Good teacher, learned a lot, essays are pretty much given, not to much homework

This guy was pretty cool. He said to call him Gary instead of Dr. Pollitt. He is also very hot and likes to surf. He really helped me with all my essays and likes to joke around.He's gonna let me drive his car maybe and we are like best buds.

The best English Prof. in the school.

He has a lotta energy. He helps you if you ask. He very sarcastic. He's entertaining if you're having a bad day. He teaches you everything to know.

easiest teacher i've taken in my life. this was like english class for preschoolers. he'll help you with your essays as long as you see him. you'd have to try really hard to fail his class.

He is ok. You have to attend EVERY class,do EVERY assignment, and do EVERY Extra Credit offered just to have a chance at getting an A. Its possible to do, i got an A, but just kinda annoying

This man is wierd, funny, sarcastic yet enjoyable. He does not ask for much but demands perfection on them. Must attend most classes and do every paper to receive an easy B or A.

Great teacher would recommend anyone to take him. Hes very helpful. His class is really easy theres only 3 test and theyre no brainers. one thing you have to attend class, but its always fun. He really gets to know his students plus hes pretty cute. Garys great

unlike those teachers that try to be funny, he actually is. but don't try to go above and beyond. just do exactly what he says and youre sure to get an A. i want o hook him up with my mom.

Pick this professor! he is the BEST! the way he teaches with the print out book is weird...just pretty much a lot of copy/paste it comes in handy! and he keeps everyone awake in class! and its REALLY hard to fail his class! lowest grade you would ever get would be a C and thats barely trying!

His directions are hard to understand most of the time, but he makes all his assignments nice and short, not too much work in the class.

HOW IS HE HOT?! haha..(I had to get it out). Anyways. He's crazy. He goes off on tangents and...he's just crazy. But you should definetly take him for ENG 101. Easy class. You buy a packet. Do the stuff in there..(elementary stuff really...), write a few papers (easy as well) and you're basically done. He focuses on the basics of writing a paper.

MUY CALIENTE. his infamous quote "give me money." super easy class. you wont be bored at all in class. bring food to class.. he teaches us how to share food.. and he'll love those who bring him money&food. he teaches how to write papers with ease. the 123 method. it helps.. it really does. totally recommend.

This class was fun but the professor can be a little odd! However, the class will help in the long run.

He's crazy. He's always screaming and saying "give me money." But he's super easy. But you actually learn something. Because you go back to the basics people ignore.

He's soo funny and upbeat. I think it's impossible to space out his class because he has you so motivated to keep up that you can't fall behind. He makes English a fun experience and a class that I look forward to going to :)

made english super interesting by using cool new ways to teach. i took him in the summer and he made us write essays on cool subjects one was on the lyrics of Jewels "Ironic". best english professor out there..and super hott

AWESOME TEACHER!its super easy..just go to class & do ur work..theres no textbook reading involved just papers in which he practically tells u what to write. I actually learned a lot more than i thought i would've in this class. Very helpful and very easy.

When I asked Pollitt how to get an A, he told me to show him my "A"ness. Then when he was eating almonds in class, he asked if you wanted sample one of his nuts. When you give him your paper he will proably ask if he is going to have to go back on the crack pipe after he reads it. I think the guy acts like a clown to hide his tender heart.

I took this calss in the summer and it was very easy. Had to show up to class. Essays were very easy. All about proper grammer. Gives templets, so the essays were dummy proof. Tests were all about grammer. Easy easy stuff. However, he grades "hard." expects perfection on essays becasue they are so easy. Over all very easy english class

HE did a handstand the first day of class. Very c00l. If you go to class and follow the rubrics for the essay that he pretty much walks you through what to write/do you should get an A.

It is my first week so i have only seen him a couple of times but so far so good, he seems to want you to do well in his class and he is very funny, he will do whatever it takes for you to understand and be into the class.. and he talks fast and a lot if he has coffee.. its funny

He was really funny with his stories and jokes. As long as you do the work and attend the class you should get at least a B. dont be late to many times, he got really mad at one girl in the class

Easy class, but sometimes he's not so organized so u can b a bit lost. Has a sense of humor and makes a lot of jokes. Classwork is done as a class and most hw assigments is just typing up classwork. Attendance is important bc he gives points on classwork. Usually finishes class early. Overall easy teacher, easy to pass his class.

Gary is really harsh on attendance though he lets class out early on a daily basis. He's sometimes unclear though there is a lot of easy work done as a class. And he chooses on a whim what work each individual student can or cannot make up. I'd say he's a so so professor... It'll be easy for you if you take the class and stay on his good graces!

Pollitt is the man. Had us read very interesting books. When he taught at Mt Sac, we red the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Beowulf, and Watchman. How cool is that? Tests usually involve critical thinking on the subject matter, and some opinion. Awesome course.

Highly recommend Pollitt! Really eccentric funny guy. His ENG101 class is fairly easy; no reading, just working out of his own published grammar book, which taught me everything I ever needed to know in the subject of English. In-class work and hw given on most days, but he lets you work on it in class and lets you out early.

Fantastic teacher with a unique teaching method. I would recommend his class to anyone!

