Oh my God this class is so hard, no-one should take it,unless they are a devout Klein fan. (As am I.)Better classes to take are his colonial and 19th century classes. More fun and a litle easier.If you have to take history Klein is the BEST! Eye candy too

If I had to pick the best teacher I ever had, Doctor Klein is number one,his only fault is he roots for the Mets but hey no one is perfect. Whatever you do DO NOT CHEAT IN HIS CLASS,he will make your life hell I've seen him do it word to the wise.

Klein is the best professor I've had at WCC! He is an amazing teacher and makes history relevant and interesting. The tests are based a LOT on "Klein Time." Definately take at least one of his courses. He is very clear and offers all sides of issues. Take notes and remember the things he covers.

Engaging, entertaining, and very clear. Attendance is an absolute MUST if you want an A. The vast majority of his test questions are from class notes, so take good notes and you will do well. The final is only difficult if you don't prepare the way he tells you to. Highly recommended.

I thought this guy was a breeze. Attendance is mandatory and so is being able to copy notes from the blackboard. If you can't handle those two tasks what are you doing in college?

You really have to remember a lot of what he thinks and says, it's not so much of the notes that you copy down. Attendance and homework are a must. You can't really just sit in the class and copy the notes to get by, you really have to know the background about the history as well. He's a funny guy.

He is an excellent teacher. However, I had him for a compressed 5 week class. He gave TOO MUCH work in that time. He didn't make any accomodations for that fact that the time span was different from a regular school semester. While his multiple choice tests are very fair, he is very hard in grading essay questions. I would say he's unfair here.

I thought that he was a good teacher, alot of notes does it off power point, pay attention in class and you will do fine. His tests are easy if u pay attention in class and do the homework he asks u to do. i took his summer class.

He is a very nice and funny guy. But you really have to pay attention to what he thinks and says. That's what all of his tests are about. Don't skip class a lot and don't arrive late. Do all of your HW. He is one tough teacher.

Prof. Klein is an excellent teacher, very detail oriented and gives a lot of notes. Pay attention in class and write down everything he puts up on the board.

klein rules. he's funny and full of energy. he can really keep your attention, and he dosent hate the red sox. so I highly suggest this class if you hate the yankees and you love the mets or the red sox. And nobody gets an A in KLEINS class its impossible so dont take this class thinking your getting an easy A

The only class I looked forward to going to. Unlike most Professors, Dr. Klein actually kept me awake during class. Aside from reasearch paper, not much work either.

as a future teacher, i highly respect dr. klein. he is so helpful, and really makes u interested. its hard to not pay attention in his class. i actually really like going to his class. watch out, bcoz his tests are nearly impossible. other than that, hes great.

One of the best profs you'll ever have. He's funny (at times), he's informative, he really really knows his stuff, he actually teaches you, he cares for his students, he's just an all around cool guy. Just do the homework, show up for class, study for the tests, and then sit back and enjoy the man's class. He should win some sort of award =)

Klein is on of the greatest teachers at WCC. He knew how to teach the subject. I have to admit that before this class I was not much into history but I came out of Klein's class knowing more about 20th Century US History than ever before and being more into the subject. Klein is also available for extra help, you just have to ask him.

I love Dr. Klein! I think he's great and I do in fact look forward to Klein time....I have his class once a week and although it's a 2hr 40min class, hes so entertaining that it just flies. I highly recommend Klein for any history class you are going to take

Indeed, Dr. Klein is one of the best professor at WCC. I took two history classes with him and fell in love with history. I WOULD SAY THAT DR. KLEIN HAS A LOT OF SUBSTANCE! but little style on his interactions with his students. Like W. Wilson, he feels he is above the people! But it was all worth it!

Awesome class! Very interesting. Lively discussions w/ class and Dr Klein, who REALLY knows his material - and obviously loves history. A very fair professor. Do the work! Don't buy the "American Reader" book required for class. It was only used once for one quote needed for a paper. Find a few people to share the book with when needed.

This is the greatest teacher at wcc. He makes learning soo much fun i looked forward to seeing him every day. his tests are easy and his essays are sort of difficult but just take really good notes and youll do fine. everyone should take his classes!

1 good thing is that u cant fall asleep in this class..he does keep you awake 4 a history class, his tests are decent..but u HAVE 2 pay attention n take alot of notes, his essays r ridiculous tho, def ask questions and he's a hard grader so unless ur ok w/ that then ur ok with him. It's Klien Time. He is / was a great professor. Very accomodating for students with learning disabilities. He loves the mets so yankee fans beware , hehe. He is very helpful. If you show that you are there to learn and trying your best that is all that really matters. See him during office hours. It helps.

