Very hard professor - very willing to help learn outside of class and assist with learning. However, material is voracious and extremely intricate in detail.
She gives outlines of the notes but her tests are VERY HARD and the answers are very confusing b/c she goes into great detail. You'll have to study the book really hard to get a C! She keeps the tests but will go over it with you one-on-one if you want.
You will learn the material in this class! Very helpful Professor. As long as you study all the handouts and your text you should be just fine.
She is by far the hardest teacher I have ever had.If you have a choice of another teacher take them!
knows her stuff but hard... study the handouts and hopefully you make a B. be prepared to study that fat textbook
Dr Wynn expects you to know your material. Some may say that this makes her difficult. She just really wants you to UNDERSTAND the material. She is in a class by herself-caring with high expectations. That does not make her difficult. Be prepared to work hard and she will be very fair!..
very hard..lectures and tests are confusing..not very helpful to students..I went to her asking for help and she was rude and treated me like I was stupid..do not take this woman for anything
Dr. Wynn's Biology Lab was very difficult, but she will always help you understand. She explained the material very well but there was just a lot of information to cover. If you take this professor for lab, be sure to study and memorize all of the charts in your lab notebook.
I found her teaching methods very unhelpful! If you ask questions she makes you feel stupid. She does not take time to go over work or help people that need it. Run from her class as fast as you can!
Dr. Wynn is one of the greatest teachers I ever came across. Her class is not for people who insist on remaining average minded to make higher than a C. She made me push my level of reasoning and logic to heights I never imagined I could. If you want a serious and organized lecturer, go for her.
She made me feel very stupid when i asked her legit questions, take larson or thornton. Come on, she wrote the lab book for christ sake- she expects a lot, her lab practicals are VERY tricky.
Dr. Wynn has a bad reputation becuase students are afraid of her study guide. Everything she covers on her guide is on her tests. She just simpliefies it for the class. She is not hard, actually, she is THOROUGH, and if you're here to learn Anatomy, then take her class, I promise, you'll know it...
Dr. Wynn is a very smart lady. If you really want to know A&P inside and out, on a higher level then she is the one for you. However, if you want an easy "A" or "B", don't bother. She expects a lot from you, but will go to any lengths to help you succeed.
it is easy to feel stupid in her class because she's so smart. she is a great teacher, and knows which students are trying and which ones aren't. she expects a lot from her students, but nothing outside of reason
She just needs to speak up a little. She was very helpful when I asked her questions. She prepares you if you are going into the medical field. She makes you learn the material. If you take Larson, you are setting yourself up. Yes you will get a good great, but you will struggle later.
omg, this class is so hard. its only a lab but i spend A LOT more time studying for the LAB than the LECTURE (or any other class) n still made a C on lab (n an A on lecture). quizzes or practicals weekly. teacher very hard to understand.
she is not hard at all!i wouldn't recommend takin her with another time-consuming class.read before coming to class so you can follow her.it's just that her test is more about applying your knowledge rather than stating it out.i am still takin her, and i pray every nite that i'm able to fit her in for A&PII next time
I found her unclear to understand and very insincere and insentive to personal situations. Her test material is inconsitent with her class material. DO NOT TAKE for lab if you do not take her for class as well. She will test you on info due to memory lasp in Lab and Vice Versa. She dosent seem to care that situations arise.
Dr. Wynn is one of the best teachers I have ever had. To be honest, it is a difficult class. However, A&P is difficult material. I learned a great deal and was content with the B that I earned.
Not at all good. Do not take her.
Worthless as a teacher. Reads out of the book the whole class period and ignores student's questions. Talks into a microphone and still cant be heard from the front row. Caters to those who take her lab. But she does give out study sheets and her tests are usually straight from her notes.
Extremely difficult. She goes by an outline and gives 5 tests, but they hard to pass. I studied for hours and only passed one of them. She is very hard to hear even with a microphone. I tried numerous times to meet with her but she was too busy or not there during office hours. This class is very time consuming. I do not recommend her class.
