She is easy. Not alot of work. She talks alot tho.
Terrible! Always late! Long+Tedious lectures. WORST!
she talks a lot but is very easy
She can be a bit much in the talking dept. Not a bad prof. though 50/50 rating.
Unorganized. Hard grader. Has favorites. Unclear assignments. No syllabus.
She is a REAL nightmare! Goes on tangents, does not teach. High expectations!
it takes her 4 ever to give things back and she never talks about the subjct and
She is boring and constantly talks
very boring, talks way too much, don't need to do the readings, easy class
very easy but boring boring BORING. Hard grammar quizzes.
not that bad. just talks a lot. sometimes its even interesting.
talks way too much about nothing..don't really learn anything first 2 months
very easy just pay attention in class if you can stay awake no quizzes
The whole semester is based on one paper. Lectures are pointless. EASY
Can u say BORING. the worst class, and she talks too much about everything else
Talks alot but very willing to help and you learn alot about NYC
No Comments
easy grader.. talks way too much.. overall not bad
she is extremely easy, easy A as long as you attend class and listen
the class is definetely boring, but she's an easy grader, doesn't ask for much
Play her game, go to class and pretend you like her and get and easy A
Easy A
Not bad if you can stay awake
Talks way too much. Doesn't stop talking. Makes the class stay for all 2 hours. Even makes us stay overtime. IT's a challenge to stay awake!
she is so boring, you can fall asleep there. She talks so much, it makes the whole class sleep
Its like watching Al Gore talk for 2 hours, but if you can stay awake, its a great class
If you have insomnia take her class. U will have no trouble falling asleep in there.
shes a terrible prof. talks way too much about irrelevant things. someone needs to put a lid on her mouth. and shes ALWAYS late but will go crazy on you if you arrive 5 minutes after she gets in. dont waste your money.
Loved her class, she knows and loves her work. Inspires. One of the best
She’s a terrible professor. Another thing to be aware of is she talks way too much about irrelevant things and puts everyone to sleep. It’s a struggle to stay awake in her class. She is ALWAYS late, comes in right when you have the right to l
i think i've only met one worse teacher for university 101...you guys who went on the tour of city hall on 10/10 know what i'm talking about. to next year's freshman, try to get someone else for your unv 101 professor.
talks waaaay too much. goes off on tangents all the time! wants class to participate, but hard to b/c she never shuts up. Nice, but very boring. Has her favorites. Always 10 minutes late even on exam days.
Although she is alittle boring. Once you get used yo it is not that bad, she is an extremely easy grader. Although you never get to see your work until the end of the semester she gives you fairly good grade. Class participation is very, very important.
She is kinda easy but talks for the longest time about god knows what! If you have a choice do not take her. She will put you to sleep with all the "uuhhh"s in her speech. I placed a new record in the "uhh"s which is around 1000 times
so boring... in this class i learned how to sleep with me eyes open!
All we did was discuss the plague and write papers. There weren't any midterm or final exams. The last 10 page paper had to do with the other smaller papers.
Her daily ramblings are mostly irrelevant to the course materials, however, you will certainly learn a great deal from the research that she makes you do. She's a pretty easy grader too. No midterms, no finals, only 1 paper.
I can't believe she's gotten bad reviews. A very passionate professor, interesting and dedicated. She's late sometimes because she teaches other places. Knows her stuff. No midterm or final. Gret selection of literature. If you like to read, take her.
She was extremely boring but its an easy class. But she never returns your work so you don't know where you stand.
She has a mandatory attendance policy, assigns a lot of work that never gets covered, and has a hard time making clear sentences while she is lecturing forever.... the work is easy and she is an easy grader, if you can just handle sitting through class.
oh man, is this lady boring. easy grader if you're willing to sit for 2 hours staring into space. she's nice, but, lord does she ramble. she wants you to participate, but then she never shuts up and kinda yells when you want to talk. but, easy grader.
She's pretty cool. I would recommend her.
She is sooooooooooo boring. I fell asleep in her class without knowing it. She seems like an easy grader but i advise you to drink Red Bull or take crack to stay awake.
I had her for a Community course Comic and Tragic Vision. Well, that was tough one to sit through for 2 hours straight. Her lectures are sooooo - o long! And she doesn't stop! And its all monotone. But its bearable. The class is interesting if you're VERY interested in the subject.