Dr. Klein is truly one of the greatest professors I've ever had. His teaching style keeps you involved and really makes you want to learn. His class is very interesting and the work is helpful. Some might say the work is too much or too hard, but Dr. Klein is just trying to make his students responsible for their own learning. I loved this class!!!

I had Dr. Klein for Political Science as well as 20TH Century Hist. His classes are extremely fun, he makes you laugh and is very hands on. BUT do not expect this class to be easy in any way. His tests are hard and MUST tape record his classes unless you write at the speed of lightening. Dr. Klein taught me how to be a good student!!

He always keeps it real. You know where you stand in his class at all times. If you do the work he will work with you to pass the class. Only problem with him is he is a mets fan GO YANKEES

Dr. Klein is one of the best teachers I have ever had and you are a child if you think this is a graduate course style commitment. He got me into UPenn after I got done with WCC and for this i'll always be grateful. He's hilarious and he teaches you if you put garbage in your effort for classwork, you'll get garbage out. Just like in real life.

By far the best prof I have ever had. He is not easy but he makes you think. Most people either hate him or love him. If you are looking for an easy A...move on...but if you want to see what prof's should be like...take his class...his only fault is his love of the Mets....but everyone is not perfect.

as soon as you walk into his room you are on "klein time" thats what he calls it. His work is very demanding and requires alot of time. The man is kinda on the crazy side feels that his class is the important thing ever.I was happy as hell when it ended!

Klein is the man. I took him three times an got an A each time. If you take your studies seriously you'll do fine. It's becuase of him that I won the History award at graduation. Many students fail to understand that an A is not awarded to everyone, but is instead reserved for those you go beyond the normal expectations in the work they complete.

Klein is what a teacher should be. He is hands down the best professor at WCC. I had him twice and got an A both times, but you have to work for it. He has high expectations and standards, but he is very fair. Highly, highly recommended. If you are a serious student, don't leave WCC without taking a class with him.

"Klein Time" sounds really corny, but it is IMPORTANT. If your not gonna be there everyday, make sure you get the notes. And the biggest advice i can give you is to ***RECORD THE CLASS***!!! it helped change my average from a low D to a B+. On the plus side, Klein is a funny dude who relates everything to the (whack) Mets :-) lol

I had professor Klien for 20th Century US History in the Fall of 2006. He was a GREAT professor. Hhe cares about her students and was accomodating to the students with learning disabilities. If you try your best and do your work, he is always there to help you pass even with a C. He is also avaliable after class. "It's Klien Time"

Klein is the best professor I have ever had. I took all 3 history courses with him. He is extremely fair and knows everything about history. He has inspired me to become a history teacher. If you take notes and take it seriously thaen there is no reason why you wouldn't get an A. He penalizes slackers which I think is great.

Have taken 19th & 20th C AmHx. He makes issues vivid and relevant; gives a step by step guide for homework and tests; sweats to involve students on a mind and gut level. Occasionally-he can go so fast that you may miss something. Doesn't tolerate rude/sullen/disruptive behavior. Loves history and shares his enthusiasm w/ anyone who makes an effort

The best history professor I've ever had. He's a very tough grader (do your homework!!), but is fair. His tests are not as hard as people make it seem as long as you do the work and understand the material. Makes you look at history from different angles rather than memorizing events. Uses unconventional textbooks. Made me love history afterward!

Took DK (Dr. Klein) last year each semester Great guy, super nice, really funny. You MUST go to class and pay attention and you'll be fine. He makes class fun, and I don't really like school. His tests and quizzes are fair, so if you don't show up or don't pay attention you will not pass. It's that simple. Would highly recommend!

20th Century U.S. History: I had a good time in this class. Klein has a different way of teaching that I found more appealing than reading out of a textbook. He is also very hyper and funny (which is great for an evening class). Slackers beware, as awesome as he is, he will tear you a new one if you're not making the most of his class.

I had him for 20th Century US and he was the best history professor I've ever had. I hate history but needed this class and Klein made me love coming. He's very nice and always upbeat. If you need clarification on something he's always willing. If you want to pass his exams, take notes on what he is saying not just what is on the board.

I loved Klein's class! He cares about your education and you actually learn things you won't forget when the class is done. Go to class, listen, take notes and do the work and you should be fine! "Klein Time" is a lot of fun! Dr. Klein has created a class experience - and it TRULY is an EXPERIENCE - that could get even the least interested person motivated about learning history. Hardest class I've ever taken but it's manageable, it requires a lot of studying. Best professor I've ever had. It was my lowest grade but favorite class. He's hysterical and definitely not boring.

I love "Klein Time"! If you take his class, he assigns a lot of readings and fourfive online quizzes about that. You also will have threefour tests and two essays(1500 words each). If you can handle these, definitely you'll have fun. He is the most knowledgeable teacher I've ever had. Also he cares about students very much. He helped me a lot!!!

