ihad him for my eng 1A, i pass the class with An C, he is fun and nice guy, but he is also lazy, however he miss more class than i do. i didnt turn in 1 essay out of 4 but still passing the class.

This guy is one of the smartest i have ever met. He has helped me in so many ways not including academically. Take him if you are prepared to reap many benefits..DO NOT take him if you just want an easy A. It shall be worth it.

this guy knows about everything, but hard and lot of reading. we had to read a 900 pages novel. the research paper is required to be 12 pages long.

This class has potential of running along smoothly if & as long as u r willing to do ur work & can handle a truly tentative shedule.He grades fairly and is very entertaining; his demeanor as well as knowledge he knows SO MUCH!Take him to laugh & learn.

Our english 67 class was the abandoned class but Gary Enke came to save us. I dont know where we would be with out him. He not only saved us but he brought us a fun and exciting class. I think he's the best teacher Mt. SAC has to offer and I will definatl

He is a very great teacher with much knowledge to bestow on you but he is pretty hard. Don't take him if you looking for an easy ride becuase there is a 12 page research project which you have to do or you'll fail. Also very sensitive to student's needs.

Very tough class, but if you utilize his office hours, you will improve 100 fold. His willingness to help you understand the tough subject matter keeps the difficulty of the class manageable. Honest effort to do well and learn required. Knows when to ignore his students (not sarcastic).

Gary Enke is GREAT! I'm not too much of a writer but Gary Enke sparked my interest in English; he is very educated and interesting. The course does require a lot of reading but it is intersting reading, which you will benifit from. I recommed taking him if you want to improve academically.

Mr. Enke is by far the best teacher that I have had. The material is difficult, yet he is willing to go leaps and bounds to help you. I got an A. As a student taking this class, I learned more than I ever thought I could in one semester. I left the class feeling confident and accomplished.

I took his class in english 1A and thought he was a great teacher, but now I'm starting to see some flaws in him. He acts kind of tough in the beginning so that people who arent serious about learning will drop. Then as the semester rolls by he gets lazy and starts to talk about philosophy.

Had Enke for religion. Thought it was a wonderful class and learned a lot. If you did the reading you were caught up..he discused everything in class. He has so much knowledge to share and is a great teacher!

Gary is amazing! He knows so much. Wonderful man. He cares about his students and is willing to help. If you put in the effort you'll be fine. I highly recommend him. Class was always interesting.

he actually makes class fun, and interesting, pretty flexible, and works with so you wont fail. as long as you put in the effort then he'll always be there to help.

Critical thinking based mostly on greek philosophers. Way more interesting than writing boring cliche-filled papers on abortion rights, etc. He's INCREDIBLY willing to help you. Doesn't matter if you're the worst student in his class. He'll still spend time at his office hour to help you.

He is a very good professor for serious students. He provides challenging assignments, but gives enough guidence to do them successfully.

The work he dishes out seems heavy but you get used to it and it gets easier as you go. The work really helped me understnad the new testament. Wonderful teacher and very nice.

Very helpful, go to office hours and bring your work, he will help point out all your mistakes and dislikes about the paper, if you fix all of these you will get an A... Lectures are always interesting and more like a social hour or an interesting discussion

Great professor. He's always willing to review your work and clear up any problems before you turn it in. He goes over assignments and suggests topics for essay's. I'd consider taking another English class with him.

He may seem hard at first, but if you use his office hours, there's really very little excuse to not get at least a "B" in his class. Always willing to help, and is very articulate, which is a big help as he uses Greek philosophy to hone your critical thinking skills.

Good teacher, yeah you will write about 7 - 9 essays. But considering he doesnt check the homework... it is a good tradeoff. Basically do all the homework and extra credit and show him you are trying on your essays and you are guarenteed at least a B. He is helpful, and leniant with extensions and what not.

Makes the class fun.

Mr. Enke made this class very interesting and fun. His lectures often turn into a social hour. At first the work seems overwhelming, but its not hard, as long as you do your work you will get an A. He doesn't give a final. Mr. Enke is one of the best teachers I have ever had. I highly recommend him for english 1A or Lit 47.

Seriously he was a good teacher. You have a few essays like usual and then a bigger essay at the end of the semester that you will do on the town that you live in. Over all he was very helpful and nice and i ended up passing with a B.

