Professor Deel is a very clear, fair, & honest professor. He really knows his stuff, speaks from life, & supports his concepts w/ examples. I am currently in his hospitality law class & I have learned a ton. He encourages us to fully understand every aspect of the law so we become confident, well-rounded leaders. I highly recommend Professor Deel!
Gary is a great professor that really cares about all of his students. He encourages everyone to strive and be the best they can be. His final project, national debates, are challenging but serve the purpose to educate and enlighten, which they do. Come to class, you will not be disappointed.
I really enjoyed how he ran the class, he started out saying be prepared for the case studies in the chapters, but our class asked so many of the right questions that we didn't have many questions asked of us. The debates he had us do at the end were amazing! The best part about his class!
I have never been more philosophically challenged in a class before. Dr. Deel opens your eyes and makes you truly think about society. If I could, I would take every class by him. He truly understands the importance of education and wants to see all of his students succeed.
Prof. Deel's class was really interesting, he pulls examples from his own work experience and highly encourages student discussion. There are only two multiple choice exams, and a group debate project at the end of the semester. Attendance for the debate day's are mandatory, but I'd encourage you to attend class regularly regardless. Good luck!
Very enjoyable class, he knows how to make dry material interesting and fun.
He is seriously amazing! Definitely the best professor I have had in all my college years. Course is 2 exams, and 1 debate. He gives extra credit, and is so knowledgable, he doesn't know it, but he actually inspired me to apply to grad school, when I didn't know what direction to take. Take him! You will not regret it! Even at 9 am on a Monday ;)
I loved Prof Deel's class. He is very down-to-earth and is willing to help in whatever way he can. Only 2 Tests, one group debate, and no final exam. He is also very quick to answer back with emails. If you can take him, DO IT!
I liked how our final grade was having to do a debate rather than taking an exam or writing a paper.
Was very inspirational and makes me want to learn. Only two test and the majority of the grade come from the debate which should be taken seriously. He gives good feedback and breaks the class down so you can understand clearly.
Really cool professor, but he introduces topics that are so irrelevant to theme parks. You have to read a handful of articles for each class, as well as discuss a book about scientific literacy. He will go off on tangents, but it's kinda cool sometimes. Easy grader, test curves, but your final is a random debate- nothing to do with theme parks.
Professor Deel was Awesome! He was really helpful & his exams mirror the lectures. If you pay attention to the examples he gives in class you'll be fine. The final is a debate, and that is much better than a pencil and scantron or a paper. You learn about the topic of your debate and maybe get a new perspective. If you have the option choose Deel!
Took him for theme park management and the class was great! He really invests in his students education and wants them to have an all around education and knowledge. No text book needed all the readings are from articles as well as a Carl Sagan book which was very insightful. Classes are open discussions on the readings. Take his class!
Professor Deel is awesome! Debate for final! It is challenging but I learned a lot from it. A class worth signing up for.
Prof. Deel is absolutely amazing. A lot of his class wasn't Hospitality Law specifically. He has a lawyer background, so he would talk about law in general and current events more than anything. Instead of a final, you do a class wide debate that is awesome. Get used to public speaking. Would take this class all over again, he is awesome.
Prof Deel is an amazing instructor! Walking into Legal Environment class, I was dreading it - but he made the class fun and it turned out to be one of my favorite classes... 2 tests, 1 presentation, and a debate. I really hope to take him again in the future!
Great teacher. Really cares about his students. Assigns relevant articles to read instead of a textbook. Engaging class discussions about the real world. Highly recommend this professor.
Professor Deel is an absolutely incredible person, when you go to his class he opens up your mind to new thoughts and ideas. He is one of the few professors that I have come across that have this talent. The main assignments are, 2 online tests with a short time limit so take notes during class to know your staff, practice speech, and final debate.
His attendance isn't mandatory, however, don't just skip because you don't think you'll like the material. He has very insightful ideas and does a good job of entertaining ideas to social issues without pushing his own agenda. Don't need textbook at all. Do well on the two tests and prepare for your final debate! Great professor.
Prof Deel is a golden key if you want to learn and understand more about the complicate laws in the hospitality industry, I have two exams, one debate, and two options for the extra credits. Even my team was lose in the debate but I still can maintain my A at the end. If you lazy don't expect an A in this class. You will have work for your Grade.
He responded quickly via email to any questions or concerns. I enjoyed the online class. The course is not overwhelming, but you do need to keep up with the work.
Gary Deel is the best professor I have taken at Rosen, I have taken two of his classes already. Class is not super easy but not hard. He is very educated and inspirational. I defiantly recommend taking him!
I took this class online over the summer. He gives you all the assignments at the beginning, but they are not due until the end of the term so you can complete them at your own pace. I loved that about the class, but beware of procrastinating because it will catch up to you. He was very kind and easy to reach when I need clarity on assingments,
Professor Deel is really helpful. The online class included assignments, discussions, mini-tests, a project, a midterm which was a paper, and a final exam. It was pretty easy. Would definitely take another class with him.
I took Professor Deel for Risk management. The class was very interesting. Even though the quizzes are online he words the questions to make you think. He also assigns one debate project. The one complaint I have about the class is that the debate project doesn't have anything to do with risk management. Also he will go off on tangents.
The course is self paced. Great for students that work full time
Dr. Deel's class was entirely self paced. He provided clear directions and dates. You had the choice to be proactive or procrastinate. He checked in weekly and provided guidance whenever needed. The final paper was more philosophical than strictly hospitality, making it very interesting and actually fun. His class was one of my favorite at UCF!
I absolutely loved taking this online class with him. He messaged the class every week to check up and make sure we were alright, was always able to answer messages within a few hours, and made the material incredibly interesting. There was one 2000 word paper on a Carl Sagan book, but I went well over the word count because it was so interesting.
Dr. Deel was my favorite professor at UCF so far... By FAR. He's very straightforward and makes his lectures, which usually take up the whole class time, really enjoyable. There's a big debate at the end of class, two exams, and not many other grades but pay attention and do what he says and you should be fine. I highly recommend!
He gives 5 question chapter quizzes that are online, but only gives you 5 minutes for each quiz, not allowing a of time to go through book/power points. But he does give you a review the class before the quizzes are due, which makes them a lot easier. He also makes you do a group project that is a debate on a controversial topic.
There is a group project, a debate on a specific topic. This debate is your final, no test. Attendance is ony taken on debate days. Quizzes are given on chapters from book, 5 questions 5 minutes. Class is lecture based with Power Points but he gives you real world examples that can sometimes go into tangents, but they are entertaining!
I took this course online and Professor Deel really cared about us and would send us weekly emails. This was helpful because the class was self paced and would remind me that I needed to be doing the quizzes. He makes himself available to anyone that may need to meet with him. We did have a final paper but he answers any questions you have!
