I am terrible at math but Prof. Gruber made it so easy!! He's a great teacher and his exams are super easy. Pay attention and do the HWs even tho he doesnt check it but doing his the HWs was great practice. I'll definitely take him again. He is THE BEST!!!!!! He's funny too.

This is the BEST math teacher I've ever had!!!!! He's so helpful, and makes the subject seem sooo easy. I wasn't good at math before this class, but after I took his class I felt like a genious =) Take him, he's the best there is out there.

this professor is the greatest. his materials are good and the way he teachs math helps me understand more the material. he breaks down every step and helps all of his students out.

Supposedly he is one of the best math professors, but I still had difficulty in this class. He is funny, but needs to lay off the caffeine.

I have to say that he is a great professor but you def have to put the time into studing and hw to be able to grasp it. It can be intense but I think most of all stressful considering that they put that dept final on your shoulders. You will def pass with this proff.

Best prof on campus.......Gruber is so funny (Jim Carey esc.) he makes math look like child's play. If your looking for a way to learn this stuff TAKE GRUBER!!! I failed 104 2 times before i took his class. he explained every concept step by step. he would review problems until i got it. if u arent paying attention or are talking he will call you out! he has alota jokes & is very upbeat. i learned many tricks to solve algebra problems. if you havent took math in yrs i strongly suggest you take him.

He is a great guy and cool professor. He makes class short and gets straight to the point. Explains exactly what is going to be on exams so if you pay attention you more than likely pass with a good grade. I highly recommend him for statistics.

I hated math... And then I met Professor Gruber! He is THE BEST MATH TEACHER EVER!!! He explains everything very clearly and he takes his time ALL THE TIME. He really help his students out. AND HE'S FUNNY! He deserves teacher of the year because he is just that darn good!

My favorite teacher in my freshman year, professor Gruber is a very good instructor. He never skips steps or denies a question. He never misses a class and all his tests r VERY fair. His lectures r so good that even if you dnt study, you can do quite well on the tests if u pay attention in class. I also love his sense of humor!

Once you get passed the fact that he looks like an older Fonzi (yes happy days) - and his bark is worse than his bite, he's really quite helpful. I was able to get my Beginning and intermediate Algebra book from a Lehmanbookexchange [dot] blogspot [dot] com so that made all a bit easier as well.

Best professor i've ever had. All of his explanations are great. He makes up some-what dumb ways to memorize things but they work really well. Just sit in the front of the room and pay attention and u should get an easy A

Extremely clear steps and shows you tons of tricks. He always jokes around which makes the class fun! Just show up, listen and do your homework and you will pass !

Really good professor. Makes math easier with his tricks, but tutoring might be needed since he goes really fast. Depends on your learning style..3 test and a final, but drops the lowest mark on a test if you are absent fewer then 3 times. Homework is not collected but you have to do it in order to fully understand. Very funny professor.

He is really a good teacher. He's understanding and charming and funny. If you have any issues at all, do not hesitate to speak to him. He will help you all you need and wants you to pass. The man is a pleasure to have as a teacher and will be one to remember.

one of my favorite math profs. he teaches you a lot of tricks to help you remember formulas. he gets kind of repetitive with them but you will be grateful and they will stick. He assigns homework after every class but he does not collect it. He does go over them in class though & it's for your own benefit to get it done. Overall, great professor.

The best professor I've taken thus far at Lehman! He's knowledgeable about his subject and knows exactly what he is doing. I wish I can take him for every other math class that I need to take. He's also probably the only professors who will give you 15 minutes after class starts before marking you late. Definitely recommended! Love you Prof Guber!

I wish take another class with this professor again. when you as a math hater go to his class, you are gonna love math and you are gonna learn this difficult course for sure, your math skills will increase by at least 10%. However this professor is a genius in his stuff, don't ask question to him you cannot argue with him because he barks at you.

Professor Gruber is a great professor despite the negative comments .. He tells you exactly what's going to be on the test and has reviews for every test .. He reviews the hw every class .. Only annoying thing is that he speaks to you as if you're in HS because he's use to teaching HS students, besides that, great professor !

