Very good instructor to have for math. If you don't understand something, she will go over it until you get it. She gives semi-difficult tests and always leave your cell phone off or the entire class will get a pop quiz.

She is very nice. Her teaching styles makes everything easy to understand and she does a review before every test(everyone participates).

This class was very easy with this teacher. She gives you a practice test before every test that is parallel to the test and always gives extra credit for doing the practice exams anyway. She also lets you know your grade the whole time- just dont forget to do the homework. You will regret it! :)

I took Mrs. Burkett for prep II math and Intermediate Algebra. I would continue to take her class if she taught higher level math courses. She is the nicest and most helpful teacher I ever had. Just be sure to always come to class prepared, do all your homework, and leave the cell phones on vibrate.

i was clueless with algebra for 3 years. but her class made the world of a difference and prepared me very well for college algebra. she makes sure that you understand the material and will spend all the time necessary IN CLASS to make sure you do! she reviews for tests VERY well and makes it FUN!

Its been a year since I took her Intro to Algebra class. She was excellent in helping me to remember the 20 years of Algebra that I had forgotten. If you have taken introductory or intermediate algebra courses in the past and have not gotten a firm grasp on the subject, I strongly urge you to take Professor Burkett's class. She provided an atmosphere where previously unrelated math concepts finally became coherent for me. Go to the math lab when you can & take the practice tests. It pays off.

She is a great teacher! She loves her job and loves helping students. Her assistant Karen is great too, and she's always in the math lab to help you. Overall the class was a lot of work, but not too hard, and there was homework every day, but if your in class its easy. If you need this class i suggest taking her!

She is an excellent Prof. I had her for the Mat1020 & 1033 combo class. It was definitely a lot of hard work. I spent many hours in the math lab. She really cares for her students and wants them to pass. If you try hard she will take note. Do HW, XTRA credit and attend every class, you will pass!! Professor Burkett is the best math teacher I have ever had. She is great at explaining the material and will take time to help you if you need it. She will explain the problem to you, write it on the board, and then give the class a problem so you can do it right there. Very Helpful-lecture not P-point, homework is part of your grade. Very clear and organised, practice tests just like real test. She explains concepts in a way that makes sense to non math people. Very strict about late, cellphone, not paying attention, disrupting class, - expect to feel singled out and embarrassed if you do any of those things.

There are 5 tests and quizzes only if someone's phone goes off during class. Do the practice tests with her SI, do everything Prof. Burkett says, and you will do great.

I took her combo course for MAT0028 and MAT1033 and learned so much from her! She has amazing tricks and tips to solving algebra. She's super nice and as long as you show up and do your homework, it's an easy A. She also gives extra credit for every test. Professor Burkett was extremely helpful. I have always liked math but she made it even more fun. The textbook is necessary. There is alot of homework yes but its fairly simple and the practice test are basically the actual test.

Great math teacher ever! I am horrible at mathematics and she explains it straight to the point, one way so your not confused with five different ways, she has a tutor sit in on her class and tutor you on the side. There purpose of College is to learn. You have to come prepared and homework must be done it's helps your grade. You have to give this class 100% if Math isn't your strongest subject. She is here to help you pass and will help you understand.

She is a great professor had her for prep math and intermediate, she has great teaching skills, helps everyone, answers emails, goes at a great pace, gives homework but not to much, gives times for questions. If she taught a higher math I would take it in a heart beat.

Literally the best math teacher I have ever had. I used to be terrible at math, getting D's. In her class the lowest grade I ever got on a test was an 88%. I finished with a 96% and thats only because I would skip homework sometimes.

Wants us to ask her questions, makes sure we understand all the material before taking any of her tests. She only has 5 tests and drops the lowest one at the end. If math is a difficult subject for you I would definitely recommend professor Burkett. She is by far the best math instructor that I have ever had. She gives you everything that you need to succeed.

Prof Burkett is the best math teacher. I wish she was teaching Stat. Don't think you going to pass her class if you don't put the effort. She can move a little fast sometimes but she make sure before she go she ask any questions. Don't be afraid to tell her you don't understand. Go to Pass lab and do your mathlab, you will pass. LOVE HER. TAKE HER.

Professor Burkett is one of those very rare teachers who actually wants her students to pass. You are given a billion chances to get the work done, earn extra credit, get help from the PASS lab and the SLC tutors, and work together in class with other students. Literally no excuse for failure

Professor Burkett is an amazing teacher. She is very dedicated to teaching and wants you to pass. READ THE SYLLABUS HAS EVERY DUE DATE (UNLESS SHE CHANGES IT) but she will let you know. Strict with phones. Gives extra credit on test. test are easy. Do the homework and you will pass the class.

Professor Burkett is very good at what she does but don't ever skip her class because you'll miss a lot. She does teach fast but ask questions and you'll be fine. Always reviews before tests and gives extra credit. Great teacher, would definitely take her again.

