Gorgeous, intelligent, charming, witty and sexiest voice you've ever heard.
totally awesome prof...english accent really helps.
good but must pay close attn to lectures/reading- quizzes are difficult/detailed
Very helpful and easy to talk to, very cute, makes class interesting

Grades kinda hard, but you write papers on fun subjects

Nice, laidback class. Not too much work and stress free.
nice guy, helps a lot, easy prompts, not alot of feedback though
Fun accent, laid back, grades kind of hard, but easy assignments.
very cool guy... does topics that are interesting

Nice guy difficult papers gives you time off to do outlines for papers
Awesome, he is a really cool guy, requires 3 12pg. essays, but very gracious

very smart, laid back class, easy grader but looong papers, really cool
nice guy, easy class
Cool teacher, sexy accent, very laid back and clear...

Cool guy, unclear criteria for essays.
he's HOT and his accent is sexy...his tests are hard though
the man is a genious, he is simply not of this world. i would change shoes with him in a heart-beat. if you don't know the brit you are missing out. read his book The Matrix
this guy should be fired he thinks we are in an upper division class beware do not take this class if you value your gpa
HOT? in a nerdy sort of way. Class goes too slow and his tests are just fill in the blanks.
His tests are difficult and he is unclear of what you really need to know. For some reason he thinks that this is an upper division course in Hum.
Mr. D.M. is the mellowest teacher I've ever had. He knows his stuff, and teaches it to you, without ruining your semester. Awesome class.
He is a very hard grader but can be lenient if you talk to him. Has a cool accent and cares alot about art.
he is the sexiest guy...wooo i would like to take the class over just to see him again...damn he is one sexy man. intellectual and very very hot too bad he has a girlfriend. id go with him to play any day!..SEXY SEXY I WANT HIM!
He is a good guy. Just talk to him and he will not forget you.
his tests are very difficult. he does not give specific things to study. so take this class if you want to fail. sometimes it seems as if lectures don't have anything to do with the tests.
DONT TAKE HIM! worst teacher i have taken. exams r impossible! no one in my class liked him. never gives reviews and no multiple choice q's- all open-ended and short answer. DON'T TAKE HIM! BEWARE!!!
Kick back class! Only major setbacks are the looong essays, but that is typical of all 200 classes.
Every single comment is right, do not take him, i have to take the course over again and i am not looking forward to it, very hard grader, for tests you need to use the book to get a good grade but he doesnt allow it, so look forward to bad grades.
It is an english class come on do the work show up to class get a good grade not that hard.
UK Native, loves to talk about "Media/American Culture"=the basis of his class, Buy both books, his lecture begins with the topic and tapers off into tv movies and music, big fan of rock music (ie Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath) Best Writing Prof.
Very Hard class. Unorganized lectures are hard to follow. Lots of reading and supposed to know specific details. Only good thing is high curve because everyone fails tests.
this is the hardest class that i have ever taken...he doesn't give any study guides and the tests consist of 50 short-answer questions to be completed within 50 minutes...save yourself the trouble by not taking this class!!!
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU WANT A GOOD GRADE. This class is seriously a joke! I went to every class, took notes, payed attention, did most the readings and got a D+. His tests are way to hard, and he gives you to much material to cover. His lectures suck!
This briliant British man should be the envy of each and every RWS scholar. His historical knowledge and witty persona are not of this planet. Talk about Lester Bangs and he'll love you. P.S. His ties never match.
Although he is nice to look at sometimes he is the hardest teacher ever! Fill in the blank tests and not a good enough curve. Definetely do not recommend this course. Good Luck!
This teacher is pretty cool. He's so laid back, and usually a little late for class each day. It's an easy way to take off 10 minutes of class.
Awesome teacher!! He's so laid back and articulate, and actually makes you want to listen in class. I wish he taught 200 as well...Not to mention, he's a major babe!
just rewrite all your notes and use the book for clarity and you'll pass the class. gives a couple extra credit and he's super hot!
