Man, this Dr. Lange is one of the nicest guys on campus. He always tries hard to be helpful. He's a little flighty, though.

Dr. Lange knows his stuff, but his tests are impossibly hard. I was a 4.0 until I took this class and got a B- and I studied my butt off-- even though I had all the previous tests from his class.

I expected the class to be dull as dust, but Dr. Lange made the course exciting. He actually encouraged us to try new things instead of just the same old stuff. His furry face is pretty cute too!

He really explains the material and most of the time, it seems boring. But, just take notes and show up to the lectures. His tests are crazy difficult, too confusing. He always gives extra credit, his writing assignments are easy points, and he curves the tests. He'll help you in any way he can.

Dr. Lange is an excellent instructor that does test hard, but it's the only way to know if you've truly learned the material. His power point presentations clarify the material and he's more than willing to give time outside of class as well.

He's great! No doubt the best biology prof. I have had here. He makes learning fun, and even though I would agree his tests are difficult, part of college is learning and sometimes that is hard. Anyone who wants to know how to become a biologist should take him! Thanks alot!

Dr. Lange is an exceptionally dedicated teacher. I have enjoyed having him for class and would be glad to take more classes from him. His tests ARE very hard, but they are actually fair and so that is ok (easier would be nicer though). He has so much knowledge and can help you learn SO MUCH MORE than you think you can.

Boring Lecture, but clear on items

A very tough and demanding professor. But, the thing is that he is excellent at his job which is to teach you to think and learn. I came out of his class feeling so good about what I learned and how much he helped me prepare for my career as a nurse! If you want to be a good nurse, take Dr. Lange.

Amazingly hard class, but Dr. Lange worked just as hard as we did and he helped us to really learn all that material in one semester! It was a whilrwind semester, but with his help I did it!

First, there is a lot of vocab. Study it. Yes there are only a few on his extremely hard tests but he gives the vocab at the beginning of the unit and it will help later. I felt it was a great class. He works just as hard as we do and is always willing to help. MAKE SURE YOU STUDY!

Good teacher, class is based on participation and 1 power point. Besides reading there is no homework. The book that he assigns is interesting if you are a biology major. Easy and interesting class.

I find it very funny how the few "somewhat positive" comments sound like they're written either by Prof. Lange himself, or maybe by a brown nosing sidekick. Anyways, pretty hard class for being a Gen. Ed. class. Don't really care for the guy. He's smart, and an okay lecturer. But his tests. Seems like theres stuff on the tests that I've never seen.

Difficult class. I spent a lot of time studying for this class but that studying paid off. Ended up with an A in the class. His exams are difficult if you don't know the material well, although there are some questions on the exams that he never went over. When grading he takes out bad questions and gives a curve for each exam.

Awesome professor. The material is extremely difficult but he curves things and makes things better for you. Study the things off the study guides, they seem to be the most helpful. I would take him again.

Prof Lange is a great teacher and explains things well, but once you get to the tests...it is a whole new story. This class is a challenge and you must a) go to class and b) STUDY. I recommend that you take the sample tests. They do help and ask questions!

Professor Lange is very knowledgable in what he teaches. I looked forward to going to lectures. Class attendance is neccesary to get all the information. A&P is a hard class and his tests are difficult. If you are willing to put in a lot of time to study and pay attention to detail it will pay off. The sample exams are very helpful study tool.

His lectures are interestings. He is glad to help students during office hours. His papers, while sometimes confusing and typically on rats, help balance out his tests, which are tricky (usually in the "two of the above" format"

Knows what he's talking about, but sometimes knows too much. Gets not necessarily off subject, but onto subjects that won't help with the exam. Good professor though, kind of boring voice, so don't go to class tired. But he gives out great study guides/sample questions that help a lot. Just be sure to take notes in class and read over them.

So if you are not that good of a test taker, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!! That is a warning. He is a good teacher though, he really does know his stuff. Thinks he knows everything because he has a PhD. It kind of seems like his tests are really set up for failure, however. Study hard.

Good teacher, but extremely difficult exams! Also, if you plan on ever transferring don't take SVSU's anatomy & physiology because it doesn't transfer anywhere because the way they have the lab screwed everything up. Learned this the hard way... so now I'm taking this class again at Delta.