One of the best Science teachers that I have had. She requires a lot of her students. However, she gives detailed outlines of each lecture and review sheets prior to every test. Tests are very challenging. She does speak very softly, so it helps to sit close to the front.
just read the book n the outline she hands out n try to befriend someone in the class that will sign your name on the attendance sheet because its pointless to got to her lectures. zzzzzzzzzzzzz. tests are hard!
Do not take her. It is so ridiculously hard. You never know what the heck she's talking about, at all! Tests are so hard. I regret the decision to take this class. Rely on the book. She gives about a million handouts, and chooses test questions from those, the book, captions in the book, and any random fact from her lecture.
It's roughly equivalent to watching a robot talk for 1.25 hours and trying to keep interested for 15 weeks. If you study the material sufficiently nothing is a problem, though.
Entomology class is fun and interesting. She gives you the notes already typed out so you don't really have to write anything.

I went into A&P knowing that it was going to be hard, but she makes it so much harder than it has to be. I'm not one to complain, but she makes you know so much extra material and the tests are ridiculously hard. I barely got a B, and I've never had to work so hard to get a B in my life. Would not recommend her.
Don't walk, run, and get out of this class. I 'd heard she was very hard but I still thought I could do better, as I'd been successful with all my other classes; however, very few students are a match for the testing style of this prof. I attended every class and studied 15+ hours a week, but I only earned a C & she did nothing to improve grade.
For those of you who had trouble with Wynn try taking Collier for A&P he does an awesome job not getting caught up on too much detail. I loved Dr. Wynn's entomology class but I can see how A&P would be almost impossible.
Worst teacher I've ever taken!!! I've never given a bad review to a teacher, but she sucks. Here's some tips: 1) Go to class 2) Read the book thoroughly 3)You'll regret asking questions because she makes you feel uncomfortable 4) Learn from the first time, and never take this teacher again. That's pretty much it. Easy class, though.
The hardest I have ever worked in my life just to get a B, and I am an honors student. Dr. Wynn is extremely monotone and technophobic. Her tests are MUCH more detailed than they would ever need to be and it kills any excitement for the class you may have. Her class is an exercise in your memorization abilities, nothing else.
Dr Wynn is someone I would not recommend to anyone. She is handout crazy, and thinks her outlines are law. She goes into incredible detail where you have to memorize the smallest thing for your tests. All of our grades have steadily been going down since the first test and she doesn't care. Hard teacher, goes off on tangents A LOT. Very softspoken.
She speaks in a monotone voice which is so low you can't even hear what she is saying. She is boring and I basically had to teach myself because going to class was a waste of time, due to the fact you could not understand what she was saying. She states she gives out extra credit but then does not use it towards your grade. I do not recommend her.
Can barely hear her. she's really nice however she teaches from another text than the one required for the class and her test are of the devil. lol
AVOID AT ALL COST!! She wrote the lab manuals for A&P for christ sakes!!
Gives a crazy amount of handouts. you can do well in there but you have to study your butt off. Tests in the begining were too hard, but towards the end, they were better. She will help if u ask.
She is very nice, but her tests are almost impossible. I am in her class now, but wish I would have taken someone else. The last test we took there were only 2 or 3 A's, and the same with B's. The rest were c's d's and many f's. To do good in her class, you need to KNOW every chapter word for word!!!! I am praying I can get a c in this class..
This was the hardest class I have taking at AASU so far, she's not helpful at all and her test even if you have read the book 3 times you still will get a low grade. I believe she thinks she teaching students with biology degree already!
Worse teacher I have ever encountered. Very soft spoken. Classes are dominated by conversation with herself. Test will make you think you know nothing. Didnt finish the class. Make her your last option for a professor!
This is no easy subject to begin with; however her class is extremely difficulty because of the format of her tests. Over half the class dropped the course, and the remainder is fighting hard to survive. Avoid her if at all possible!!!
This is the hardest teacher I have ever had. I am an A student, struggling to mantain a C in her class. She expects way too much.
