I am a calculus 2 student in prof. garland's class, we started with a fair amount of people and only 6 are left. calculus is a difficult subject and requires lots of studying. this guy is always willing to answer questions, gives partial credit on tests and quizzes, and explains exactly why you got the problem wrong and how to do it correctly

Overall a Decent Prof. really only needed to pass the class for transfer, and I did with a 75. But did all the recommended homework and studied religiously (Summer Class). Would take him again though. but Definitely ask questions! Calculus2 is not easy especially in the short summer semester.

Very knowlegable. Nice. Has a dry sense of humor. Shouldn't give him a bad rap because Calculus IS hard. Don't take a 5 credit class along with full load. Math classes ALWAYS require homework (hello?) that' how you learn math - PRACTICE - PRACTICE. Mr. Garland does expect you to know Algebra, which it is a prereq!! Tests matched the homework.

I have had several math professors in my college career and I think that Professor Garland is by far, the best! He is more than willing to help the students who are willing to help themselves. I have found that the only people who complain about him are those that are either chronic complainers or whom expect to pass without any effort put forth.

He is crystal clear in what he expects. Reviews just like Test. You must read the lessons in the book not just the online hw to understand. Took him online. Had to go to SE campus for tests...Easy Class overal.

Took his class as an online class and he was excellent. The class is hard but do not be afraid to ask him questions. He answers them all and gives very detailed answers. He actually made videos to show how to work problem. Highly Recommend!

I really liked Mr. Garland even though I pretty much loath math. He is very very helpful and willing to break things down. His class was not easy, but I also stink at math. He uses mathlabs which I don't like. If you don't like online homework don't take him. Overall I found him very helpful.

He explains really well and he is always there to help us if there is anythng questions or doubt. I probably will take him again next semester.

He's actually nice and kind of funny, but hard to get used to, he seems a little boring and monotone at first. His class is extremely easy if you're at least decent at math, and a lot of the notes are available online. Homework is heavily focused on, the the online textbook is used greatly, though not in his lecturing.

I took this class online. He uses an online lab for all assignments. The lab is AMAZING!! It walks you thru the steps piece by piece; has video tutorials; practice tests. All his exams are on campus. If you can't make it to school, I would suggest taking this class for the online lab!!! Loved it.

Mr Garland is very helpful I am Taking 0302,0304,and 0350 all in 1 semester. I have learned more in the first 5 weeks than I did in 4 years of High School!! If you participate and care about your grade he is more than willing to help you out! Highly Recommend taking his class.

Rating a math teacher as "easy" ... dont see it happening. Garland is awesome though, he made it as unpainful as possible. As long you do the homework(incase you miss class)you wont get dropped. For tests he would put up the review along with "video solutions" with him talking you through it. I have never heard of it, but really awesome. TAKE HIM!

Assigns online homework and has mandatory notes in correlation to the book. Although they should help, having them mandatory for a grade is, IMO, absurd. Very helpful and explanatory when asked for help on problems though.

I took Mr. Garland for 0302,0304,and 0350 all in 1 semester. The class was difficult,simply because your cramming 3 semesters of work into your head, but really Garland did everything in his power to help! If you put your own time into it, you will succeed. And he is the perfect teacher for this. His online review videos are awesome, great teacher!

i took the class online and it was easy. i got a 100 on all my homework without knowing what i was doing. i also made A's on all his tests because the type of questions are in the same order on his reviews as they are on the test. he also does video examples for everything, making learning new concepts easy and understandable.

May Mester: Moved fast but he put homework at 30% of grade. He works stuff out step by step, so I can imagine a 'full' semester being more thorough. You do homework via My Mathlab and his reviews are SUPER HELPFUL.

Took MATH 0350 with Mr. G during the Maymester. We did all of our work in MyMathLab and had to go to TCC for testing. The homework was due on a weekly basis... had to watch the lessons in Math lab and then do short assignments. The tests were fairly easy because Garland's reviews are great (come with video solutions). Great teacher!

I took this as a summer course online. The only bad part was the fact that it was 16 weeks packed into 6 weeks. He did a great job and was really helpful. He answered emails promptly and explained things when you asked. I wish he was teaching college algebra!

He drops the two lowest homework grades. He provides practice tests before every test with personalized video solutions. His voice is calming...easy to listen to. He doesn't respond to e-mail questions over the weekend. If you have a Dr note for a missed Homework assignment -scan it, e-mail it and he will re-open the assignment. No re-dos on tests.

