This is the most patient teacher I've come across. He's very helpful and wants you to understand material before going on to something new. His tests are moderately difficult but nothing that isn't covered in the notes, homework or book. I highly recommend this teacher!

he is a pretty great teacher. i never understood math well unil i took him. he will help u and for mth 098, the tests are like the quizzes exactly and if u do ur homework and quizzes and put some effort,i guarantee u that u will pass. u wont go wrong with this teacher

Very helpful and thorough. Answers all questions and has a great comprehensive review for the tests. Very understanding of the trials and tribulations of the older working student.

He is a good teacher, just do the work and you will pass the class. He is a nice guy and teaches everything very clearly. If you do not understand something he is there every day after class to ask questions. Very helpful.

I do not understand one bit why anyone would say anything negative about Mr. Piercy. He is crystal clear, kind, interested in his students' learning, always available and made my worst, most hated subject bearable. He's sooo hot too once you get to know him. He explains everything well and I would CERTAINLY recommend him to anyone!! <3

This guy is the BEST!!! DO NOT buy the textbook. It is not required. Very helpful. If you understand the material and ask questionss there is no reason why you shouldn't get a good grade, I got a B. TAKE HIM!!

he is a real good teacher, very helpful and knows what he is talking about. he does not mind 101 questions, I failed algebra with a different teacher the semester before(i didnt understand anything) then i took it with peircy and i got an A. Anybody who says he is a bad teach, just didnt work hard enough. best, most helpful teacher i ever had.

One of the best math teachers i have had. He's very easy going, explains things clearly, very understanding. Tests, quizes, and homework are EASY! Great personality and sense of humor. He's a teacher i recomend. If you pay attention you have a sure A in the class. BEST TEACHER EVER!!!!!!!!!

I would highly recommend him. I take his class online. The past three tests I have got 100% on and have a high "A" average in the class. Easy.

I am horrible at math, absolutely horrible, and Mr. Peircy made everything so easy. He is the best math teacher I have ever had in my life, and I wish he taught 120 because I don't know what I'll do without him after 098. Highly, highly recommend.

Great teacher. Explains problems step by step, he is very knowledgeable and teaches you how and why problems are solved. Excellent teacher, USES MATHXL. His notes are great too. Overall i'd take him again in a heart beat.

Mr Piercy is a great teacher. I was terrible at math but he knows how to teach. He is very clear and will make sure the class understands before moving on. The key behind college is trying! Do your homework and go to class and you will succeed.

I took Piercy for 095 and got an A in math for the first time in my life, then I tried two other teachers at Moraine for 098 only to have to drop both of them because I was so lost. If you struggle in math he is hands down THE BEST teacher at Moraine. TAKE HIS CLASS

Mr. Piercy is an EXTREMELY helpful teacher. If anyone complains about not doing well in his class, then you didn't give your best. He doesn't ask much from you. Just show up and listen to what he's teaching. His homework is on MathXL which saves you money buying the book. He is very clear in his lectures and super patient. You shouldn't fail.

He uses a lot of MATHXL, but it is a helpful internet site for Math. Awesome teacher, easy to understand and VERY helpful, laid back teacher

He doesn't make it easy but he teaches VERY well. If you take notes, do the homework, you shouldn't have a problem passing the class. I loved him! :)He uses math XL. Do NOT buy the book.

I took his class online and he had videos that clearly explained each section. When I had questions he was available and I considered him a good teacher. I had to withdraw from his class because my computer broke and it took three weeks to repair and I didn't think I would be able to recover with my other classes. I recommend this online class.

I had him 2013 spring I didn't know about this site but anyways hes an awesome teacher. explained everything well. don't buy book never used it. he's an excellent math teacher. I'm taking him for math 098 in the summer online take him!

Good(s): kind, willing to help 1 on 1. Straight forward test. Is merciful on grading. Allows retakes. Bad(s): teach a little too fast. Tries to cram a lot of sections in a day. Websites Recommended for extra help: YouTube and mathisfun Advice: nothing really just study. You'll be fine.