Great professor, really breaks down problems and gives a lot of tricks to memorize things. Occasionally has little outburst that might make you jump, and is a bit funny in his own corny way. You will do good if you stay on top of homework and attendance.

Professor Gruber can be a little rude but he is a GREAT professor. If you focus you can easily get an A.. He goes over the HW which is very helpful and so are the tricks he shows you.. Professor Gruber is great at what he does. If you pay attention to what he says and do the work he assigns then you will do well. He seems to care a lot about his students and can sometimes be funny. I never met someone who can explain math as well as he does.

He's fun with the class lectures. Don't let him catch you talking, even if you're just helping someone understand the work; you might not like his reaction. He does great exam reviews, but a trick question or two might pop up on the exam while his review only went over simpler versions of them. But he's still pretty good. Beware of his handwriting

Gary Lou Gruber is a good teacher. If you concentrate on your assignments and homework, you'll do well. He's "old school" and doesn't tolerate classroom antics or distracted behavior.

He mentioned this was his first year teaching this specific course. Regardless, he did an amazing job with it. He makes lectures entertaining overall with his humor. Your grade relies pretty much on the two tests he gives plus the final. Doing the online homework is also taken into account. His tests are exactly like the study guides he gives!

One of the funniest professors I ever met and he is very articulate when explaining math. He shows you a lot of tricks when solving problems which is great and wants to make sure you understand the topic and encourages questions. We finish 10-20 minutes early and makes fun fun to learn.

Gary Lou Gruber is a fine Professor. He clearly explains all material and is available for consultation after hours, if need be. You should take good notes, attend classes regularly , and be mindful of class instruction because his exams are based upon what he covered in the classroom. You have to earn your grade with Prof Gruber .

I never enjoyed math especially pre calculus. I would never imagine that I would enjoy math, but Prof. Gruber made it easy and fun. He was old school, sweet and a breath of fresh air to all other math teachers. He asks are there any questions and meant it. He takes math seriously. He teaches as an experienced instructor. I would take him for Cal.

His class is not that hard. There is no syllabus which makes no sense but is manageable. Hopefully, someone can tell him that high school for us was ages ago and we forgot what we learned. Overall, Gary wasn't a problem, the students in the class were, acting like it was high school like bruh grow up, how are you in college?

Dude, he explains the material so easily, Don't be getting butthurt if he says "You should know this" because you probably didn't pay attention in High School, funny character who is a great guide with the material, definitely enroll if he's teaching the course. Hilarious as well

The downside to him is that he doesn't teach other courses cause I'd love to take actual Calc with him, he explains everything in the best way, tests are pretty straightforward and are altered from the review days, put a two-hour effort of studying a week and you should get a minimal B, he's older in age so take him while he still isn't retired

I had him and my grades were not that good because of the test but he was a funny professor who loved to joke and he is lecture heavey too. I would love to take him for other classes but he does not do other classes.

The professor is very knowledgeable. He prepares you very well for his exams, which are not as difficult. However the final was challenging but he does review for every exam and the majority (95%) of the material is on the exam. He traditional professor, and as long as you copy what he writes on the board and review it. It is easy to pass his exam.

Old school type of prof, starts working on problems the moment he walks in, doesn't set up a blackboard for the class, checks email once a week, no extra credit EVER typa guy, very blunt and direct responses. If this sounds tough, take it with someone else, if you want to learn, take it with him. Hes the only math professor i've ever understood!

Great professor for sure, very demanding, but everything he covers is crystal clear and elucidated on the review sessions, which mirror the exams. However I did not like his grading scheme, the grade was completely composed of three exams, 30% for both midterms and 40% for the final, with no extra credit ever or curves. There was no room for error

Professor Gruber is a teacher I will forever remember! I took both MAT171 and MAT175 with this man and understood everything, aced both classes! He is a fantastic lecturer and an even greater person. Mathematics was never crystal clear to me until I became his student. He rocks!

Dr. Gruber is a Lehman GEM, shame hes at the end of his career as he has mentioned retirement a couple of times. If you can take him, DO IT! I not only use what he has taught me but also his advice.