I took Dr. Deel for Event Administration, and it has been my favorite class since being at UCF. The class is entirely self-paced, which made it feel like a grad level course. He checks in weekly, and gives great feedback! If you do the necessary writing and reading you will do well.
Intellectually the best professor at Rosen, you will learn so much from him and it's enjoyable. He's more than fair and the debate he assigns is very well structured, he leaves nothing to question. Wish I could have him as a professor for every class, he probably could teach every class, he's that smart.
Gary is a professor that understands the student lifestyle, he doesn't assign to much to overload you, but he is making sure you learn something in this class. He is very informal and makes class very comfortable. 2 exams, and a debate with 8 people (4x4). He's an awesome teacher!
I really liked that this course was entirely self-paced. It also wasn't overwhelming as the only assignments were 12 quizzes, 2 discussion posts, and a paper. Any time I had a question, Professor Deel got back to me really quickly. My only complaint is that the final paper is based on a book that is completely irrelevant to the class.
Very good online professor. He makes it very clear what he wants in the syllabus, however, if you have any questions, feel free to email him & he will get in contact with you fast. He opens up all quizzes & discussions and you have till the end of the semester to do it. DO NOT WAIT LAST MINUTE TO DO IT! Other than that, I would take again!
Make sure that you read the textbook, as most of your learning will come from having read the book before class. He is very open to questions and dialogue in class, and definitely encourages it! Be ready to learn a lot more than you bargained for (externally from the class subject). He doesn't count attendance, though it helps your grade a lot
Great professor! He's funny and personable. Attendance doesn't matter, but make sure you do his online quizzes - that are due at the time of the class. A group project is the main focus, but it isn't too hard.
I really enjoyed taking this class. It is designed as a self-paced class which allows the student to concentrate more in some areas as needed such as the term paper and the quizzes. Professor Deel is fair in grading and does a great job in reaching out to the students on a weekly basis. Participation is important, so make it count. Thanks!
Prof. Deel is one professor you must take at Rosen College. His vast knowledge of the law and its application to the real life encounters of situations in the hospitality industry is remarkable. Enjoyed every second of his class/lecture time!!
He is very inspirational, caring & passionate about his teachings. I would definitely take him for another course. I had a family emergency & he was very helpful & kind about it, allowing me to turn in my assignments a few days later than the due date. Need to read alot to complete his quizzes but they are super easy with notes&book in front of you
Helpful, and inspirational. He definitely makes you think about situations in his class. I would love to take him again in another class. The quizzes and discussion boards are not to hard, just need to read the book.
I would definitely take this professor again. There were weekly online quizzes on the chapters. Attendance is not mandantory but there are scheduled class meeting days for any additional clarity etc. if you do your weekly quizzes , online discussions, and your term project (paper - fair) you'll do great.
Definitely recommend professor Deel he was very kind and easy to talk to. Handles issues as they come up directly and stresses that this isn't just a show-up and sit there kind of a course instead he really discusses topics so we all walk away with greater knowledge as humans. Definitely take him if you can!
Such a great teacher! Always is willing to help you out if you have any questions or if you are confused. Would definitely take him again!
Professor Deels class was a breeze. I had him for a mix mode class but we only met once a month and attendance isn't mandatory. Three quizzes and a discussion were due at the end of every month. Quizzes were 5 questions and very easy and the discussions were the same every month just with a different type of event. I highly recommend taking him!!
Took him for Event Tech online &really enjoyed the class. Does a good job of providing online resources that help in completing the virtual discussions. The textbook is a MUST; all of his quizzes are based on the book. Overall, good teacher, easy to communicate with, and he seems to really care about making sure everyone knows what they need to do.
There were only a few days we actually had to meet for class which was great if you lived on main campus. He's such a nice guy!!! Concerned about you and your grades. Course is made up of quizzes and discussion posts, all quizzes are curved so at least majority of class gets either an A or B. Would take again!!!
All assignments are open from day 1, professor gives good understanding of what needs to be done in the beginning of the course. Definitely good to have the textbook as well. Professor always open to helping the students and makes the class flexible and fair. Really great professor, I encourage you to take him!!
Gary Deel is such an incredible professor and I highly recommend everyone take him for Risk or anything else he teaches. His assignments are straight forward and there aren't too many of them. He cares about his student's success and, if you put a little bit into the class, you'll get the grade you want.
Gary Deel was a great professor. He has a mixed mode class environment so we met 5 times during the semester. I learned more in the five times than I had going to my other classes each week! You will not regret taking him as a professor! He is very inspirational and you will look at events in a new light!! Make sure you take him!!!
The quizzes are pretty hard but are straight from the textbook so as long as you read it (they aren't very long chapters) you will do fine the most I ever missed on a quiz was one question. The discussions are pretty lengthy (500 words) but always got a 100 on them, he also gave an extra credit assignment and curves grades if needed. He cares a lot
This class was my easiest class all semester. It was mix mode but we only met once every three weeks and attendance wasn't taken. On the day of class, we had three quizzes (about 5 questions) and a 500-word discussion post due with two 100 word responses. finally, there was a term paper, no final I finished the class with a 99% seriously recommend
Awesome professor, straight to the point with grading and with material. Only held class 4 times during the whole semester, but I still learned a lot through the lectures and the readings. Would 100% recommend taking his class. As long as you follow directions and give a decent effort you'll get an A.
Professor Deel is very knowledgable, concise and an awesome teacher! Instructions were clear for assignments, we met in class once every 3 weeks, so the bulk is on you to keep current with the work. No mid-term or final, an extra credit assignment, weekly online quizzes, discussion boards (optional) and a course project. You won't regret this class
Overall very great class. Took it over a short summer term and did really well. Discussion Boards, quizzes, and one project. easy
Professor Deel is great! He responds to emails quickly and the class is kind of at your own pace with weekly assignments due. Very good class with a reasonable amount of work. He really cares about your success and will help you in any way possible. I definitely recommend taking him.
Online course was simple. Work was due on one day of the week. Three chapter quizzes along with a discussion post.
This class was super easy. Quizzes weren't hard, discussion posts were interesting, and the final assignment wasn't too difficult. Extra credit opportunity if you feel like you really need it.
I loved having Professor Deel. The class was online for Summer A and was extremely manageable. Most of the assignments are worth 5 points but there is a final paper at the end of the semester that reflects a majority of your grade. Everything is outlined in the syllabus so there shouldn't be any outstanding questions.
Learned less about Event Administration and more on Carl Sagan and science. I felt as if he was forcing his personal beliefs on us. We ended up having to write a whole term paper on Carl Sagan's book (The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark) and on the importance of science literacy, it was very frustrating.
Discussions every week must complete a 10 page paper at the end. must be able to keep up with weekly quizzes.
Challenging reading and hard work.. but fun!