I understand why somebody wrote down they fell asleep b/c 1/5 of the class did every class. Lectures are boring and work load is all over the place.
English is not my first language and because of that I did not want to take this class at all. I was really worry that I might get a bad grade, but professor Korn was really nice to me. She help me get through the class much better. I thought that I might get a C but I ended up with an A-. Overall, I think she is a very passionate teacher.
very boring.. so boring in fact, i counted the number of times she said "um" or "uh" during her lecture (836 if you were interested). do not take her!!
She is passionate and extremely knowledgable about what she teaches. Her lectures are LONG, but she does ask the class questions for participation time
Very boring lectures...she hardly let us talk and by the time she did, we had forgotten what we were going to say. She is very passionate about a lot of books...my class wasn't on the ball for one book and she flipped! But she is easy as long as you stay on top of it.
All she does is talk, talk and talk some more. Extremely boring Her grading system is awful. Her percentages added up to only 90%, and 20% is for class presentations which we didnt even do. She didn't complete half the work we were supposed to do. If you want a clueless professor take her.
She is clueless. Should not be allowed to teach. Doesn't post up grades until 3 to 4 weeks after the class is finished
Her lectures are horrible, really doesn't lead discussions anywhere that would allow you to explore the literary merit of a work or even important themes that should be discussed. Her one positive is that she had some very good comments on my essays which helped me a lot.
UmmAhhhhha she is really boaring and ahhhh not nice to the ummmm other professor who works with herrrrrhaaaaa not nice, does not give back papers, and makes one very ahhhhhumm sleepy in class...has a tendency to say ummm ahhhh a lot
She's a nice lady but when it comes time to papers she's a tuff grader. I would take her if your willing to work hard for your grde
Very Boring, gives students a tendency to fall asleep in class. Lectures are never ending. Difficult grader and critiques everything. If you are willing to work hard for a good grade, then she's ideal.
She is one of the sweetest prof at Pace, but cant teach at all. corny korn will probably put you asleep in no time. plus side is that shes not hard and can easily pass the class
SAYS "UMMM" EVERY 5 SECONDS INSTEAD OF TAKING A BREATH... TOO MANY BOOKS ASSIGNED 12 TO BE EXACT. TREATS THE CLASS LIKE WE'RE IN HIGH SCHOOL MAKING US ASK FOR PERMISSION TO USE THE RESTROOM OH MAN DONT TAKE HER CLASS
Never stops talking, ever. She is very passionate about every piece of literature ever written , impossible to take notes or keep up with whats going on in the lecture. Tough grader but a sweet lady. Bring coffee to class.
she never ever stops talking. i had her for history (even though shes an english prof) and she assigned insane amounts of work for an undergrad class. she also takes class participation personally and gets upset if you dont speak up, even though she doesnt give you an opportunity to do so. avoid at all costs
In order to pass her class actively particpate in discussions. Act like you care what she is talking about. Assigns alot of books to read be prepared. She doesn't assign many papers so grade relies upon a journal and participation. She cares alot about attendance so if you like to miss classes dont take her.
Very passionate about Latin, but makes constant mistakes in notes on board, so feel free to ask questions/correct her. Do the homework and you'll learn, but she offers no help to students with trouble, and the textbook is more helpful in learning the language.
Very nice professor. Never makes you feel dumb if you don't know something, she always encourages using the dictionary and looking things up to improve. It's a chapter a week with one quiz weekly. Not the easiest material but she does her best to make it better to understand. She's very passionate about Latin and etymology.
This class was torture. It was Women Journalists and Essayists and only had 6 people in it. You read essays and sections from about 20 novels, almost all of which are impossible to find cheap or online. Excessive busy assignments. However, if you go to every class and complete the assignments minimally you'll pass.
I took professor Korn for greek civilization and it was three hours of her lecturing.I never knew someone could be so knowledgable and talk without skipping a breath for that long. She givesquizzes at the beginning of every class so make sure you do the readings and also participate in class or else she makes the quizzes harder. Just try I got an A
Tough grader, if you do the work there is plenty of opportunities for extra credit making it easy for you to get an A in the class. It's up to you. Latin is tough and if you don't do the busy work to practice (yes it can be boring) you won't pass. She is kind but tough teacher. Work hard and she'll love you. Participation encouraged not required.