Explains everything well, relates it to things we know about... drinking and partying (hes not stupid) so it makes it easy. Cute too
He is definitely a good professor for RWS. He explains the material well, and he is about 10 minutes late 95% of class periods
very interesting lectures-learn a lot in class- difficult tests, but pass-able class- really knows his stuff-
He's chronically late to class in the morning but never long enough to invoke the 15 min rule. A great teacher and is very knowledgeable. He takes roll so come to class. Pretty laid back otherwise. Overall a pretty cool guy who teaches very well.
class isnt too bad. a lot of notes but for the most part, its the accent that keeps you interested. if you like that hugh grant type, youll love this guy. *sigh!* cutie!!
Sooo hard!! I took it pass or fail and couldnt even get a C! Have to know so much. Readings, notes, and too many slides and details to memorize!
This is actually a pretty interesting class. The tests are hard, but passable. My strategy was just copying notes all semester and cramming night before test going over notes and readings and I got a C. Lectures online. Kind of hard, but he's so cute!
Although he is nice to look at this is the hardest class ever. There are 2 midterms and a final all fill in the blank!! It is impossible to get anything higher than a C.
This guy believes he is teaching to people who are actually into the subject not just taking because they have to. His tests are extremely hard and he expects too much for a 3.0 unit class. Be prepared to get a low grade in a General ed class.
Wonderful teacher, sooo cool, hot and hilarious with a sexy British accent. Way into the medier (media) and music. Good at French as well, lived in Paris. Coffee fanatic!

While the accent is nice; he's easy on the eyes, he is at least 15-20 min late to every class. He knows his subject, teaches well but gets off on tangents causing him to become weeks behind. Tests are very hard - even for majors in the subject.
i hate this teacher. he is arrogant and never gets papers back in any reasonable amount of time. Two TEN page papers and 2 other shorter papers. Very hard grader...DONT take this professor, he's terrible
This class is pretty simple as long as you like to write. There is nothing else to the class other than watching movies. Take this as your last class of the day cause class is always canceled.
Didn't learn a thing from him. He was not very interested in showing up to office hours or to class.
This 3-named-man wins the worst of the worst award! A pseudo-intellectual who thinks he's above all. He should be teaching in a 2 year college, no, better yet, grade school--this way he will be above all.
This brits the bomb
Very impressed by his lectures, very passionate about what he is teaching, not a easy or hard teacher, just gotta try to get a decent grade
Knows how to tell a good story, not fair tests. No study guide, not enough time to finish tests, and too much to remember. Studied hard and barely passed with C. Read all material and do extra credit. Nice guy, very cute, but don't suggest for Hum 140.
lot of reading, but notes on blackboard. he is hot!! and has a great accent. he tells jokes and little stories.
Classes are interesting, but grading curve on tests is ridiculous. Allows papers to be regraded, then if those grades go up he lowers everyone else's grades.
Very few grades (4 essays, one of which you can revise, another one which is based upon a play you see). Not that difficult of a grader, i'm used to getting like C's and stuff like that on papers, but i get B's on his papers.
What are you talking about??? NOT HOTT!! Such a hard class....impossible tests... fill in and essay and he always grades them wrong cuz his TAs are on crack o and they loose them btw.. we almost had to take one over. SOOO BORING-DON"T TAKE IT!!!
very simple class. 4 essays, and all the same pattern...talk about topic 1 week, conference 2nd week(you get the whole week off) 3rd week workshop, and you just do that the whole semester for 4 essays. shows alot of fun movies/films. and good essay topics
He´s really staright forward and a lot of fun to talk to. he gives intersting topics like movies, music, and theatre. He can be kind of tough on grading but he´s fair and gives good contructive criticism. lot´s of days off and he´s really nice and approchable.
This class sucked. He was always late, even on test days and still expects you to be done at the end of the period. Exams are very hard. Gives long boring lectures, and a lot of the exam material isn't even about the lectures. Half the time you just have to guess. Do not reccommend this class.
Mixed feelings about this guy. An interesting class, but he is a ridiculously hard grader when it comes to exams. So much material to study and you THINK he's giving you guidelines to help you study for exams, but he's just fooling you for his own amusement. Get his lectures online and you'll pass
A good teacher willing to help students if they need it. A little confusing, but you can always ask questions after class. Very hot!
