Gary's a ten...a superb contemporary with an excellent head on his shoulders. Admittedly, I'd say he has his fair share of prized pupils, but he's willing to help out anyone in need. V-necks work just as well as tight sweaters.

I gave him a good mark, but that doesn't mean I like him. He plays favourites and only likes die-hard journalists in the making. If you're not 100% gung ho - watch out.

Gary MUST live forever. For the good of the country. Here's why. When Gary dies in his old age, coffee stocks will plummet so low, Canada will be left in an unrecoverable depression. But on the bright side, the Tim Horton's on campus now offers small, medium, large, extra-large, and special devlivery-only Gary-Sized cups. The guy's got pep.

Gary makes everything clear. The best part is that he teaches things that you are going to use in real life. Things that as Gary says, will make you money. That's what we all want from our university education, to make us some money.

Gary cares about what he is teaching and that is evident. He has high standards because he wants you to do well in the real world. He gives full value for your dollar so do not expect to get out of his classes early. THis is ok with me though because at 5 grand for the year I want to learn as much as I can. Bring on the buffet!

Gary worked with our news class. This was a VERY STRESSFUL class - show days were crazy. He was incredibly helpful and saved our butts more than once. Thanks Gary.

Gary is the best! He teaches you about real skills you need as a journalist and gives priceless life advice. Plus, he's very open to students' questions and is always willing to help. On the last day of class, he threw us an "ice cream extravaganza".

Gary understands student mental health like no other. So hilarious and if he senses you're having a bad day, he's gonna make sure to lift you until you laugh so much your stomach hurts. Gives loads and loads of extensions and shares funny stories of himself while growing up. GREAT human being. He has his own fan page btw.

I have at least five ongoing inside jokes with Gary. That is how personable and approachable this fantastic man is. Also he gives NQA extensions and stops you in the hall to ask you how your day is going. The fact that he has a fan account is the best part though.

A real gem. Just hope you get a good T.A., because they will mark assignments. Even with that, you can talk to him and he will more times than not boost your mark.

Gary is a kindhearted, fun and genuine person who his hands down the best professor I have ever had. He builds relationships with all his students and stops you in the hall to ask how your day is. The greatest there ever was. Dr. Gould is a best friend who also just so happens to be a professor. I had him for an online class, and this guy built an entire set for Zoom in his home just to make the class more engaging and more fun. And it worked! Dr. Gould is guaranteed to be one of the best teachers you will ever have.

Doc is an example of the kind of profs that go above and beyond for their students. This year my production class went completely online, meaning 6 hour zoom classes every week. As atrocious as that sounds, Dr. Gary made it fun, and I actually looked forward to it. He made sure that our time and tuition didn't go to waste, and I learned so much.

I had a great time in Gary's multi-cam class and lab! He was very understanding of the online situation and emphasized that we were allowed to make mistakes because we're still learning. He didn't make anyone feel dumb for asking questions or messing up during the production, and even sent us encouraging chats! I'd love to have him again.

Gary is the most caring and amazing prof I've ever seen. He loves sharing hands-on experience related to the industry and gives great feedback to our production. His words are confidence-boosting, so that we can try out and make mistake without worrying about the tests or grades. Online learning is challenging, but he's dealt with it quite well!

Dr. Gould champions for the students. This class entails guest speakers every week, & Gary conducts his interviews with questions that students might not think to ask. Gary relates to us because he spent a lot of his life in school. He knows how to bring ppl together and even stayed after class to talk for hours. We also did karaoke and bingo.

He’s a super nice guy but he goes off on tangents a lot. I took the class online so I’m sure it would be much better in person. The class is 5 hours long tho and it just drags on a bit. I feel that it could be condensed to a 2-3 hour class. He is also great at being understanding with deadlines

Gary is one of the best profs - very caring and understanding. This class features guest speakers working in various sectors in the media industry, who give lectures each week. Weekly quizzes are easy and based on common knowledge from the speakers. Gary is always fair, accommodating, and approachable and makes the every class enjoyable overall!

This course has tons of value packed into weekly guest speaker lectures, while not all the lectures will appeal to you, they're super interesting. Gary cares about our grades and really wants us to all do well - just go to class, listen, and do the quizzes and it'll be one of the easiest and most valuable classes you'll ever take.

I will keep this short. Non ironically, this man makes me believe in good. If you ever see this, I love ya doc. Thanks for being a friend (and also arranging a baller class spaghetti dinner).

Gary Gould (AKA "Doc") is one of the best professors I've ever had. Caring, compassionate, and understanding, you can tell he loves what he does, and that he actually gives a damn about his students' success. He does not assign late penalties and is very relaxed with deadlines. He's just a genuinely good, decent person. Highly, HIGHLY recommend.

Gary is awesome and especially helpful and hands-on. If you approach him outside of class he will likely leave and physically help you set up equipment/adjust lighting etc. He's also funny and makes learning more interesting. Take Gary, you won't be disappointed.

Gary is a very funny prof and hands on. He has experience in the journalism world when it comes to behind the scenes working with technology and cameras etc and he is just an awesome prof!

Gary is a fantastic man, and although I took him in my final year for JRN 215, if I could, I would take his class every semester! Unfortunately, I received a B- in the course due to late submissions on my path, but he was still very encouraging and supportive! He indeed prioritizes his student's passing the course.

Dr. Gary Gould is one of a kind. He's there to ensure that you learn the material, and will always give feedback and suggestions on what you need...simply ask him. Gary will always brighten up your day, make you smile, and give you props and/or a high five when you say hi to him. I'm very thankful that RTA has been gifted to such an amazing person.

Gotta love Gary! He's super fun and engaging in class, and makes a ton of jokes. He tries to build relationships with students and is very kind. His photojournalism lectures aren't mandatory, but the exercises can be fun (though extremely basic). He is super accommodating with due dates and absences and truly cares about his students.

WE LOVE GARE BEAR! Made me genuinely laugh every class, and was a joy to be around, what a guy! You will never be bored in this class. What a SNACK!

Doc was such a thrill to be around. He's super hilarious, and always tries his best to relate with the class. As an intro course, it felt super accommodating and relaxing heading into a course that only lasted 6 weeks. He always helps you to do your absolute best, but always remember, make sure your content is Paddington 2 approved! Gare is fair!

Doc is fun! His class can be exhausting cause he spends 2 out of the 5 hours talking about the lecture. He is pretty chill during the class but sometimes it can be unclear what he wants from the assignment. Sometimes it can feel like Gare is NOT fair. But he always helps you to do your absolute best though. Make sure you like Paddington 2!

Gary Gould is my favourite professor in RTA! such a lovely and caring man. do not take advantage of how kind he is because it is very easy to do so. all you gotta do is just follow instructions and you will pass with flying colours. even though this class is actually a nightmare every single week, Dr. Gould makes up for it!

One of my favourite Professors of all time. I would highly recommend taking his class. Not only is he a great and funny guy but he's also got a lot of industry experience. He focused more on helping us gain experience and knowledge for our future in the industry than the class itself which I greatly respected. He grades pretty well too.

He took all of the readings and turned them into podcasts. He actively tried to turn the course with a history of being dreadful, made it better, and helped make the stuff we learned in lectures... in labs like single-cam and multi-cam

Gary is the GOAT. He goes so above and beyond for all of his students and puts so much care and effort into the grading assignments and providing summarized course material. Gary is not afraid to keep it real, and can turn a terrible course into an amazing one. 100% recommend taking his courses if you have the chance!

Nice guy. Quizzes had so much information, it's hard to study a lot for. But he made them somewhat easy enough. Gives good information and helps as much as he can.
