Not as bad as you think. Gave study guides before the exam and the study guide is basically the test. Journals collected. Pretty cool teacher.Research hrs, are required and not that hard.
She is very hard, but nice.
OMG! Hard, confusing and disorganized. Although for psychology majors, she is really helpful. Make friends with her and in the long run, it'll benefit you.
Man you better make friends with her kuz when she dunno who you are and ur close to the A, kiss it goodbye! B it is! BORING CLASS
She does expect a lot from her students and you definitely have to do the work to get a good grade, but she is a cool professor. The class was really intersting to me and I like that she does more that lecture all the time.
She is a funny, charasmatic, sophisticated, and a fairly attractive women for her age. It is unfortunate this women grades your term paper's unfairly.
If you have her for lecture hall she is easy. The midterms are all from the study guides. Study the study guide rather than the book.
the most skillful psych professor at Cal State L.A! Her classes are tough, but that is only because she expects you to learn. my favorite professor on campus for sure. if you are serious about psychology, take a class with her.
She was at least ten minutes late to EVERY class. Its like highschool again with nametags on our desks, and doing notebooks. She disillusions freshmen dependent on the reading, she lectures the reading material! Her students will be sorely surprised when they get senor-level classes and have to do work.
She is a good teacher. The class is NOT difficult. All you have to do is turn in the assignments, memorize the outlines for the tests, and turn in your research credits and you can get an A in the class. She was always late and never really let us leave earlier than 10 minutes before the class ended. You DON'T need the book at all.
At first she seemed to be a hard ass, but after weeks have gone by she's not that bad. The study guides do help a whole lot. I enjoyed her class because sometimes she's late, but we get out early and we get to watch video clips, or she fiddles around with the computer when she doesn't know how to work it. I passed it with a B and I was freaking out
She's boring and assignments are like journals every chapter. Have a couple of abstracts and use name tags to call on you. She is boring and her grading is wierd. I passed everything with perfect and got a B for the midterm and a B for the final but ended up with a C. Something is wrong there. BECAREFUL!
She gives study guides before the quizes, has pop quizes, so attendance is a must! You have to summarize an article, but, she gives you choices. The only problem with the term paper is that you have to summarize 10 pages in only 2. You do not really need a book for this class and do not forget to do the research hours. Paper is graded unfairly.!!!
Really annoying with the name tags and how she treats us like friggin' little kids.

she has high standarts for her students...very demanding. Not impossible, just need a lot of study time.
From a clinical perspective, I'd say she has inferiority issues. Why? Because she appears as though she is above her students as if she at least has students to be above of. It's kinda sad, but true. However, she does know her****!
Anyone who can't learn something from this woman is a dumbass. She is the best the psych department has. If you can't get anything from her, you probably don't belong in psychology and should change your major cuz you are a punk.
I felt like I turned into a Psych patient in her class. I was BoReD to death in her class. I hated it. As a freshman class, she should do a little more to help her students get past the idea of learning strictly from the book--keeping a journal of each
Good teacher, very informative...gives interesting lectures and her tests are way too easy! She gives a study guide and the study guide is basically the test, so study just that and you'll do fine! Attend all the review sessions, to get a better understanding! She often times always has a bad hair-do every class meeting. You'll learn!
She's good and everything in general but goes way too fast during lectures and acts rude sometimes .. but overall ok... her t.a. this quarter is nice and he's cute
good prof. just study the study guides she hands out for the tests
On the first exam, I got a 36/50. I thought i was gonna get a C for the quarter, but with all the bonus points and extra credit she gave, I'll be gettin an A. Her class was sometimes a bore and seemed very long, but it was worthwhile. She wasnt really helpful though because she had a cute teaching assistant. He was alright at helping...
This class was okay, her lectures tend to go a little fast though. If you do the reading you'll do okay on the tests and make sure to keep up with the notebook assignments. Her assistant for this quarter, Brian was very hot and also very helpful.
You need to keep up with the reading in order to do ok in the exams. Make sure to study your study guides. She makes you have a name tag out and she calls on people throughout the class.
HER CLASS WAS EASY. THE STUDY GUIDES WERE THE TEST. SHE IS VERY CLEAR KEEP UP WITH YOUR NOTEBOOK ASSIGMENTS AND YOULL BE FINE
A LOT OF PEOPLE FAILED IN THIS CLASS THAT THEY WERE TAKING FOR THEIR THEME. I GOT A C- WHICH SHE LATER CHANGED TO A C BECAUSE I BUGGED THE**** OUT OF HER FOR OVER A YEAR. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER!