Davies-morris really wants you to persevere. Class was really fun. Cool assignments. Not for a slacker who thinks he can get an A for nothing. Davies Morris is known for grading a bit hard. This is done to excell your writing. He wants you to really think. He also has really good class discussions. He can be hilarious. Black Adder Rules!
fun teacher. made the subject interesting. had a clear understanding of his lectures. esasys weren't too bad, can't be slack off. attendance is important. kept students entertained with shows and movies. if you want a pretty fun RWS 200 class, he's the teacher for you.
Hard class... cool professor. The ladies just love the fact that he's a relatively young Englishman. I got lucky for pulling off a C in the class and I really tried. The tests are difficult... he needs to lighten up on them. Nevertheless, he's a very interesting individual.
Hes a good teacher and doesnt stress out his stufents like most teachers seem to. Fun class!
It is a pretty easy class... but attendance matters! However, you don't really do much in class, just listen to him talk and watch movies. He gives you ALOT of time off, which is nice. Ummm.... he is from England so he has a tight accent and he's pretty hot(for his age at least)!!! Take this class, it's pretty entertaining!
so hott!! and has a hott accent!! great guy, great teacher, only 4 essays and one of them is on a play. and you get a lot of time off when he has conferences (like WEEKS off). all essays have to do with the media and your own experiences, which makes it fun to write about. def take this class!!
Turn in solid work everytime and you will do fine.
class consists of 4 major papers(4-5 pgs) and 1 pg ones randomly. nice that you get about 2 weeks off twice for teacher conferences(after the first 2 papers). attendance counts..he's really hard line about it. grades really hard with little explanation and does not teach anything about how to write. you can find an easier teacher for sure, i would.
He is hot and I love his voice. Class can be destracting. There is a lot of material covered, but go to class and you'll be fine. There are 3 test and an extra credit paper. Attendance is extra credit. It is not hard to pass this class. I went all the time and didn't buy the book and got a B.
Good class, taking what Mythology (HUM 140) to get this teacher again. Very laid back. There's a fair amount of work, but the RWS 100 class was so much easier than classes my friends had. He focuses on media, which keeps it interesting while you still do the work. Essays are based on seeing movies or watching plays. Recommended.
He's so HOT and I loved his accent. Powerpoint notes are online so study those. Very hard tests tho, I was looking through the tests and seemed to have very many C's, D's, and F's. I managed to get away with a C =] Go to class for EC, and do the extra credit 2 page paper
Very nice teacher. He is helpful and his accent is kind of funny sometimes when he says certain words. 3-4 papers and he gives you a lot of free time to write them. Don't worry too much about this class. Put the effort and you can get the A.
Cool guy
Really nice guy. This class can definitely be boring but he gives study guides before each exam. Just memorize everything on it (it's not very long) and you'll easily get an A. He offers several forms of extra credit too. I NEVER paid attention in class and I got A's on everything.
mythology. makes mythology very boring. maybe its the way its presented, but it is horribly boring. tests arent hard and there is no HW and there IS extra credit
Though he never has handouts and prefers you to write everything down, he is very clear and will answer any and all questions that you may have. Also, he knows a lot and is pretty funny. Ladies, his accent is sexy too!
I thought this class would be much more interesting. tests are strictly memorization which can be a pain, but he gives many extra credit opportunities. he does take role so you need to go to class, but all notes are posted online. the material was extremely boring, though, so I wouldn't suggest it.
I loved this class. He isn't always clear about his assignments but he is more then willing to answer any questions. The only problem I had with the class was the 15 page GROUP assignment, but it was mostly casue 1/2 my group wasn't all that great. Definatly reccomend him and am planning on taking his Hum140 class in the fall.
AWESOME TEACHER! Quite memorable, love the accent, he's a great teacher. Really learned alot, and his projects are fun. His class was fun to be in, and he teaches in a way you can really understand and learn. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Lectures are boring. I mean to the extreme. He thinks he's funny and he's not. He has only 3 tests in Hum and they're all hard, really hard. There's extra credit but they're not easy extra credit and I didn't were worth the amount of credit you got.
HOTTIE!!! This man is gorgious, and is a very easy going guy. He's great to talk to and grades pretty easily. But, sorry ladies, he's aaaallll mine! (i wish)
This is the easiest RWS 100 class you could take. We only used the book to find writing promts and only read two essays in it. There's only four papers to write all semester including the final paper [there's no real final!] which is a partner paper with a presentation. This class is cake!
