this professor is extreamly knowledgable. he is thorough in his sessions and is plenty patient. he doesnt hesitate to explain missed concepts in leccture. he doesnt give too much homework but like in all other college courses, if you want to have a good understanding of the material, do a few more of the unasigned problems for homework.

Mr. Penner is a sweet guy. He's strict but super nice. He's so patient and clear in teaching as well. The material is hard but he makes you understand it so well and makes it easy. Study your notes, and read over the review guide he gives you and you should be fine! Great Teacher!

Penner is a good math teacher, makes his explanations as simple as possible. Take notes in class and study those for the test. The mastery tests are not always the most helpful for the real test, so i suggest studying notes from class. He gives a great study guide which makes it impossible to not know what to do on the test.

Greatest professor I've ever had. He's helpful, and cares about his students. Tests are not hard if you study his reviews. He has four tests, multiple choice, 15-20 questions each. I took 1414 with him and will take 1235 again. Highly recommend.

Best math teacher I've ever had. He teaches accordingly to My Math Lab. The tests are multiple choice and he curves on all of them. He allows a cheat sheet on the final. Just do the work and study and you'll do great. Definitely recommended!

I took Calc I with Prof. Penner a few semesters ago. I thought he was a very good prof, prepared and professional. Calculus was not a topic of interest for me, and there was definitely a lot of studying involved due to the subject matter, but Penner took time to explain the material and his tests were fair. You can use your textbooks, notes, scientific calculators, and scratch paper only (no other electronic devices like laptops, cellphones, etc.). If you have the software version of the textbook, installed on a laptop/ipad/etc, you must notify the instructor that you will use the electronic device to view the textbook only.

Very helpful teacher, takes the time to explain each step he takes. Have always hated math and I got an A in his class! Show up to class, attendance will help you get bonus. His tests are easy, multiple choice and he covers the material before the test.