I got a C-, I believe I was a point away from getting a D. It's a hard class, you just have to read the book everyday, be sure to do the homework, be on the T.A.'s good side, be reallyy fast in writing notes (4 to 7 pages) and study hard. I recommend getting a tape recorder or a laptop if you are a fast typer but I don't recommend this teacher
She is condescending and doesnt seem that the goal is for as many students to pass as possible.
she is the most terrible teacher i had ever taken. didn't learn a damn thing in her class. very confusing and unclear what she wants.
knows her stuff.
Dropped her class after second week of school. I heard she was tough, but boy that's an understatement! She's a very demanding professor--and intimidating, too. But she's highly educated and knowledgable in her field of study. Take her if you're willing to put the time and effort. If not, then DON'T take her class.
Underachieving Cal State LA students MUST stop complaining. If you don't study, you won't do well. Simple as that. So study, and get your A. It's very simple. Dr. Fernando is great, she is edgy and cool. Great respect.
She expects that psychology should be your life
She is an excellent teacher. If you walk into college expecting an easy A go back to Jr. high or something. I don't want to be mean but come on! If you're not willing to work hard you won't achieve!
Everyone should take professor fernando. She was one of the best teachers that I had at CSULA. She tends to expect a lot from her students. If you follow her directions, this course will be a piece of cake..
Her class was very interesting. Questions from tests are straight from study guides(mid term & final 80 pts). But VERY lengthy study guides!! SHe sped thru lectures and added her own info and this was on test. !0 pg paper only 20 pts. Expected great structure on the paper but failed to explain. Did not make ab psych fun:(
Very knowledgable professor, and a very challenging class. You need to be prepared every day because she calls on you randomly with questions. She can be slightly demeaning if you are unprepared.
Honestly, those who think she's unfair don't know what college is all about. As her TA, I can tell you, she is beyond helpful if you're willing to ask for help. She puts her own info into the test that's not in the book? Well, that's why there's LECTURE - not read it yourself class. If you're willing to work, she's great!
did okay on her test.. passed them.. wrote my paper.. it was about 7 pages long.. graded so hard.. don't take her
this professor is trully THE greatest for phycology! While in her class i noticed most of my classmates paid absolutely NO attension, I mean Come on people and then you wonder why you got a D- If you pay attension u can reallly learn sooooooooooooo much from her. People say WTF why is my grade so low? well if you video tape this class you'll see
She doesn't tolerate " Suck Ups " Yea thaz rite OMG can she be any bettr
God People sometimes she may treat you like kids only because your assinments R the stinkin work of a 3rd gradr yea i made a few ratingz and PS not a teacherz pet I took her class 4 yrs ago and now i just found out about her website Ps guess where i went after that das right YALE cuz i gave a chip about her class and paid attension mybuds&iwotedis
You will have to work for the grade. Her ch outlines are really helpful. She can get an attitude sometimes if she appears to be wrong and she like to hear herself talk. One class meeting she was sick and could barely speak, she still managed to keep the class the entire time after she said we would get out early which was only 10 min early. She eve
She is an spectacularly good professor. She knows the material very well and she explains everything in a clear and easy to understand way. By far the best one from the psychology department.
She tries to condense everything together. If you are not a psych major this will not be a familiar subject. Kinda acts as if we are all psych majors. Her tests are hard and too much to memorize!!! good luck
I'm not a psy major nor do I like psy but professor Fernando is a really good professor, she could be hard but if you attend class and do the readings you'll be fine. You learn many helpfull stuff in this class.
Tough but workable.

Dr. Fernando is one of those professors who have a great passion for what she teaches - so right there and then you know that she knows her stuff and have the zest to teach. Her tests are a bit hard but studying is the key! If you want to go to grad school, particularly for psych - she's your gal! You will learn a lot from her!
This class was too boring for me. She's ok, but it's not a class for non psych majors because some of the material she teaches seems like something you should know already. You have a paper, a midterm and final (scantrons). bit unorganized i guess because of the class size, but she should be better. Overall I would not recommend her.
I thought this class would be interesting, but she found a way to make it boring. There is no need to even show up to class. Her lecture is from slides that she posts on webct. Her final and midterm are difficult. She assigns one paper, but requires you to follow too many guidelines. She won't grade your paper if you don't meet all the guidelines.