Had Professor Deel for my online Hospitality and Event Risk management! He gave a weekly detailed updates. The class consisted of mainly quizzes and discussion posts, so if you read through the book and the power points its pretty easy, and he's always there to help! Great Class, would recommend.
Awesome teacher, took him online while I was in the hospital-- SUPER EASY and also informative. Quizzes, discussion posts, and ONE paper. :)
The quizzes were easy, and the discussions were very interesting and left a lot of room for some really good thought. I would have liked to have had a more modern textbook, and while I understand why we used the Sagan text, I would have enjoyed more hands-on work. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this class! Would definitely take professor again!
Took him for HTF 3670 online in summer. He is a great professor and will help you and give you feedback.
Fully enjoyed this professor. Great, straight to the point teaching method. Hope I am able to take another course with him!
Professor Deel is a really great instructor that is straight forward with what he expects of you and his assignments. He is always open to helping students out and seems to actually care. This is the second class I have taken with him and I already plan to take two more! He is fantastic!
Professor Deel is a wonderful professor, he gives just enough work to where we do have a few things to do but do not feel overwhelmed. He checks in a couple times a week and ALWAYS makes himself available and ready to answer any questions you may have. The assignments are super interesting too! I would HIGHLY recommend taking him!!!
Super nice and always communicating with the class about grades. I have emailed him multiple times and always gotten a response within 24 hrs. I would definitely recommend!
I took this course over the summer so it was condensed. Mainly I just scanned through all of the chapters before I took each quiz - only about 5 questions each. some times they were very specific but it was over all very simple. Professor Deel is very easy to communicate with as well. over all would recommend!
Quiz on every chapter just make sure you read the material because it can be specific. Overall pretty easy class. I took it online and there were two quizzes and a discussion due every other week so the work load was next to nothing if you don't save it all till the last day.
Awesome Professor. Class is not mandatory but his lectures are intriguing to where you want to go. Coursework is quizzes, discussion boards, and an individual project but it is not difficult (you just need to put in the work). He is clear on his instructions and is always available to help. He is like a mentor and inspiring. Highly recommend!
12/10 recommend. Sure I got an A no problem, but the main thing is he really respects and cares about his students. He is a unique example of what a professor should be.
I took this class totally online, and it wasn't bad at all. The chapter quizzes make up a bulk of your grade, and they're timed, so unless you know everything 100%, they can get frustrating. Overall though, an easy class!
I want to get into events so I was super excited to take this course as one of my electives. It was great, 4 papers and 4 discussion posts. Prof Deel sent us weekly announcements which I really appreciated and he graded our assignments really fast. Def recommend. Not a very difficult class.
Great professor, really learned a lot of information in his class that pertains and does not pertain to risk management. Very knowledgable of the industry, excellent class.
Very humble, very real perspective, down to earth guy who asks that you respect him based upon your own opinion and thoughts, and not because someone says to, or from his titles, or what he wears. Eye opening teacher, who cares deeply
He was very specific on assignments, and didn't have unattainable expectations!
Took HFT 3670 online and it was a very easy class with a great teacher. Due dates where about every 2 weeks which is plenty of time to complete about 2-3 assignments. Extra credit option was available at the end of the semester and I would definitely take this professor again.
Professor Deel is the best! This is my second class having him as a professor. His assignments are reasonable and interesting. He has clear expectations and clearly outlines what is expected of each assignment. I would highly recommend taking him as a professor for any of his classes.
You go to class every other week which is great. His work is doable its one discussion every 2 weeks as well. his quizzes are tough, but read the powerpoint they help a lot. He's super attentive to his students, responds quickly. one essay as the final. his work is manageable, and his attendance policy is flexible.
Makes you want to be a better student and a better person overall.
I feel like I learned a lot more about life in general from Professor Deel. You will probably leave every lecture of his and feel inspired to do more in life, and I really respect that. Tough quizzes, but if you go to class, you'll get an A. Lectures are worth it! I would absolutely take him again.
The class was all discussion and paper based. 3 discussion and 3 papers total, and all were related to mega events such as the Olympics, FIFA World Cup, and World Expo. Professor Deel was a great professor, and I would definitely take his class again.
Gary Deel is a great professor! He is super organized, has everything listed on the syllabus (with great detail), and sends out weekly reminders/check-ins! The class content was interesting, and the assignments were very straightforward. Would certainly recommend!
Really enjoyed taking his online class for risk management. He sent weekly reminders for whats due for the week, which made staying on track possible. Easy grader, quizzes every week out of 5 points but he curves them. His discussion posts are very interesting and I actually enjoyed writing them. Only downside is everything is due 12PM
Gary is such a great professor and is easily one of my favorite professors at UCF! This man is full of knowledge and is very very very smart, in which he has 4 doctorates, fun fact! He is very inspirational and really wants us to go out in the industry and make a difference! I took him for mixed mode and loved it!!!
Law was a class that I was very scared to take, but Professor Deel was amazing! If you ever had any trouble, he was more than willing to take the time to help you understand, and he always did a good job at making lectures interesting. As long as you do the reading and stay in top of the power points, this class could be an easy A!
He is really great at responding to emails as well as explaining assignments and providing feedback.
Professor Deel teaches an amazing class. He is friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Treats students with respect. He is no nonsense and assignments make sense and make you think. No formal final exam - periodic quizzes, discussion posts, and a final paper taking a position on a given topic. Highly recommend!
I took Prof Deel online. This was the most organized online class I have ever taken. Syllabus has every due date (beware everything is due in the afternoon not night). A quiz and discussion post due every other week, not every week. Always responded to my emails that day, if not that hour. Really nice guy. The class in general was not hard at all.
Professor Deel was a great and gives good feedback on your assignments. As long as you do the work and meet the criteria that he has set, you will definitely pass with an A. I would definitely take this class again. The best part is he releases all of the assignments on the first day of class so you can work at your pace!
All of the readings were relevant, the discussion requirements and papers were doable, and by following the grading criteria you could score an A easily. The nice thing about this class is each assignment was due every two weeks and you could work ahead so it was a nice first online class for me.
I took this class and it was my favorite out of all my other classes in the semester. The lectures are really interesting and I learned a lot. You Need to read each chapter to take the chapter quiz, but if you go to class he covers each chapter and goes over what questions are on them. You have a small paper to complete and no final.
Such a great professor! I loved his Risk Management course, he didn't require you to come to class but you wanted too because his lectures were so helpful. He knows so much about the industry and the course has no exams just reading quizzes, discussion boards, and a final term project at the end of the semester. Would 10/10 recommend!
Professor Deel was one of the best instructors I took in UCF. from the first day of class he told us he remembers what it was like to be a student and how sometimes it can be bit overwhelming and worked with us by not making attendance mandatory and not having such a heavy workload. Also great communicator! and fair grader.
This professor truly enjoys what he does and it shows with how clear and simple his course was laid out! You will have to do a Term Project, the earlier you do it the better it is 2000words! Plan accordingly !