Mr Enke is a really good teacher and seriously he is really easy i took him for eng 1A i mean i passed with a C when i thought i should have gotten an F he is cool, funny and he is not borring at all i recomend this teacher anytime i wish he tought english 1C or speach cause he is easy.

I've had Mr.Enke for a short period of time in the bridge but he has already earned my respects he makes everything so much easier and is extremely funny what better can it get! I have not suffered bordem in his class he is very good in breaking things up so that everyone understands... i really recommend him.

Honestly the best professor I have ever had. Amazingly knowledgeable, great sense of humor, clear and concise without leaving out anything important, and most of all he has a passion for teaching. The people who do not want him as a professor should be in high school remedial classes and not college.

Very enthusiastic about his teaching. Obviously enjoys doing what he does. Is incredibly clear with what he wants. Goes off topic, quite a bit, but nobody minded. Does not give enough assignments. Class consisted only of 2 essays, a miniscule amount of quizzes and the final. Hard to do poorly with such a great professor.

Challenging but not bias, which is refreshing for a Bible literature class. He is hilarious, which makes things worth while.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G teacher. He's interesting and keeps the class awake. Knows so many interesting facts and he's funny. The homework is very basic though sometimes it takes a bit of time. No tests, no quizzes, no midterm, no final. Just homework for every class. Loved his classes, didn't need them but I took them cause I enjoyed them so much :)

He is a amazing teacher. i love his class. Its not s super easy class, but as long as you show up and do the writing assignment you should be in the clear.

Professor Enke is really helpful. I have never been so anxious to analyze a book or write a paper. Eng 67 is a fairly easy class, even for those who do not like to write. Enke will make the writing assignments clear. I guarantee that if you show up to class and put effort into your papers, you will succeed in further English courses.

Even though deep thinking is required, Gary is great! he can be challenging, but if you like philosophy its the class for you. I recommend him if you like the challenge.

I love him! This class takes ALOT of work!! Be warned this class isn't east, but its very interesting. I am atheist and I loved it. He is very open minded not biased at all. A true learning experience.

If you show up to class, and keep up with the reading, you will do well. It consists of 5 essays and he gives you time and does not give an overload. With the essays, he splits them up, so a paragraph will be due one day, and another the next...perfect for procrastinators..gives you a chance to re-do them before it gets graded.

Took for him English 68 a while back, from what I remember he was a great guy and really caring. Class attendance was pretty important; although, he is not the easiest teacher around he makes up for that by making all his requirements and explanations clearly. So in a sense if something is hard you ask him and he makes it easy for you.

He is a great professor and sets up the essay for you to succeed. He has paragraphs due for each eassy and it gives you time to rewrite them and the transitions better. I would recommend him to anyone And he is very helpful and still cares about the students.

Professor Enke is a very passionate professor. You can tell he really loves to teach and wants everyone in his class to learn the skills necessary to succeed in the next level. He isn't an easy professor but if you pay attention to his lectures and apply this instruction to your essays, you will do well. You get back what you put in.

I have taking professor Enke for Eng. 67 to Eng. 1c honors. He is a great professor and is always willing to help. he is always in his office during his office hours and sometimes after. His class was not an easy A and it was not a hard A. However,if you put in the work you will definitely pass with an A.

He is a great professor. I took him from English 67 thru 1c. I learned and always took his advice. I used the tutor like he told me to and went from a B to an A. He always welling to listen and help you when ever you need it. I wish there were more professor like him that love their job.

I dropped English 68 during the Spring term because the professor did not satisfy me, so I had to retake this class over the Summer term and I chose Enke because of his overall score on this site! After taking his class, this class wasn't too bad, but it was better! I highly recommend Enke because I passed it with a C! Looking forward to 1A soon!

Prof. Enke is highly recommended to those that want to have a great experience in ENG 68 and beyond. His method of teaching is very simple and organized. Idiot students need NOT apply. If you want to slide by and pass the class DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS. A true educator in EVERY sense, this man is going to push you, inspire you, and educate you. You will read, write, and work for your grade, but you will be the better for it. This guy doesn't waste your time. He gives you invaluable feedback on all assignments.

Overall an alright professor. Explains what you need on the 4 essays in order to receive a passing grade. Some stories were given to us, with the exception of one we had to buy rent. Offers opportunities for help at his office hours or after class. Tries to be"funny". Got B's on EVERY single essay, so you HAVE to put in the work to receive an A.