I just would like to say that i wish Gary could teach every class i took. He is seriously one of the greatest teachers ever!! he really helps out his students, you get your emails answered asap. his grading is easy! you dont use a textbook, he makes his own workbook. essays are the easiest to write and you learn SO much. i recommend him to everyone

Let me tell you, he's the greatest, nicest, and funniest teacher I have ever had. I learned a lot from him. His workbook will give you more knowledge than you would ever learn from any class. When you're in his class, you'll not only learn a lot but have fun as well. His jokes are hilarious. I'd recommend him 100%!!! You rock, Pollitt!

Pollitt was the best teacher I've ever had! His essay are short but precise. The workbook (which he himself created) is extremely helpful and teaches you A LOT! He's extremely understanding and his jokes are hilarious! Not to mention you always get out of class early! What's not to like?

Very easy class to understand as long as you attend. He is funny and nice to look at. He is an easy B but hard to get an A. His step-by-step method is very helpful for future English classes. You will enjoy this teacher if you have him.

His class pretty much consists of him giving you the answers to the textbook he wrote. His papers also consists of filling in the blanks of his textbook and then going home and typing it. His grading isn't that fair. I admit I did learn a lot about standard writing skills, it refreshed my memory, but I do not feel like he really cared about teachin

GREAT TEACHER. HE USED HIS OWN TEXTBOOK WHICH WAS EXTREMELY SIMPLE, YET VERY VERY HELPFUL AND STRAIGHT TO THE POINT. HE WAS EASY TO TALK TO AND EXPLAINED THE CONCEPTS VERY WELL. HIS CLASS WAS INTERESTING AND HE ALWAYS WENT AT THE SPEED OF THE CLASS. AND IF FOR ANY CASE YOU NEEDED EXTRA HELP, HE WAS VERY HELPFUL. QUIZES AND TESTS WERE EXTREMELY EASY

REALLY easy class. he treats you like you are in 4th grade, BUT i eventually found his method quite helpful by the end of the semester. he is extremely funny and cusses a lot! take him for an A

Really easy going, fun teacher. But don't take this class if you want to actually develop your english skills. Lots of essays, but there's lots of days to go over them. If you're looking for an easy A and you're already good at english, then probably take this.

Take this class, the book and packet have to be taken almost everyday, attendance is mandatory, Pollitt is super laid back. Easy grader and lets you turn some papers again for a better grade. Don't try to overachieve because you have to do what he says for a good grade. He's a cool guy, and basically at the end of the class you add your own grade

Great, Amazing teacher. easiest class to take literally hands the A to you. you still have to do your work though. but it is a small target in other words really easy. very helpful and funny. Tends to Control the material though so its either his way or the highway. but i would take all my English classes with him if its possible

Pollitt is amazing and hillarious! English was never my favorite but he made the class fun the whole semester. He helped me a lot with my writing skills. It's an easy A just do the assignments.

Professor Pollitt is really awesome. He helps his students and answers questions as clearly as possible. You will not find another professor like him.

Really funny guy, the class was so easy. It is true that you just basically copy the templates that he gives you in order to do your essays. Not much effort is needed in this class. Whether or not you learn something from this class is debatable. Attendance is mandatory but he typically lets you out 45 minutes early if you get the work done.

Very fun professor. He likes to joke around a lot but is clear about how he wants things done. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask. Make sure you attend class because he gives out assignments all the time and quizzes at random times.

Honestly, this was the most effective English class I've ever taken. He teaches things in a different way and I don't think I've ever learned so much in an English class. My writing improved so much because of him.

As a freshman, Pollitt definitely made my first semester at CSUF stress-free. He made every class so entertaining. His instructions for assignments and papers tend to be confusing, but he'll clarify if you ask him to. If you just do the assignments he gives you and show up to class, you'll easily pass the class with an A. Take him!!

He's amazing all tests, quizzes, and the final were open book you could even ask him questions during exams he'll help you out. For his essays make sure to follow the exact format he wants he basically gives us the whole outline for the essays and we go home to type them up. Definitely an easy A.

Best teacher I've had at CSUF, very easy class and he'll even give you a few laughs every time you go to his class. Totally worth it

Gary Pollit is an overall very funny guy and his class is not that hard to pass. He has his own book to work from. He does go over the material a little to fast sometimes. The material isn't too hard. Make sure you keep yourself organized because you will have to turn in a portfolio and number everything. Most quizzes and exams are open book.

Laid back, easy A! You need to bring his "book" everyday, but just take the sections that are listed on the course schedule cuz taking the entire packet was annoying to carry lol. Stress free class! (we can all agree that we need one of those classes in our schedule, lol). Just follow his guidelines and you will pass :)

Really cool guy, and easy going class. He requires you to buy his own textbook and all the work is done from there. Keep all assignments organized in order to pass. If you follow his formats, its an easy A. He doesnt make you write research papers, but instead makes you rewrite already typed papers in order to fix grammar errors and etc.

English 101 with Pollitt was such a breeze! I truly recommend him! He helps you along the whole way. You do a lot of essays in this class, but he walks you through each and every one of them. Such an easy A. He is super funny too.