This is a great class! The writting prompts are intersting and fairly easy. Prof. Davies is very fair and is willing to help with any questions, so its easy to do well in his class. Its a perfect beginning RWS course.
As much as I love mythology this class was a bore. I thought it was going to be an easy A but I ended up with a B- because I bombed the first test. Take something else if you can.
I looked forward to this class, but it turned out to be a waste of time. The slides are up on Blackboard, but he continues to talk about them in an uninteresting way, even with the accent. The only reason I went was because of the random attendance sheets he'd do. Midterms are not hard- know the myths and terms and there is plenty of extra credit.
i really enjoyed this class.
He is a great person just lacks some teaching abilities. Class can be a bore. Exams are difficult but he grades easy and there is a lot of extra credit opp. If your lazy and need to satisfy a ge class try to take a different professor.
Class was ok. Interesting fellow.Conferences were the most helpful part of the class.Very willing to help if you ask.The films he showed and the readings he used weren't ones I would have read or watched on my own but he made them interesting. The group project was good--a bit confusing until he gave more details in class. Loved the Black Adder!
Take this class! He is an easy guy to listen and really gets into the subjects. If you attend class and semi-study for the tests you will be fine. But for the test make sure to review all your notes because test subject is not always on the review list. There are three tests total and one small paper which is easy
Tests are very difficult. Must study hard to get a descent grade. Takes role randomly but friend can easily turn in paper with your info on it. You dont really need to use the book. I just studied his powerpoints and attended class and got a C+ in the class. Attendence is really important in doing well.
One of the best lecturers I have ever had in my 5 year college career; very engaging, thought stimulating and entertaining lecturer. You MUST study for all his tests (unless you have a photographic and recorder memory)! Some of the hardest tests I have taken, takes main concepts with a toss in of obscure items from lecture & book.
He's really chill, the peer editing was pretty helpful, and it's an easy A. I wrote 4 papers. One on my favorite tv show, a great movie of my choice, a play he let us choose, and then a partner paper about movies. Class was a lot of busy work but there isn't a lot of homework, practically none at all.
i took his rws 100 class and he ruined college english for me. he was always late (ill cut him som slack because it was an 800 class, but if you know you are going to be late, wouldnt you leave early?), rarely prepared, the material was useless and boring, and he was dull. i wouldnt never take one of his classes again.
GDM is easy on the eyes and fairly easy on the grades. The tests are very specific so be sure to study his power points as well as key terms at the end of each chapter. His class is a decent mix of discussions, movies, power points, and lectures in his delightful accent. He is generous with extra credit to boost your grades, so take this class!
This was the most useless and incomprehensive class i have ever taken. I didn't learn anything, all we did was write essays and our final was a presentation. He didn't help us write the papers we had a tutor, and i think i learned more from the tutor then from the professor. He is also an extremely hard grader.
This professor has been a complete inspiration, he is kind but firm and wants you to succeed. Whomever says anything bad about him is simply bitter, I earned a lot in his class, he is extremely respectful, a fair grader and always willing to help. If you want an easy teacher where you can slack of don't take him simply because you will be taking a
He was a cool teacher. One of the best classes I've taken. I really enjoyed is class. He does keep you busy and he's a fair grader. He also likes to ramble on about things.. a lot.. but that's just to make sure you understand. I definitely recommend him!
He is very easy on the eyes and nice to the ear. He is a pretty fair grader. Just make sure to follow the prompt and make it interesting. He's a very intriguing professor. He loves film and the theatre and could easily talk hours about them. I recommend him:)
only 3 papers. grades fairly easy. follow the prompt and you will be fine.had at least 6 off days and shows up late often. does take attendance and grade on it. overall he was easy and i recommend him.
Great professor, so far my favorite, couple of papers to write with interesting topics. Watching movies, reading small essays from the textbook, and writing about them. Overall an easy and entertaining class. He is very understanding and makes the class fun. I will DEFINITELY recommend him.
Great Professor, very knowledgeable man and has humor at points of the class. Loves the theater, drinks tea like there's no tomorrow, and has a great English accent. Fairy easy but above all has an interesting character (I think he has a scooter.)