Wynn was hard. She is extremely detailed in her lectures and she is very demanding in her testing. You can do well but you have to go into her class with the right mindset. STUDY STUDY STUDY!!! This is no class or professor for a slacker. If you have to take Wynn make sure you develop a dialog with her and she will bend over backwards to help
I never suffered from headaches and day mares until i took this class. It was like barreling down a mountain and not being able to stop, even though you are screaming stop at the top of your lungs and that is only her lectures. The test were brutal at best and very very unfair to the average college student. I completed that class with less of m
I would not recommend this teacher for anyone. She has a very monotone voice, that will put you to sleep! Her test are tricky and they do not come off the study guides that she passes out. I wish I would have rated her before I signed up for her class!
She is pretty much impossible, but she is very nice, which makes it hard not to like her... As far as the tests go, they seem impossible. I have made A's and B's in all my other science classes, classes I am much less interested in... I am going to have to take this class again with another professor next semester for my major...
Dr. Wynn is a very nice lady and a good professor. Her class maybe more difficult, but it makes you learn the material, instead of being handed a grade. If you use the outlines as a study guide and supplement it with the text book, the tests are much easier.
Her class is not easy, but it's an upper level course. She's very helpful outside of class. Go to lecture, even if its boring (paying taxes is boring, but we still have to do it). I echo someone's previous comments: STUDY! STUDY! STUDY!
Dr. Wynn is tough but she's willing to help if you ask. She sets high expectations - usually when a prof does this, it makes me work harder... I recommend her.
I took AP 1 in 4 weeks with Wynn. It was difficult. I can say though, that I learned so much from this woman and I feel very prepared for AP 2 and etc. You CANNOT slack in this class and the grade does not come easy. You will work very hard, but you will feel pretty accomplished when you are finished with her class. If u want a challenge..
This lady is really sweet, but she is very old and therefore has an old teaching method. You have to know EVERY little detail to get your A. I feel bad for saying it, but I would not take her again or recommend her to anyone.
Had her for lab, Larson for lecture.Love them both/taking the same for 2082. Larson's no good in lab (hard tests!),great in lecture. Wynn's no good in lecture (hard tests!),great in lab! She has the easiest practicals of any A&P prof. Very sweet, helpful, and clear about what to know. Yea, you'll study your butt off, but if you try, you'll succeed!
Parasitiology was so hard! She expects you to know EVERYTHING! Tests are really intense. She is a very sweet lady, so nice. She is old so her classes can be at times boring. i survived the class but i would never reccomend her.
Horrible instructoor. Very difficult to understand what she is saying. If you ask her a question she will try to make you feel stupid. Her tests are very tricky. When you study day and night it is still a great challenge learning from her. She is too boring and monotone. HELP!
Had her for A&P 1 & she is miserable to try and listen to! She is very monotone & just goes over all of the pictures in the book. None of the information in class is helpful & her tests are extremely hard. I would never take her again or recommend her to anyone else.
Had her for lab, if you study and know your material the practicals should be no prob. When she lectures I cant understand or hear what she is saying. She does try to help you out but for me it was easier to tune her out and study on my own during class. Overall I probably would not recommend her
She really does know the material, but listening to her is like having a someone drill into your skull - slowly... Ask a question and prepare for an essay answer that may leave you more confused than before. She wants to be helpful, but isn't. And her tests are multiple-multiple choice: killer. You really have to know the material - front to back.
Very sweet lady, however it is very difficult to hear her. Takes off for spelling, gives no room for error. Would only take her again if I had no other choice. (I had her for lab)
She will give you all the infrmation and then some. This class is for those that are going on to medical school or really want to know the information. Her test are hard because there is more than one answer to the questions. Not for the weak student, I got a B from her and then took another professor for 2 and it was an easy A.form a study group
This lady is tough. Her tests are brutal. She is hard to hear during lecture. She is NOT an easy A. Now for the good. She is very helpful, always available, been a nurse for 97 years or something, and she is just as sweet as she can possbly be. Want to truely learn A&P, take her. Looking for an easy A, go elswhere.
