The best and easiest psych class, he is a good teacher, and although he gets nervous when lecturing, the material is great fun to learn, and his exams are extremely easy.

Dr. Gargano explains the material very well. Not only is the class interesting, but it's pretty easy too! He'll help you out if you have any questions!

Psyc 1b is one of the harder classes at Merced College, especially compared to the psyc 1a course. Nonetheless, it is still very managable and Gargano is very helpful...not much reading, grade weighs heavily on papers and tests. just do well on those.

The best teacher I've had at merced college, he makes things very interesting and keeps it easy but allows you to learn a lot.

I dislike psychology but he made it really interesting...

This teacher is one of the best I've had! His study guides really helps you for the tests and plus he's the ONLY teacher that ever let me use a notecard DURING the test! I know for me that notecard helped an awful lot!

Very easy class, easy exams, very helpful and knowledgeable teacher with his PH.D in psych. Great teacher and a fun yet easy class.

He divided us into groups and this was probably the best group i've ever been in. This was about 2 years ago. I had so much fun in this class.

Easy teacher, very helpful. You will learn the info. He's nice and pretty funny. Make it to the lectures. You should have no problem getting an A in any of his courses. Excellent instructor. One complaint, i hate it when people ask him to stay on one slide for like 5-10 minutes and he does. He should just move on to the next (office hours)

Great Instructor. Knows alot about psychology, especially Freud! Learned alot in the class and am thinking about taking his other psychology classes. Dr. G has a great body and is sweet eye candy! Strongly recommend taking him.

Some of the presentations are boring, but the class was easy. Just go and you will get an A. Teacher is pretty nice.

I took his human sexuality course. I didn't have to book, and passed with a 130%. Just make sure and pay attention in class. Make conversation, and contribute to discussion.

Dr G is the best! I've had him for Psyc 1A, 1B, 5, and 23. Don't waste your money on the books, you won't need them. His classes are easy if you have a pulse and do your homework. He's very funny and approachable. Take advantage of his office hours.

He seems to have a real easy class but im still disappointed. Why do we need to spend 88.00 for a text book that is also online. Why waste the paper. Its a class that i have to spend 3 hrs in per week, then im required to work on online work at home for another few hours per week on top of all other readings required. Disappointed in text.

Dr. Gargano is an awesome and knowlegable instructor. His lectures are interesting and even entertaining. He uses slides during lecture, which makes it easy to create good notes. Homework is easy, with moderately difficult quizzes and exams. Very approachable. He adores Freud, and will probably convert you into a Freud-lover also.

TAKE HIM. He is super easy, and one of the coolest teachers on campus. He spends about 2 months doing presentations on yourself, and you can just go into zombie mode. Super nice, funny, and one of the best teachers ever. Attendance is important, but not vital. And do every homework, its easy points and he doesn't grade on work, but rather on gramma

Knows his stuff and is a Freudian. This class was the easiest I've taken at MJC, tons of extra credit, little text book reading, most of his questions from power points, etc. Very helpful if you're confused on a subject and explained things super well.

I took pretty much every class he taught when I was at merced college... He takes a genuine interest in his students and is extremely helpful... Plus homework is alway base on yourself and test are pretty simple

Dr. G is the best Psyc instructor at Merced College! Some of his courses are pretty rigorous, but he challenges his students and he is always there to help when you need it. I highly recommend taking him for any Psyc class you may need. He is super nice and is hilarious!!!

I'm so glad I took Psych 01A with Gargano this fall 2013. He is very good at explaining the information & he tells little stories that help you remember certain terms. Very fun class, & he's very helpful & approachable!

So far, so good. I'm learning so much from him this semester. My only complaint is that sometimes he goes a little too fast but with that said, he's very interesting to listen to and easy to understand. The book he's chosen this semester, which is a new book, it written in conversation style and it's so easy to read. Never thought I'd like stats.

Great teacher. Here's how you get an A in his class: take notes in his class (the exams are almost completely from the notes) and use the answer key in the back of the book to check your answers before submitting them. It is really that simple. I got a 105% in his class and it was the easiest class I have ever taken. Really enjoyed the class!

He's an alright teacher, but he's extremely sexist. If that bothers you, which it hopefully does, don't take the class. I would've taken it with another instructor if I knew he would be as misogynistic as he is.

Took the 9 week Psych 23 course with him Fall 2015 and he made me appreciate psych a lot more. Clear assignments and interesting lectures. He's funny and kind! Highly recommend him to students that are both psych majors and those who absolutely hate it. He's great.

Easy A if that is what you want. This class is almost completely graded on a 10 page paper about your life and struggles. Also on a 30 min presentation of the same material. If you are a private person then you might want to skip this one. Some class feedback during the presentations were destructive of the presenter and borders on unethical.

The concepts presented in the early portions of the course, will serve to help you learn really interesting things from your classmates later in this class. It also provides an amazing opportunity to examine oneself from new perspectives that will facilitate personal growth and self actualization.

However, if you don't attend class, you won't understand the material the next time you come because it is fast paced and cumulative. Exams are usually easy and he typically tells you what will be on them.

Class is mandatory since you have homework assignments and tests using SPSS. There are about 10 quizzes and 6 total exams, 2 of those being optional/ makeups. Homework will really prepare you for the tests. He will lecture from powerpoints on blackboard then you have time to work on hw/lab assignments. Really need to take Dr. Gargano for psyc 3000!

