Good instructor, especially for students straight out of high school.

My second semester. More notes than last time..but fun. Very fair and knows a lot about other things like financial aid.

Never thought a 6:30 in the morning class could be so much fun. I have him again this fall, 6:30!!

Mr. Bowling is the man hands down. His tests are pretty easy and the homework is easy. He has one project in the middle of the semester but its a piece of cake. Great guy and funny, id recommend him to anyone.

I just started off the semester w/ him. he seems like an easy A. Very nice. syllubus doesn't look scary at all. he is absolutely the best hist teacher i've ever had. i know i am going to learn so much. It is fun and easy! so glad i am in his class.

Awsome teacher i liked him right off the bat once i got into the class room. he makes me want to wake up in the morning and go to his class at 8am

This guy is really cool. He loves football and is fun to talk to as well.

Gary is a an awesome instructor. I took the class at 6:30AM!! He made it so much fun and I got an A. You do have homework & the tests are a breeze. Three response papers and term paper w/ a presentation is due. I would highly recomemmend him. I thought I was gonna make a C but I made an A! He makes it fun and not boring. FREE COFFEE IN MORNING!

Awesome! Had him two semesters in a row. A bit of writing but no memorizing @#$%. Would highly recommend if your a morning person.

He is a great professor, great sense of humor and very knoweledgable when it come to the subject. He provides the cofee and encourages the students to bring the dounuts. I found this class very informative not boring at all for a 6:30 am class. Enjoy and Have fun learning!

Actually...3 response papers..and you have 2-3 weeks to do...10 homework (over 16 weeks..takes about 10 minutes each)...research paper that you have 3 months to do!! Take home final and mid-terms. I am really enjoy ing the class.

gary is super nice, and really understanding i missed so many days. as long as you do your work you will pass. the papers are easy and the homework assignments take about 10 mins.oh, a take home final.

i had gary for both 1301 and 1302...hated history before but his classes were so much fun and he is such an understanding teacher

Gary's class is super easy but you will still learn a good deal. He's a great guy. I did most of the HW and wrote a few papers and aced the take home tests and got an A. I didn't even have to take the final. Take this class for your generals!!

We had so much fun in our class! But more importantly I had some other issues and he helped me with them...he knows everything about Vista. I tried to get my issue resolved for weeks...he got it taken care of in minutes. You rock gary!!!!!

Gary is awesome, he loves what he does. I had him @ 6:30am, despite the time, it was a good class, just do all the assignments and show up for class, and you'll do fine. He makes history fun and is very eager to teach. great teacher!

A lot of fun...i thought history was useless but our class brings it to the present. Very fair, very helpful. Do you work, show up and drink coffee and eat donuts and have a very thought-provoking time.

Great History Professor but more importantly he is available at any time for any reason to help students. All professors should have this dedication to helping students with whatever they need.

Took him for my SDEV class. Good teacher, very helpful, laid back, and funny. He is also very helpful if you ever have financial aid issues. Wish I could take his history classes.

Gary is an awsome helpful teacher. You must do the work but the work is not hard to do if you follow directions. He is very direct with what he id teaching. He does use the book faithfully. I took his History class 1301 &1302 at 6:30AM in the morning and was intersted in doing my work and passed with an A both semesters.

I took Gary's class for History 1302 for summer 5 week session. I felt like he biggest nerd looking forward to class every single day. The class is very interactive and everyone is so great. Gary only uses his books for the homeork. He does a lot of simple response papers. He is SO helpful & energetic. I wish he could teach my entire college career

my first semester in college and I feel so welcome in this class. coffee silly jokes and it really is fun and Gary is the hamburger happy meal lol great he also works in student success and has already helped me!

I reluctantly took the 6:30am class for Fall semester and but he surprised me with a very upbeat attitude, the tempo of the class is perfect and he is very much willing to help. This guy is awesome and I HIGHLY recommend him. Taking him again for 1302 6:30a class. We participated in group discussions but all great stuff.FUN!

Great professor! what I loved about this class, he always had a joke and played music before class to wake up the crowd. Do the work, simple, group work, interacting among peers..Overall, One the best classes with Great professor!

Gary Bowling will go down in MY HISTORY as the BEST & MOST OUTSTANDING professor I have ever had. He really raises the bar. He made class fun & entertaining. Lots of homework but its easy. I had him 1301 & 1302 & wish he taught more classes. He teaches @ 6:30am and brews coffee for the class. Welcomes donuts, tacos, & bagels. Take him & have fun!!!

This professor is awesome! he's easy going, the work isn't hard. a few online assignments and class work. usually let us leave early and played music at the beginning. He made class real fun :)

Mr.Bowling is awesome! ive taken him two semesters in a row! I wish he taught more classes! he does reqire text books but they are cheap he provides notes hes very easy his classes are usually 630 am but the class is really worth it

TAKE THIS CLASS!!! i know he only has 6:30am classes, but there are NO TESTS in this class, he has Homework once a week, and a one page paper due every 3 weeks. You do not have to take any notes in this class. He does group work every class that you debate between groups on topics( very helpful) . I would take more of his classes if he had any. A++

This teacher is amazing! He's very helpful and makes the classes interesting. You can come to him with any question, history related or not. He also has coffee available every class, which is a huge plus. Homework is easy but intersting. You have to think in this class, not just memories facts, which makes it even more interesting.