Gary is a funny guy and a cool professor. His material is very easy if you just do as he directs you to do. You don't need to buy a text book but he has you buy a fat packet of worksheets that he wrote ($80 I believe). A decent amount of papers but they are all very short and easy which mostly consist of copying pre written templates.

Cares about students and wants to help them pass. Essays must be written based on templates he provides, thus they are very easy to write. However in the end ur not really learning anything. Helps students on tests if you ask. One group project, very easy. You also work on super easy grammer pages from his packet that u must buy.

Gary Pollitt is a great teacher to take for English 101. His material is very clear and always is able to crack a laugh. He's very straightforward. Overall, he made taking this class great.

Gary was an amazing professor! His class was super easy and he was really funny and laid back. You don't use a textbook. He has his own textbook, which is basically a super easy workbook. His essays are very simple and straight to the point. Also, there's no final.

Hes pretty funny, always tries to end class early. He does explain pretty fast so you have to pay attention to what he says or you can get lost on whats happening. Prepare to waste a lot of paper and ink because you print so much for his class. His essays arent that hard to write but his test can be a little hard depending on the person.

I enjoyed this class, we always got to leave early because he would just have us do some writing drills and leave. He grades his papers pretty harshly, a couple mistakes and youve got a C on your paper, but if you fix the mistakes hell raise the paper to the next letter grade which is nice. You gotta pay for launchpad and its a waste of time.

Very funny teacher. Enjoyable class, my favorite to go to! Class is always dismissed early. You have to print a LOT for his workbook. Simple and really easy classwork, mostly just drills with the whole class. His grading for papers was tough, though. He gives you opportunities to fix it and receive a higher grade. Can't miss more than two classes.

You don't really have a lot of homework, just to do a couple of essays that you pretty much copy from the templates he has. The classes were probably about 30 mins going over practice sheets where you have to participate in but there are times where you don't have to go to class. Take him, kinda harsh grader but he's a funny guy.

This class is so easy tbh. As long as you follow the essay templates and fix what he tells you to fix, youll ace this class. You do need to print a few grammar sheets, but other than that, this class is a breeze. class always ends 30 minutes early.

I was worried about taking English 101 with Pollitt, but that soon went away. Hes very funny and his assignments are pretty straightforward. Just follow the templates and put in the work. He can be a little vague but thats only if you dont pay attention. He will also gladly look over your essay if you have any questions.

Hilarious professor and really cares for his students. He goes over papers with you and helps you with it. He's also patient if you don't understand the assignment. Homework is mostly drills and he goes over those, just do the drills and you'll be fine. Only criticism is that he is very vague with assignments but responds quickly to emails.

Hes a great teacher and he works with you when we do essays. We do elementary work mostly together that are useful. He allows u to miss days but he doesnt accept late assignments, youd have to get the it to him before class ends. The syllabus has everything youll do that day so no surprises. Only con is he doesnt use canvas

Great teacher, he has his own textbook which we print out. Would recommend having your own printer. He starts off slow and takes you step by step on how to write a good essay. He is funny and I enjoyed the class. Most of the tests are open notes, if you have questions just ask.

I really enjoyed this professor so much and class was very easy if you attended class. He is extremely helpful and makes sure all your questions get answered, he has his own textbook which is extremely helpful when writing essays, he helps you step by step which makes it really easy! By far the most hilarious professor I've ever had. This guy never failed to make the class laugh with his random jokes and sarcasm. Doesn't use Canvas, but sends emails on what to do. There are only three essays (including final essay). Homework is like elementary work, it's a lot but easy. He's a picky grader but wants his students to succeed.

Make sure you prepare to print alot of papers throughout the semester, especially his 300+ page course packet, also another tip make sure you bring a separate folder/binder for this class and put all the papers he gives you in there. Trust me you are going to need it.

Professor Pollitt is pretty chill, but very strict when teaching. He has you print out a 300 page packet that you must bring to class. He assigns a lot of homework, but it's relatively easy as they're simple warmups. He does assign essays but gives you templates that you can easily follow. He does remind me of Dr. Tom Koracick from Grey's Anatomy.

Gary is great. He is a tough grader, but he allows corrections on your exams. Provides clear writing criterias and structure. Exam Tip: stay after class if you are struggling and he'll help you out.

Took English 101. One of, if not the best professor I've ever had. Teaches things in a digestible and easy way, gives great feedback and keeps class entertaining. Lots of writing but that's expected for an English class. Does have a strict attendance policy but I never felt any urge to not go to class.

He's pretty chill, on essays and assignments, he is super strict with grading, however, before turning in those essays he will give the best feedback, if you actually take his feedback you'll get an A on the paper. Its a lot of work and you got to show up but for the most part it's super easy work that a 5th grader could pass the class.

Final grade is based on numbered assignments you keep track of over the semester. A little all over the place but very chill and approachable. Grading is a little strict but just stick the outline he gives and you will succeed. Ends class early often so just show up and do your part, ez A (must buy $45 txtbk he wrote himself)

Solid teacher, handwriting is a mess though, uses paper packets sold at the TitanShop, class materials weren't too difficult, mandatory participation but ends classes early on most days, uses no technology.
