Not a bad class if you really want to learn accoutning and/or it's your major. Homework every week and she expects it to be done, will ask questions in class during the review of the homework, but doesn't collect it most of the time. First and second test are not bad, but the final is little hard
I learned more from my cousin who is a first year CPA. She is not very helpful and doesn't teach the material very well.
I LOVED this professor. I thought she was very clear in explaining everything and very fair with grades. Pretty easy going for an accounting prof. too..If you're going to take Accounting, I'd try to get her.
I think Professor Fraser was a great teacher. She made you understand accounting and I loved the class. You had to do the homework to understand the material, if you do that you pass.
She's a great teacher, she's nice. She does give homework almost everyday class session but she lets you make them up anytime. ohh she doesn't collect most of them but you have to do them to pass the class and understand everthing. I'm taking her for Acct 2 and would recomend her.
I took an accounting summer course with some dingbat and failed. I didn't want to take it again, thinking it was hard, but Professor Frazier is very clear and concise, and also very fair. She's tough, but she will definitely will teach accounting. I got an A.
She was the best professor that I ever had, she is the only one that wants to everyone understand and have a good grades, she could go over and over the problems and test questions as you need to understand the chapter,She makes everyone think and get the material, fair with grades, I recommend her 100%
She explains everything until you get it. Very helpful. Fair with grades
Very nice professor, but her tests are horrible. It is not related to what she teaches in class.
Great professor. My only problem is that there is so much material she makes you study but its not even on the exams. Thats frustrating. Other than that, remember EVERYTHING, if not, your screwed.
Great Professor. Will help you out. Unfortunately its a lot of memorization and a lot of material. Also I've noticed that she made us prepare with much more material than what we actually needed for the exam. Take her if you want to learn and are willing to work for the grade.
Her exams are very tough. Nothing is related to what she teaches. You have to do better on each of her exams otherwise she gives a "d" if she thinks are dont deserve it. she is a little infair too.her exams are very very tough, however, she is a nice lady.
The tests are easy as long as you do your homework and attend class. She is always willing to help.
She picked two students from the class, just before the final and told them they do not need to take the final because they already have an A+. How is that possible? Grades Students how she feels like, plays favoritism, if you are a good suck up take her, if not then I wouldn’t recommend.
Nice lady, def. will help. Had her for night class. Only 2 exams, one project, & h.w. every class. First exam worth 20% and insanley hard. Second exam 40% and was sooo easy!!! She basically tells you exactly what will be on exams. Project was based on ratio analysis, sounds hard, but is easy. Go to class, participate, do h.w., suck up & get an A!
Best accounting professor the university has to offer. (thank god!) If u want to learn & are an accouting major her classes are a must. She is very knowledgeable, and she also knows how to teach the material. She makes it easy to understand the subject matter.

Awesome teacher. She really understood you were trying IF you were actually trying. If you don't give some effort in this class, your just going to look dumb and fail.
if you want to learn take her, She is a great teacher, nice person, not the easiest but if you are an accounting major she will be of great use. PS She's not impossible either!!!
Good Teacher
Not easy on grading very tough. does not give credits for efforts
I would take her if there is a lot of the basics in acct that u r confused about. She is very clear when it comes to explaining and when the class is over u will understand a lot more. However, she does expect u to be in class and is BIG on class participation and will not take "I don't know" for an answer. Otherwise, she's not too bad.
I would have to say she is by far one of the greatest teachers i have ever had. she teaches a difficult course with alot of passion. she is always there for students to help. she gets you involved in her class discussions which in turn help u understand material better. you can not do better than this professor.
this is the best class i have ever had. this teacher helps you understand a tough subject. she is interested in her students success. she has a passion for her field which is reflected in her teaching style and her enthusiasm. you will come out of this class learning something. she has high standards. i respect her and thank her for a great class.
Take her if u r interested in learning the subject. She?s very tough at grading (meaning no extra credits) but also very good at explaining the subject.
She knows what she is doing and teaches it well. Show up to class, do the homework, don't cheat (she will catch you), and most of all be courteous and you will do great.
Great Professor! Basically...always show up for class! even if she's not in the class yet, stilll wait for her. She will show up! Grades shes pretty good with that! If you do your work right and participate in class, you should be fine! and when asked a question, try to answer it, dont say "IDK" ! lol Overall awsome professor! :)
This professor is very upfront with what is expected from her students &is really passionate about accounting. She teaches very throughly & while the class is relatively tough, she is definitely worth taking..Just do the work!
