Horrible class with an impossible final! He is not nice to students at all. Shows cheesey movies that make you want to sleep. Drop and take Petrides instead.

The nastiest guy known to man. He is impossible to get along with unless u have no opinion. Extremely disrespectful to students, not a good role model or teacher. Should work an assembly line where he doesn't have to be in contact with any human form.

I had this teacher for all of about 2 days before I went right to the registration desk and switched to Prof. Petrides for speech. He's really rude and has a retarded grading scale where you can't get an A unless you have a 95% (for a B you have to have 85%, for a C you have to have 75%, etc..) DO NOT TAKE SPEECH WITH HIM!!!!

this professor is wierd. I wonder why he so much bad reputation.

biggest uncaring anal ****bag ive ever met. he gives so much ridiculous work like that class is the only thing we have to do in our life during that semester. he doesnt listen to his students either and he isnt much help at all. i cant stand him.

One of the worst teachers i have ever had in my life! Please be aware he is very mean and on medication! He would take his medication in class! He has a problem and will not want to listen to any of your questions. Also will give you a test with questions he has never gone over. For a speech teacher he will make you feel horrible Please ignore him

The absolute worst professor I've ever had. Incredibly unyielding and unaccommodating to his students. Don't bother email or calling him, the ONLY way to communicate with him is by going to his office during office hours. This guy is ridiculously belittling as well, condescending in both manner and tone. TAKE MY ADVICE: DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS!!!

Prof Coley was an ego maniac. His directions were unclear at best and he refused to answer any questions. (Including "Where can I find your office?") He had more than one assignments which required meeting outside class. On the upside, he was pretty lenient with his grading. He was a total jerk though. Just entering his classroom made me upset.

Coley is wrapped up in himself-reminds me of Carelton from the Fresh Prince. He is nitpicky about unnecssary details and does not express his individual ideas, on the contrary he reads directly from the book at all times. He didn't teach for the last 5 weeks of class, we did speeches and then an "group assignment" with no teacher involvement.

Coming from a student who did ALL of the work and got an A+, I can say that this is the worse teacher I have ever had. He did not care about his students, was condescending, and only cared about insignificant details. If you're going into this class to learm, don't bother. All you will learn to do is use the correct font and formats. Save yourself.

I honestly believe all the good reviews for this guy were written by himself because the difference between the good and the bad ones is ridiculously obvious. WORST PROFESSOR I'VE EVER HAD. He's basically a spiteful, bitter, misanthropic ****. Totally condescending& patronizing. Asking a question in his class was like begging for some disrespect.

He is the worst professor ever! He gave me a C and I had straight A's this semester and he messed it up for me. All his work is pointless. If you r trying to fail take this class. If you are trying to do as well as you can DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!!

Please dont take his class. His quizes are very hard. Nothing related to what he teaches in the class.

WORST EVER! he really is the bane of my life. I have an A in the class, but he is rude, unresponsive, and inappropriate. Assigns to much work with no regard to any other classes AND lets us out late daily, again, not caring about next classes. Really NOT WORTH THE HASSLE.

this is hands down the worst professor I have ever had.he started our second week of class with a 29 page paper on 14 different topics that was due the following week and was never graded or returned. he gave long pointless assingments that did not improve our public speaking skils. He is heartless and nasty toward his students...DO NOT TAKE HIM!

Horrible. He can't teach, his lectures are not about the book and then acts as though they are. DO NOT take this class with this prof. Avoid at all costs.

He leaves a LOT of work and he is not clear about what he wants. NEVER answers emails, and is rude from time to time. Forget about checking the time on your phone, does not allow any electronics in class and if he sees it he will call you out and have a "serious" chat with you.

No. No. No. Run. This entire class was a months-long exercise in gaslighting. LOVES to take 50% off on papers for tiny violations of the directions he prints in 10-pt font at the bottom of the paper. I had to give a speech, and I swear a piece of me broke and regressed back to a ten year old when I looked up and saw the mean look he was giving me.

WORST professor I've EVER had. He is so disorganized, he even lost one of my assignments once and made me resubmit it. Gives sooo many assignments all at one time but never grades them in a timely manner or gives them back so that you know what grade you got on them. Makes rude comments and is super sarcastic which makes you want to scream.

The worst professor I have ever had! I honestly have no idea how this man still has a job. He is extremely unorganized and very rude at times. He sits back on his chair with his legs up and hands behind his head but then gets angry when we don't know an answer due to his awful teaching. WARNING: DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! He is the type of professor that is very wordy on his lectures, but doesn't get to the point(this also apply to the assignments;never clear on what he want us to do.) He has too much high expections for his students & never encourage his student to do their best. He is not a flexible professor.

As a professor who teaches a course on communication, he is terrible at communicating his expectations on assignments to students. He's strict and finicky about his requirements and is disrespectful. I would not recommend his class.

This teacher is disrespectful. Awkward sense of humor. Gives multiple assignments all at once. Does not follow the Syllabus. Expects us to work on multiple paper for 20 hours each. Stole Study time from my other classes. Refuses to explain assignments. Worst Professor.

Absolutely the worst professor I have EVER had at Montgomery College. Disorganized. Disrespectful. Wasted most of the semester, and then assigned a 3-5 page paper, 15-20 min. group speech and know-how exercise assignment within the last 2 weeks of class. Absolutely terrible. Do not take this professor.