He's a great teacher. He makes history fun unlike some other during high school. I'm defently taking him again for 1302.

Gary seriously is a life saver!He is a great teacher! he makes the class so much fun and enjoyable! I had a blast and learned alottt! of information I didn't know before in this class :) He sometimes will even let class out early and usually when done with assignments you can leave :) class was only on Mondays and Wednesdays. 2nd time taking his class. Great teacher, who loves history & gets you interested. few papers to write 1/2 pgs. NO TEST! discus in class, requires oral presentation but very interesting topics, if you take the full semester you also write a 4/7 pg paper. I absolutely recommend you take any class you can with him!

This teacher is the best! I took his 6:30am class and he is always full of energy. The class is never dull, and the work is super easy! He puts all work that needs to be done for the semester on canvas so if you want to get a head start you can do all the work and be done w/it. NO TESTS or QUIZEZ! I am taking him again for 1302 he is AWESOME!

mr bowling helped me throughout the semester with anything i needed. his personality is bubbly and outgoing and he is always laughing and he's not strict at all.

Amazing teacher! I took him for EDUC but from what I head people take his 6:30 am because he is that amazing! Show up, do the EASY assignments and pass! I passed with literally 100%. I would love to take him again if I could! He is the most hilarious teacher, energetic, just exciting!

I took him for history 1301 and 1302 he is super easy just do his assignments and you will pass final is optional he doesn't give any pop quizzes or midterm he also gives extra credit and you do not need to take notes his jokes are hilarious just to give you a head up don't take him if you are not an early bird I would take him again if I could

If you are a morning person, take him! He's really nice and funny. You need both textbooks, although no need to purchase them because they're free to view online, just google them. He receives late work, and is really understanding. Don't take his niceness for granted.

To be honest, you'd have to be really lazy to NOT pass this class. He makes it easy for people to pass. There is a lot of reading but nothing huge like five chapters. I took his morning class and coffee was always available to us. He is an awesome instructor and very energetic for 6:30 am.

Going in the morning is a bit tiring but, once your there you get there. You'll be wide awake by his daily coffee routine

Gary is an awesome teacher I've taken 3 of his classes (1301, 2322 & currently 1302) Assignments are easy. He's very laid back & understanding. He enjoys his job & makes History interesting. There are opportunities for Extra Credit & the final is optional (I've never had to take it). His class is early in the morning but there's free coffee!

Hes so sweet and funny! An easy laid back classroom environment. You have one project/presentation & like one weekly assignment. Also I took him for my 6:30 AM and we had coffee always ready for us as well as creamer and sugar also like 3 potlucks

I took Gary for EDUC1300 at 6am for Summer 1. He had coffee every morning for us and he was really funny. He also knows a lot about other good professors, financial aid, etc. We were always let out early as well. We had assignments every day, but had plenty of time to finish them in class. I would definitely recommend taking his class.

I took his 630am flex and enjoyed it. This class is useful to learn things about NVC and other Alamo Colleges. Mr Bowling knows a lot about enrollment procedures so if you have any questions he is a great source.

This class was soo easy if you need to take EDUC do it with him. Took him for a 6 am class and I slept through a couple of them still got an A+ do yourself a favor and get your A. I did learn in this class and we had a couple guest speakers.

Gary was an amazing professor for my 1st time in college, I just finished his 6am EDUC 1300 class and he brought great energy, integrity and inspiration to the classroom. Always had coffee for us, and has a great knowledge about the system of college and does what it takes to make sure you are a great student. Awesome guy. 100 % recommended to take

Professor Bowling is my favorite college professor I've had so far. I took him at 6:30 a.m. and he made every morning a complete delight! All of his assignments are very easy, no final test, and he makes history incredibly entertaining to learn. You'll never be bored in this class, even if you take it at the brink of dusk! 110% would recommend!!!!!

I took Professor Bowling for HIST 1301 & 1302. He's hands down one of the best professors at NVC. The courses were straightforward and easy. He gives extra credit. I would definitely take it again!!

He's one of the best professors I've ever had. I wish I could take him again for History 1302, but he mainly only does face-to-face courses. But if you ever have the opportunity, take this professor for both 1301 & 1302. You won't regret it.

Looking for an EDUC 1300 professor, look no further. Mr. Bowling is incredibly kind and easy-going. I even ended up taking him for History 1301.

Next semester will be my 3rd time taking a class with him- because he is an awesome teacher! I took EDUC 1300, HIST 1301, and next semester, 1302. He is very kind, understanding, and helpful. Textbook is online, accepts late assignments, lectures are easy to follow, and you can tell he is passionate about what he does at NVC. 10/10 would recommend.

For teaching a class at 6:30am, Prof. Bowling is always full of energy and enthusiastic in class. He is fun. His homework is easy and if you miss the due date for a homework assignment you have a week to turn it in after that due date. Overall he is the best professor I've had so far in college even though its his last year. 20/10 I recommend!!!!

I took this professor for an early class before work. He brought great energy, started with current events, encouraged table discussions, and had us present findings. Projects required visuals and full-class presentations. Within reason, he was flexible w/ timing as it's a morning class, but valued engagement and class participation.