Amazing choice for statistics. Gives clear examples, tests are EXACTLY like the homework. Each assignment is reviewed in class for credit so you can improve your grade and understanding. I'm NOT a math person but he was excellent. Also very helpful and knowledgeable about college/universities. 10/10 would take again

He will check your assignments before you turn them in during his office hours so if you consistently do that you can get 100% on all assignments. Lectures are very clear. Basically, he says on the first day what you have to do to pass the class and as long as you do that you will breeze through the class.

Honestly his a great teacher.,He enjoys his job as well as what he teaches. His lectures are interesting and entertaining and will make time to stop and point out what will be on the test.

He explains the concepts well and goes over several examples in class. As he lectures he hints at what is important to learn for exams. A bit of a partisan hack when he goes off on his political rants, and also tends to talk very fast, but regardless a good professor.

Professor Gargano always had good lectures, and would ask us questions. I enjoyed his class so much that I am tempted to change my major. He also gives you many opportunities to bring up your grade, and he wants everyone to do well. I plan on taking him for other psych classes, and I don't even need to.

Considering the difficulty of this subject, I'm impressed by how well I did. I owe it all to Mr. Gargano. He's a great professor and makes it hard to miss what's going on if you're truly paying attention and take good notes. There's quite a bit of homework but you need to complete it and study it if you want to do well on the tests. Ask questions!

Psych 5 was really complicated but Gargano made it as easy as possible. You should attend class even if he doesn't take roll because if you miss one day,you'll miss a lot of notes which are important for the exam.

Hands down one of the best professors I have had. Before the class started I was nervous because it is a stats class.... I ended up with a 98% in the class. To pass you have to be a lectures to really understand the material, it can be easy to get behind. Do all hw assignments and he even has extra credit. Buy his class notes, it will help you out

Take advantage of all the extra credit opportunities! I did, and I barely tried on the final and still ended up with over 100% in the class. Really cares about making sure everyone understands the material. Likes to talk about his political beliefs, though. But he did make class fun every time with his stories. Homework was fairly straightforward.

Gargano is a good professor. Most of the class is lecture, and he is hilarious. He uses Revel a lot so you have to keep up on that. You can use a 3x5 note card in the tests and if you study its enough.

Easy class, with interesting material. Revel assignments are a little on the heavy side, but if you keep up on those you will definitely do well in the class. Most of his tests are right from the Revel, so the tests are pretty easy. Great teacher!

Professor Gargano is great. If you are willing to put in some effort he makes statistics very easy to understand. There is homework, but he goes over it thoroughly.

Don't be intimidated. He is super helpful and always willing to help and answer any questions that you may have. Come to his office hours to check with hw that way you'll get full points when you turn it in. His online class was straight-forward and organized. You can also get up to 40 bonus pts so do them! Overall, he is nice and caring.

I retook this class 3 times. Not because it was hard but because I did not watch any lectures and failed. This last time, I actually watched them, took notes and went to homework help and I got a B. As long as you watch the lectures, go to class for that hour, you will pass. He checks your work before submitting. Overall, he's amazing!!

I took it in person and it makes a world of a difference than online. In person, he can help you get to the answer in the class before you go home. Dr. Garbanzo is the best math teacher I've ever had. I would highly recommend this class to any student trying to fulfill their college math requirement. GO TO CLASS, and don't take the class online. If you attend, you will find an environment that is helpful and actually conducive to learning.

No mandatory meets, lecture videos posted. lots of office hours. clear & helpful feedback, always available for questions. no late work, but lots of time to do HW. I couldn't focus on online classes, but i will take his in-person class asap! highly suggest!

A must to take this course in person. He is very clear with the lessons and lectures. He checks your work before leaving class and before you turn it in if you decide to stick around. I recommend that you stick around. I am following Dr. Gargano to Stan State and taking my upper division Psyc statistics with him. That is how good he is!!!

My favorite professor so far, his teaching skills/abilities are unique in the best way! The lectures each week were informative and entertaining. The best part is he genuinely cares about his students and doesn't cause unbearable stress through exams. Monday zoom meetings weren't mandatory, but it's worth it to attend. Gargano was probably one of the best professors I have ever had in my college experience. As long as you watch the lectures and keep up with the homework, it's an easy class and he makes it enjoyable. He is there for his students too, never be afraid to ask for help, he is more than willing to help you succeed.

Took him for Psychology Statistics. He went above and beyond to make sure we understood the content and he breaks down the math in steps. He also teaches Psych3000 at CSU Stanislaus, taking him for that class is also a must. The only thing I don't like is when he makes small comments about politics, other than that, he's great.

Gargano is super nice and cool, always willing to answer questions in person or through email. Homework assignments are a breeze, there is an online textbook through Pearson. Weekly online chapter tests, questions are easy to answer and during lectures he tells you the answers to them if you're paying attention. There is no final for this class.

He's a pretty chill professor but he definitely rambles A LOT in class and gets off topic quite a bit. talks about his ex's a lot even though he's married. lectures consist of him reading off of slides he posted onto canvas so its not necessary to pay attention in class.

I never thought I would ever have such an easy time with math until I took this class. I was nervous at first since I was always someone who's never been good at math. But this class but my fears to rest and I learned so much. The guy's hilarious too and has some pretty interesting and funny stories or side comments he makes. 10/10!
