommend taking his class.

It was an 8-week course and wasn't demanding. Every week there was a mini quiz, a written quiz (not bad at all), and a discussion board. You don't need the book, this based on your preference. He adds humor to his short and simple lectures. I enjoyed the class and would recommend! Not a tough grader. I wouldn't recommend skipping an assignment.

Professor Lawson is a great facilitator and Instructor. He is perhaps one of best Professors I've had here at Southwestern College. If you need to take PSYCH 211 I would strongly suggest that you take this class before even thinking about choosing another Professor. If you take good notes, and pay attention you will be rewarded.

I would definitely recommend taking this class. He makes it pretty easy to understand because he gives a lot of examples. Also the class is open book and open notes which really helps. This class was much easier than the other psyc 211 class I've taken. He is really kind to his students and will help you understand the material if you don't get it.

Gabriel Lawson is worth the take for PSY 211, granted I took his online course, despite it being online, it was a great experience. He gives good feedback and the work is do-able. His class is all about time management. Easy professor, hot too. He's a real gem. Take him for any psychology courses he offers! He is worth it. :)

Mr. Lawson is a very knowledge teacher who is willing to share it with his students. He is also very friendly and always ready to help his students during and after class. He will allow you to take open notes and text books during tests and at times allows to do small groups for testing. He gives very good notes to study and prepare you for tests.

Took Professor Lawson's PSYC 211 online and it was great! The due dates for weekly quizzes and assignments were very straightforward. The textbook is required and you have to do the reading.

Professor Lawson(Gabriel) is an all around great guy. Having him for an online course was different than the traditional face to face class, however he gives good feedback on all assignments and truly cares about his students. He also meets for office hours on campus if need be. I'd definitely take his class again!

Best teacher on campus. His tests are not difficult and almost every student passed with a B. No homework or essays. Hilarious guy and entertaining lectures. Most definitely would take his class again!

Professor Lawson is an awesome professor. I learned so much from him. His class is definitely student friendly. The class consists of 6 exams. The exams are a bit challenging, but if you read the material and study before the exam, you'll get an A. Exams are open-note and open-book. No homework, no essays, no stress. Definitely 10/10.

I took Professor Lawson PSYC 211 class online, my biggest pro would have to be he really respects his students time. The way that he sets up his semester allows students enough time to read material complete quizzes and respond to discussions. He also gives great feedback! Only con, dont miss any assignments, it takes a toll on your grade.

Pretty easy class. It is based on an 8 week schedule, but every other week is a study week. Make sure you complete all the assignments on time. There are 2 quizzes a week, but one of them is elaborating on the discussion question that week, so it is not that hard.

He is a very laid back charismatic professor who is easily approachable and accessible via email. Textbook not required but will help understand material, easy to read as well. No homework, only tests which are sometimes openbook/opennote. Attendance isn't mandatory but extra credit pts given. Tests are 100% on material discussed, no randomness.

Professor Lawson's class is pretty straight forward. Video lectures are informative that applies to each module (terms, concepts). Gives great feedback, both positive and constructive. As long as you follow the prompts (rubric/criteria), you'll get an easy A for the class. Responds to emails/texts promptly.

Take Professor Gabriel Lawson's class if you have the chance! He's straightforward, approachable, interesting, and encouraging. His expectations and curriculum are clearly defined and the spacing of assignments/tests is very helpful for a busy student. I appreciated the quick grading and thoughtful feedback. Such a great teacher i took him this summer, as long as you show up to class take notes and do good on the tests you will pass specially because they are open book and open note and you can also work in groups , we took 3 tests and a final exam the final exam was optional depending on your grade. overall he really shows care and is very helpful.

Took his class during the summer and it was great! There was a total of 3 exams + a final which was optional depending on how you did on the previous exams. Make sure to take notes during his lectures because the majority of the answers were basically given to you. The exams were also open notes and book so its honestly impossible to fail.

Take his ANTH 103 course you wont regret it!! No reason not to get an A, Professor Lawson makes the material very easy to understand and straight forward questions during quizzes. There are two quizzes a week (super easy 5 questions), a weekly discussion board, and a final. No papers or projects. . Like I said, EASY A as long as you do the work.

By the time class came around all we would do was sit and listen to the lectures, all of the exams were open-book open-note and even some of the last ones we could work in groups, if he deems it, you can exempt the final!

I took professor Lawson for psych 211. He was such an amazing professor I had to have him teach another one of my classes. He is a professor that truly cares about his students. Because of COVID-19, I got to see both online and in class structure. In class: lecture based, 1 test every 2-3 chapters online: 1 quiz and 2 discussions per chapter

Took his class online during Summer 2020. Each week consisted of a short multiple choice quiz, an essay question quiz, and one discussion post with responses to 2 classmates. Multiple choice quizzes could be taken 5 times and the highest grade would count. Midterm and final were all multiple choice as well. Easy class!

Great teacher! Made anthropology relatable. Do the work and read the book and youll do great.

This is actually my 2nd time taking him but a first for online. I enjoyed the pacing of his class and I found the workload doable. It's just quizzes and discussion posts but honestly if you just read the book it's not hard at all. I found his feedback very helpful and the overall format of the class was good.

I would recommend you take this professor I took him in the spring during the pandemic. The professor navigated the class very well despite the times that we were living in. The course basically was videos,quizzes and discussions overall it was a good course Professor was very good about giving encouragement through out Take his class!