Never had to go to class. His lectures were just hour long rants all semester. But quizzes were easy if you study the powerpoints and do a little bit of reading in the textbook. His reviews for the quizzes are helpful as well. The final paper was a little confusing, but overall very enjoyable class. He is very real about how the world is.
Fun teacher who knows about the subject. Hes passionate about education. You will work for your grade but he is a fair grader. He discusses current politics while remaining respectful of all POVs
He's a great teacher! He really cares about his students and wants them to pass, if you put forth the effort, your grade will reflect it!
Attendance wasn't mandatory, but every other week he went over what was on the quizzes you took online. You had maybe 12 chapter quizzes and 4 discussions with which you had to reply to classmates twice. Powerpoints are online and I used the book several times for quizzes bc I didn't go to class regularly. Class was really easy. Easy class layout.
Really fun guy and interesting lectures.
I took this class online and it was extremely straightforward and not overwhelming at all. There were four or five easy discussion boards and simple quizzes, as well as one final paper. No group projects. Easy, but I ended up learning a lot about events. Professor Deel is also extremely accessible when you need something. I highly recommend him.
Professor Deel was great. Super laid back and interesting to listen to. Having the book helped a lot for quizzes. Attendance wasn't mandatory but every other week we go over what is going to be due on the following quizzes. I do wish that we stayed on topic in class more, so I had to do a lot of the learning outside of the class.
Highly recommend taking classes online with Gary, he's great. All assignments open on the first day so you can work at your own pace. About 13 short quizzes (you need the book for these), four discussions, a paper and an up to 3 points of extra credit added to your percentage.
Professor Deel was great! Very informative, loved the lectures, and all around an interesting professor. He always is super quick to respond to emails which was great. Clear syllabus, clear expectations, this would be a really hard class to fail. Textbook was helpful, attendance wasn't mandatory but I enjoyed his lectures so went to class often
Gary is a excellent teacher. He is very knowledgeable so don't be afraid to pick his brain and even with online classes he sends weekly updates that a kind and inspirational.
I really enjoyed his class because it was very interesting every day. Professor Deel is very dedicated and cares about your grade. Our class did not hat a final or mid-test because we had a quiz every week and I do think that is smart because it makes you read every day to have a good grade. I am taking another class with him during the summer.
He is a great teacher who really cares about the success of his students.
I love this professor! I wish I can take him for every online class. Assignments are due every 2 weeks. But you can literally complete the whole course in a month if you wanted to. Easy sectoral elective credit. I feel as if all elective credits should be like this. Easy quizzes, discussion posts, easy term paper. He's a cutie as well! And funny!
Super easy class, stay on top of your assignments and you'll do fine.
Very intelligent teacher, kind of intimidating, keeps students engaged
I really enjoyed this class. Attendance was not mandatory and there were only quizzes and discussions every 2 weeks. One project at the end of the semester, but as long as you put in effort, you'll get an A
Professor Deel truly cares about his students, and not only does he teach you valuable information for a career in hospitality, but for life as well! While attendance is not mandatory, I went to almost every single class because I genuinely wanted to be there and I feel that I took away a lot from his class. 100% would take his class again!
Professor Deel is by far one of my favorite professors, and Ive only had one online class with him. He gives helpful feedback, is very communicative, and genuinely cares about students. He makes his expectations clear and isnt trying to fail you! Definitely take him!
His classes are always interesting, but not mandatory. He's clear, smart, inspirational, and engages with students. Probably my favorite so far. Pay attention in class, it will be on your quiz!
Overall, the class was pretty straight forward and not extremely difficult considering the content being lectured. There are about 12 quizzes, 4 discussions about the types of risks associated with particular events/festivals, and a term project. Due at 12pm ever week, be careful. Caring professor but the course is basically self taught.
Very good professor. Took his online HFt 3519 class and hft 3670 class during the same summer semester. easy and very manageable work
Let's start off by saying this. This class is impossible to complete if you miss one assignment. I missed one assignment and I had no chance of getting anything higher than a C the rest of the semester. He is a tough grader. Why? Who knows, just likes making simple assignments harder to make it look like he's doing something.
Easy class. There was a strange extra credit assignment not related to events at all. I would take a class with this professor again.
He expects you to be able to do work at a college level, people complain but so many discussions were way under word counts, no citations etc don't listen to them. Great thing about a lawyer for a teacher is if you can logically argue your point of view he'll give you the credit. I'd take him for a third class
Professor Deel is honestly such a great professor! He shows different videos before class and its so interesting. He brings in real experiences & he doesnt make the class boring! Hes super funny too!
Great professor, helped you actually learn because questions were not just easy common sense questions or questions repeated from another class. You should definitely be reading the chapters for exams. MAKE SURE to take exams on time or early since he opens everything up early for your leisure. He also understands and curves to a B from average.
Prof. Deel is one of my favorite professors who has different way of teaching. In the class you learn to be curious not just about your major, but also about the world. After his lectures I keep watching inspirational videos that help me to be more productive during each day.
Gary Deel is an extraordinary professor that uses real life experiences to help you understand the textbook material in risk management. He makes you think out side of the box and has very interesting lectures. Class is not mandatory but enjoyable to attend. He is very fair and straight to the point. Deadlines are very serious. Do not miss them!
Professor Deel is my favorite teacher that I have had at Rosen so far. He is very clear on what is expected of students, has great experience in the industry, cares for his students, is readily available, and is very inspirational. Attendance is optional, but he creates an environment that makes you want to attend and learn more. MUST TAKE.
An excellent professor who is very intelligent but above all, he sees that he wants to leave a positive mark on his students over the material of his class. The quizzes are of two chapters. They are not difficult but you have to read the material and attend class although it is not mandatory. The final exam was a written work. with the opportunity
Professor Deel is everything you would want for an educator. He's incredibly intelligent and uses his life experiences to help you better relate to the topics. 10 quizzes and one final paper. Would easily take again!
I really enjoyed this class. Listening to lectures was never boring and always entertaining in some way. I highly recommend this professor, he really cares about bettering your education! Definitely take a class with this professor!
he was a great professor, and i can tell he really enjoys what he does. he sent an email each week detailing the assignments for the week, and they were always very clear. quizzes for each chapter, 4 discussion posts, a paper, and 2 extra credit assignments that were super interesting! i definitely recommend :)
Amazing professor! Super easy, just read the textbook a little and read his slides and its 10/10!! He really cares about his students. He always curves quizzes that average under 80%. Really credible and knowledgeable. Definitely go with him!!
Truly one of the best professors I have taken while at UCF. He is very clear from day one and gives you ample time to complete every assignment. He responds to emails quickly and offers as much help as possible when you have questions. I would 100% recommend Dr. Deel to anyone and everyone. Everything is due Monday mornings so get it done on Sunday
Professor Deel is one of the best professors at Rosen. He really is invested in the success of his students both in class and outside and will equip you with the tools you need to do well. Course consisted of: 12 quizzes, 4 discussion posts and a paper. Work is not hard but he is really clear on what he expects. I would highly recommend.