She knows a lot about the topic and is always willing to help. She also has a lot of life experience in psychology. She uses study guides. If you really want to learn, she is a great professor to take
Too much work and not enough time to do it. makes it difficult to learn anything.
This professor is boring and down right useless. Her lectures are long and boring, does not use the book for nothing. She expects you to do perfect papers that are to UC standards. If she sees you falling a sleep she will put you on blast! and tell you to leave her class and will wait for you to get out. Do your self a favor drop her class.
she really knows her field of study. i never fell asleep in her class because she helped a lot of things become interesting. funny and really helpful. her class is easy if you keep up with the module outlines and study. it's only a difficult class if yr lazy.
I did well in this class. Exams are tough, so I found doing her long study guides to be key. She knows her subject! But, when asking questions I felt that she was condescending to many students which discouraged me from asking. Collect all points you can get, ex cred and attendance
She used the textbook everyday, the term paper was a big pain in the ass. She gives an annoying quiz every week and if you do poorly on it she will yell at you. She does give lots of extra credit if you want to do it. The tests were easier than I had expected but she didn't give any study guide for the final exam which I thought was pretty messed
In my opinion, her exams seem too often to be looking for obscure facts and do little to measure your understanding of the subject. Poorly worded study questions tend to sandbag you as well. Lectures seem to be from an older version of the text - hard to follow and lack clarity. Her GA's lecture was agonizingly bad. Good classroom control.
She really hard and requires a lot from you. She gives a difficult midterm, a final, and a short paper. The exams are multiple choice so they are not that bad. As for the essay it is very hard to get a good grade.
I DO NOT RECOMMED FOR PSY 160!
Sometimes if she does not feel like lecturing, she will ask the student to read text and present it to the class.
I learned A LOT from Dr. Fernando. She knows her stuff. Although the paper was ridiculously time consuming. She was the hardest teacher I've ever had. If you have a other responsibilities like a job, family to take care of, etc DON'T take her. If you have the time to give to her class, do it and read the book. She's a wonderful professor.
The lectures were interesting but the text was not always easy to follow. She's very helpful to talk w/ about future plans for grad school. Really knows her stuff but the exams can be hard if you don't study. Video clips about emotions were cool!
Dr Fernando is so beautiful! I really loved her class!
I used to really like this professor but then she had us assigned to groups. Unfortunitly the "leader" in my group decided to trash me and the others in my group in order to make herself look better. Equally disturbing Fernando bought it hook line and sinker. One would think a psych would be able to see tho B.S.
Really great professor who knows her stuff. Is entertaining but informative at the same time. Just take good notes and ask questions if you don't understand.
LOVE her class..there is a midterm and a final wich are sort of challenging..You have to study hard!!
funny and informative at the same time.made class fun and interesting. midterm and final were multiple choice and lectures are posted online. one paper and researc hours, which are really surveys.
Class is pretty easy as long as you do the work. She sometimes randomly takes attendance and goes over test material during her lecture. Also, Dr. Fernando makes her tests based on the study guide questions she gives out so the tests aren't hard once you go over them.
This professor is arrogant and so full of herself. She does not know the topic of clinical psychology or measurement theory very well. Throughout the quarter she barked inappropriate remarks at students. She asked if I had ever had a pap smear. She will grade you based on her favoritism and make you feel like a stupid student.
If you like getting pop quizzes every time that you go to class this class is for you. Don't expect her to help you with your paper. Read the chapters ahead of time. Beware she might forget things so document everything.
Unclear of what she wants. Expects you to know everything. Isn't helpful at all. If you ask her something be prepared for your question to be questioned.
She is unprofessional and disrespectful. She expects students to read her mind. Not helpful and very confusing. Expects you to remember minutia and takes any opportunity possible to tear you down as a student. Class is not worth the time and you are better off taking it from someone who actually respects their students.
Expects way too much for an undergrad level course. Quizzes students in class to see if they did the readings and loves to always be right. Way too arrogant and confusing. She picks favorites, but also loves to embarrass students and make them feel powerless. Little learned about actual clinical psychology.
This professor should not be teaching abnormal psychology but rather participating as a case study on personality disorders. She is very deceitful, coldhearted, and will take advantage of you as a student if you have something she wants!