Probably the best professor in accounting at Kean; very thorough; tough but fair. I would recommend her to anyone who truly wants to do well in the accounting field
This was a tough class but she made it understandable and really explained the concepts well. Nice lady but a tough grader. Always willing to help.
She is a good person..Very fair grader..She is a very tough professor, but you will learn a lot...She intimadates a lot of people..Just work hard
She tries to intimidate people. Test are all problem solving and lots of memorization. Would not recommed this teacher. You will fail unless you work extremelly hard. She adds things on the test which she did not go over in class. Will make read and go over the HW in class, a waste of time. She had two test and one project in five weeks done.
very tough teacher - says one thing will be on the test and puts something else on it. every test more than half the class either got a D or F. and when the semester was over the classroom was almost empty after most of the students dropped.
She is not an easy professor, so anyone trying to get an easy A need not apply. However, she is fair. If you come to the classes willing to learn and put in the time and effort, her class isn't that difficult. So if you don't mind doing a bit of work don't miss out on this professor.
A good professor
Not a easy A but u learn a lot
Great professor if you really want to learn accounting. She is not easy, but then again, accounting is not meant to be easy. She is firm but fair and offers all the help you need. PAY ATTENTION TO THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS BEFORE A TEST, they are almost identical. Highly reccomend her.
Not easy, but not hard either. You learn a lot. Exams are not hard, just need to do the work on the practice problems she puts puts up on line, and I guarantee you will do well. Fair amount of work, but nothing that cant be done. She definitely knows her stuff. Highly recommended if you are an accounting major.
A LOT of work.Equivalent of three courses. You teach the material to yourself.May as well been an online course. Not helpful at all.Not sure where these other ratings came from. You will not learn with this prof.
Don't take her,and stay away from her. She thinks you are taking only one class in the semester and gives you whole bunch of work ...Never ever take her class.....
Fraiser is an outstanding professor. However, she is too muchhh. You need to do a lot of homework, but it is for you own good. If you take her class, just make sure that you take only this class for the semester. Her class is equal like you are taking 4 classes during the semester.
1.She is the best teacher I have ever seen and really helpful.2.For those who said she is tough, the only thing I can say you didnt study hard. I usually take 5course/ semester.Compare to other teacher, she gives more work to do, that's true, but it will benefit you in the future.Especially, for those of you who wants to be succeed.Highly recommend!
Dr. Fraser is one stern woman. She reminds me of a military general.Although she knows her stuff, she gives you a TON of work.I cannot stress that last sentence enough. As stated previously definitely a good teacher if you're an accounting major, but are ONLY taking her class.
She gives a decent amount of work and sometimes it can be a lot. However, she is an extremely good professor. She is very good at explaining the material and you will learn so much in her class. I loved it.
If you want to learn accounting, I suggest you take her! I didn't find the amount of work overwhelming at all, I think it was just about right for the class. There are no surprises on the exams, it's pretty much from the material covered in the class/homework/review.
I took her for Small Business Management and while she isn't the easiest professor, she's very fair. She's intelligent and knows the material very well. She gave us one exam, but the bulk of our grade came from the business plan we created and presented. It's a difficult, semester-long project but it taught us, hands-on, how to start a business.
Professor Fraser gives you enormous amounts of work to do. Tests are all on Journal Entries, I learned nothing. not a good experience with this teacher avoid her.
Learned so much. One exam was a bit difficult, but even with a B on it I ended up with an A in the course. Very helpful professor who wants to see students do well. I think 1/2 the class didn't care though! Worked all semester on a business plan which was intense but manageable. Overall, a great course!
Prof. Fraser is an excellent educator. There may be a bit of homework, but it's not at all unreasonable. Her tests and grading policies are fair. Int Acct II is a bear of a course in terms of amount of content. You must read to get it: the lectures are not enough (as they shouldn't be). If you need assistance, don't wait or you'll fall behind.
Too much work this teacher gives, she failed 12 people last semester so she claims her first day of class avoid her.
Her class demand a lot of work and is hard to get a good grade don't mess up your GPA
She's very good and HALARIOUS! The course is not that easy. The is basically focused on learning how to do a business plan, which counts as a large percentage of your grade. She will also give a final exam, which will be just as important as the business plan. So, make sure you do the online quizzes and read the book. You'll love her! Take her!