Enke assigns the best books to read! I felt inspired by all the books that reading did not feel like reading at all. Planning to take him for English 1C! Too bad he doesn't teach 1B. He thinks the best for his students. I highly recommend him! This is the first time I ever left a comment about a prof, so he made an impact in my life as a student.

Enke is a really cool professor and I learned a lot from him. He is also a tough grader, he had given me a 0% on an essay because I did not cite the way he wanted. I asked if I could fix it and he said make sure you get the next one right. It's really hard to bounce back from a 0% grade.

I had the pride and joy of having professor Enke from English 68 to English 1C. I had the most AMAZING time in his class. His essay's do become a little tedious, which is why his office hours are so vital. Gary isn't afraid to be honest and he'll call you out when it's necessary. With a little assistance from him your essays' will write themselves.

First of all... I hate english, and even though at first i was mortified that I wasn't going to pass I eventually did. I took him during fall, we did a lot of reading...A LOT!!! so be prepare to read. All we had was four essays and a research paper as our final. If you like english it will be easy. If you don't, prepare to work hard.

Enke is such a good professor. He will help you with whatever you need. He does go off topic a bit and he can crack offensive jokes, but overall he's a good teacher. He makes weird faces to be funny but they are just scary. Also, dont chew gum in his class or he will call you a cow (and demonstrate it with another weird face).

There's homework every night in his Literature 46 and 47 classes but never any exams or essays. He is an amazing professor. Extremely interesting, super blunt, and super funny.

Enke is first class. I took his class based on feedback. He helped me hone my english/lit skills. I was a always the math/tech guy. After this class, I was able to xfer to the Claremont Colleges. I am now a successful attorney and had no problems writing once xferred. He made english/lit interesting. Be ready to work!

Enke is the Best professor . He is hilarious and very caring. He treats you like an adult and expects you to do your work. He is kind of a tough grader but he is willing to help you in and outside of class.

One of the best professors I've ever had. Dynamic, entertaining, caring, encouraging, tough but fair. Used to stand on desks and take us outside to have class under the "Enke Tree". Great tricks for getting us interested and involved. More importantly though, I learned something and I enjoyed doing it. The guy's aces!

Best English Professor I've ever had. Makes class fun and interacts with students well. Offers extra credit. Lots of reading but on interesting/ enterttaining material. Alot of essays. Allows at least 7 absences. If he sees you are at a higher level than the class you are taking he helps you get bumped up.

Best English professor at Mt Sac . He has a great sense of humor and makes English a fun subject . There are pop up quizzes on the readings that are assigned, but they are easy if you do the reading. Grades are mainly based on your essays. Show up to class (on time ) do your readings, do your essays and you will be golden !

only 5 essays given based on three books. professor lectures about the books and relates them to todays economy.

Professor Enke is literally a blessing. He is caring and charismatic. He gives amazing feedback when grading your essay. He is serious when it comes to helping his students, so make sure you respect him and take advantage of his knowledge.

Professor Enke is an inspiration. He shows that he cares for all of his students. I have taken him for two semesters now and Ill be taking him again for English 1C. If youre intimidated by the subject, I suggest you take him. He will challenge you but at the end of the day it all pays off.

By far, Toughest Prof I've had. But 10/10 would take again. He deff makes you work for your grade. But you will have a great understanding of English. He gets you ready for the long run. Participation is key. He guides you through it all. Ask questions. Take notes. Do not be late! Trust, if you want a good foundation to college. This is your guy.

Professor Enke is the best. He is very passionate about what he teaches and likes to make a lot of wise cracks to make sure you're engaged. I'm not going to lie and say it's an easy class, but he does make you interested in the lecture. I went in to learn about mythology and I leave his class with an existential crisis too early for an 8 am.

Gives extra credit. For our research paper he had us split it up and write half the paper at first and then finish the rest by the next week, so we did multiple drafts which was super helpful. You just gotta do the work. He's really lenient I feel like. 4 essays including research paper. Easy final, we could bring a paper w/ the whole outline of it

Amazing professor ! One of the luckiest students of having him twice, so caring about his students, understandable. As long you do your work its an easy A and if you have questions or need help feel free to reach out to him he absolutely makes you feel like home.

Tough as nails, this huerito prepares you for the big leagues. IF you are that lazy, flaky, immature, and unprepared student that is not ready for life, then do not take his classes. Stay home. With what this cat has taught me about writing, I have never gotten a grade less than a "B" in anything I have written since transferring out of Mt.Sac.