WOW I cant believe these other recent reviews, Prof. Fernando is a great professor, she is nice, helpful, clear, and an overall fun teacher and class to take. THe only reason i c doing badly is not paying attention or not asking any questions, got a B but could have gotten an A if i wanted to try harder
This CLASS is very interesting. I love clinical psychology! HOWEVER.....Dr. Fernando is THE MOST ARROGANT professor I have EVER encountered. She LOVES to hear herself talk, she enjoys humiliating the students that don't know the answers to her questions (FYI: I was NOT one of those students, but I did witness the humiliation), and she expects perfe
DO NOT take her if you have any other choice. I had psy 310. She chenges her mind constently about assignment during quarter. She does look nice & friendly but be careful! Not helpful w/ paper. Quiz almost every week b/f she would have any lecture on that chepter. At the end I have only one thing to say Run Away From Her Class.
You don't need the textbook, based of the notes and study guide you can pass the class. Don't talk in class, always pay attention and you should be fine.
Wow i took this professor for abnormal psychology 310, I am an A average student, i got a high B on her class and i killed myself over it, say goodbye to ur social life! and expect a difficult quiz every week, and a midterm and final for which she gives you a study guide but is only about 65 % of the real test, oh and a research paper 12 pages long
There was a lot of reading to do. She didn't want you to talk in class. We had to put out name tags on out tables so that she can call out on you when she asks an extra credit question. Her pop quizzes are done orally. She gives you a lot of reading to do before class or else if you can't properly answer the questions, she'll call on you repeatedly
Very unfair, subjective, treats you like a child by making you place a name placard on your desk. Loves to be always right. Unclear about her subjects. She is very tricky. Tells you to study her guide but only sixty percent of the study guide is in her tests but she tells you that's all you need. Bottom line, don't take her.
I took this professor for abnormal psych 310, anxiety level is very high the first 5 mins of class because she randomly calls anybody to answer a question you were supposed to read based on the chapter. Very challenging class and term paper 12 pages long.Really need to work your butt of for a good grade i am an average A student, ended with an A-
She cares about the subject and is an excellent lecturer. Long paper (10-12) paper. The book is extremely good if you are interested in emotions. (If not, you shouldn't take this class.) There is A LOT of information covered in the class. Attend every class, study hard and you will be okay. She gives great study guides that help you learn.
She gets tricky with her case studies. Unclear when she said she won't let you diagnose a disorder with a chapter that you haven't covered but pulls the chair on you and tacks off points if you diagnose wrong disorder. She does seem like she knows a lot of psychology but she needs to learn how to respect people. Inconsistent and narcissistic.
I am very...(I mean extremely) confounded about why there are so many negative reviews about Dr. Fernando. Of course her tests are hard, and it is great that her classes are hard. Psychology is not easy, period! I got an A and B plus in her classes. I am very anal retentive about my GPA; however as a psych major, I know better not to post any perso
GREAT TEACHER. FIRST FEW CLASSES RANDOMLY CALLS ON PEOPLE. TESTS ARE HARD IF YOU DONT STUDY ALL OF THE MATERIAL SHE PRESENTS. OUTLINES AND STUDY GUIDES ONLINE. HELPS Y0U REMEMBER STUFF BY SHARING STORIES AND EXAMPLES. I WOULD TAKE HER AGAIN.
My problem with this woman is not the level of difficulty of the material, nor is it how the exams are written, given, etc. My problem with this person is her lack of respect for students. SHE NEEDS TO LEARN TO RESPECT THE PEOPLE WHO ARE TAKING HER CLASS! It's very simple to understand. Working hard is not the issue; we are in college, people.
What a wonderful professor!! She really made me love psychology, more than I did before! She is not easy, but welcome to real life...nothing is easy! She is very helpful and will gladly sit down and explain anything you don't understand, you just have to make to effort to care and show up!
Attendance definitely mandatory, puts her lecture notes up online, and is a fair grader. If you don't do the work or ask a 'stupid' question though she can be pretty harsh. I wasted a lot of money on a book I didn't use, most test questions were from the notes.
I sat in the front of the class and still could not hear her. She put everyone to sleep. I had jury duty and I missed 1 class, and that was the day she took roll and I lost about 10 points. And I told her I was missing class. which ment I would not pass the class. Also, on the extra credit she gives negative points.
Dr. Fernando is truly one of the best professors on campus. Have to admit, it wasn't easy, but I will guarantee anyone taking this class that you will walk out with more knowledge than you walked in with. Put in the work and you will be rewarded.
Mediocre professor, can teach alright, breezes through the lectures pretty fast but generally consistent with book. Pop quizzes, class participation. Mandatory attendance, will take points off. A little disorganized, and can come off to be a little rude to students. Lots of little group projects.