Don't take her! She gave too much homework and she didn't help on how to get the answers. Her exams were tough even if you work hard. Her grades were unfair and she doesn't care about the students but herself. She looks very arrogant and intimidating to her students.
Horrible professor. We took our midterm and didn't receive them nor the grades back until the last day of class when we took the final.
she is ok she repeats info that is important but her teaching skills could be better take her at your own risk
I've never taken the time to rate a professor, but Dr. Gail Fraser is worth my time. She is the most inspirational and best professor I could ever imagine having. She is empowering, down to earth, and intelligent. Who ever has a hard time with her is simply lazy. I'm confident I owe my accounting knowledge to her. Take her, you'll be happy you did.
Professor Fraser is a very thorough and competent professor. I was very weak at accounting as I've never taken it before, and her class was not a cake walk, however, she explains the material well and is very fair. She has real life experience that she draws from in Corporate America and her classes are interesting. Would definitely take again.
Great Professor, sharp, smart, witty and funny. Brings real business experience to the class, and brings the best in you. Cares about teaching on hand skills needed to have confidence in a business enviroment, like learning to write a real business plan for an investor. I would definitely take other classes with her. Awesome experience.
Learn lot in her class. She is funny and helpful.
One of the most intelligent women out there. She knows what she's doing and she knows it well. She's always willing to help. A very funny woman, you'll enjoy her lectures because she does not make it boring. Its a lot of work though but is you're willing to learn, take her you wont lose anything :)
Very smart professor. Pay attention, ask questions, and do the homework. Homework will help you understand course materials much easier. Nice lady but doesn't mind telling you how it is.
SHE IS REALLY SMART, SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE IS TALKING ABOUT. SHE EXPLAINS THE MATERIAL VERY WELL, HER CLASSES ARE ALWAYS INTERESTING, AND SHE IS ALWAYS READY TO HELP. EVEN THOUGH, SOMETIMES THE AMOUNT OF HOMEWORK IS A LITTLE HEAVY, IF YOU REALLY WANT TO LEARN ACCOUNTING, YOU SHOULD TAKE HER.
A LOT of work, especially if you have other difficult classes. Really hard exams also, review helps 40%. Assigns homework on things we haven't learned yet and the homework is automatically graded because its online, so it really doesn't matter if you tried, it's if you know how to get the correct answers, you have 2 tries to get the answer right.
She's a little tough but only because she wants her students to really succeed. Book was pretty pricey and you need it for the homeworks. SHE LOVES POP QUIZES so beware, but make sure you read and at least try to understand the material cause if not she'd probably confront you in front you in from of the class.
Attendance & the book is a must! Gives a lot of work, she forgets she isn't the only class your taking. You have homework, Aleks, learn smart, pop quizzes, then the midterm & final. She barely gives a review in class there's a online review sort of helps. She also hw she didn't go over yet. You definitely have to study & work hard for your grade.
Study a lot!
Dr. Fraser is a great teacher. There is a lot of HW involved but it's needed in order for you to understand the material. She does give Pop quizzes, you will need the book and connect. Also gives ALEKS as a project. If you do your work, show up to class, you'll be fine. She will provide extra help if you need it. Very nice teacher.
Although very serious, she is a wonderful professor as long as you are a wonderful student. I, myself, wasn't afraid to ask questions because I payed attention and most of my questions were legitimate. Aside from this, I found it cheerful that she remembered me a few semesters after. On your phone in class and she will call you out.
She is not kidding about anything. She is a very accomplished person and very intimidating, I was scared to ever ask a question because she made you feel embarrassed about it. Everything went well during the whole semester but the final messed up my grade. She doesn't get that she talking to students and not to people who already have a PHD.
Bad professor avoid at all cost such a nasty woman pretends to care about her students but all she cares about is her self and telling you how successful she is
Worst professor I've had thus far. She barely teaches any relevant material but expects you to know it anyway. She is stuck up and sarcastic. If she calls on you and you don't know the answer, she will make a joke of it in front of the whole class and keep asking you over and over as if the answer is magically going to pop up in your head. AVOID.
Worst professor ever beware she goes on rate my professor all the time she probably is writing her own review to boost her rating. She's more concerned with her rating then teaching
Although she means well, she is a very tough grader. Miss class, you definitely will not pass, has the weirdest grading system ever! Gives pop quizzes! Do not take!