GREAT teacher! i highly recommend him. hes funny without trying. he'll answer your questions if you have any and he'll let your revise a paper for a higher grade. the work load isn't bad at all. reading was light. watched many films.
Still no syllabus and we are almost done with the semester. Never know what he wants & we watch movies almost every class and nothing ever seems to go together. This class is pointless, and it seems to be easy but then he throws these curve ball exams at you. His voice puts me to sleep. I would rather sit thru acctg than this. I dread his class
He presented the subject manner in a way that made it seem like we were already supposed to know all about these mythological figures, yet he hadn't taught us anything. When he did lecture (rarely) I was lost and always find myself asking, "was I supposed to have known this already?" rarely prepared and his textfilled slides drove me INSANE.
he is never prepared. does this guy have tenure?
Wish i could have taken another teacher. I didn't learn much this term. I'm not into the accent at all. These other posts about his accent are ridiculous. He's old.
Well, everyone else below me didn't like Gareth but I thought he was a great guy/professor. I didn't know anything about mythology going into the class but came out knowing about all sorts of myths and interesting things. The class was pretty easy, yea he got off topic but we learned a lot. I never felt I didn't want to be there. I do recommend.
I hope he doesn't have tenure. Gross with girls.
pretty fun class, once a week, fairly easy, had to write papers. interesting. gdm is cute with an accient.
Great teacher. Always eager to help if you don't understand something. It was also easy to tell from the very first day of class that he knows his stuff. He is so smart. Funny guy, too, which makes class a joy to attend. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Altogether an awesome teacher. I highly recommend!
Fun class, easy grader. A little cague at times but overall good class. I thought it was an easy way to finish up my upper divison GEs. I was right.
I enjoyed this class thoroughly. I think that the curriculum pushed students to take the initiative to really get something out of the class. I learned a lot from this class and liked the fact that we were able explore material that interested us and then present it to the class.
So if you like organized Professors who post grades quickly on BB, he might not be the Professor for u. BUT, he is very knowledgeable and interesting. He does go off on tangents and doesn't hand back papers fast enough but the material is interesting enough and he picks good subjects to focus on. Easy A if u show up and read the book.
Most of the time he cancels class, and if he is there Always late. Only 3 essays, Must be there for workshops. Take him if you don't have any interest in learning about writing.
PROFESSOR GARETH DAVIES-MORRIS WAS A SICK TEACHER! HE HELD SO MANY FURLOUGH DAYS AND HE WAS GONE FOR MORE THAN HALF OF THE SEMESTER, I'D SAY. I HELLA RECCOMMEND HIM THOUGH :)
My last essay speech was about a movie with a student teacher relationship in it. I talked about how wrong it is and the professor looked uncomfortable. So did this girl in the class. SUSPICIOUS! Anyway, besides the cool accent he was just an ok teacher. Not great, not horrible just average.
THE chillest. Cancelled class often and showed up late often. When class WAS held it was spent watching a movie or peer editing our papers. ONLY THREE PAPERS!! can revise one of the first two.
Sexy voice and many interesting tangents. Makes lectures very easy to pay attention to.
Excellent teacher! Super nice, nothing to complain about. Interesting class, only 2 papers and that's it. Need to go see one play and describe it and the context. Cool British accent, lived in France for a while. Take him.. BTW got an A in his class
Canceled more classes than i can remember, was 15+ minutes late to ALL except 1 class. blatantly unorganized, i swear sometimes (b/c there cant be computer problems EVERY day) he was really "preparing" his lecture. study guides the DAY before the exam. i asked him how i could do better on a paper: he told me this grade is fine why am i complaining.
Never show up on time to his class because he wont. Do not buy the book all of his tests are based off of movies and his powerpoints. He asks for details in his tests so make sure you study people, places etc. Im a humanities major so it was easy to follow but it may be difficult for non majors.
ALWAYS at least 15 minutes late to class and has not shown up at all with no notice TWICE this semester. Its three weeks till end of the semester and we still don't know his office hours. Moves quickly and his tests are impossible. Average for my class was 55%; he had to curve. Took almost two months grading our essays which were completion credit!
Forget easy on the eyes! This teacher is HOT! I was swooning the whole time. I'm sure if that accent didn't distract me I might of learned something! Yeah, he was late, yeah papers didn't get graded until the end of the semester but its an easy A if you show up. He knows his stuff and its a GREAT break from the difficult boring stuff.