Took this class as part of my theme class thinking it would be easy; I was totally wrong. Her test are super hard, kinda tricky!75qs midterm, and 100qs final. They are based on the reading and in class movies. But Good luck! She's okay, just don't expect and easy walk in the park with her class!:)May the odds be ever in your favor.
This class is a lot of work! Don't get her unless you are ready to do some serious reading & the study guides. Print the class lessons, theres no way you can take notes in class cause she goes way too fast for anyone to even understand & remember whatever she went over. Do good on here midterm, final, article summary cause thats all the assignment.
I wouldn't recommend taking her. I usually receive high grades, but in her class it's a harder task. Her grade is made up of only the midterm, article, and final. It seems as if she forgets her students have other classes to study. If you're stuck with her make sure you print out the notes before class. She gives extra credit, but only 10 pts max.
I wouldn't recommend taking her. I usually receive high grades, but in her class it's a harder task. Her grade is made up of only the midterm, article, and final. It seems as if she forgets her students have other classes to study for. If you're stuck with her make sure you print out the notes before class. Breezes through lectures, it's annoying.
This class is not as hard as people make it seem.As long as you go to class, and pay attention you will be fine. She does post the notes online so just print them before and it gives you a chance to pay attention during class! There will always be study guides and she does ask if students have questions.Put your part to it; make time. Youll be fine.
Great professor! Her study guides help a lot with the midterm and final, so make sure to do them. Print the lecture outlines before class and you'll be fine. She does random extra credit assignments(super easy). I really loved her class
Great professor. Do the study guides she gives and you'll be fine. Also print out the lecture outlines before class
As long as you do the study guides, and go to class, you will be in good shape.
Not an easy 5 week class. She had quizzes at the beginning of every class meeting. She would say the next quiz is on chapter 3 but itll be on chapter 5. Shes so confusing expects everyone to know PSY terms and material. She also makes you meet in groups before or after class. Grade consisted of attendance, group project, term paper exams.
She is great at explaining her power points she gives good examples of the terms and makes the lecture interesting. Yet, she is too hard on her students very inconsiderate, she forgets a lot of students are taking other classes and maybe even working. Make sure your never absent take good notes and read everyday if possible.
She's hard, but knows her stuff. She gives her chapter outlines, use those as a guide because she will ask you questions on them during class. She makes the material interesting, because it's not easy! Do the chapter study guides weekly, it'll save time come exams. and she gives extra credit galore!
I have learned so much from Professor Fernando;however, this was one tough class. My advice to you, Do not miss class, take really good notes and DO NOT FALL BEHIND ON THE READINGS!! Make sure you do all the extra credit because it will help in the end. Her exams are hard; but, focus more on her lecture examples because they will show up on exams
Good professor. Hard, but good. You work for the grade you want. Two exams, midterm and final. One paper (easy). Read before hand and be prepared for class, cause she picks randomly on people.
This teacher is horrible. Most rude woman, talks down to students. Misses classes but expects you to be there everyday. Taught maybe half the quarter, had graduate students or students in the class teach by going up in front of the class. Learned more from her graduate students than her. Tests have questions that are not on the long study guides.
Very helpful, attendance is mandatory. there is one essay and two test.
This professor is what someone would expect in an upper division class. Her lectures are clear and teach you how to think, not to just memorize. She sometimes has the class teach each other for topics that are boring and harder for students to get, which helps. She has a midterm and a final and usually the GA will hold study sessions. One paper.
I wouldn't recommend taking this class , she can be extremely boring at times. Also test were very tricky. Don't expect an A in this class. Besides all these negative she is nice but stern. If you want a B- you must work hard for it.
This class was pretty interesting, however she makes it really boring and she is such a hard greater. She was absent 2 times and she still had her TA lecture. She host the study sessions on days that were not her class days, and she only host 2 study sessions, if you weren't able to make it because of another class or work, well too bad for you.
She's really intuitive, rather than staying lecture heavy, she has quite a humor, and eases that classes tension, when subjects get a little bit too complicated by demonstrating the effects or giving examples of the concepts into easier to follow definitions. Quite easy to follow and pass. Quizzes are put up online, and due before the next lecture.
One of the hardest class I have taken. 2 homework,1 midterm and 2 quizzes in one week. get ready to read.