Very difficult class, but so worth it. Makes you study really hard for his class. Final is cumulative, but really easy compared to other exams. Exams are very tricky, a. b. c. d(two of the above) e(all of the above/none of the above) style of exams. Terrible at getting back to students on e-mails. Offered me research, still waiting on starting.

Very nice professor and very helpful. He always curves test by at least 15-20 points and gives out plenty extra credit. I found his test to be quite difficult but very fair. I passed with a B even though i failed 2 out of 4 test. Plenty ways to make up lost test points.

Easily the best teacher at Saginaw Valley. He knows how to explain the material so that students can fully understand it. Wish I could take every single class with him!!

Lange is one of the best prof's I've had. Even though it is not mandatory you should go to every class and take really good notes. His lectures are really interesting so it makes going to class easy. Everyone says 232 is the hardest class but I found that it wasn't hard it was time consuming. If you put in the work and actually tryyou will do fine!

I took this class for the spring semester and it was a challenge. A LOT of material is required to learned but Dr. Lange is amazing. He is squirrely sometimes but he is very knowledgable in his field. He challenges you intellectually which is awesome. He does curve but you must still work hard and apply yourself!

But I took this in the spring and received an A-. He curves 10-15 a test. I would recommend him if you want to know more about the subject!

He always treats his students with respect and makes you want to learn. Take him, go to his office and ask questions, and you will mature as a future professional.

Dr. Lange didn't hand out grades, he wanted you to learn past the idea of simple memorization. His lectures are very interesting, and he really enjoys his job. He makes you work for your grade BUT I would take him again over someone who grades easier. He lectures in ways that help you remember. VERY great professor, very fair and understanding.

I loved his class. The exams were very straightforward and he specifically pointed out what areas to study. The lab was fun and the lab exams were very easy. The one thing I disliked was that he did not go over the tests after they were graded which would've been helpful. Otherwise he's a great teacher.

Dr. Lange is very disorganized which can be frustrating at times. He is awful at responding to emails and could potentially lose some of your papers if he forgets. However, he is incredibly passionate about Developmental Bio and he makes the class interesting. He also curves the exams so "we won't be too stressed".

Hes a really good guy and his teaching makes it easy to follow. Tests are extremely hard, but theres a 10% curve usually. This class also was in the summer so it was faster paced. Anatomy is hard in general but he is a great professor for it. Theres 4 exams and a final with some online homework for each section.

He looks over every test after he gives it to make sure questions are fair and he gives bonus points for questions that seemed a bit unreasonable, or if we didn't really go over the material. If you have the chance to take Dr. Lange, do it. You will learn more than a powerpoint could ever tell you, in a simplistic and non-overwehlming way. Professor Lange is a sweet, little old man who is very knowledgeable and passionate about anatomy and physiology. I felt that his powerpoints weren't very helpful during lecture and the tests didn't really correlate with everything that was discussed during the lecture. He will give extremely beneficial curves (10% !). I would take him again.

Dr. Lange was a great teacher! He explained the matieral throughly and moves at a reasonable pase. All of lecture exams are curved by 8-10 points so there is a chance that you'll go up a whole letter grade, which is also a plus. Just be aware that his exams are meant to trick you because he words them very strange, but besides that he is awsome!

Honestly one of my favorite professors since I have been at SVSU. Yes, this is a very hard class, but Dr Lange curves very generously. His powerpoint are very basic but he writes on the board mostly everything you need to know for the exam. He is very passionate about what he teaches. Would definitely take him again in a heartbeat.

Have to attend lectures. The exams are pretty hard, they have weird answers, but he curves. We had 4 exams and he curved each of them between 8-10 points. He has the easiest homework, however he talks slow so whatever you don't go over in class you have do learn by yourself.

BEST PROFESSOR! He always curves exams which is really nice, however, the exam wording can be hard... he calls them 'deeper level of understanding questions'. This really makes sure you understand the material and are getting your moneys worth in this course.

Dr. Lange is very lecture heavy, but he is really good at explaining tough subjects. His exams are high level thinking. He gives study guides. He does not upload grades onto Canvas, so you have to keep track of it yourself. He does curve exams which helps a lot! He is very kind and approachable. Some exam questions are quite hard, but with it being online, studying was easy because you can rewatch lectures over and over. Curves on exams but not by a ton of points, and doesn't respond to emails often. But if you work towards it, you can do very good in the class! You can tell Prof Lange cares a lot about his students.