Very rude and not helpful. Test are extremely difficult with multiple answers to a single question. Many fail her class the first time around. Definitely have to study hard. Doesn't make any of it easier to understand at all. Rambles on about irrelevant info. often. Has a bad attitude towards her students. Need help? got to go elsewhere.
great helpful and involved nursing students need her you will learn, tough but good
Glad to have been her student! She is holds herself to a high standard and expects her students to do the same. The material is difficult and you have to work, but she is willing to help you. This is a class where you need to put in the hours. Leaving her class, I was prepared for nursing school and that was my goal. Don't take her if you're lazy.
The most helpful, kind professor I've ever had. She does a lot for her students. EXTREMELY clear with her material and what she wants you to know. She gave us outlines of the chapters and study guides. Keep in mind that it's A&P 1. Not English 1101, not calculus. Don't stress out. Relax, study. Try to enjoy the material and you will do fine.
She can be helpful. But her exams are extremely difficult and long. Lab and Lecture exams are on the same day so its a LOT of information to handle. She is sometimes condescending to students and mocks their failed exams. Talks unprofessionally about students who don't go to class IN class. She gives study guides but they arent always helpful READ!
Dr. Wynn is really a nice person and her class is very challenging if your not mentally prepared to take an upper level Biology don't do it!! I took a 5 week course and I still have an headache if it was during a regular semester it wouldn't be so bad, but if you do decide to challenge the almighty WYNN be ready and dedicate yourself!!
She presents the material in lab and then your on your own to learn it. She is pretty snippy when you ask questions. Its hard to hear her because she speaks softly.
One word to describe this course: Death. You pretty much have to teach yourself & seeing as this was my first time ever taking an Anatomy class, it was torture. The exams are extremely difficult, and she doesn't do a good job at explaining material. She was also really rude when students tried to ask questions. Beware!
She is hard. However, students who enjoy a challenge, should enjoy the class. I really liked her because she separates the men from the boys and the women from the girls. I saw a lot of students leave lab early, which gave me the opportunity to have her answer any question I wanted. She's an A&P genius.
Horrible. I have her for lab. She reads the questions to tests and quizzes out to us like we can't read. You ask her to repeat a question after a test is over she will not do it. On quizzes she will repeat them. This class is horrible. I never had a science teacher so horrible!
She is very soft spoken so hard to hear. She does not teach and goes off on tangents so a 30min lecture turns into an 1.5hr lecture. You have to spell everything correct. Someone in our class wrote manible on the test and she counted the answer wrong (not even half credit) because it is mandible not manible.
Dr Wynn should be considered a treasure to Armstrong State. While she isn't tech savvy she will answer any question one on one and rewards student interest and dedication to the subject material. She makes students work for grades and this just can't be under appreciated. Her wealth of knowledge is something you should tap into while you can.
She is very nice but her class is ridiculously hard and a lot of it is self-taught. She gave us two weeks to learn all the bones and every indention on each bone. Understandable request. We get in class for the practical and she asked us to answer 20 questions referring to the bones. Learning 300 new words and only needed to know 20. I dropped.
She is extremely soft spoken which makes her hard to follow. Very picky on spelling. She likes to ramble during class about God knows what so it makes paying attention to her even tougher. Very easy to just stop listening to her and stare at the clock.
Take Dr. Wynn if you want to crush your GPA. Simple as that. This class is hard and she does not help by making it any easier. She gives no partial credit for any answers and she takes off for spelling as well. We had 4 people out of 26 pass the class. So there's that.
Too soft spoken too hear. The extent of her teacher is laying out models and tells you what keys go with what. Very rude when you ask her questions. I had a 3.7 GPA and got a C. You are given one week to learn all of the bones and their ridges and one week for all the muscles. Take this class if you want to destroy your GPA.
Dr. Wynn is a nice lady. I would not take her class again. Her tests and quizzes are stupidly hard and she asks questions just to confuse students. She will help if you ask for it. Participation matters. If you stay late in lab, she will take your picture and help your grade out in the end. I would recommend staying almost the entire time.
