Very wonderful teacher! only 3 exams no homewrk. At first I thought he was going to be rough but found him to be clear and walks you through everything. Only thing is he is big on no talking and goes over rules 50 times. No attendance taken but is needed.

very interesting class w/ a lot of material to know. hes very to the point and sometimes he even cracks jokes. you just have to study really hard and read when he tells you to, i learned that the hard way it being my very 1st semester,but still passed

Great professor, one of the best. I had him in fall 86, he was fair and clear and concise. I remember his young son would occasionally sit in on our classes with his coloring books, and now he is prob. a college grad himself!

Prof. Crakes is a really wonderful teacher. You learn a lot in his class without doing much work. You take notes (he tells you what to write or he puts it on the board)and 3 exams and that's it. He also has a great sense of humor and will make you laugh.

Awesome, Very clear, understanding, and Intelligent. This class taught me alot and was easy. I took notes in class, There was (I think) 3 Tests and they were multichoice with some written. I think it was easy and no work outside of class is a +++

Honestly he's very boring and cracks lame jokes but he's a really good teacher, he tells you what to write and just go to class and study your notes and you'll be fine- just dont talk in class!

This class is an easy A if you have good attendence. The exams are basically made up of what he talks about in class. All you have to do is take good notes, and study them. No homework either.

Of all my classes for my first semester at Southern, this class was my fav. He makes it so much fun and I enjoyed going to class every time. As long as you pay attention and take notes, the class is a snap to pass

Dr. Crakes was great at teaching you so that you retain the information. He repeats things alot to help you remember when its time for the test. If you go to class, take good notes, and study moderately, you will pass with at least a high C or a B. He is a great person who just wants you to learn the info and keep it your future.

Not the most interesting topic to learn about but he is a great teacher. I wish more teachers took his aproach to teaching. He is very clear and actually teaches you what you need to know as opposed to some teachers. Take notes and make sure you dont talk or hell ask you if you have any questions in the middle of class ....

I had him for Intro to Macroeconomics. He is a great guy, is funny at times, and everything he talks about is relavent. Tests are not that hard, but you need to study. Over all a great class that, I highly recomend him.

Possibly the best economics teacher i've ever had. He is very clear and straightforward. He knows what he is talking about and is very helpful. Dont use your cell phone or talk in class because he will pick on you. Excellent teacher. If you can make sure you take his class.

If youre taking econ, take crakes. good teacher. knows his stuff. explains everthing thoroughly. dont buy the book, just take good notes. i took good notes, went over them for like 2 hours before class and got an A on all three exams. class is EASY, anyone who says otherwise is an idiot and/or doesnt go to class.

his class was easy, just not advisable in the morning. either reading the textbook or taking notes and looking over them is suffecient enough for tests. only 3 tests so make sure you do good

Very good. If you go to class and take good notes you don't have to read the book. He explains the material in ways that an everyday person, with no economic knowledge whatsoever can understand. If you come to class and do well he will like you, but if you skip class and talk during his lectures he won't regard you very highly.

Crakes is the MAN. TAKE HIM. the people who complain about him just don't feel like paying attention. The material can get boring, but his tests are EXACTLY the notes that he gives you. I wasn't sure about lecture halls at first but Crakes made it fun. He repeats materials a zillion times and recaps at the beginning of each class. The subject material is boring as hell but he makes it understandable and tries to keep you interested throughout class. He is so clear that you'll never have to question a point because he reviews everthing thouroughly. You will be bored but you will get throught it easily.

He will stop his lecture to call ppl out on texting, tardiness, etc. You need the textbook. Exams are multiple choice w/ 2 opended questions. He grades like this: 90+ A 80+B 70+C 60+D 59-F.

Great professor. Explains everything well. He is old fashioned and attendance is VERY important. I recommend never missing a class because he does not post notes or give hand outs. I had him for a lecture but got an A+ in something I was really nervous about doing well in. As long as you study your notes you will do well. 3 tests, take him!

One of the best professors I've had. He's great at explaining the material and his sarcastic jokes help lighten the mood from time to time. Go to class, pay attention, take notes and you'll do fine. I barely showed up to class, got a D on the final and still got a B+ in the course. Counts your highest exam twice, it really pulls up your grade. A lot more definitions and memorization than concepts in beginning, end gets a little more in depth but barely.

Great Professor, makes a boring class pretty interesting with jokes and tries to get the class involved in different ways. He basically tells you what to write down and what to study. He also explains everything VERY well and has impeccable english, unlike other professors at SCSU. Overall a great guy, get Crakes for a professor if you can.

Crakes was a good professor. His teaching style is straight lecture, but he found a way to make a boring topic fairly interesting. There are 3 noncumulative exams that are very straight forward. He really wants to see everyone pass and tries to make the material understandable. If you go to class and study a bit, you will pass. I recommend him!

Professor Crakes is one of those professors that cares about your future, he explains everything in simplest terms so that everyone can really grasp what he is saying. I am super happy I took him. He made a difficult topic easy to learn, and always held my attention. TAKE HIM!

I've never taken an economic course before and Professor Crakes made the topic really easy to understand. He only has three tests throughout the semester but counts your best one more than the other two. He's very clear while discussing the topic,+ tries to make class as fun as possible. I recommend buying the textbook but his tests are note-based.

Dr. Crakes is an incredible lecturer. He says you need to buy the book, but don't bother. Everything that he puts on your exams he covers in class, so seriously- don't get the book. You won't need it. Also don't talk or text in class. He'll call you out. All in all, I really enjoyed his class. I'd take him again.

He seems like a hard professor, but after a few classes you will soon realize he cares about the subject. Class is a lecture and only graded on the three tests. Tests are relatively easy as long as you put in effort to study. In order to do well in the class you have to put in the effort, but it is worth it and it is a great class. No Phones.

Great professor! He lectures all class every class and it does get boring but he is very clear and great at explaining everything. The content can get confusing but he really helps you understand the material. Great Prof., it's not mandatory to attend class but you'll find it much easier to keep up with the material (he will give random attendance checks) his general rule of thumb is that what he goes over in class is what is expected on the exams despite that there is more in the book. Makes rare jokes but is mostly on topic. Knowledgeable, great pick.

If you dont understand the subject then Attendance is Mandatory but if you already know it then its not. Class is based on three exams. Prof. Crakes online ASYNC classes are a breeze. Three exams and extremely little homework. Textbook is required, but save your money, as exams are 90% his notes sent out. Genuine guy and very respected. Take his classes.