Doesn't let student's give their chance to explain themselves, gets angry when they ask questions or ask him to repeat himself and overall I felt uncomfortable reaching out to him and talking to him. Safe to say I am not taking him again.

He is the worse professor EVER don't take him. HES RUDE and is very particular with formating. He hates we students ask him to repeat himself and get upset when we ask questions. Apart from that, he gave us a midterm DURING spring break and responded with "so? it's spring break, not schools over" when we asked him about it. Has ZERO compassion.

He is SO rude. Hates when students ask questions but does not explain assignments clearly. He clearly doesn't care about his students. I don't understand why he's a communications teacher if he's rude when students try to communicate with him. DO NOT take his class unless you want to have a MISERABLE semester.

Sucks, waits till the last minute to help or explain projects. Not clear, has short temper, and Expects us to know what he wants to be done without telling us.

He is tough to communicate with. The class was not challenging, but he would make it harder. He would expect everyone to do the speech like a professional speaker, but he forgot we are the learning students. I recommend not taking his classes, or you will get a lower grade or fail the course.

Better to wait for a different prof to become available, super unorganized, completely awful, and unclear, you want to succeed don't take his class.

The contents are easy to understand I guess. But it will get awful at the end of the semester because he will give a huge load of work to be completed in less than 2 weeks. So I don't recommend if this is not your only class, it will absolutely interfere with your time management on final exams.

Honestly one of the most rude professors I've ever had. For a communications professor, he surely doesn't know how to communicate with students. Definitely takes an Intro to Communications class too seriously and expects too much of his students. Take literally anybody else. You can get a good grade, but not worth the headache. Even online, awful.

Absolutely AWFUL. he yelled at every student during their presentations. He genuinely antagonizes you.He acts like every lecture is his broadway performance. You will not leave the class with any valuable information. In his eyes he does no wrong. Literally do not take him unless its last resort and you need the credits for prereqs.

Do not ignore the reviews. Do NOT take this professor even if it's the only one available. While the content of the class is easy and Professor Coley is a lenient grader, he is an unpleasant person. He's impossible to contact. Has no care for the feelings of his students. He leaves everyone in constant confusion. Class is unnecessarily stressful.

The dude is skimming the cream off uncle sams teat till retirement. Do yourself the favor and avoid this i[f you value time as a concept.

This guy gives community colleges a bad name. I didn't even know that was possible. I came in with very low expectations and yet this man managed to make this mandatory class the most unproductive waste of time I have had at this school. I took it last year and still remembered to come back here to warn others. I could go on and on but hers my lim.

When students leave bad reviews, you'd expect the teacher to be a strict grader, or not lenient on late work. Rarely you come across professors like Coley whose class is extremely easy, yet their lack of care for teaching and attitude towards students makes you question if the easy A is even worth it.

Comm 108 is an easy class but, Coley makes it difficult due to his strict guidelines with his assignments. Because of his vague directions in the assignments, it would lead to the whole class was puzzled. He's also pretty rude towards students, which I've witnessed. If you're reading this I would highly recommend you to not take this class.

This professor NEVER checks or answers his emails. I had difficulty submitting my final assignment so I had to email him after the submission had passed. He never checked and I ended up with a C for my final grade in comms. Any questions you have the night of a submission, you better just guess what he'd satisfied with because he will NOT help.

Coley is extremely vague when assigning and explaining assignments. Our class literally banded together to get extensions on assignments because his instructions were so unclear. The first day of class he even said something along the lines of, "If you don't like me, don't drop the class, change what professor you have." Take his advice!!!

I wouldn't take a single class with professor Coley. The way he treats and berates students in the classroom is absolutely unacceptable. I would avoid anything that he teaches. Montgomery College has some great professors but professor Coley is absolutely the worst.

Sometimes I come back to see if Professor Coley has anymore bad reviews, every semester I am left unsurprised. Between making an entire class disoriented or cramming 2 speeches and a final for one day, I pray that new students see this and stop themselves before ending up dispirited for their college career. He does NOT represent cc as a whole.

I took his 7 week course, and for the first 5 weeks we had a single assignment, but once the second to last week hit, we had a string of 8 VERY LARGE assignments thrown at us. I'm talking major papers, presentations, exams, etc. He is an easy grader, but he is an awful person and the work load is insufferable. I'm just glad it wasn't during finals.

Doesn't answer emails, website is confusing, every single person I've talked to in the class has had at least one issue with him. After class today me and 4 other students id never talked to before bonded for almost an hour over how contradictory and confusing this man is. Uses outlines so heavily it barely feels like a class

The professor repeats answers louder instead of explaining differently and gets impatient when students struggle, which makes it hard to speak up. He says it's a safe space, but it doesn't feel that way. Lectures are just him reading slides, and he doesn't reply to emails ever. Has a temper and gets rude with the students. Don't pick this teacher!!

Professor is disrespectful of students time, often giving unfair timelines of when a large project should be do (usually within less than a week of when it is assigned.) made it clear he doesn't adapt to students needs requests and needs. Does not give out study guides for exams, telling you the book is your study guide when it really isn't.

When the class had to give their speeches, he would stop them while they were talking, just to criticize what they were doing "wrong". Instead of waiting for us to finish our speeches and then give his advice, he stopped every student multiple times during their speeches with an attitude that any person with a brain would find distasteful.
