a kind and fair professor, but still a novice; has an obvious interest and energy for the material, but lectures sound a bit monotonous at times; the assigned reading is WAY too much to ever be covered in class; however, you're tested only on what is discussed in class;

A very nice and attractive woman, but seemed unorganized and I think overwhelmed by her own assignments. Seemed that she never could finish lecture in time or would cram in material before session is over. Talks very fast and soft (even a mic didn't help!), very little group work and interaction, which is my kind of learning.

This professor is an idot. She has no method to her lecture which she reads off papers that she holds in her hand. She talks so fast you can not get all the information she gives. Her reviews DO NOT correspond to the test. I am an A student and have a D in this class. DO NOT TAKE HER if you want a good grade.

Was a really great professor. Gave many opportunities for you to make a good grade in her class. The only grades are the exams so make sure to study your notes. Must go to class for notes and for attendance credit.

Professor Gonzalez is one of the greatest professors I've ever had the pleasure of having. The way that she's able to relate real world situations to the subject we are learning is great. As a person she's super warm and welcoming. I never feared going to her for help because she's always willing to help. TAKE HER YOU WONT REGRET IT!

Her lectures are great but very fast spoken. I had to switch from pen and paper to laptop and recordings. All exams are based off lecture and book so you MUST go everyday.

She takes attendance at every class so definitely go. Lectures are long and lots of information. She's very nice though and sweet and wants everyone to do well. 3 tests so as long as you study they are super easy. Encourages reading textbook, but I did fine without it. Extra credit opportunities too!

There isnt a professor I know who is sweeter than she. Very interesting and passionate she really wants you to learn. If you participate in class, shell remember you. You get a study guide that is almost exactly the exam & lots of extra credit. She is an example of what a professor should be. Just listen to her lectures. I finished with a 98.

We did over 15 assignments and only received 4 grades the entire semester. She did not put in any kind of grade until midterms(3 grades) and 1 more at the end of semester(final). She did not teach us how to write Chicago style essays or how to succeed in our major. She had unclear grading criteria and was very disorganized.

Disorganized. Never put in grades until last minute. Had weekly assignments and she put in less than 1/2. Did not use blackboard. Focused on writing a book instead of teaching and when done she tried to sell us it all semester. Had us buy 3 books to not use them. Confusing on my what she wants.

Prof is super sweet and shows passion for history. Lectures are kind of boring but she gives you the exact material you need for the test. Attendance is taken daily on Tophat with random questions about lecture. 3 exams and final but material comes straight from lecture, book is not needed. I definitely recommend her!

Good class to sleep or watch tv in. Scatter brained, never finished her presentations because she always went off topic. Promoted her book entire semester. Never received grades for assignments, midterm based on attendance. "Too busy." Gave 1 scantron quiz over youtube video for major grade. Final was a 3 pg essay to turn in on day of final exam.

Ridiculous amount of reading, won't even end up utilizing these readings. Her lectures are a snooze fest highly unlikely that you will retain any of the information. She words her lectures in ways that make it difficult for students to understand. I took this class because I thought it would be interesting, but instead understood very little.

She is an interesting Professor. We had 4 different books for this class, 1 was her book and another was another professor's book. You do learn a lot from her lectures and they are important for the Exam. I recommend recording her lectures because she does talk with an accent and she talks fast.

If I had an issue, I can email her and she'd respond the same day. She's very understanding and caring. There's only one assignment I hated which is a weekly discussion post. You have to write about something that was discussed in the module then write about how it relates to now. Weekly quizzes. If you don't pass, you're not really trying.

Very solid lectures on the history of the Texas/Mexico border. Certainly comes from a more left-wing perspective on the content(as do most professors), but gives out very solid information regardless. I had her class Spring 2020. I definitely recommend this class if you are a Junior or Senior.

I honestly didn't like this class. It was really time consuming and only because it was a random class I needed to take. If you're majoring in Womens Studies or History, it would be a great class. Lectures were super long and quizzes were literally 10 questions. The papers were annoying and she doesn't release those grades until grades are due.
