Garima is really sweet and her class is fairly easy. She has an accent so its sometimes hard to follow along but she posts all the powerpoints to d2l. overall shes alright. not the best, not the worst
she was so nice major grades were easy, final as well. she wasn't to see all her student pass, even when i wouldn't to my work she gave me plenty of chances, felt bad till i actually started doing my work.
She's very passionate about government and why things the way they are, but her class is extremely BORING. She reads straight off the power points of REALLY LONG paragraphs and you're just like... Kill me. She's posts all the power points on D2L, but didn't really follow the syllabus or had one to my knowledge. Her class is an easy A.
very fair professor.. there are two papers and 3 exams. one project. she tries her best for you to understand the material
Prof Dasgupta has strong accent. This class is easy A. Just read the power points and had to solve some boring crosswords in class.
Professor Garima is a great teacher! I forgot to turn in a essay and she said I could turn it in the next day for full credit. She is willing to work with you. Gives extra credit opportunities. I would definitely take her again.
she threw us a lot of information before test and expecting us to know all of this!!!
Although she is a really sweet, I feel like she doesn't really know how to teach. She reads straight off of the powerpoint and doesn't really explain much, and also waists a lot of time. Aside from that she also makes very confusing papers, and she gives a study guide but half of the exam is something that is not mentioned in the study guide.
Incredibly boring class. I literally played words with friends the entire semester. Exams are from notes. dont bother getting book or even doing the review. Just read the powerpoints.
She is a sweetheart who wants you to try your best. The material is not easy, but she is very knowledgeable. The test are from both the slides and stuff she exclusively writes down on the board.
With Mrs. Dasgupta she does grade by a few things, but she does care about if you pass the class or not. She's a total sweetheart, With the textbook you will need it, but for the crosswords that she does. Notes just copy the powerpoints and the stuff she writes on the board, and you'll do just fine
1 essay, 1 project, 2 test and the final. Tests are over nothing covered in class. This professor knows about gov but doesn't teach it very well. She will tell you that you don't need the text book as long as you read the pwerpoint and then mid semester tell you that you need the book. I am a straight A student but got a B, would choose some1 else
She is the worst teacher ever dont take her she doesnt know how to teach hard to understand.
This class is incredibly tough. The first two tests were not easy. She is a nice lady. Helping me a lot. But not a class for students like me who do not like to study much.
Very tough class. Lots of crosswords. Test questions are not straight forward. But she is extremely caring. Helped me today in power point presentation when I went up to her.
Overall, she is a good professor that cares about her classes & their grades. She's been going out of her way in sorts to help bring up our grades if we aren't doing good on the tests. She does tons of participation group work, and sometimes her reviews are easier than her tests. The tests are worded weirdly, definitely recommend reading the book.
shes very cooperative and nice. Her tests are tough, but she helped me in getting a good grade. I will recommend her.
Shes nice and helpful.
very easy class. The first two tests were little hard. But she helped me in later exams, paper, and project. I would highly recommend her. She is a sweet Professor. And a person who always helps her students. I have registered for her summer 2305 class too.
Shes a total sweetheart! Took her both 2305 and 2306. I payed extra and came to Lsc to take her class. I am a HCC student. She goes extra miles to help her students. She is nice and funny. Highly recommend her.
I didn't really learn anything in this class, she was all over the place. She'll google articles when we should've been going over the power point. Difficult to understand the essays we had to write. She doesn't really put the info needed for the exam on pp. Never puts grades online so good luck figuring that out.
This class I got an A. I just learned her PowerPoints. Shes not clear sometimes. But I recommend her. Easy class
I took her both gov 2305 and 2306. I highly recommend her. She gave me good grades on participation and project. She also wrote me a recommendation letter for my nursing school. I highly recommend her.
Easy A class. Except some boring crosswords , it was fun . Highly recommend.
Professor Dasgupta is sweet and caring about her students. She does some group projects, and if you follow her power points(which she puts on d2l), you will pass her class & wont need a textbook. Easy class, show up, take notes, participate and youll pass.
Prof. Gupta is unorganized but Very easy class and easy grader. She is cooperative and nice. Though sometimes her style is confusing. I would still recommend her. She worked with me and helped me a lot.
This professor is disorganized, gets off topic quickly, and her assignment instructions are VERY vague. I asked a question about a writing assignment to which she told me to just go to the writing center. Even the writing center told me her rubric made little sense! I would not recommend her. Take another professor.
