His class is not hard if you know how to follow instructions. I feel like I became a better writer after I took his class.

This class is very fun, he gets very into his lectures and you can tell that he enjoys teaching. You only have to write 3 papers throughout the whole semester.

He is a great teacher, his class is easy you just need to follow his directions and you will do fine in that class.

Almost all of the required reading he did in class and checked for understanding. We was willing to go the extra mile with any student who was trying to do well. He was very particular about the formant of the essays he assigned but gave complete instruction about what he wanted. I very much enjoyed his class and will take him for Brit. Lit.

Dr. Montano is a wonderful teacher, alot of teachers just give you an A without teaching you anything. You will definetly leave his class a better writer and He's willing to help his students, but he gets very agitated with winers.

HE is one of the best teachers you could ever have. He explains the class really good and he is always willing to help students.

Mr. Montano is an excellent teacher! His class was so fun and he is really funny. I hated english before his class now I am really interested. He is the best english teacher I have ever had and as long as you do the work, you will pass. He is a lot of fun and I would highly recommend him! I am definately taking him for Comp 2!

Mr. Montano is the best english teacher I have ever had. True you have to go to class everyday, and you have to put effort into your work, but in the end you will be thankful. I took comp II and world lit with this professor. He was excellent in every way. Keeps you busy, not an easy A, but you will definitely learn alot and never regret the class.

I was conflicted about Mr. Montano's class. On the one hand, he is a brilliant teacher who knows his material backwards and forwards. On the other hand, he is kind of hard to approach and kind of seems to care more about the material being taught than the students learning it. A difficult but enlightening class, I recommend it for serious students.

Its a very fun class but u do have to work at it. In comp2 its all bout analyzin his work. U write3 papers, and have 3exams. He is funny.I recommend goin to him after writing a paper, so he can edit.Believe me ull need it, in order to pass.

Mr. Montano knows his subject and it shows in his lectures. He is passionate about literature. Do not whine that he is unfair and hard. You are adults people and he expects you to act like adults. Life is not fair and life can be hard. If you are looking for an easy A or a class where you do not need to put in any effort, find another teacher.

Great discussions in class but if your a "so-so" writer RUN. But if you can take the comments and red marks on your paper it is worth the classroom discussions.

This is one of my favorite teachers at TCC. He really knows what he is doing, he is very helpfull. As long as you try you can get an A in this class. It is important to listen to his lectures they will help you on test and on essays.

You will walk away knowing how to write. He is picky about your grammer usage, but he will take all the time you need to read your paper before you have to turn it in, and help you fix your paper. I will go back to other of his classes.

He is a very helpful teacher

I absolutely loved this class. It was not easy and it did take work but I walked away a better writer and I learned so much. It was a privilege to learn from someone so dedicated. I looked forward to every class. The work load is semi-heavy but well worth it. He makes it fun. He makes you think about your writing from so many perspectives.

He helps you but extra picky on your grammar if you think you can write take him because he demands almost perfect papers the highest grade you might get in the first paper is a C if you really try be careful if you choose him everyone says is easy but they do not tell you that you have to read almost six novels and write papers out of some of them

Although you do have to read a lot, you will learn in this class. I suggest taking it because you have to learn how to write. If you ask for help, he is more than willing to do anything for you. I don't consider myself a good writer but managed an A in his class because I took really good notes. Take him if you don't want an easy way out

I can positively, proudly say Mr. Montano is my favorite teacher of all time. Not only is he willing to help any student with the material; his passion for teaching shines through, which honestly makes him and the class so enjoyable. He tries to keep things fun and challenging in an attainable way. His tests were easy and interesting to get into!

Very hard professor. Requires three, five page papers. He is helpful if asked. I learned a lot. Be prepared to read and write a lot. A legend in his own mind.