Definitely the hardest professor, she knows what she is talking about but her exams are nearly impossible to get an A on. Over half of our class never got higher than a C on an exam (about 40 ppl) and this is with her passing out an "exam study guide"... I would not recommend this professor if you are trying to keep your GPA up.
professor Wynn is one of the worst professors i have ever taken at armstong. She is soft spoken, i couldn't hear her even sitting right infront of the class by her desk. The material she goes over isn't always on the test. DON'T ask her for help or repeat anything, she'll make you look incredibly stupid. WORST PROFESSOR, AVOID AT ALL COST!!!
Here's the thing: I have multiple degrees (graduate level) from both Univ. of GA and Florida State - this was one of the most difficult courses I have taken. However, it was not unreasonable. If you wish to go into a field in health sciences or the medical profession this class and Dr. W will give you a great foundation, but IT IS VERY DIFFICULT!!
Ok, if you want to have a life, don't take her class over the summer. She speaks very softly so hearing instructions is sometimes very hard. Study from her study guides, not really the test outline. Final had a lot of stuff on it we never talked about in class (class avg was like a 60). Ask questions, study everything and you could make an A.
Dr. Wynn is an extremely knowledgeable professor. She wrote the book for the lab. She is very soft spoken and hard to hear. She allows makeup exams and will help those that look for it. You must study harder than ever in order to pass, but the knowledge that she imparts is priceless.
HARDEST professor I have ever taken. Take her if you dont want a life outside of school. You have to study and put all your effort if you really want to pass. I just have her for lab and I study for lab more then that actual lecture class. Shes old and you can barely hear her instructions. DONT TAKE HER! You will regret it.
HARDEST professor I have ever taken. You have to study and put all your effort if you really want to pass. I just have her for lab and I study for lab more then than lecture class. DONT TAKE HERYou will regret it. Dont bother asking her questions, she cant hear so you will have to repeat it many times and in the end she will say to look in the book
Wynn's anatomy class is hands down one of the hardest classes I've ever taken. She speaks softly, and her opinion is the only opinion most of the time. You can't just study the outlines she gives in class, YOU HAVE TO STUDY EVERYTHING. If you're attempting a bunch of other classes, like another science, just don't do it to yourself. Good luck!
Dr. Wynn knows her information. She is very hard to hear but doesn't mind you asking her to speak up. She is tough with her material that she wants you to know but will give you some answers on the test if you got around what she wanted. You have to go to class and stay in class until she gives quizzes back. She is a nice teacher just be prepared!
Dr. Wynn gets a bad rap, she's great! I had her for lab and loved her. Show up to class, write down everything she says, study the material for the next class so that you're prepared for your quiz. Ask her for explanations, use the lab time wisely, don't leave after she's done talking. Study and you'll do just fine!!
I took her for A&P 1 lab and she is the hardest teacher I've ever had. She expects SO much out of you. She has 5 point quizzes over entire chapters and spelling matter with her. I would not take her if you want an easy lab.
All quizzes and practicals are identification type. She asks a question and you're expected to know the answer. Lenient when it comes to spelling. Hard, but not undo-able. A lot of self studying in her course, but she'll help if you come to her. No online pre labs. Take her and you'll pass everything else. Very specific. Hard to hear her sometimes.
Like everyone has said, Dr. Wynn isn't an easy grader. I'm an A student, I already graduated with a high GPA from UT Austin, and this class was hard. She loves microscopes, so write down everything about the slides she shows. She's great one on one and is very kind if you're doing the work. Use more than one studying approach, and you'll do well.
Do not take this professor. Very hard to hear her when she talks and doesn't explain things very well. She tells students what not to expect on the test and then puts it on the test.