I would not hesitate to take Professor Deel again. His credentials are incredible, he shares as much of his knowledge and expertise with you as he can, and he is fair and precise in his grading. You WILL work for your grade, but thats the way it should be in the first place. Hes one of my top two favorite professors Ive had while at UCF.
To be frank, Professor Deel goes above and beyond in terms of effort towards inspiring his students. I always left his class wanting to try harder and that I could be better. Take his class guys.
Online class was and excellent pace while working a full-time job and taking other courses! Expectations were clear and professor communicated very well!
Took online and loved how easy to follow and understand it was. The subject matter was super interesting to me and I really loved learning about it. If you have any questions, he is quick to respond via email. Using the YouTube lecture videos he prepared made it really great to follow along. Highly recommend! Would def take again online or in class
Would definitely take this professor again! Besides that he is very good looking, hes always there to help you whenever you have any question about the course or any personal/professional advice. Dont think twice and take him!!! Material is great but if you dont ready you wont pass.
I took Prof. Deel online. He was a tough grader in that we only were graded based on our discussion posts, 1,000 word paper, and chapter quizzes that only had 5 questions each, requiring reading of the chapter and/or watching is lecture videos alongside his powerpoint slides. I wouldn't say it's an easy class, but I definitely learned a lot!
Inspirational. Always tries to help in anyway possible. Class is easy as long as you read the book. Is a very fair grader.
My third attempt taking this class and I wish I took Dr. Deel two, three semesters ago. Assignments are assigned with reasonable deadlines and were available to access during the entire course. As long as you do the works meeting simple requirements, should be easy enough.
Professor Deel was always available and welcomed any questions. His responses were very respectful and helpful. I feel that the class is an easy course, as long as you do the required work. He gives you more than enough time to complete class work and final project.
If I read the chapters I would have gotten an A. I didn't study as much as I should have and still ended up with a B. I've taken Gary Deel at least twice now, his classes are simple, easy, not a lot of homework (and if there is, it's easy), you just need to read. You do learn a lot though. I honestly wish him well, he's one of my fav professors.
Super straightforward class. He let you work at your own pace, so you could basically finish the entire course early on (if you wanted), there are due dates but they don't even start till deep in the semester. Project required a bit of work, but overall really easy class, with a great professor. He really cares; unique for an online class.
Organized, structured, gives clear instructions, up to times info and events. I hate when other professors base off outdated tech or events. I loved that I learned from events I didn't even know about. You have to read the chapters very well to answer the quizzes correctly. You can't just wing it buddy. If you do the work you will get a good grade.
Great professor! This professor is very clear in what he needs for you to succeed, read and use your textbook for the quizzes and do all the discussion posts (I learned a few things from them) and you will earn an easy A.
Took him for a second time and will choose him again. Take him if you want to learn. Took him over the summer and he was always there to help you whenever you had a doubt about an assignment or any question in general.
Ok, this professor is tough. Not because hes a tough grader but because he is very lazy with his quizzes. Consistently, he will quiz you on content from the wrong module or chapter. For example, I will read chapter 3 and take the timed chapter 3 quiz, only to find out his questions are from chapter 4. So essentially, he sets you up for failure.
I took Professor Deel online during the summer and it was a great experience. His syllabus is clear and to the point. The class is easy to follow as he has it all laid out for you. Stay on top of due dates and you can not go wrong with him or this class. Highly recommend!
Gary Deel only used 100 points for the semester, so each one counts. That being said, he graded fairly, the course work was not unreasonable, and the quizzes were straight forward. He checked up on the entire class every Monday morning and gave two extra credit opportunities worth an entire quiz combined.
I took his online hosp & event risk class Easy A!!! class is super easy mostly quizzes and discussion boards, he curves quiz grades based on the overall scoring so you always get at least a B on them. Other assignments were not time consuming and honestly pretty interesting. He's a really nice guy and would be happy to help you if you need it.
One of the best professors I have taken at UCF, 10/10 would recommend him to anyone!
Gary is amazing. He cares and offers feedback any chance he gets. He's also great at responding and not afraid to help students if asked for help. He's a deep individual with a sense of morality and ethics, and always approaches his students and teachings this way. He's a little tough on grading, but only because he wants his students to succeed.
Amazon didn't deliver my textbook until the end of the semester, but going to class I was able to absorb all of the knowledge I needed from his lectures. Lectures are far superior to his powerpoints. For Event Risk Management, he had a lot of amazing firsthand expertise that supplemented every lesson.
He was so nice in emails and everything for the entire semester was laid out for us. He reminded us every week if something was or wasnt due and rounded all the assignments. Highly reccomend taking him
I absolutely loved Professor Deel's class. You have two quizzes due every other week, 4 discussion posts, and a final paper that is essentially the discussion posts but longer. Attendance isn't mandatory, but I loved this class so much that I wanted to go every week. He is the reason I am getting my masters degree! Definitely take him.
I had professor Deel for Legal Environment in the hospitality industry and I would definitely take him again! He gives clear expectations, provides reading materials (book was not necessary) and he is quick to respond and give feedback. I learned a lot from this class and am glad I chose him for it.
Professor Deel is a great professor. Quizzes can be difficult, so be prepared to read. The final project is a 2000 word paper for both the classes. He can be a hard grader, but just do what is asked of, and there should be no issues. Fun and light-hearted classes. I learned a lot
Fast Grader!
Truly cares about his students. Unlike many other professors, assignments are straightforward and relevant to the course. Grading criteria is more than fair and he is always willing to lend a helping hand should you need it. Certainly one of the best professors this university has seen. Work is not overwhelming and is applicable to real world.
Deal was fantastic. The class was paper/discussion-based and I learned more from writing those paper then I would have in a test. He gives you the freedom to write what you want as long as you are meeting the guidelines in the rubric. The guidelines are easy to follow because the rubric is well laid out. Looking forward to another class with Deal!
Professor Deel was a pleasure to have. He seems like a hardass at first, but truly this class is an easy A. Get the quizzes done and do the discussions and it truly is a breeze. He gave us one final project that I was able to do in a few hours. He grades on a curve which helps a lot. His lectures are optional but include some great discussions.
This was an online class but was definitely accessible. Did a really great job communicating information and a very fair grader. Definitely recommend.
Took this class online, the due dates were always the same and he grades fairly and adds a curve on quizzes.
He shows up in shorts and Vibrims, which may make you skeptical at first, but he more than makes up for it with his content. The class is actually pretty interesting and presented in a way where its still fun. Assignments are engaging but not that hard, and quizzes may be tough but he has a clear curve policy. Put in some work, you will get a B(+)
This class was a breeze for me! Consists of quizzes, discussion posts and one final paper. Professor Deel has a wealth of knowledge of the hospitality industry, I highly recommend taking this class!