She's taken what should be a fascinating class and made it unpleasant. She is condescending to students, she constantly changes dates of assignments and goes "I never said that" despite tens of students hearing her say a specific date or time. She doesn't encourage critical thinking, and she shares a lot of outdated + over-simplified "facts".
Hybrid course online/face to face. Quizzes were due Monday when are online class was Tuesday. Quizzes would be full in the blank. Face to face class had a lot of group assignments even on a big lecture class. Final was 100 questions. Doesn't give study guide.
I took the hybrid version of this class and I would not recommmend it She can be very unorganized and is not very lenient. She is a nice person but in my opinion is not a great professor This course requires a lot of extra time and you pretty much learn all of the material on your own She is easy to reach and nice, but i wouldn't do it again
She is very nice but as a teacher demands the world for only a 3 unit class. Feeling overwhelmed by the first few lectures is not a good sign. Speeds through the lectures. If u love hw and extra work this is for u. I've learned much more from teachers who give less work. if you have a job, other classes etc skip this one.
Too much to read, if you work and are full time don't take her. lots of reading guides print them out before class, and pay attention. make sure you go to class because if you don't you're screwed. you need an i clicker because thats how shell know if you're in class or not. you have 2 midterms, one final, one paper.
This professor is very strict. She definitely knows how to teach in order for students to retain the information and not just memorize it. The main thing I disliked is that she is very condesending. She would make assumptions and expects you to devote your entire life to this course. Do not take this course if you already have a heavy schedule!
Interesting, but very demanding. Good lecturer but has a big ego. We had an extra credit opportunity that took 4 hours for 2 points on midterm. When I mentioned it she blew up and said she will never do an extra credit chance again.
Dr. Fernando seems like a nice professor until you interact with her and get to know her. Can be very disrespectful and rude toward students.
There is a quiz every week based on the chapter we are going to work on. Focus on vocabulary. Need to show up because the iClicker counts toward your grade. There is one major paper due. She breaks it down. She is easily approachable when it comes to questions.
She pretends to hear you wrong to shout unusual nonsense to attempt to humiliate you in class but never apologizes for it browbeating power?
Totally unprepared, unorganized, shouts same things at students, doesn't listen, refuses what any student says, constant orders irralevant rules only her side asks for gossip for it, she is worst thing for any crisis or movement because she is the conformist, and she said most of that to class.
Do not take her online course, unless you want to teach and study the subject yourself. Need help? Shell tell you to find out the answer on your own and then come back to ask for help (makes no sense). 90+ long PowerPoint slides to read, plus read chapters, and take weekly quizzes. Tough grader with no helpful feedback on assignments and tests.
Had her last year, ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! I don't normally let "ratemyprofessors" dictate my final choice when picking a class but I wish I had. This teacher is condescending, syllabus is wrong, confusing, wordy and frustrating. Teacher is snarky and generally unpleasant, I left every zoom feeling angry and confused, really a bad teacher/class!!!
Sooooo much work and she makes it hard on you. Gives 30 mins for the final exam of 30 questions. Very hard to satisfy her.
Really a HORRIFIC experience. As a woman of color, being taught by another woman of color, this diversity class was the worst academic experience of my entire school career. It felt like she was literally out to get us. If I had to take another of her classes to graduate, I'd honestly drop out in my senior year. I'm not joking. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
Honestly thought she was a great professor. Quiz every week which is fine if you do the reading. Gives more extra credit than most professors and gave me good feedback. She is a sweet lady and genuinely wants to make a difference in social justice. Glad I took her class!
Professor Fernando's class is a mixed bag - the weekly quizzes can be tough, but she's generous with extra credit. Leveraging tools like Unstuck ai helped me stay on top of the workload. Overall, a rewarding experience.
Read the textbook and do the study guides! The quizzes are based on the bold terms of the textbook. I studied only those terms with flashcards and got a 43 out of 45 for the second test. Lectures don't do much but go over the previous chapter but she takes attendance so don't skip. She's understanding & let me redo my exam after a schedule error.
Is it legal to force 30 minute final for 2 hours university final exam assigned timeslot?
This professor is the epitome of gatekeeper. I had her as an undergraduate for a required course, and she graded so hard that it affected my GPA.She was very rigid and clearly grades with a deficit framework. Very judgmental about papers, and there are few opportunities to improve your grade if you don't do well on first exam or paper.
I still have nightmares about this horrible teacher, she was literally the worst teacher I had in every class, across all 3 degrees I have. I BEG you, don't take this class.