You don't have to do a lot of work in the class, just requires a few papers throughout the semester. They can be tricky but he is willing to help you and encourages it. He reads the literature for the class most of the time. What I liked the most of the class is the participation he likes to get from the class on thoughts, ideas, and feedback.

awsome teacher and will help you when you need it especially on your papers. i had no clue how to write a "literary analysis" and he help me almost every step of the way. i wrote my paper and he helped me with corrections and suggestions. i made sure to go to his office hrs and it earned me an A!

He knows his Literature and has very high expectations of his students which was some what intimidating at first but he is very helpful if you ask. He will go over your paper with you before you turn it in to help you. I write better now because of him. Overall great teacher but you will have to work for an A

Wonderful teacher. I took English Comp reluctantly and 2 Brit lit classes because he was the instructor. He has high expectations, but will help you do your best work in his classes. Not a class for people who want an easy A, but certainly for people who love to learn. One of the BEST I have ever encountered.

He is a bit diffcult but he is very helpful. all I have to say is, have him look over you 1st paper if you do take him! You will be glad you did. overall, if you dont like to work hard, dont take him. This is a good class for English Majors. He is smart.

This guy is extremely knowledgeable in his literature, his expectations are high but he is willing to help you if needed. He is very clear with his lessons and will even look over your papers to see what little mistakes you have made and will give recommendations on how you want to fix it. PHENOMENAL INSTRUCTOR!

Amazing teacher that loves what he is teaching about. Be in class because missing one day throws you off. Especially on tests because he does not use scantrons it is all written. But if you in class it will be easier. Papers are the only thing i struggled with. He is strict on grammar! Ask for help if you need it! Loved his class i learned so much!

If you're looking for an easy A, look elsewhere. If you're wanting to improve the way you write and your grammar, take Dr. Montano. He is huge on grammar. It is clear that he loves what he does and he really cares about your success. He's really helpful with checking your papers before you turn them in as well. Highly recommended.

Don't take this if you think it will be an easy ride. This teacher challenges you and you won't make it out the class the same way you came in. It is very interesting. However, this is not for the easily defeated. You have to fight through the hard work. It doesn't go to waste though.

Very passionate about his work. Explains very thoroughly what we are reading. Constantly making sure everyone understands the lecture. He hates it when students leave before class ends. (If you plan on leaving early let him know before hand) He is always willing to help when asked. Prepare yourself, if your writing is not all that great.

Super easy class, just show up and you get an A. A's all around. Blow off class. 2 Essays 1 Final. Very easy assignments, got away doing them night before. If you want an easy A take this class. Literally did nothing but show up. :)

Dr. Montano is a good instructor. He grades EXTREMELY tough on papers, will pick apary EVERY little detail, but is clear on what he wants. He seems to get a little irritated if you go in to see him too often, but will help nonetheless. Wish that I had taken a bit easier of a teacher since this isn't my major, but he did a good job.

Very tough grader, he will find EVERYTHING wrong w your essays. Would not reccommend taking his class unless you are an english major. Class consisted of 3 essays, 1 midterm and the final.

Very difficult, but is not impossible to pass. If you let him review your draft at least twice before turning it in, your essays will be amazing. Listen to his feedback and apply it to your work and it will pay off. He sets the bar high for his students and it can be met. You will become a better writer, and he will help you as long as you ask.

Dr. Montano was a profound, caring, empathetic, respectful professor. His ability is his nature. I was recommended to take his class from a prior student from another college I had previously attended. He will work with you shall an emergency arise. He is very clear on what he wants out of his essays. 4 essays, and 1 mid term. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS! He will help you grow in your writing techniques! I took his 8 week course, and it was really fast pace. If you need time to write, then take his 16 week course. Wish I had him for Comp 1! Will be taking him for American literature.

The main thing I want to stress about this class is that it is no blow. If you want an easy teacher, do not take him. Tough grader. He is a great teacher and genuinely loves his job. He will always be there to help you IF YOU ASK FOR IT. I recommend taking him if you are an English major or want to improve on your writing skills.