Great professor! Class was not mandatory but I really enjoyed his lectures. They were open discussion based so we could give our thoughts on the topic. Need to read the chapters to get good quiz grades but he gives so much time for them. Make sure to work on the term project EARLY and do all of the extra credit he gives.
Professor Gary is super chill! Hes not looking to trick you on the quizzes which I really appreciated, and is always willing to help his students when they reach out. He is also very inspirational and motivates his students to pursue their graduate degree. TAKE HIM!
Prof Deel was one of my favorites. Class discussions were incredibly enriching and insightful. He clearly knows his stuff and is eager to share with students. He actually inspired me to go to grad school! My only regret was not buying the book. I survived without it but it would have helped with a few quizzes.
Very good professor. As long as you read the textbook and you're adamant about wanting to succeed, this class will be easy for you. The work is somewhat challenging but this professor is there for you and cares about your success. 200% would take again.
He communicates really well with students and is also very fair with the amount of assignments and how he grades them.
The class was fine, but I don't feel like a learned as much about event administration as I would've liked. Gary puts a heavy emphasis on critical thinking and the works of Carl Sagan, which is important, but not exactly what I think I should've been spending my time and money on for this class. Other than that, he is helpful and knowledgable.
Test consisted of some easy short quizzes weekly, a few easy discussion posts, and a large term paper with two optional large extra credit papers. Grading on the term paper is harsher than I expected, but overall fair. Lectures are long but in-depth.
I can not express how much I loved this class. Prof Deel made it fun and interesting every class. Only graded on 12 - 5 pt quizzes, 4 discussions, and 1 final paper, which was really easy if you pay attention in class and have the book. I cannot recommend his class enough, I've already signed up for another one of his classes in the fall!
Do your work and keep in mind that each chapter quiz typically had 5 questions and you have a limited time to answer the questions and the quizzes count quite a bit towards your final grade.
Excellent online experience for first masters class. Look forward to having him again. Always available to speak with even outside of class. Very professional and fair in grading. You will need the textbook and you will need to read the details to be prepared for the quizzes. Would have enjoyed a classroom experience.
He was easy to reach and flexible. As a grad student life can get overwhelming. His material was clear and concise so juggling activities was easy while taking his class.
Professor Deel gives about one (Max 2) weekly assignments which would be a discussion and/or quiz. YOU need to go over the book before taking the quiz as their timed, very short, and directly based on the book. directions were extremely clear. easy and smooth to get an A. one final paper rather than exam is due at the end that is fun to complete
One of the best teachers at UCF take him.
Good professor who genuinely cares about his students. Doesnt make the class unnecessarily hard, and he made the class interesting and really got you thinking about the topics as you did your work. Would recommend && take again
I would 100% take Deel again. His class was really interesting and if you ever have a question on what to do on an assignment or why he marked something wrong, he is very easy to get in contact with. There was a lot of writing, but it went by quickly. I would definitely take him if you have the chance! I never bought the book and got an A.
I took Professor Deel online for International Events during Summer and he's great!! Clear grading criteria, gave us until the end of the semester to complete assignments, and always sent weekly reminders. No book was needed, he provides everything you need to complete the coursework. Term project is very interesting and fun! Take him! :)
This is my second semester in a row taking Professor Gary, he is AMAZING! He's always willing to help his students so do not be afraid to ask him for help. The coursework is very straight forward and very easy to follow. Do the work and you will pass!
Great teacher!
I loved every minute of this class. I also took him last semester for Event Risk Management and I was excited to go to every single class. If you have the chance, I would definitely recommend taking him in person as he is a true gem and will make the class relatable.
Love Gary Deel! I have been lucky enough to take him for 2 classes thus far and am even taking him for another! He is a great teacher who goes above and beyond to be accomodating to his students. You will not regret taking his class!
Second time taking Dr. Deel. He really cares about all of his students! simple class layout. Should have no problems passing his class. Would definitely take again.
I took Professor Deel online for International Events and he was awesome. Very easy to get in contact with and is a wealth of knowledge. He gives you a chance for extra credit and is also very clear in what he expects. Would definitely take him again.
Awesome professor
Professor Deal was so nice to have for class. He contacted us weekly via email to make sure we were progressing well and didn't have any questions. Class material, grading criteria, and assignment instructions were very clearly defined for the class.
Class is fine. Way too harsh of a grader on the final, which is a paper. Seems like he gives out random grades on the final.
Straight to the point on what was expected. Available if you had any questions.
Dr. Deel is a super kind professor who is straight forward about what he wants and expects from you as his student. Please make sure you follow his word count to a T. Example, if he says 100 words for a response, you will not receive full credit if you write 99 words. Make sure you take some time to work on your APA formatting as well. EffortA+
The expectations and assignments are clearly stated. Read the chapters and start the term paper early. This class is an easy A!
Prof Deel definitely knows what he is talking about!! The class consisted mostly of short progress quizzes and a discussion board here and there. I loved that the whole class was unlocked from day one to allow us to work ahead or slow down if needed. Don't underestimate the term project though, it's the hardest part of the class! Would recommend!
He unlocks the entire course from the start which is amazing. He's around every week with office hours and very responsive to any emails, but lets you work independently at your own pace with minimal set guidelines. Very respectful and helpful when you need him. No textbook for the class, everything is based on PowerPoints included in the course.
Prof Deel was amazing thats all there is to say.
Loved this professor! If you read the chapters from the book, youll pass no problem. Hes give us a curve on quizzes if not everybody did great which was nice and he was very caring of our grades. If we had questions, he was always available. I would definitely take him again if I get the opportunity.
I would highly recommend taking this class! Ive taken two different courses with this professor and they have both been astounding. He goes above and beyond for all of his students!
Gary Deel is awesome. He is very caring and sends emails often to check in with students. He ensures students that he is available if needed. The class mainly consisted of discussion posts and quizzes. The class content is found from the PowerPoint slides and the discussion boards make you think! Over all I would recommend Gary Deel!
Professor Deel is great! Very responsive. One term paper at the end, if you do the work for the class it is fairly easy! No lectures or modules if you do not read the textbook you will not pass/learn.
Theres not enough characters for me to describe how great and inspiring this guy is. Small quizzes but theres always a curve. No final but a final paper. He takes the time to help out students. Hell remind you when something is due out of kindness. I took him online , its light reading and powerpoints but light discussion and quizzes .
Prof. Gary is the hands down the best. Overall super attentive.
Professor Deel is absolutely amazing. There are about 12 quizzes based on the power. There are 5 writing assignments and one big paper at the end. Overall if you do your work you will have no problem getting an A in this class. He is very helpful when needed and really cares about his students. Definitely take this class !