Dr. Klein really knows what he's talking about. He's really good at explain things and is super approachable if you don't understand something. He really cares about how you're doing as a student and will literally do anything to help you succeed. Pay attention, take notes, and participate. You'll do well on the tests by doing that.

He's probably the best professor I've ever had. You need to keep good notes because literally everything is on the exams. If you pay attention and don't miss class, you'll be fine. And if for whatever reason you do miss class, you can watch recordings of the lessons. It's really helpful

Klein time can be tough. Take notes and listen to literally everything he says. My notebook is filled and I still feel his tests are hard. He is very helpful with providing the information that will be on the test and wants you to succeed. He is very understanding and will work with you if you need to miss class but attendance is a must.

Great professor. You can really tell he knows his material. The guys traveled the world and studied at enough colleges to make the average kid to throw up. Definitely recommend him even though his class is hard, he really makes sure to bring the students in. If you want to pass, he will help just make sure you want to.

Dr. Klein was tough! However, he gives great examples and is always there if you need help. He got me back up when I was getting ready to fail his class for being lazy. I took both Klein's 19th, and 20th Century classes respectively, and in four semesters at WCC he is by far the best professor I had there. In fact, I would go as far as to say that he is the best professor I have ever had anywhere. True, he makes you work for your grades, but if you attend class, and pay attention, there's no way you won't love it.

Klein remembers every one of his student's names. His full class team excersizes are a blast. Dr. Klein tries to keep the class's attention by bringing in youthful metaphors, which seemed to be bennificial to most students. I enjoyed the curriculum, and the way he uses the course to develop a student's own opinion as apposed to fact memorization.

Overall great professor. Lectures are interesting, assigned readings are about interesting topics, gives two journal assignments the entire semester; test are tough but he makes learning his work clear and easy for you to learn. One of the best classes I have taken in college so far!

He's so funny and nice, but there's no extra credit and no homework. Come to class everyday and you need to actually read and do all the things necessary to pass. It's not an easy A and when you ask for class he will really clarify things. DON'T DO ANYTHING LAST MINUTE.

Prof Klein's great and all but, only take his class if you are a major history fan. His lectures are great but the essays and test are to much. Was expecting a easy course was so wrong spend more time on his class the on my major courses.

He records the classes for those who decided to skip or miss a day. He posts them almost immediately at the school library. Tests and questions are based on facts and concepts he discusses. RECORD HIS CLASSES IF YOU CAN. Helps a ton. Final take home essay at the end of the semester. Don't miss class. YOU WILL FAIL.

No text books, but had to buy two books for cheap. Good talks, funny, can be a lot of work. Really good at waking the brain to remember. I was remembering more in other classes. No history book, but still remember how WWI started. Very interesting. Gives feedback, talks on off time too. Dedicated. Gets class involved.

Class is open discussion, lectures are posted online on Google drive just in case you miss class. Very funny and entertaining and compares the lecture into things the class can relate to. Even though he's a cool dude his class could be difficult depending on how much work you put into it. Def. study and read. Don't take class lightly.

I enjoyed Dr. Klein's class. His teaching style is progressive - perception and context are key - so you will NOT get a traditional history lesson. His lectures are thorough, intense, and thought provoking. He assigns reading from paperback books. You must come to class and focus on the lecture. He talks about his trips - pay attention.

First professor I ever had that inspired me to learn. His lectures were incredibly interesting and thorough; never to the point where I was not intrigued. He filmed every single lecture so you could reinforce what you learned during class at home. His tests were similar to the lectures/notes, never any surprises. Don't skip & be present in class

Honestly I've always loved history but this course made me love it more. Very interesting lectures. We didn't have to purchase a textbook but there was 2 books we had to pick up but they were cheap and interesting.

Not your usual professor. Dr. Klein presents three views of American History with engaging, high energy lectures and thought provoking readings. Not an easy A but you are given all the tools necessary for success. I'm an "on the cusp" Gen X'er and I approve this message...

A lot of these reviews saying that his tests are hard are clearly from students who skipped lol. He's the first teacher I've had that actually made history cool to learn. I leave every class happy from learning cool things that I didn't otherwise. He makes each lecture fun and interactive. Don't skip and don't miss the textbook readings!

He is so underrated and these reviews are absolutely inaccurate. He is very hilarious indeed! It's true that he talked about his life, but he only did that to simplify the content that would otherwise be more difficult. However, those numbskulls failed to understand him. He is well organized, kind and a hard worker. He will help, if you reach out.