I took Dr. Montano for Comp. II and British Literature. He is a wonderful professor. He cares about his students. He recognizes effort and will go out of his way to help if you ask for it. He is a tough grader so do NOT take his class if you want an easy A. If you decide to take his class, just know you'll actually gain from the experience.

He gives you specific guidelines and tells you exactly how he wants his papers done. Very big into grammar but will take the time to help you with it! It was difficult but this class genuinely made me a better academic writer. Prepares you for the next level.

Dr Montano is a great teacher, hes one of the few that actually teaches correct grammar. I would recommend taking notes on what he says, and do exactly what he says. Honesty, hes a little cocky but its a good thing, his confidence can boost moral and help get his point across.

Dr. Montano doesn't waste a second of class time. If you pay attention to his lectures, take notes, and use him to assist with your drafts for assignments you'll do just fine. Best professor I've ever had hands down. If you can, take his English 1301 and 1302 classes. He'll really be able to help you improve your writing skills for the future.

Just finished this class. He only has 4 papers and that's it. He is very cool however. If you know your grammar and spelling and write how he wants you to write, you will pass. If you need help on that, he will meet up with you and help you. He is very dedicated. He literally broke some ribs and still showed up to help me. This class is doable.

2 papers, 2 projects and a final. That's it. I took his British Literature class and it's amazing! He gives clear guidelines on all assignments and genuinely wants students to pass. He has a doctorate degree in English so you know he knows what he's doing. Have your papers read by him a few days before the due date and you'll do great!

Montano is an amazing professor. There was only four grades so you must do your work. VISIT WITH HIM WHEN YOU HAVE A PAPER. It will harm you if you dont. He will help you out by reading it and informing you on what mistakes you can fix. He will truly set you up for success all the way. He cares about his students, and he makes that obvious.

By far the best english professor I have ever had!! He makes sure you walk out of his course knowing something new and makes you work for your grade. His papers are a little intimidating, especially with all the red marks you get back, but it's not as bad as it may seem. He is dedicated to his work.

Very interesting, and really brought old English literature alive. All materials we needed to read were provided in blackboard. Grade was determined by 4 papers and a project. He's funny and fair, but a super tough grader. Always available to help. Very approachable, and lets you eat in class. Get ready to read and write a lot.

Great professor. The material was fun. He replied to all of my frequent emails (most of the time within the day) and is easy to approach if you have any questions. Class was not easy, but professor made it the most digestible yet educational course. Wasn't the easiest, but I'd take it again in a heartbeat.

I taken his class fro Fall semester and I liked his lectured but the main issues was that he is a tough grader who expects your paper to be perfect and had only 4 essays assigned. I unfortunately did fail his class and if I had the choice to take him again, i wouldn't only because of the tough grading and less assignments assigned.

I took this class my second semester and he was AMAZING. His lectures were informational and actually gave knowledge to assignments and papers that were expected of us. He respects your time as you respect his. Attendance is mandatory for a good grade. He makes himself available for questions/concerns. I would take one of his classes again.

This professor was amazing! He is tough grader but he's willing to read your essays before you submit them and tell you how to improve your writing for a better grade. If you decide to take him, be aware, you cannot ChatGPT your way through this course. He teaches you a VERY specific essay format that he wants you to utilize.

I highly recommend taking his class. Even if you are not an English major, writing is going to be a majority of the college experience. He was a good professor but does grade hardly. Gave good feedback on each paper but as stated grads tough. Only negatives is strict grading and constant bragging about "never makes grammar errors" for whatever reason which is annoying. (Only 4 essays)

This class is a big step from 1301 to 1302. The class is made up of 4 essays with no opportunities for extra credit. There are no outside homework assignments. Attendance is mandatory. He has flexible office hours but YOU have to go knock on his door. He is funny a little lecture heavy but take notes and engage and you can do well in his class.