You learn a lot great professor you just have to work hard in her class and do all the homework and practice. She tells you what you need to know to pass her test and if you pay attention in class you can secure an A easily.

This class was a life changer, Professor Burkett truly BUILDS that crucial foundation required for -all- higher math. She makes the class extremely easy and she's easy to follow. Do homework and practice tests for easy extra credit and the class will be a breeze. Take this class seriously! It will help you for the rest of your math life!

Eccentric and not very good with her communication skill. If you miss more than two classes she will withdraw you. Overall adequate math teacher but be ready to bend to her way of doing everything. Also a sprinkle of condescending rudeness in each of her classes.

I wish I could take her for all my math classes... best math teacher ever. She really goes into depth on what you need to know for test and for later on math classes. Review day before tests and gives extra credit. Teaches a lot in one class but makes it easy enough so everyone can underrand.

This class was amazing. Shes super helpful and goes through each concept clearly and does a bunch of examples to make sure everyones got it down. There is a bit of online homework, but its not too bad. There are I think 5 tests and she gives you practice tests that are very similar to the real thing. The only thing is shes really picky about phones

Professor Burkett is a great professor to take if you're struggling with math or want a better understanding. Her lectures go at a manageable pace and she's very good at explaining things. Show up on time, pay attention and complete the homework and you'll do good.

Professor Burkett is an amazing teacher who thoroughly explains every concept that is on the five tests that you take in the course. She offers up to five points of extra credit on every test, and drops the lowest test score, which is very helpful. She is one of the best teachers at PBSC.

Professor Burkett is a wonderful teacher although she is a fast teacher she will slow down and answer all your question . I recommend taking her for intermediate algebra and sit in the front of the class because it helps a lot as well

Best professor I've had so far. Definitely does not tolerate wasting time in class so be ready to learn. Goes over everything steps by step and has no problem with questions and going back over things. Also quick with grading to answer questions. Did not use textbook much at all because everything is covered in class and homework is online.

An excellent professor whose both patient and kind - helped restore my confidence in mathematics. Strongly recommend her course. If you keep up with the homework & study the practice tests you'll do fine.

Cant say anything else besides how thankful I am for taking this class with Professor Burkett. She truly is one of a kind. She offers many extra credit opportunities, and she cares about how her students are doing in the class. She truly restored my confidence for math and I'm so happy I took her! She also does review days which are really helpful.

I promise you if you just ask questions about what you're uncertain in, she will always do her best to help out either in or outside of class. Great teacher, would love to take again.

If you want to get an A on her tests, ask questions, use the homework to study(even the extra-credit homework), and get tutoring if you are struggling. People who rated her low are just mad that they didn't pass without doing any of the above. Excellent professor, always answers questions, lots of extra credit, cares about students' success.

I would take her again in a heartbeat! Don't be a minute late, she's a stickler for manners, and don't even think about looking at your phone. Treat her with respect and she will do whatever she can to help you succeed, but she will not tolerate rudeness as it is a distraction to a positive learning environment. Do the work and participate!!

Awesome Professor! Makes topics clear and easy. Book is needed mainly for extra credit if you chose to do it. Extra credit opportunities every test. She has her own ways of doing things and honestly her ways make things a lot easier. Take her!!

Professor Gilbert was a pretty straight forward teacher and always make sure to give you the correct material needed for every test, there was never any surprises. She did a review before every test but make sure to always be early for the quizzes because they are at the beginning of every class and will lock you out.

She was amazing! Just pay attention to her!! Gives extra credit for each test! Her lectures are awesome. Breaks down everything for you to understand! She doesnt mind answering questions during her lectures. Test are easy and exactly like her study guide. TAKE HER!!!!! Easy A. Just study and make an effort. Best math teacher ever

She suffers no fools--don't be late, and put your phone away. She moves through lecture rather quickly sometimes, but she always answers questions. Before test days, she will have the class break into groups to do a review of the material on the white boards. There's decent opportunity for extra credit on the tests. Prof. Burkett is excellent!

Gail Burkett supplies many helpful resources to help you outside class, she is usually available outside class and will review subjects you are unsure of. when in her class she demands respect and shows respect to her students. if you want to have a class semester, put your phone away, quit the side conversation, and DONT talk bad about the subject

Mrs. Burkett is adorable. She has some great analogies and phrases that will help you remember some concepts. Her extra credit may be a decent amount of work, however, it is work that will help you understand the current chapters she is teaching. I recommend not skipping her classes, as she covers the chapters pretty fast.

Before I took this class, I never got above a C in math but Prof. Burkett is a great teacher and all you have to do is take notes exactly how she says and do the practice tests.

She was fun-loving and energetic. She made her lectures easy to handle and explained things really well. I wish she was my math professor again. Homework is also really easy, and if you need help she will happily give it. She also will before every test go over questions similar to the test. Where in a group on whiteboards you have to answer them.