Great teacher who really cares about your success. If you do the required homework assigned in the syllabus you will receive a good grade. Test are NOT proctored. I would definitely take this class again online. The topics were interested and left me wanting to learn more.
This class didn't take up much of my time, there's 5 question quizzes for each chapter which aren't bad if you review the chapter in the book and mostly the powerpoints. Other than that theres a few discussion posts on reading articles that he gives. Lastly there is a big paper at the end but overall its an easier A class w a good professor.
Professor Deel was amazing one of my easiest class this semester. He opens everything at the start of the semester so you can work ahead. If you have any questions hes quick to respond and will work with you, Overall hes great!
This is college, so there's obviously going to be a lot of writing. If you're used to writing, and in some cases writing in APA format, then I'm sure you'll be fine taking Professor Deel's class. The class itself isn't entirely hard. For most of the semester, you're either taking a chapter quiz, or discussing whether or not specific laws are needed
Such a good professor!! I took him this fall during covid and it was very little work. Discussions are easy and there are no lectures. I would definitely recommend taking him.
Professor is super nice and understanding. responds to emails very quick. His quizzes are tough though so be sure to read PPTs and watch lectures.
Dr. Deel does not overload with work and you can work ahead which makes it so much easier. His deadlines are firm but, you have adequate time to complete assignments. 4 discussions, 1 term paper and 12 quizzes.
Easy, keep yourself on track
There are very few assignments for this class only 14 quizzes throughout the whole class and a couple of discussion posts which are easy. If you get one question wrong on a quiz it takes away one point from your final grade because there are so few assignments. There is extra credit offered but if you do not know anything about law be careful.
Super straightforward class. He let you work at your own pace, so you could basically finish the entire course early on (if you wanted), there are due dates but they don't even start till deep in the semester. Project required a bit of work, but overall really easy class, with a great professor. He really cares. I took him in person.
Dr Deel was awesome! Super nice guy, responds quickly, and is super helpful! Class was made up of 4 papers and 4 discussions that were all thought-provoking! Would take him again for sure!
Online classes can be confusing at times but his was very straight forward! I learned a lot in his class.
I thought the legal environment was going to be my hardest class, ended with a high A! You have to put in the effort to study, the quizzes are not ridiculously difficult. He grades on a B curve, which he explains why in his course. The final paper is at least 2,000 words but not difficult if you have paid attention all semester. Highly recommend!
I really loved this class with Professor Deel. I was nervous because all of the assignments were writing based (papers or discussion boards), but as long as you do the reading he suggests, writing is a breeze! His feedback is helpful and if you ever don't understand something, Professor Deel is ready to help in office hours or via email.
Dr Deel is an excellent professor. His class dynamic is very organized and well planned. Be prepared to read, but only exciting and useful articles.
This professor was a good professor! He was always available outside of class when you needed it, through zoom or email. Participation is necessary but as long as you post your discussions on time and respond to peers the required amount, its easy. The papers were the most "difficult" part but mostly because he isn't clear about citation issues.
Informative and always available to assist when needed
Quizzes are tough but he will help with your grade. For sure a solid choice
Dr. Deep was a great choice for HFT 3603! The class had a solid amount of quizzes and a few discussions that were interesting! The final was a term paper that was pretty lengthy but if you put in some effort you will pass! He also responds quickly and gives really good feedback!
This was a mixed mode class. Face to face class meetings were optional, and he always had a zoom hour for additional help. Easy to talk to. If you do the work you will pass the class.
Professor Deel cared a lot about his students and tried to make the class as interesting as he could. He had a lot of interesting stories. There are chapter quizzes and a few discussion posts. The only thing to watch out for is the term paper because it counts for a lot of your grade so don't wait till the last minute. Overall pretty good class!
Ive taken multiple classes with Professor Gary Deel. Each class I knew exactly what to expect from him. Amazing professor and very accessible. Really cares and sets up zoom meetings where you can pop in and ask questions.
The assignments this professor provided were challenging, but I feel that I have a thorough understanding of writing RFPs. I recommend taking this professor if you're serious about your career. My one piece of advice would be to make sure your APA reference format is absolutely correct. Do NOT just use a citation generator! They are not accurate!
Professor Gary is the best professor ive had this entire degree. I chose to take this class in my very last semester of my Bachelor Degree. He is an amazing person and very knowledgeable. If you have a question or want to talk to Professor Deel, he will respond quickly and with intent. He wants you to pass! 100% would take again.
Theres minimal work for the class. Hes really nice and sends weekly reminders even when there isnt anything due that week. Everything is unlocked the whole semester so you can work ahead if you like. Every 2 or 3 weeks theres a 5 question quiz and a discussion post on an article he wrote, and theyre so easy. Easy Class, learn a lot, cool prof.
Class schedule gives time to work on homework, there are 2 chapter quizzes every 2 weeks, extra credit, and a term paper. Professor Gary Deel gives clear grading criteria and is very organized and punctual with grading. He also writes amazing articles that are short, relevant, and interesting.
I took Dr. Gary Deel for international tourism. I really enjoyed the class and learned a lot from the topics that were given. It is a lot of research however the topics are very interesting.
Quizzes are a little bit harder because they are only 5 questions. This means if you miss one question you get an 80. He graded on a B curve though. You do not need the book. 3 discussions. One term paper. One E.C. assignment available and the quizzes. Make sure you do well on the quizzes and youll be fine. Hes responsive. He cares!!
Professor Deel is a caring and knowledgeable professor. One of the best online classes I took. He checked in every week and gives you interesting articles to read. You will be graded on chapter quizzes and some discussion posts that were always interesting and engaging. There was a term paper instead of a final exam. Do not procrastinate on this.
Highly recommend!! Great professor, reading the material matters for all the quizzes but it's not a tone. His instructions are clear so if you do your assignments, you'll get an A.
Easy going class. Never really used the textbook at all. Uses powerpoints for lectures and additional info on the side. Mainly had 8 papers, 3 discussions, and a project. But everything is spaced out si you are not overwelmed. This was my second class with porfessor Deel. He is quick to grade papers and respond to emails. Amazing teacher!
Mr. Deel was great and enjoyed his class. He wants you to do well and helps you when ever its needed.
This class was one of the best and easiest classes I have taken at UCF. Your grade consists of 4 discussions, 14 quizzes (most of the answers are found on Quizlet, but the textbook did help you with some of them), and a 2,000 page APA format paper, that is very easy to do. He also offers you extra credit which can boost your grade by 5 points!!!!
Perfect
I plan on taking Professor Deel again! There is a textbook (recommend buying it for the project).. Class includes a few discussion boards and quizzes - most of quiz material comes from his lectures - attend his class in person! He's easily accessible outside of class & grades assignments quickly. HFT3607 was interesting & easy if you participate!