Bloody good teacher. This class is a gas. He uses a great book for the class, and gives you at least two options of what to write about for each paper. Loves music and pop culture. Grades very fairly. Takes attendance so you want to show up, but after one class you'll be hooked and look forward to showing up, t least I did.
ALWAYS at least ten to fifteen minutes late to class, tests are way harder then expected, he puts up a study guide the day before the test, took about three months to grade our essay, and about a month to grade the midterm. I would not recommend this class.
This guy has passion for what he's teaching, which is a great thing. However in a class with a format on having one midterm, one paper, and one final, points to receive are scarce. The class was enjoyable but just hard. Take it if your interested in mythology but don't expect the easy B to fill your GE's
He was late to class all the time and didn't post grades online, but I still loved this class. I didn't get an A, but I easily could have by studying just a little bit more. Take lots of notes because the midterm and final have a lot of exact definitions and names.
Syllabus indicated two essays, but we ended up only writing one (I only wrote 700 out of the required 1000 words) and he issued the second as extra credit. Multiple extra credit opportunities. However, mid-term and final arent really based on the study guides he issues but rather on the lectures. Sit in the front, he's difficult to hear.
Great teacher. He tends to express his point of view to the point where there isn't much time for lecture. Sounds great, but doesn't help if he's throwing tons of imformation for you to remember days before the midterm or final. For the class, we were assigned 3 books to read and a midterm and final. You must read the books and take good notes.
2 pop quizzes. 1 required essay, 1 optional extra credit essay in the end. 1 midterm, remember slides and fill in the blank. Given study guide, but completely useless. 1 final, remember slides and multiple choice questions.
He's a nice prof.,very chill, understanding, etc. It's ok if you're late every single day; he's def. not an early bird. Class gets canceled every now and then, but it's not really a BIG deal. Class is easy, just sit in the front row and you'll be fine.
He is always late and very rude about it. Not a good teacher.
really easy, but not every interesting. hes always really late and you dont do much of anything in class but its mandatory. if your looking for an easy grade then take it. if your looking for an interesting class dont.
Alway late. Grades easy. If you do poorly on an essay however, there is very little feedback. If your good at writing your fine, if not you may wanna look into tutoring however i love this teacher so feel happy you got him.
Great teacher..Do what is expected and enjoy the semester!
Very rude teacher. Sure he is late and constantly cancels class, but he never tells you in advance. There is minimal feedback, and three papers were due within weeks in which I never recieved a grade. Sure he is easy and laid back, but its not worth it. You get emails 5 mins prior to class containing pertinant information. He isn't worth the easy A
THE BEST TEACHER I EVER HAD AT SDSU. I WISH I COULD HAVE HIM FOR RWS 305. GIVES A LOTS OF EXTRA CREDIT.
His class is so easy that you'll rarely, if ever, need his assistance, but if you do, good luck getting it. I've sent him numerous emails with no replies ever sent, I haven't gotten a single paper back, and class has been cancelled countless times when I'm already halfway to getting there. It's a really easy class but has a frustrating teacher.
Easiest class to take if you have Dr. Morris. Cancels class all the time and is always 5-10 minutes late. Grade = 3 Exams (No cumulative final) 1 Essay (of your choice, based on movies you watch) and a few "attendance pop quizzes". You don't need the textbook, just take good notes and you'll easily pass this class.
Easy A. Cancels class, comes in late and postpones assignments. All assignments are fairly easy but the final project sucks. Ask a lot of questions about it. Easy grader. He doesn't take this class seriously so neither should you.
Dr. Davies-Morris is one awesome british/french man, liberal, very into the environment, fair grader and although he is not very punctual and seems to have a lot going on, he cares about his students, he might not reply to emails but if you stay after class, hes very helpful, im sad hes not teaching 305
Easy class. Take notes, attendance isn't mandatory but he gives out pop quizzes. never opened the book and got a B in the class. Easy essays, plenty of extra credit opportunities.
nice guy, gave extra credit and extensions on essays =]
Prof. Davies-Morris, is awesome! By far the best prof at state. Papers are easy, and you must attend class. He is super strict about attendance, but very open when it comes to papers, grades super easy. You'll learn alot from him, he makes you research topics that are interesting and easy to write about. Take him, you wont regret it.