Wow... I wish he taught math 1314... Offers video reviews for test, and the reviews are in the SAME format as the test so u know what to expect... Drops two hmwk grades, responds pretty quickly. Tests are NOT multiple choice u have to do the work and show you work so even if your answer is wrong you can still get partial credit. Final is multiple

This Statistics class wasn't that bad if you studied your notes and did Connect HW. He gives four tests and online HW, as well as classwork participation. He lectures and then we work on class problems from the book. I got a 99, 78, 85, & 96 on the five tests, and then a 92 on the FINAL. With a final grade of a 94. GOOD TEACHER!! RECOMMEND!!

I just finished his class and this was the best math class I've taken. He has step by step chapter videos with power points to help you with each Chapter. I left feeling prepared for the next math class.

I took his class as a blended class & I definitely become familiar with the math lab. I'm really good in math but still don't recommend taking a blended math class. He was there when I asked for help, but sometimes when you ask for help he can be a little awkward, so get use to the math lab! But overall he is a good teacher just take lots of notes

Tough but great teacher.

You'll have a lot more trouble with the material than you will with the teacher. There's only so much you can do as a teacher to help someone with Calculus, and he tries his best. Really the only problem I have with him is that he likes to give home when the chapter is done, due next class. It isn't fun to get homework on Monday due on Wednesday.

I took him for my second time through Calculus 2. He goes over problem after problem and will answer any questions you may have. The homework was on webassign and had unlimited tries on each problem. The tests were directly from the reviews. I would definitely take him again if I had the chance to. One of the best math profs I have ever had.

Mr. Garland is a good professor. He takes the time to teach & work problems and answer questions. He is genuine, no drama, clear and fair. Class is fast paced, but do able. He explains things, calm, polite, and cares. He gives resources, and formulas on quizzes. Power point is helpful/print it, and take to class to work problems. Makes it easier!

The explanations on how to do the work in this class were very easy to understand and they were also extremely helpful. We were provided with step by step explanations for everything we were learning. We got to learn at our own pace which was convenient. The professor and tutors were always available to help students in need.

This course was a challenge for me in the beginning. The professor helped me with any and all questions I had and changed my point of view on Statistics. He is helpful and responds to any email quickly so I can continue to work.

I took this class the during summer 1. Definitely a challenge if youre working full time. Theres lot of videos and examples to get the work done on Mymathlab. I wouldve got a C if it wasnt for his drop lowest test/2 HWs. I got a B. 5 tests including final. Lots of HW so dont fall behind. Pretty good professor overall

This math class was soooo easy, and I'm not a math person. lessons are so easy its insane, got 100s on every regular assignment. DO study for the tests tho, because you will need to. NO open book, notes, or anything on test, so actually learn stuff. Great teacher, would take again Never used textbook

I took his 8-week course and it had a couple homework assignments each week and four test throughout the semester. There was a review for each test, but there was no extra credit for the class. The professor doesn't really do much since it's all online, but it's good if you need to get the credit.

Mr. Garland is easily one of my favorite professors, and certainly the best math instructor I've worked with. He teaches difficult material, but is incredibly thorough. If you do the weekly homework and check the review before each test, you can't go wrong. He cares about the students, and is always willing to meet and work with you. 11/10

Really enjoy this class! Mathematics can be difficult to make fun or entertaining, but the atmosphere is always light and the professor is understanding and rather accommodating of student needs.

I was very confused for most of this class, which was mostly my fault, but Professor Williams was very helpful and whenever we had a meeting. I took this class online which was a big mistake, but it was an 8-week class, so I actually passed. I don't know if in-person classes are different, but I had to use Pearson and MyStatLab which were awful.

Took this for an online 8 week class and received an A! The pro tip for this class is to STUDY YOUR TEST REVIEW! Make sure you understand each question on the test review and you'll do great on your test! Used Pearson for every assignment and you can retake every assignment question until you get a 100.

Professor Garland's class was fine. He's a really nice guy and cares about his students but he has the most boring voice ever so at times it can be hard to focus. He also grades very strictly so make sure you are really careful on the tests. Overall, I'd recommend him, but you have to be able to stay focused in class.

This class is very difficult, no doubt about it, but he is very open to questions and doesn't seem frustrated or annoyed at all if he has to repeat things for clarity. There are a lot of assignments, but I don't mind them as practice is key.Very time consuming course but he is very helpful and is very accessible outside of class for additional help

I took a two-day-a-week class by Professor Garland and there is a lot of homework. His lectures are good but if you try to review the information on your own it's really difficult to understand. He has videos up of the lectures and we used a free online textbook but neither really helped me as much as asking ChatGPT to explain a problem to me.

Algebra is a difficult class no matter what, but I believe his teaching methods are efficient. He projects his tablet onto the screen and breaks down each problem into steps. I will say he does have a monotone voice which makes things slightly difficult to pay attention, but not impossible. You will need to study for exams, it's not multi. choice.