I highly recommend Prof. Lawson. I took his course Spring 2021. He is extremely encouraging, organized, gives clear & concise instructions on assignments. Quizzes are either multiple choice, or free response. He also assigns discussion posts on a bi-weekly basis. Provides videos & powerpoints so you have more resources outside of the textbook.

Most accessible Psychology class that I took last Spring Semester. It was a fully online class and a real easy A class. Just do the readings, watch the provided videos, discussion boards that are interesting and interactive, and the quizzes and exams. I think when you do all of these, and you'll easily pass the class. It's not hard!

I look Professor Lawson's class online during covid times and it was very clear and easy. If you enjoy learning about world cultures and how you factor in, you'll enjoy the text readings. If you want 100% on quizzes, you'll need the book (ctrl+F). Super easy to find it online, though! If you have any issues, Professor Lawson is happy to help (-:

Do the work and you'll get an A. This online class was a breeze for me. The textbook is online and free. There was a small reading, a short quiz and reflection every week with one discussion and video application every 3-4 weeks. Seriously, Lawson is a great professor and this class is not hard. Sign up for his class!

Took PSY215 online and was a pretty easy course. Professor Lawson provides recorded lectures on every chapter, as well as other videos to help learn specific topics in the chapters. He's easily accessible outside of class, there was no meeting times, and doesn't give you a heavy workload. Would've preferred in-person, but that's the only downside.

I recommend taking any of his classes, I have been taking his classes since psychology 100 and ending to take his class with stats. Easy to talk to, lectures aren't too long, he posts the book but honestly all the notes are in canvas. But don't recommend taking the 8 am classes, nothing to do with him but just students are half awake.

Professor Lawson shows you the way to succeed! His instructions and expectations are well put together and he pretty much sets his students up for success! Make sure you pay attention and take notes during his lectures, he relates the information to real life situations and makes learning interesting! 10/10 would take again

I was nervous about taking a statistics class but Prof. Lawson truly made it interesting and fun. I genuinely looked forward to going to early morning classes because his lectures give you the basic concepts in a way that's easy to understand, and he somehow relates the material to funny real life examples. I can't recommend this professor enough!

I absolutely loved him. He's known as one of the easiest professors for Psyc/stats and definitely lives up to it. He is very lecture-heavy, like the entire time you're in class he just talks but also makes it fun. The tests are the only thing that goes in the grade book and he drops your lowest grade. The best teacher at swc. Very clear wit lectures and keeps it entertaining/ fun. Always ALWAYS had the class laughing. Super caring. I was 1% from a B and he rounded it up and gave me my B which im extremely thankful for. His tests are hard but if you study and show up to all of his lectures youll pass the class. Take his class! Stats/Math has always been my weakest subject so I would dread it but Prof. Lawson made his classes so fun and easy to understand! He is so kind and offers lots of extra credit and he is amazing with giving examples! He will drop your lowest test score at the end of the semester as well. He is also very easy to contact outside of class.

You NEED to show up or you're bound to fall behind. Some if not most exams will be open note, EC on most. Receptive to ?'s and a good conversation, great teach.

Professor Lawson is the kind of professor you will always remember, he has an unique and interesting personality and makes the class fun and easy to understand. He's a great professor if you show up and do your best he can really see it. The class is exam heavy but there are extra credit for each exam. I got a C because I'm not a great test taker but he's a great professor overall. He's also very funny.

This class is incredibly difficult, that's just the nature of the content. It's not PSYC or SOC, it's a statistics class. Even with it being so hard, the professor was nearly perfect. It was like doing something really challenging, but doing it with your best friend. He made the information as digestible as possible.

Lawson was a great professor. He made a boring subject as interesting as possible and only taught what you needed to know for tests. Grade relies on 4 50-question exams that are closed note so study as much as you can. He tells you what will be on the test. He drops the lowest score so you don't have to take the final if you took all the tests.

I took him during my first semester of college. He was the best first introduction to how college is like. He didn't use canvas, but he also didn't have any homework or quizzes ONLY exams. The exams are very easy, you just have to write notes that he provides n memorize. He will drop your lowest exam. He's a great storyteller too!!

I took the class as an 8week course and didn't even felt the weight of the class, I really enjoyed his class and understood everything. Professor is available via email and in person answers all your questions, he is really funny and the exams are easy because he helps with the topics and explains what is going to be in the test. 100% recommend!

I've always struggle with stats, but being in Lawsons class is actually amazing. He makes everything so easy to understand and he makes great real world analysis. He didn't have a canvas so his classes were strictly in person so I highly recommend not skipping any classes.

it was a fully online class (8 weeks), it was a pretty simple class. It was more time consuming then anything, he had use doing homework from two modules a week (3quizzes/1discussions assignments). Didn't have a final exam, graded pretty fairly through the semester.

One of the best professors I've had during my first semester at SWC! Signed up for Stats For Behavioral Sciences and the way he teaches during lectures is easily understandable even when math is really weak for me. He will set examples on how the stuff works. He does not give homework and there is no canvas page but overall, I recommended him!

Professor Lawson is the best! I took his behavioral statistics course, and it was easy, as long as you show up to the lectures. He makes all of his lectures very entertaining. He tells you everything that'll be on the tests (in order) at the end of every class. He's got interesting stories, he's very organized, and is always willing to help.