I had Dr. Klein for 19th Century US History, and am forever grateful to have had a professor like him. Not only did he have very thoughtful and clear lessons, he made it fun and asked lots of questions that really got you thinking. I learned more from his class than all of my elementary, middle, and high school history classes combined. Amazing guy

I enjoyed Dr. Kleins 20th Century Class. This isnt an easy A class and he makes that very clear in the beginning. I think the lecture assignments werent too bad. You have to make sure your notes are thorough to receive a good grade. Make sure to study for the tests. He does talk about his personal life but he relates it to the lessons.

I took this course during spring 2021 & I'm honestly sad that it ended. History has always been a subject I enjoyed but he definitely enhanced this interest of mine. His way of teaching is so unique & very engaging. To say the least, my younger sister would listen to our lectures & look forward to Klein Time. Take this course, you won't regret it!!

His personality seems over-the-top at first but he's a good person and he wants you to succeed. His lectures are fun & interesting. Lots of notes, PLEASE type notes w/ a keyboard during lectures, it saves time & effort, there's lots to cover & he checks notes as part of your grade. Pen & paper too slow, take notes w/ a PC! (Trust me I got an A)

Dr. Klein isn't your run-of-the-mill professor(that's a good thing). when taking his course keep in mind that "intensity begets greatness".For my fairly short class with him, he is constantly engaging and easy to participate with for the entire lecture. The required books for class are actually great books on their own and not history bibles. read.

great guy, funny, great lectures. his lectures are never boring and it makes it easier to remember topics. just don't get too lazy.

Dr. Klein taught in a way I have never experienced before. Everything taught is connected from the beginning to the end. He gave a new meaning to history with the way he was able to connect events from the past to present. He sparked something in me to want to learn as much as I can about history. Disregard the people saying he was a bad teacher!

Don't understand how it's possible for anyone to dislike Dr. Klein or his class! It actually made me change my major because I enjoyed the new perspective he offered on history so much. He can be tough on you, but it's because he actually cares and wants you to succeed in his class. Amazing, relevant, and gripping lectures.

Dr. Klein was the most enthusiastic professor I had this semester. Every week I learned something new, I never found class boring. I'd say the class is an easy A if you read the books and not procrastinate. All the test answers are based off class notes and assigned readings. He gives students the opportunity to send drafts and focus questions.

Doctor Klein was one of the best professors I've had since being at WCC! He brings an infectious enthusiasm to lectures and his passion for history and teaching shows. How your grade is calculated is clearly outlined and getting an A isn't difficult if you're willing to put in some time. Do yourself a favor and take his class!

You have to go to each class or else you will fall behind. He warns you about how his class works on the first day. He literally says if you don't have the time or have a busy life don't take his class. DOES NOT GIVE POP QUIZZES. Tests are simple if you take the notes he gives you and actually review them.

His class is not easy but not impossible to pass take notes & ask questions. Attendance is important he records the lessons But it's better to be present. I strongly recommend both of his courses It will certainly give you a new perspective on the things you thought you knew. If you want someone who cares about ur education Klein is the way to go.

This professor has been one of my favorites. He is clear about his expectations and the class is easy to pass if you just do what you have to do. His lectures are not boring and he definitely enjoys students who are active participants.

Dr. K is a tough grader. Make sure you read his rubric for assignments and do all the readings, or you will be under prepared. Do not try to use pity into gaining extensions. He does not care. Just get the work done.

You are graded on a very low amount of assignments - most of the work you do are tests. However, the guy is very funny and I actually enjoy his class. He makes history actually fun to learn. The tests aren't hard, and you get bonus questions on the test that are easy and will help you out. The journal assigments are long to complete but thats it.

Dr. Kleins class was long but he found ways to make it fun. Tests are a bit difficult so you should be on top of studying at all times. DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE EMBARRASSED. He is funny but when it is time to get work done, he will be serious.

dr klein is my favorite professor at wcc. he keeps every lecture interesting and keeps everyone engaged. be sure to take thorough notes though because he moves pretty fast

The dude is hilarious and the best professor I've had at WCC. Makes history fun. You are graded on a very low amount of work - a final, 2 or 3 other tests, and 2 assignments. But the work is easy and he gives you plenty of time to complete it. Doesn't like when you use phone in class but other than he's pretty chill.

Talks about his personal life a lot

Dr Klein is definitely interesting in the way that I've never met a professor like him. He cares a LOT about his students but you need to show him that you care and want help. Work load is normal and not complicated, he practically explains how to do everything step by step. Plz take him!!

Klein is amazing. The course is light with 4 test in total, 2 writing assignments, and a couple of chapters to read. The people who did not pass this course either did not study, did not show up to class, or did not pay attention to his lecture. Klein does talk about his personal life but connects it to history so its not pointless. He is amazing.

Even if history isn't your specialty, Dr.Klein makes it fun and personal. He shares a lot of personal stories, but they are always tied to the topic. This helps a lot when it comes to tests. He is always enthusiastic and engaged.
