this guy is good! the class is easy and you can get tons of extra credit if you show up for class. tests are tricky,but get easier as the semester goes. you learn a lot and just have a lot of fun!

Cool teacher and class. Test are not hard, and a lot of extra credit is given. Lectures may get boring, but he will keep you awake with his sudden outbursts.

Very interesting material, funny teacher, so much extra credit it does not matter if you dont do well on tests. tests can be tricky on the book section but just study. take this class interesting, with some very funny facts!

So easy it's not funny, but Gary is a GREAT guy. Changes syllabus to be helpful (was 1st time teaching this class). Attendance not required. A few journal entries & projects - not hard. I recommend this class for Capstone.

So much to learn on a topic we all think we know so well. Gary makes lectures interesting, and gives plenty of xtra credit opportunities.

Gary is such a nice genuine guy. Alot of people go in thinking its cake, but the tests are tricky. Like everyone else said you get inclass activities so grades are usually really good. TAKE HIM...he's really fun, interesting.

Tests suck but not impossible. Study for the tests and you'll do fine. Lots of extra credit options.

Gary is an awesome professor! He's a morning person & I think Human Sexuality @ 8 a.m. should be mandatory. This class was packed every time & learning about sex was fun & interesting. Tests are 20 questions from class, 20 questions from textbook. if u dont read book, u will do horrible! TAKE THIS CLASS!!

Gary is a very easy going professor who respects all of his students. His class is interesting, the subject matter isn't hard, but it also isn't too easy...he wants you to work a little bit for your grade! I recommend this class or any class with Gary to anyone and everyone. It'll change your life.

this is an interesting class... keep an open mind for sure... read the text as the tests are half book and half lecture.. show up to class... tests are hard but quite a few extra credit opportunities... interesting guest speakers.. Gary is a funny professor, and this class wakes you up at 8am!

He's a funny guy. Explains things well. Lectures can get boring but overall it's not too bad. Decent grading scale, tests are fairly easy. I would take him again.

Tests really aren't that bad, just study a little! He gives pleanty of in class extra credit. Really fun class. Only showed 2 videos where there was explicit content, and attendence was optional

Gary is probably one of my favrite professors on this campus. He is a great guy and he knows what he's talking about. He is very passionate about teaching and really tries to get to know his students. His class was very interesting, very useful, and I loved coming to it. It tought me a lot. Take this class..you'll be glad that you did.

Gary is a great prof! very laid back, and funny. He will do anything to help his students learn. His exams are difficult, but are the only thing graded. He offers extra credit often, and has a large extra credit project that is easy and is worth the same as a perfect score on an exam. Take Gute!!!

GREAT TEACHER! Fun, laid back, asks students opinion, & really cares. Whole class got an A. He is very smart & passionate. No tests, no quizes, no papers. We had 1 5 min informal presentation over something we enjoyed doing- easy. I did learn a lot from him & what creativity really means! Stand up guy. Relates well 2 us. Great prof, great class!

Class is pretty easy but you do have to read the text. Plenty of extra credit if you want to do it. Easy to get an A or B

He is a very nice and funny guy. Our grade was just from the 3 tests- 40 points each. 20 points were from class and 20 from the book. If you come to class that part of the test is easy. Just study your notes. The book part is really hard and there is a LOT to read. But if you do ALL of the extra credit its poss to get an A with ok test scores

He's a great prof. All you really have to do is the basics--go to class, READ, take plenty of notes, and speak up!! He LOVES when people actually are paying attention and speaking their opinions. He's a very nice, laid back teacher! Definitely recommend taking Human Relationships and Sexuality--plenty of interesting info!

I enjoyed this class. I learned a ton from taking it, Gute is a good professor..he cares about his students and offers LOTS of extra credit. The tests were okay (half was over the textbook and half from in class discussion/notes) but overall you can pass with an easy A or B! :)

Yeah, he's a good professor, but I think he's sort of a tool. He thinks he's funny and a know-it-all and it bothers me. The movies are the best part of the class- they're really interesting. ALso the speakers were fun. He gave out an ABSURD amount of extra credit to our class. Keep up with E.C. on elearning and the anonymous board- funny stuff.