She is a very sweet lady. However, she is a tough grader. It's also hard to hear her. You have to study more than the lab manual to get a good grade. It is hard to understand her at times. Stay in class and look at the materials, it will help a lot.
she gets up set when you ask her questions & when she lectures (lotssss of talking ) its like she's whispering .you have 6 quizzes and and 5or 6 test and a final . EVERY thing is hard , she wants you to study for this class (studying at least 5 hours a week).i don't recommend this class . u might as well say I study the book by my self
I would not reccomend this class to anyone. Her tests are impossible and she is extremely hard to hear in class. She does not take her time explaining things. She only reads from the notes. Worst experience Ive had at ASU.
Horrible class! Hardest tests! I do not recommend this class to anyone!
Where should I start? Professor Wynn is TERRIBLE!!! I did not register for her class, but because the professors I did register for changed classes, I got stuck with the bottom of the barrel, Dr. Wynn. She is extremely quiet and hard to hear (even if you sit up front). I dropped this class and it was the best decision I ever made. DON'T TAKE HER!!
As some of the other reviews have stated, Dr. Wynns class is hard, but not undoable. She is a very nice lady and will help you outside of class if you ask, which I recommend because she knows the material! If you are planning on going into the health professions, Wynn is the one to take. Make sure to sit up front.
I had Dr. Wynn for A & P 1 lab last year. I was wary of taking her because of her reputation, but I am so glad I did! She knows what shes talking about because she wrote the lab manual. Stay for the entire lab and make sure you learn EVERYTHING. She is great at helping you individually, if you ask.
Dr. Wynn is an old school lecturer. You have to go to class and take notes. She does give you outlines, tho which do help you follow along while she talks. The subject is complicated, but Dr. Wynn is nice and is willing to help you outside of class. Im glad I took her class because now I have a detailed knowledge of A&P.
Let me start this off by saying Dr. Wynn is a fantastic person, but a fantastic professor, she is not. I had her for A&P lab and lecture. The lecture tests are extremely difficult and the majority of the class fails. she digresses very often and also skips over important notes in class. YOU MUST teach yourself if you want to pass. Same goes for Lab
Gail Wynn is a terrible professor who will not help you at all when you ask for. You can barely hear her, and she only hands out test in the class
Do not take her! I am an A and B student and have never struggled with a class like I did with her. The tests are super hard and the class average for them were usually failing, and you can barely hear her talk.
Not as hard as the horror stories you hear. You will be teaching yourself but all you have to do is study her outlines and remember everything it its specific order. Requires a lot of study time
Terrible. Avoid at all costs
Dr. Wynn does SO much for her students AND she really knows her stuff! She is clear with the content and tells you what you should know. She hands out outlines of the chapters to help study. Get real, the class is A&P 1, not Art 101! Read and re-read the chapters, study hard and you will do well. She will also help you outside of class if you ask.
The tests are HARD. Dr. Wynn is NOT an easy A. However, I am very glad I took her because now I know the subject. She is always helpful, available, and she is so kind if you're doing the work and really want to learn. In lab, write down EVERYTHING about the slides. Dont just take a photo and think you know it. You wont.
Please don't take her if you want an easy semester. This lab will consume most of your time because you have to study. There is a quiz or test every week. You'll take more tests here than you would in the actual lecture. She also marks off for spelling. Every quiz and test is free response. Many people have dropped this lab too.
Dr. Wynn is actually really sweet. It can be difficult to hear her during lectures, but she is more than willing to project slides or give page references. It's a hard class and she's a hard grader, despite her belief that she is dumbing the material down. It's an ordeal, but one you'll be better for surviving, if you can manage.
While I received a good grade in this class, I wish I'd had a different teacher. She knows her stuff, but she talks quietly and is very difficult to hear. When you ask for clarification, she goes off on a tangent, and you never quite get an answer. Some of the exam questions were unclear. Definitely a "tests from the footnotes" teacher.
Whispers!!!! Cant hear a thing
Def the hardest class I have ever taken. She is very disrespectful and degrading. She is a very knowledgeable professor to the point where if you do not understand, she degrades you. There is a quiz every week in her class and she is a HARSH grader. I do NOT recommend her to lab.