She is very nice and always wants you to do the best .10/10 whould recommend to everyone
She is very hard to follow at first, but the more you attend class, the easier it gets. Most of the information you will need to know or tests/ in class activities is in her power points and she almost always gave people extra time to finish their papers. I would defiantly recommend this professor to anyone!
She is not a good teacher. Her power-points, handouts, and assignment sheets are all vague, unclear, incomplete, or hard to read. This is still an easy A class because the material is relatively easy and she grades softly. Just show up, pay attention, and turn in assignments on time.
Class was boring, she read of the powerpoint, can be a little unorganized. 1 projects, 1 essay, 2 tests, relatively easy. She is willing to help you out, if you are at 89, she will try to get you the opportunity to bump it. Also an easy grader, I can't write but she gave me some good grade. Solid choice if you want to get the class over.
Tests were very similar to the online reviews. Easy A for me. I liked her, there were some longer projects but nothing crazy. Be respectful and she'll help you out.
Professor Dasgupta is a nice professor. However, be ready to only learn by powerpoint lecture. She gave easy daily activities like puzzles and word search, but how come we all got 80's for EASY assignments? Also, in all my other classes I made 100's on essays, on the project and essay for this class both were 90's. Easy class, yet still no A.
Took her online federal government class due to COVID-19. She was good, it was a bit confusing because she did not have a full on syllabus with the weeks broken down. She just kind of assigned work whenever. Two major projects at the end of the semester, and her quizzes were exact copies of her Q&A review sheets. Good professor overall.
Her class is boring as heck!! I bought the textbook but never used it once. She expects you to participate in class, pop quizzes do count for a grade. Does not give extra credit. Her accent makes it a bit hard to understand sometimes.
Took her online class due to covid 19. She has one big project, one essay, and three tests. Tests are from review sheets posted under her content. She is nice, kind, and helpful.
TAKE HER IF YOU DONT WANT WEEKLY/DAILY WORK. no homework, didn't use the textbook, no note taking. just 4 major assignments that you NEED to pass. as long as you ace those, you'll pass. but the material she gives and the textbook isn't needed to pass these.
Took this course online and it is a perfect choice if you have a busy life since there is only 4 major assignments. Effort still has to be put into these assignments but this professor is quite an easy grader. The reviews will 100% help when taking tests! No textbook required, resources are provided in powerpoints and documents!
Professor Dasgupta is amazing! Even though I took her online, she was extremely attentive. She would frequently send out emails reminding us of any assignments or important information. The course was very easy to navigate and she was very helpful. Most professors who teach online are not organized, but Professor Dasgupta is. She's the best!
Thank you professor Dasgupta for teaching me about Texas Government this semester! I have learned so much about this field and feel confident debating political topics and government issues in my circles now. Enjoy your summer!
Professor Dasgupta does an amazing job at communicating efficiently with her students. She sends emails almost every day about what we need to accomplish that week in class. She provides feedback on the assignments as well. The learning environment is very positive. She is a very caring teacher and provides the materials needed.
Decent professor. However, a strict "no-phones | no-technology" rule in her classroom. "Strange because I'm paying to take the course and we are adults..." Tests and assignments are VERY poorly designed. No emotion or passion in lectures. Overall not a BAD professor, but many others are definitely better options.
I have nothing bad to say about Professor Dasgupta. She is so chill and so good at her job. She is caring and understanding. Her course is extremely easy, 2 tests and the final, 8 unit quizzes(she has really good reviews that are almost the same as tests), and 1 presentation. Do yourself a favor and take her class!
Easy A. She gave us weekly participation and it was easy. She reviewed with us before the quiz.
Many in class activities but the teacher helped me. Very cooperative. Two tests, one project and one essay. Easy class
Professor Dasgupta's class is pretty straightforward. Her lectures can be a bit dry, but the material is manageable. Staying engaged and using study aids like unstuckstudy or ChatGPT helps a lot. Overall, it's an easy A if you put in the work.
Question for students who have taken GOVT 2306, in what format are the exams and quizzes? Are they in-class or take-home, and are they open-book or based only on review materials? I also see that attendance isn't mandatory—does one need to show up all three days of the week?
Very easy class. Got A. Grading was based on class activities, two tests, essay, and presentation. I wish she teaches GOVT 2305.
Professor Dasgupta is such a sweetie. She's passionate about government and Texas history, she keeps students engaged. I would 100% recommend her if you need to take Texas Government, such an easy stress-free class. She makes it easy to study and score good grades. She's reassuring and kind since some topics in this course can be sensitive to some.
Took her for 2305 and got an A. Now taking her for 2306 with a passing grade as well, her class is an easy A.