Do your self all a favor and take Mr. Piercy. He is very good at explaining the material at a nice slow pace. You will not regret taking as he is easily the best Math teacher at Moraine!

He makes math so easy to understand. Mr. Piercy teaches and explains at a nice slow pace so that everyone understands and appreciates the material. He is so helpful and is never bothered to help anyone DURING or after class. He is there for you and will explain things over as many times as it takes for you to grasp it. Best teacher hands down.

Mr. Piercy overall was a good teacher. Online class, you don't have as much communication so you have to have to have to email him if you have question. This class teaches you to be super independent. You're in control. A lot of homework though.

Took summer on line. Posts his own lectures besides the books tutorials. Replies quickly to questions via email. Actually gives feed back on tests. I recommend him if you have not taken math in a while.

Mr. Piercy has been absolutely wonderful during my course of intermediate algebra. If it weren't for his grading, helpfulness, and just the simple fact the he cares, I wouldn't have passed this course. Im terrible at math and he has made this a breeze. He responds to emails quickly and will accommodate your needs if possible. Highly recommend him!

Before I take Mr. P last semester I read about him here and I wasn't so happy but I had to take his class it was the best time for my schedule,the thing is, don't believe everything you read on here before you try he's amazing I took with him 95 and 98 and got A's although I'm bad at math but he helps a lot, not textbook but you need to bu MATHXL

I'm reading now all these comments marked as "poor" and don't understand who you guys are talking about. I've never been good at math, and i'm also not american so i face some language difficulties during studying. HOWEVER, he is a great teacher! He explains everything and helps everyone! He does his job awesome, so you have to work hard as well

Really great at lectures but offers no extra credit. If it's mth 098 u won't need extra credit because late homework is deducted 1% per day so you don't actually need to have it done on time

I don't know why he has so many negative reviews! He always asks after a problem if anyone needs to have another one done. So if you don't speak up, it's your fault! Quizzes are open notes and he helps you on them. Homework is an easy 100% as long as you do it. He's amazing. I wish he taught more classes! I would take him for every math class!

Took 098 online and finished with a 94 no need to take in person. I am horrible at math but the online gives you exact examples just like the problems so readily available it makes it so easy to understand let alone a show textbook option. Gives exact and personal feedback on tests and problems. Due dates are very clear and class is very organized.

Piercy is honestly the only reason I'm making it out of 098. I took this class three times and had to drop it each time and get permission from advising to take it one last time. He's the first teacher to explain things in a way I understand instead of rushing through the material. Loads of practice problems available. Take him!

Im not a math person whatsoever, but Piercy made it manageable! Super helpful, responds to emails, fair grading. 10/10. Wish he taught stats!

MR. PIERCY IS A GREAT TEACHER. I USUALLY SUCK AT MATH AND HE MAKES IT VERY EASY FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND EVERY CHAPTER. SO FAR I RECIEVED A'S ON ALL MY TESTS. LISTEN AND WRITE EVERYTHING HE PUTS ON THE BOARD DO THE HW AND YOU WILL PASS.

I took him for 095 & 098. He's a clear teacher and even has lecture videos to watch in case you're stuck. Gives back partial credit on tests for showing work so it's hard to fail a test really. He doesn't have a problem going over material and helps whenever you ask. I wish he taught 120, he's awesome. PICK HIM.

Professor Piercy is great! If you ask questions he will clearly answer them for you. I am not great in math but it was nice to see that he does extra videos online in case you didn't understand the material in class. Would take him again!

Highly recommended. He makes sure you get the full points for the homework so you can get a good grade in the class. I got an "A" grade for MTH 095 and an "A" grade for MTH 098. Gary is a respectful teacher and never misses class. His rate my professor ratings are terrible, but they were probably bad students.

Take him, you wont regret it

He is really nice and you can tell he truly cares for his students. He includes many resources including step by step videos and lectures as well as practice exams to help you pass the class. I recommend taking him, you won't regret it.

Professor Piercy is decent overall. His lecture videos and review packets help, but he can be test-heavy. I found unstuckstudy and ChatGPT useful for study prep. Attendance is mandatory, so stay engaged.