All she does is talk and discuss about the reading material. So you MUST read or else you won't understand ANYTHING and you'll pass out quicker than a light. The last thing you want is for her to catch you sleeping or on the phone. The material is actually quite interesting once you get a hang of it. READ and PARTICIPATE. Seriously.
Gail is very tough, She has quizzes every week, lots of time you've gotta spend studying for. Classes, attendance is mandatory (large part of the grade), and usually her lectures are very boring. All classes function as: Go over homework, read chapter (literally she reads from the book), assign hw. Highly would not recommend going for Latin class.
Professor Korn is knowledge and nice. She talks a lot, sometimes can be interesting but most of the time it can get boring. Attendance is MANDATORY. Only allowed a few absesnces. A lot of reading, class was fairly easy. Would take again, I recommend if you can stay awake.
Professor Korn is very nice. She assigns a lot of reading and expects you to be good with your attendance. She loves participation when she is discussing the readings. Very fair grader. Took her twice so far and no complaints. Definitely recommend.
She was a good professor. No quizzes, but a lot of writing and reading. if you miss more than 3 classes for whatever reason, you drop a whole letter grade. if you miss 4, 2 grades, and if you miss 5, you automatically fail. Show up, do the written work, and you will pass. Her lectures went by pretty quick
Professor Korn was pretty rude. She didn't know how to navigate Zoom or Classes and then blamed the students for it. She required attendance and you wouldn't be counted there if your camera wasn't on. Only explained what would be graded at the end of the semester. Wouldn't take her class again.
Where do I start? Prof Korn doesn't grade a SINGLE ASSIGNMENT until the end of the semester. That's right, you have no idea how you are doing in the class until the final week. She basically has no idea how to use Zoom and will call out students not constantly looking at their cameras. The class mostly is just her droning on some unrelated topic.
Professor Korns lectures are very long. She makes sure your camera is on at all times. She talks the whole time so all you have to do is sit there. She assigns writing exercises every week that are graded by completion and the fact that you tried with a legit response. She assigns so much reading, but you don't really have to do it. Attendance!!!
This class is all lecture, you just sit there and listen and you have to have you whole face in the camera and look interested. She just sits there and scans everyone and if you are looking down, typing, or doing anything else she will call you out. So boring and she ends exactly at the last minute of class so 2 full hours of lecture.
Professor Korn is one of the worst professors I have had at Pace. She lectures the whole time and expects your camera to be on the whole time as well. She has decided to wait until the end of the semester to grade all assignments so you have no way of tracking your progress. This class was a waste of my computer battery, DO NOT take her class!
Terrible professor.
Do not take this class. The lectures are boring and repetitive, she held us overtime every class period, and the hw is just busywork from the huge textbook. The content of the class also just sucked, it was super Eurocentric and barely acknowledged the harmful effects of colonization, but we spent 3 days talking abaout the Irish potato famine. oof.
Professor Korn is awful. Lectures the entire time, preaches the importance of paying attention & participating but does nothing but talk on and on. She has now talked about the same topic multiple times and has graded nothing all semester so good luck figuring out where you stand in the class. Avoid at all costs, don't say you weren't warned.
Professor Korn is a VERY lecture heavy prof and tends to repeat herself, A LOT. Doesn't accept late work under ANY circumstances, your camera has to be on all the time and she WILL call you out if its not on. Other than that, lots of writing exercises that are pretty easy, so just do them for a better grade. Textbook absolutely used.
this class is nyc history, and it is so whitewashed. here are things she has said: "nyc transplants contribute more to the culture than nyc natives", "peter stuyvesant was a good man... he believed in slavery, but he had honest policies", "slaves took away jobs from poor white people", "indians" (when referring to natives) don't take this class
Professor Korn was horrible. Lectures for 2 hrs straight and if you are not staring directly at your screen the whole time she WILL call you out and berate you for it. Extremely whitewashed version of American history/ deliberately ignores other cultures & influences. She cried while reading the declaration of independence. Pointless HW/readings.
Lots of required readings. Not all of them have to be done though as she talks about it in class. Writing exercises are easy. Just show up and stay online and there won't be much of an issue.
Gail Korn is very friendly. However, when asked for something that requires follow-up, it is either not done or needs several reminders. Attendance is mandatory to do well in Professor Korn's class including keeping your camera on. It is a textbook-heavy and writing-heavy class with a reading and accompanying writing to follow up the reading.