The class is easy and interesting...he keeps it light-hearted and funny. Sometimes though, he had this god-complex about him that can get kind of annoying. Other than that, it's a fun class and he's a good teacher.

I've taken Gute many times because hes an awesome prof. His tests are pretty hard - basically all book. But he gives TONS of extra credit. He is extremely helpful too & will never make you feel awkward or annoying. His classes are worth trying at least ;-)

This class is interesting, but half the time it seems pointless to go. The tests don't follow the information he teaches in class, so it's hard to do well. He gives a lot of EASY extra credit though which makes it impossible to do bad in this class.

This class is basically all online, you just go to class to take the tests. All the questions come from the Pre and post test from the online material and there is at least 50 pts of extra credit! Would recommend his class!

Awesome professor, I took human relationship and sexuality and got an easy A. Textbook is necessary, but he gives so much extra credit. Super easy class.

This is my favorite class and professor. He is very funny and makes class fun. He always records his class and puts it on elearning, so if you miss a day you can catch up. He offers a LOT of extra credit. I couldn't wait to go to his class everyday. I am taking more of his classes next semester!

This class is so easy. It is mostly online except for one time and he gives you 60 points of credit for that one time. The rest is just tests that are all online and the book is online too. The book and online stuff is expensive, but the class is simple and worth it.

Human Growth and Development: So so easy I never completed any of the readings. I did very extra credit assignment (1x every 2 weeks) and looked over the study guides before the exams. I believe I missed 10 points the entire semester.

I took Gary for Human Sexuality and Relationships and I think it's a nice guy but he wasn't very helpful when Connect was messing up how my grade appeared in the eLearning. The class was very laid-back and the panels were awesome. Lots of Extra Credit!

I took the Creativity Capstone with Gary. Overall I liked the way he structured the course with the reading and discussion posts. The posts are long but not difficult. No tests or quizzes. Gary gives an interesting topic and lots of room for autonomy. Would recommend taking this capstone with him.

Took creativity capstone with professor Gute. Posts were 6-7 paragraphs once a week, but the grading on them was very easy. As long as you posted something with decent length you got 100%. Very easy class that I would recommend as a capstone.

Gute is an easy professor. You do all of your work on an online textbook and only have to show up to class on test days. The online textbook can be a lot of work if you push it off until the last minute but otherwise not to bad. The tests can be hard if you don't have an understanding of the material but otherwise fine. Should be an easy A

Honestly rating the class more than the professor. Was not required to attend class except one. There are 8 classes with speakers which are all completely extra credit and honestly most of them are interesting and have good sexual health content. Highly recommend this class as everything was super easy whether assignments or tests.

The majority of Gary's classes are online so you only have to attend class a few times a semester. His grading is really easy and there's usually a lot of opportunities for extra credit.

He only had our class meet six times the whole semester, all the rest of the class work was online. Super easy but interesting class. Easy grader, easy assignments, and easy open note exams.

The class is pretty easy, and the information is interesting. Gary makes the class really easy and the content through Connect is easy enough for a third grader. I definitely recommend this course!

I took this class online it was honestly the easiest class I have taken in college. It was not hard to keep up with and I enjoyed the content. He was super helpful if something went wrong.

I took human growth and development online and it was the easiest class Ive ever taken in my life. There is like 5 super short assignments and then the exams. Google the exam questions and youll find quizlets with all the answers. Ive never met him in person but he seems quite chill.

Very good professor and an easy A class. Homework and tests are all open book, open notes.

Took a night class with this professor and he was very kinde. We barely had to meet in person and the assingments were very easy and light work. Definitely will take a class of his again.