Lange is a very sweet guy overall! For me he kinda teaches slow which got irritating sometimes but i had this class Fall 2020 so it was online and i could just make the echo 360 go faster. He curved every lecture exam (4) and lab exam 1. ive counted about 40+ extra points from curves. I would recommend taking him.

Dr. Lange truly cares about his students and is SUPER nice! Lecture exams are a little tough (two of the above, which statement is t/f?), but the lab exams are easy. Lots of projects/assignments aside from the exams to boost your grade, but they are time consuming. About 20 points of extra credit is offered. He struggles to answer emails though.

Lecture heavy and would probably be considered a weeder class. His exams involve many deeper thinking questions that are multiple choice but can make you second guess yourself as the opinions are often one of the above, two of the above, a and c, etc. It takes a lot of work but the class itself is not too difficult. He curved every exam too.

Professor Gary Lange has been my favorite professor so far at svsu, he really cares for his students and wants them to learn. Would highly recommend to take him, gives tons of extra credit. Tests are hard he has higher level thinking questions, but if you study and pay attention to what he says you will have no problem passing the class. Great!!!!

Professor Lange is extremely knowledgable and you can tell that he cares about what he is teaching. I took it online and the lectures were prerecorded, so that made it quite easy to watch and rewind if needed. His exams are very difficult; however, so make sure you study in depth. Work hard and you should succeed. This class is not for lazy people.

Professor Lange is one of the best Bio professors that I ever had. You have to work hard for the class. His lectures are clear and tries to explain everything. Also, the tests grades are curved most of the time, so that helps a lot. He is amazing.

This course was quite difficult for a freshman in college, but professor Lange really helped in my success. His exams were a bit confusing, but if you take the time to study and really put in the effort, you can improve. He curves all of his exams and provides plenty of opportunities for extra credit, and will reopen missing assignments if asked.

Dr. Lange gives E.C. and curves grades. He is extremely sweet and cares a lot about his students. He posts "study guides" for the tests that have all of the topics for the exam on them, so you know what to study. His class is hard but he does really want his students to succeed. Dr. Lange is a wonderful professor. Attendance is not completely mandatory because he posts all PowerPoints on Canvas. However, the lectures he gives in person are amazing and contain many examples and interesting feedback from himself. He is also very knowledgeable about everything he teaches.

Dr. Lange is the best professor I have had for a science class. Anatomy 232 is detail-oriented and diffucult - we have to learn all about each body systems and there is a lot of information to take in. However, Dr. Lange made learning this information manageable. He gives weekly assignments that put less weight on the exams. Take Dr. Lange!

I would recommend Professor Lange to literally anybody. Obviously Anatomy is a hard class but he explains the information very clearly and has a curve for every exam (sometimes a very large curve). The test questions were odd, but there are no trick questions and it's all over things that were covered in lecture. Great guy.

Professor Lange is very clear in his lectures and he also like to add in a few puns every now and then which makes class enjoyable. This is a hard class so it makes sense that the tests are difficult but he provides you with the information, it is up to you to put in the work to good the grade you want.

I took Dr. Lange for both BIO232 and BIO 233. He is such an easy professor. He makes content accessible to you. There is a lot of extra work in the class but it is a nice buffer for your grade. He always gives extra credit. He is just so kind and he loves teaching. 10/10 recommend

Take Gary for anatomy he is amazing. By far my favorite professor at SVSU. He genuinely wants you to get the best grade possible. He included notes for his powerpoint so if you ever miss class you dont miss information. A+P 2 is much easier than the first one. I 100% recommend taking him!!

Lange is the best professor for anything biology but especially A&P. I had him in the spring semester so the work load was pretty heavy and goes by super fast. It can seem daunting but if you keep up with it and put in the effort you'll do fine. He cares and gives 100% so you should care and give 100%.

gary is great but class is fairly difficult as expected. majority of points are exams which can be hard with a lot of tricky questions. other assignments are worth almost nothing. he always curves the exams though which are helpful. i would recommend taking him he is very caring and explains material pretty well

I took this accelerated, it's a very difficult class due to the material. Tests are difficult but homework is beyond easy. Do the work, study!