Need textbook. Work is all written, no exams. 2 1500 word papers, few paper reviews & big partner project as final with 8 pg paper and powerpt presentation. Not an easy grader but gives chance for 1 paper to be revised. Extra credit opportunities. Grades are really unknown till the end, he just verbally tells you your paper grade in a conference.
hes awesome. he makes the class really interesting
Super easy, very helpful. You watch a ton of movies and then write papers on them, and after a few the rest are just extra credit. I actually didn't even go to this class most of the time. He's VERY willing to help you out if you ask, he boosted my grade like 2 letters by letting me write an EC paper.
He strives to help his students pass. As long as you attend class, take notes, complete the assignments, and participate in class discussions, you'll be golden. It sounds like a lot, but the content is interesting and he includes both well-known and obscure artists, and the class will leave you mulling over the complexity of American culture.
Dr. Davies-Morris is very knowledgeable teacher. He's super nice and makes class interesting. You can tell really enjoys the subject. The class isn't too hard as long as you show up. Occasional pop quizzes. The tests are the hardest because they cover a lot of material. i would recommend the class to friend. Not a bad exploration class.
This man is very attractive. I know this definitely helped me pay attention!
Had him at Grossmont. Loved him. Pretty easy, both in class and on the eyes.
Disorganized, ALWAYS late to class and didn't make grades available online. My whole class hated him. I'm convinced he writes his own reviews on here.. His lectures are scattered and he moves fast & unclear on assignments. He's always late getting study guides out, and the tests are filled with stuff that doesn't relate to the study guide!
His voice puts me to sleep, literally, no disrespect. He has passion for what he teaches, but at the same time he needs to recognize that he needs to slow his pace down. Study guides are on Blackboard close to exam day and his exams are in short-response format. He has pop quizzes and attendance is BIG for him. You can give him a try if you choose.
Go to class! It's mandatory but it really helps your grade because his tests are straight from lecture. Easy yet interesting class. He's got a cool personality too. Time flies by in class. Complaint: he's too strict about attendance.
Very disorganized & ALWAYS late (for everything: class, posting grades, returning assignments). He doesn't follow his syllabus & gets really behind but insists that the students finish all the assignments he originally planed (the last 2 weeks we had to read a novel, a presentation, 2 essays and an exam). Easy grader if you are one of his favorites
I loved this professor!!
Mandatory attendance, but it's helpful. His tests are a lot like his lectures, so if you go to class, you'll be good. Requires a bit of studying, but it's not a super hard class.
Great class, great professor. Attendance is pretty mandatory (pop quizzes), but it's worth it to go, his tests are pretty much straight from class. If you have the option of taking any class with Davies-Morris, do it!
Very passionate about his subject, but you still need to study for tests. Cool guy, okay teacher.
Awesome teacher. Do not recommend missing many of his classes, his lectures are basically the test. You absolutely have to study for the tests because they aren't multiple choice. As far as difficulty goes, as long as you study you should be able to ace most if not all his tests, great guy.
Talks a lot - def knows what he's talking about. But lectures can be boring. Don't really nee text, can look up everything online. Do the study guides and do the few papers and you're good. Does provide some extra credit.
Very intelligent guy, knows a lot about his topic. Enthusiastic about his subject. Don't need the textbook. Take good notes, pay attention, use the study guide. I thought he kept things fairly interesting for a class based solely on lecture and videos. Made me wanna take more humanites classes!
Look. He isnt going to give you anything, you definitely have to earn your grade, but it isnt HARD to get a solid grade from his class. Just show up (pop quizzes), take good notes from the slides and the points he writes or emphasizes on the white board, and write the paper. Study is more a reference than a cheat sheet or gauge. Hes passionate
A quality professor. Gave lots of help when asked, and good feedback. Was very understanding / forgiving of unforeseen circumstances.
Id definitely recommend this class with Professor Davies-Morris. Hes extremely passionate about what he teaches and highly knowledgeable about every topic and era covered. He made a class I was not looking forward to taking extremely interesting and enjoyable. However, make sure to stay on top of reading and written assignments! Great professor!