This professor thinks is the best because all the time is bragging about her success, but read the powerpoints like an automatic machine. Awful!
She doesn't teach well, her timing is terrible. we had to do 2 pop quizzes, 2 tests and 2 writing assignments in the last 2 weeks of school, all semester only had one test, 2 quizzes and I paper. she keeps bragging about herself and shames students. DONT TAKE HER.
Gail Fraser teaches from an experienced perspective. -She doesnt sugar coat anything but dont let that bother you because your boss wont either. -Utilize her as a resource for all your business inquiries while youre in school. After all she has years of professional experience. -You are going to receive a high potency business education.
The problem with Kean is that the student body puts in minimal effort whilst pressuring teachers to bump their grade that clearly reflects the work they hadn't put into the class. I had Dr Fraser as an advisor and a teacher, a predominant reason I even decided to stay at this school.
She didnt follow her syllabus. Condensed everything into the last two weeks of the semester. Gave us work unrelated to acct. didnt follow her own grading system. Terrible.
Great professor. Really pushes us to be great.
Class is very challenging. she may be intimidating but she really wants you to do well. you have to put in a lot of time and effort to do well in this class. cheating or slacking wont happen in this class. test and quizzes are hard. homework is pretty long but very helpful. read the chapters and do the homework for sure.
Very tough course, requires a lot of work. homework is heavy and tests are very challenging. pop quizzes throughout the semester. PAY ATTENTION and participate and you will do okay. Slacking off wont get you far in this course.
SHE MAKES YOU WORK FOR YOUR GRADE! If you're looking for an easy A do not take her or you'll barely pass or risk failing. You will receive a quiz on the Learn Smart hw's almost every class. And the business plan is 30% of your grade so each hw that builds up to it MATTERS. This is by far the HARDEST class I took at Kean however I learned alot.
homework is rough. teaches one thing then give 80 ?'s on learn smart on top of extremely hard journal entries and calculations. she tends to forget we are all students and not experienced accountants looking for a brush up. Does not take her time teaching. Once she teaches it she does not like to review. dont take her if your not disciplined
Worst professor i have experienced in kean. She expects students to be accountant her level on day one. Tests and homework is nothing like what she teaches in class. When you ask for help she will give less information. Jumps from one chapter to another or section in the book. Does not follow syllabus. 5 quizzes, 3 tests and homework every week.
Speak voluntarily at least once every class, do the homework because she gives pop quizzes on it, and most importantly don't stop reading. She won't go over everything in class but everything will be included in the exams somehow. By far the hardest professors I've taken but you'll learn a few things in the end.
Expect a lot of reading(learnsmart) homework, a handful of homework assignments, and weekly quizzes. Your quizzes are based on the previous learnsmart you have completed so take them seriously. If you're serious in learning about accounting, the learnsmart and lectures will help you a lot. DONT neglect her online assignments, majority of your grade
This professor LOVES to call on people randomly to answer her questions. She will belittle you of you can't answer.
She assigns way too much homework that will take up all of your time. She gives us up to 100-300 questions WEEKLY for only 5 points on Connect. She is extremely rude and barely explains assignments correctly. Takes forever to grade work, which you'll need before moving on to next assignment. Do your mental health a favor and don't take her class
She gives WAY to much work to then take forever to grade, grading extremely harsh. Professor Fraser gives up to 4 hours of Smartbook homework ON TOP of the difficult project. She's rude and does not take anything her students say into consideration. I feel I've been set up for failure and highly regret not dropping this class when I had the chance.
BEWARE OF GAIL FRASER. Just letting you know if you decide to take her but dont take her.
Absolutely should avoid, especially if taking this class as an elective. The grading is extremely tough and she expects you to be 100% right, 100% of the time. Very passive-aggressive in her feedback/grading and condescending.
Entrepreneurship is a class that you will have to put your best foot forward in. You have to create your own business and throughout the semester she will have different parts due regarding the business plan. Dont expect an easy A. You should show your dedication in the class and show that you are willing to put the time and effort into the class.
You will have to work for your grade. Professor Fraser is kind but she is very tough. Make sure you put a 100 percent into this class if you want to get an A. This class is challenging especially because you have to create your own business plan and complete the different assignments with the business plan. Entrepreneurs should take this class.