Professor Gute is amazing! I took HG&D with him online, and I loved it. Only things you had to do was a little homework and 3 exams. Homework lets you do it until you get 100%. Exams were open book/open note. He is a very understanding guy and willing to work with you. Definitely recommend him as a professor!!

Very easy online class. You get multiple attempts for each assignment, and the tests are word-for-word from the online textbook. Simple and easy, but I still got something out of the course.

The class is so easy. You have a few assignments to do online and then three exams through the course of the semester which are your biggest grades. Assignments are insanely easy as you can check your work as you go and exams were open book. The lectures were always guest visitors. I highly recommend the course makes it fun to learn with visitors

Class was easy. Online homework you can check before submitting for a perfect grade, and tests were the heaviest grades but only 3 in a semester. Any time class met (which was only a few times in a semester) there were guest visitors. Super fun class and super easy it made learning more fun.

This class was super easy since all of the class material was online and everything could be looked up. The class only met 5 times with the first class being worth 25 points and all the others worth 5. I recommend this class if you want to get an easy A since all it takes is showing up and putting in minimal work. The guest panels are interesting.

I took two hybrid classes w him, online until spring break and after spring break we met in person. The online quizzes and hw was super easy to follow and get good grades on. He gives lots of extra credit opportunities. The attendance after spring break was worth points, but we ended up having very insightful interviews and touring places.

Such a great professor. You only meet a couple time throughout the whole class.

Gary is one of the most compassionate professors I have ever had. He genuinely wants the best for each of his students and tries his hardest to connect students to resourceful people that can help build you up. This professor has also provided me with accomodations I never would have anticipated and it has allowed my semester to be much smoother!

I would really only take this course again because all of the material is online and we only met like 4 times in the semester (once in August, twice in November, and once in December). It is the easiest class I have ever taken and points are thrown out freely. If you want a free credit with little work, take this class.

Gary is awesome! Took this class for my major and found the material to be easy. We only meet in person 6 times throughout the semester for guest speakers. That is the only time he takes attendance and you can miss 2 of those days without penalty. The material is all online and fairly easy to understand if you have any questions, hes there to help

His class was primarily online, with occasional in-person meetings. This class was so easy and all the exams were easy too. He's super caring and you can tell he cares about all of his students and their well-being. I would definitely recommend him and any of his classes!

Gary Gute is a great professor. The class isn't hard at all and it's a reasonable amount of work for a 1000 level course. I felt as if I learned a lot and I didn't have to work very hard. All the course work came from the online textbook which was really easy to use. He seems like a really cool and understanding guy.

This is the second class I've taken with him and it is the easiest A to get. The class is 100% online and you can redo homework assignments until you get full credit. The online exams are also really easy and straightforward. He's also super sweet and caring and is easy to reach outside of class for any questions.

easiest class i've ever taken. read the online textbook and take 3 online exams (no final). Gary is super knowledgable and willing to talk more during office hours. I found this class very interesting and had no problems finishing the readings. He gives several extra credit opportunities which are very low effort. 1/10 recommend online his class :)

Gary is a very good professor, however, this class was online minus a few graded in-person field trips. I wish I knew this when signing up because I thought it would be in person. Gary does take the time to get to know you and check in on you as well as providing extra credit opportunities which is helpful. I just wish it was listed as online.

Gary Gute is a great professor and makes it clear what is expected of the class. We only met a few times during the semester, the rest of the course was entirely online, including all assignments and exams. We do meet in various places within Cedar Falls and Waterloo throughout the semester, where you get 5 points if you attend.

This was an online class taken during the summer. It was one of course set-ups where you have an online textbook and literally everything is done through the textbook. I never really had any contact with Dr. Gute other than watching his syllabus video, but the class itself was easy.

Chill guy. Easy A. Show up to class because his discussions are very interesting. Night class was scheduled 5:30-8:20pm, but we actually only meet from 6-7:30pm which is very nice.

Gary is a great guy, he is always answering any questions you may have. His class wasn't hard and it was fun, went to a couple of places and got new experiences. 10/10 recommended.