He is truly incredible. His classes are to-the-point, and they go beyond just learning academic material. He focuses on teaching valuable lessons that will stick with you. He is an extremely respectable professor - so passionate and always there to support you and help you grow. I would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat. Thank you, Professor Deel!
Great Professor. Respectful of your point of view.
Unfortunately my original professor passed away mid-semester and Dr. Deel was the professor who took over for the class and he was absolutely amazing! 10/10 would recommend.
Professor Deel was an amazing teacher. Unfortunately, my original teacher for this class passed in the beginning of the semester and Deel took over and did an amazing job. Was very understanding and wanted the best for all of us. 10/10 would take again and hoping I get him for more classes. Very straight forward and wants you to succeed.
This summer I took HFT 4468 and I was afraid since other professors have terrible grading. However I 100% recommend taking the course with professor Gary Deel the grading was very clear from the begging. Make sure you follow the word count for discussions and replies. Midterm and final exams are open questions, time was unlimited.
Professor Deel was an awesome instructor for this online course. We had interesting topics that we covered and great discussions throughout!
You can complain nothing about professor G
Made law and ethics a breeze.
Take him or do not take the class at all. Because there is nobody better
Great professor! The class is difficult especially not having a background or previous knowledge in any law but he teaches it in a way where I actually learned and was able to participate in discussions.
This is a the type of class that you would expect to be extremely difficult. Gary Deel makes it the opposite! As a non-law student, the content was broken down in a way that was interesting and digestible for me. Even if the weekly case was confusing, the discussions we had were able to clarify any questions I had. I would take the class again!
This class is easy if you pay attention. Attendance is mandatory to a certain extent. He grades based on participating in class But it's only 10 points so you don't necessarily have to show up to every class
Dr. Deel is very hard working and a great law professor. Attendance isn't mandatory, however you do need participation points which requires you to talk in class. Don't be worried, he is aware we have no knowledge of law, he is always willing to help, just try your best! Discussion posts aren't too hard, and the final paper is quite interesting!
I really enjoyed Professor Deel's class. The assignments are chapter quizzes and discussion posts due every three weeks. The quiz answers come straight from the textbook and the discussion posts are about different topics in the hospitality legal world. The final is a paper but still very reasonable. I would definitely take Professor Deel again.
I honestly loved this course. It is about 14 quizzes all worth 5 points and a final research paper project worth 20. No final exam. It was probably one of my favorite classes throughout college! Super good at grading on a curve as well.
Carefully read the case and look up anything you don't immediately understand. Gary was open to letting students take the conversation in new directions to relate topics to personal experiences. This allowed for great discussions to unfold each class.Standards for the coursework were straightforward as mentioned in the syllabus.
Dr. Deel was very passionate and a great teacher. Attendance isn't mandatory, however you do get participation points from speaking in class. Its intimidating, but you learn a lot and he doesn't expect you to know everything and he's happy to help. There are nice discussions and an interesting term paper. Overall a good class!
I had a great class with Dr. Deel. He will appreciate your participation even if you're unsure of your answer. Even though this was a law class, the lectures were very light and easy to understand. As long as you submit your assignments and get participation points, you will not have any problems with this class.
Professor recommends textbook but I never use it and passed. It is a lot of writing. No exams. I had him in other classes before and he is always there to help when you ask. Be careful on the due date time.
Loooved this class because of the professor. Super flexible, helpful, and knowledgeable. Make sure you read the cases and engage. It makes class 10x funner when you understand what is being talked about. It's also important information. If you have to take law and ethics take it with this professor!
Mr Deel makes learning the priority and was very helpful and provides good feedback.
Really good professor. A lot of reading and googling for this class though
Love love love Prof Deel. He does an amazing job of engaging every student in his lectures and provides knowledgeable content and information. He is very inspirational and upfront while all at the same time being respectful. Truly one of the best professors I've had in my undergrad career.
Professor Deel is not only an amazing professor and very knowledgable about the field, but also is a great person. Many great class discussions about his useful experience and about deeper topics as well, which have inspired me towards the future. Wish I could take another course of his in the future!
Gary Deel is a lifetime learner who provides a culmination of his knowledge in an easy to understand course. He is casual, unafraid, and direct. That said, he gives clear guidelines for each assignment and the class as a whole. He has inspired a better human in me and I highly recommend him as a professor.
Professor Deel is amazing! I enjoyed going to his lectures each week as they are largely discussion-based and are always really interesting. He offers extra credit opportunities and makes his deadlines and grading criteria well known. He's always available to help. Quizzes, discussion posts, and one big paper but very doable. Take him!!!
Professor Deel has been one of my favorite professors so far. Attendance is not required but his lectures are very helpful for the quizzes. He also has written articles that correspond to each case we go over which makes them a lot easier to understand. Professor Deel is strict on no late work but does a great job reminding you what is due.
Attendance not required, but extremely beneficial. Respectful of students and their time by not giving too much work. Work was challenging but grades accounted for the difficulty so students could focus on learning the material instead of just trying to pass.
Professor Deel was absolutely amazing! He provides the textbook himself and his instructions and grading policies are super clear. His lectures aren't mandatory but are super great and interactive. The courseload is light, but make sure you're paying attention to the lectures/cases. Not only is he a great professor, he is also a great person.
One of my favorite professors I've had at UCF. Attendance isn't required but does help a lot when it comes to quizzes. Great lectures and really easy to manage workload!
Follow the syllabus and you'll be fine. There's a term paper due, so get that started soon. Great professor!
Professor Deel is amazing. Take him if you can! He's brilliant and knows so much about so many different topics. His lectures are interesting.Class isn't mandatory but it's once a week and he cares about his students so go.He's fair and give extra credit. I wish I could take him for more classes.
LOVE HIM! He is such a great professor. He genuinely cares about his students. Attendance is not mandatory but he makes class really fun and interesting. This class has inspired me to go to law school. He respects his students and speaks to us like equals. As long as you do the reading, you'll pass. I wish I could take more classes with him!!
Professor Deel's class is very clearly laid out. It includes 12 quizzes based on cases you read about in the textbook, 250-word discussion posts each week, 100-word replies to two peers, and a term paper. All assignments are due at 6 p.m. There is an extra credit opportunity for up to 5 points. The quizzes are graded on a B curve.
If you have the option to take him, do it. He has been such an inspiring and moving professor. Class is not mandatory, but GO!! He gives excellent advice and helps you expand your thinking. Quizzes are easy if you take them right after class, and the final is easy if you start ahead of time. He is truly such a fantastic human.
His summer 6-week online class is extremely lack luster. 6 quizzes, 6 discussion posts, and a 2500 word paper. That's it. It's hard to see this professor really "caring" when there's no extra resources or videos (for an ONLINE class), or anything at all. How are you going to call yourself a "teacher" when you only assign people to read the book?
boring class, just assigns reading and quizzes/discussions based off of it. why am i paying for this class when i could have just read the book on my own?
